Thanks @AMS19 and @CookieMonster3001. He's fine now, tonsillitis ☹. Not liking his antibiotics much, but he's eating and drinking and the temp has come right down.

I'm always so hungry just before I'm due on, the amount of food I eat is actually ridiculous. I've probably ate less food yesterday and today in total than I did in half a day before my bleed 🤣

cookie you need to have good luck sex pre exam, and then well done sex afterwards haha. Cotswolds is beautiful, we were there in March just pre lockdown

CookieMonster3001 · 29/09/2020 16:01

@ams19 thanks for the recommendation, I am going to be looking at airbnbs and hotels later tomorrow, hopefully we can get something booked!

@dancinggroot glad his temp has come down! Tolsilitis is not fun, although my little sister had it and used it as an excuse to eat plenty of icecream!
I have eaten so much yesterday and today, I just cant stop!!
I like the idea of the good luck sex and the well done sex haha, hope the good luck sex is good luck for more than just my exam though!!!

ThreeTree · 30/09/2020 19:05

Hi ladies I’ve been MIA for a bit but ticking things off my list. Had a normal smear, a dental checkup, and lost a few more pounds. Starting prenatal vitamins tomorrow!

AMS19 · 01/10/2020 14:38

@ThreeTree When you are TTC? Or have you started already?

AMS19 · 01/10/2020 14:38

How is everyone doing?

Smushty14 · 01/10/2020 14:56

@AMS19 All good here thanks lovely! Still stressed waiting on the bank to decide on our mortgage but should hopefully find out tomorrow!

How are you getting on?

ThreeTree · 01/10/2020 18:19

@AMS19 Jan 2021. Just starting them 3 months early to build up my folic acid! Seems so real now.

AMS19 · 01/10/2020 18:23

@Smushty14 eeek how exciting!!! Hopefully things can get moving ASAP!!
All good my end thank you...drunk way too much last night - making the most of it while I can but paying for it today big time 🤢

@ThreeTree yay super excited!! I originally planned to try from December and was getting ahead of the game but now I'm getting impatient and am gonna start trying from after my first proper AF!

BeeBuzzz · 01/10/2020 19:13

Hey, would it be okay if I joined too? I think I’m in a bit of a different position than most of you, but you seem like such a friendly bunch I wanted to say hello :)

Right now I’m waiting to find out if I get to TTC - it all depends if DH also wants to go for it. While I wait I thought I’d at least learn what I’d need to know if we go ahead, and get my body prepared just in case!

AMS19 · 01/10/2020 20:02

@BeeBuzzz oh wow welcome! How exciting! Is DH thinking it over? Whats the thoughts so far? Assuming this is your first?

BeeBuzzz · 01/10/2020 21:28

@AMS19 Thanks so much for the welcome!

Yes, it would be our first. At the moment he’s thinking about it. I’ve told him where I’m at, and now I’m giving him space to think it over for himself. It’s hard but feels like the right thing to do.

AMS19 · 02/10/2020 07:12

@BeeBuzzz absolutely. My DH was the same, totally against it and wanted to do more travelling. But I'm 32 and he is 34 and given covid doesn't look to be going anywhere soon we agreed to see what happened from Dec time for a few months then if it didn't work, take 6 months off to travel more post a vaccine. But now he really wants one as well as we are gonna start trying from next month. The additional 6 months of not being able to socialise with more then 6 helped, as he realised we probably won't do much and holidays still seem unlikely. So I would say in my experience, start with a small compromise and build up. Maybe even for a month or two avoiding ovulation days so not trying to get pregnant but getting him used to the idea. Then he will probably come around quite quickly. After about a month of talking about it and coming off the pill he asked me last week if he should use a condom. Given he was less keen than me on having a baby this is huge progress! I was the one who was like "yes!!! Of course you bloody should!!" 😂😂

BeeBuzzz · 02/10/2020 09:23

Thanks @AMS19 - it’s really helpful to know you’ve been through something similar! I’m not really sure there is a compromise on having a child or not though haha. But I’m hopeful :)

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 02/10/2020 09:57

Hi @BeeBuzzz, I hope he comes back to you with a yes.. I had the same kind of situation with my bf. We've been together six years, bought our first home in May 2019. He's always known from day one how much I want a family and can't wait to have a baby so when lockdown started we had serious conversations about putting plans in place... he's very much the type of person who doesn't plan and just sees what happens and I'm the complete and utter opposite. But I think the main things for them to be aware of is that you'll need at least three months to prep your body (I mean it isn't a must but that's what advised) and another thing men (or at least my bf) doesn't understand is the fact that there's only a few days a month where we can get pregnant! My bf thinks we'll have unprotected sex once and that's it!

So I've also been MIA ... had a much needed week off work, work was so busy last few weeks and I really felt it once I had the time off I've been napping daily, just so tired.
I have my scan on Monday to look at my uterus and then appointment with the gynaecologist on Tues morn to find out what the situation is and whether I need a procedure to correct it (the procedure comes with risks so I'm pretty nervous about it all).

Me and my bf have decided to ditch the conforms and just do the pulling out method until we're actually TTC (Feb) is it terrible that I want him to forget to pull out 😂. We just found the condoms to be a bit of a mood killer.. we'd been using them since Feb 2018 but he was saying he couldn't feel much so we agreed to just not have sex when I'm ovulating but once we're TTC I told him to buckle up 😂

How's everyone else? Weather is awful here where I am. Covid seems to be getting worse and worse, anyone in London agree they'll be stopping households mixing soon?

Hope you're all well. How are you both @KittyT30 and @HeyDW96

We've got such a nice little family going here!!

BeeBuzzz · 02/10/2020 15:37

Thanks @sunflowersaremyfav93 It means a lot!

We both actually already have a healthy lifestyle, so I’m not actually sure what we’d change if we could. Which is a blessing, but also means there’s not a lot of pre-TTC stuff to discuss! I’m finding the wait a bit difficult tbh. But you all know about waiting :)

Weather’s raining here, but I actually quite like that. I’ve taken a day off work and pretty much just been watching the rain!

Hope everyone’s doing well x

AMS19 · 02/10/2020 16:08

@sunflowersaremyfav93 it is so miserable!! Im also in London and seeing friends and family this weekend in prep for a lockdown anyway now. Your time off sounds ideal. Not being able to go away means I've really enjoyed just chilling when I have time off

@BeeBuzzz I think the main prep is coming off birth control. I've started taking vitamins but otherwise it is getting your body rid of all those nasty hormones!

BeeBuzzz · 02/10/2020 16:17

@AMS19 I’m not on hormonal birth control, so glad not to need to come off it! I’m really ready in every way haha.

I SO miss seeing friends and family. Mine are spread around so I’ve barely seen anyone all year. My hopes are still pinned on Christmas, but who knows if that’ll happen?!

CookieMonster3001 · 02/10/2020 16:21

@threetree well done on the weight loss!! Everyone is doing amazing and im pretty sure I am here putting more weight on LOL, so hard to avoid food when working from home!

@AMS19 I am doing good! Hope you are too. Work is keeping me busy at the moment which is good! We are still looking at hotels to book for the cotswolds, but we not booking anything just yet as we dont really know what the situation will be regarding covid and whilst I am dying to get away, I really dont want to expose myself to extra risk when this is the first month we are TTC.

@smushty14 fingers crossed for your mortgage approval!! When we got our house, we were told the bank would take 2 weeks with our application but it was approved within 3 days! Exciting times for you!

@beebuzz welcome to the group! everyone is welcome! great idea to get prepared just incase! Hope your OH says yes! Definately good to have both of you in the same mindframe though. I also kind of feel men are less likely to be as open about the whole situation then us females. I know when ever I used to try and have a conversation with my OH about it, he would just joke it off and you could tell he felt uncomfortable about it, even now hes like I don't want to know when you ovulate and had an anxiety attack when I was reading the packet of my CB ovulation kit thinking it was a pregnancy test lol.

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I really hope your appointment goes well on Monday hun! I can imagine how nervous you must feel but at least the ball is rolling and you will find out soon enough what position you are in and what needs to be done to help your journey. Me and OH have been using the pull out method, and sometimes he would be like "Woah that was a close one!" and honestly, I would feel gutted haha!
The rain is miserable here, don't know about everyone else, but this weather change has really made me feel so unmotivated and lazy! Covid does seem to be getting worse, but I am holding out hope that it stays at bay until my sisters wedding has passed. The poor girl has had to reschedule it 3 times, and I dont think she would be able to take it if it got cancelled again because of lockdown.

Today has been a bit of a strange one for me. As this is my first month TTC, I thought I would start OPK testing as soon as I finish my period. Today is CD4 and I already have a high OPK... proper random!! Granted I never test this early so maybe the levels will decrease again before going back up, but I really hope I don't ovulate too early!!

butterfly5291 · 02/10/2020 19:12

@sunflowersaremyfav93 see hasn't that appointment come round fast! Really hope you get some answers and it's all positive!

@CookieMonster3001 we have just booked Teweskbury park hotel for our mini moon in Oct.

Can't remember if I said but getting married 15th October now and postponed big wedding celebration to Feb22 so hopefully we'll have a baby flower girl!
My cycle has been mad this month, was due to ovulate CD17 and didn't until CD23 I'd given up hope but someone inspired me to take an opk and it was high! So now 4dpo so I'll either be pregnant or bleeding on wedding day now!

AMS19 · 02/10/2020 22:28

@CookieMonster3001 we booked through air b&b and it had a full cancellation up to 2 days before so maybe try something like that?

@butterfly5291 yay massive congratulations!!! Where is the wedding? Fingers crossed for pregnant 🤞 how amazing would that be as a wedding present!!

My BBT is all over the place but I think it is still the leftover effects from the pill. Got loads of pain today so not sure if my body is ovulating 🤷‍♀️ who knew it was all so bloody complex!

gems05 · 03/10/2020 19:53

Well AF arrived today that's me out for now, time for a few beers seeing as it's hubby bday tomoz 😁🍺👍

However my first month charting BBT is seriously all over the shop (please bear in mind the first 2 wks I was suffering a stomach bug, meaning I was awake in the early hrs of the morning with cramps) but the rest of the month varies far too much for the app to pinpoint ovulation - it's basing it on high opk readings over 3 days of 14th-17th. We dtd every other day from the 12th to the 21st but it didn't take?

I do work shifts and only last week I've started setting an alarm for 5am even on my late shift just to measure BBT a bit more consistently time wise 4/5am
Is this as much as I can do for the forthcoming month? 🥴🤔

Preconception planners - still planning
Pebbleinthesand · 03/10/2020 19:54

Not been on for a few days so hope everyone's doing okay. I've tried to catch up on comments but there are so many 😊.

So I need your opinions ladies on how often to DTD in your fertile window. We're currently on day 4 in a row and DH thinks all his Christmases have come at once but I'm not sure if you're actually supposed to do it every day or every other day? I'm not 100% sure when I ovulate so I'm thinking every day during what my app thinks is my fertile window and then maybe just keep going every other day after that in the hope that sheer willpower will get me pregnant 😂.

I've been really unhealthy this last week with not being able to run for a week after lazer eye surgery and too many meals out/take aways then I went and shared a bottle of Baileys with my best friend last night and feel so rotten and bloated today. I need to stay focused else I'll easily put loads of weight back on before getting pregnant. I don't know if anyone else does Slimming World but if you're at target when you fall pregnant then you don't have to pay even when you gain too much to be in your target weight and then get so long to get back to target after having the baby so I'm really desperate to stay in my target range.

HeyDW96 · 03/10/2020 20:58

@Pebbleinthesand dtd every day during fertile time is fine, that is basically SMEP so you should be covered

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 03/10/2020 21:52

@cookiemonster3001 Thank you! I’m just wanting answers now, good or bad just need to know what the issue might be so we can fix it. Omg that’s what I’m like! I’m thinking oh just don’t pull out please! I’m ovulating Thursday (according to Flo) and we’re going out for wine and cheese tasting so hoping we’ve had too many drinks to realise pulling out needs to happen. I don’t even know why we’re waiting til Feb anymore. Oh no your poor sister!! I really hope it goes ahead for her!!

@butterfly5291 it’s come round so quickly hasn’t it?! Time is going quickly thankfully... when I started the countdown on my phone I had something like 250 days to go before TTC now I’m on 120! Ooh are you getting married in 15th! How exciting, are you all ready for it? How lovely.
Oh no why has that happened with your cycle? Are you taking pregnacare or was that somebody else on the thread? Fingers crossed you’re pregnant on the wedding day!! Please let us know..excited for you!!

Was this your first official month TTC @gems05?

@pebbleinthesand my plan is to DTD everyday during fertile window according to app which is about right according to my OPKs and then every other day when it’s not fertile window.

I’m also eating so much atm I’ve prob gained weight too! I think I need to lose half a stone. Eurgh!!

gems05 · 04/10/2020 00:18

@sunflowersaremyfav93 yes it was first month ttc despite only having implant out last month.
We've made the decision to actively ttc until Af arrives early December, but then we will be taking a chilled approach due to the fact we're both facing redundancy in July. We want to focus on getting new jobs in order to get our mortgage approval seeing as we both need to be working for that... unless I win the lottery between now and then 🙄
