@MsQueenInTheNorth yeah I wouldn't like a December birthday personally. Unfortunately like you said ttc isn't as easy as working out when you want baby to be born and trying at that time!

MsQueenInTheNorth · 26/09/2020 13:36

@Dancinggroot exactly, it’s so hard to time anything! A good friend from uni has a Christmas Day birthday and she finds it quite hard sometimes, even as an adult. She did tell me that apparently less people are born on Christmas Day than any other day of the year because they offer women due on Christmas Eve/Christmas day/Boxing Day an induction to avoid Christmas Day babies. Her mum didn’t take the induction though, obviously Grin I don’t know if that’s still the case, but I thought it was quite interesting.

I weighed myself this morning and I’ve lost 4lbs in the last 2 weeks which I am pleased about. I’m also making a conscious effort to cut down on the wine and eat less carbs... I can’t say the same for coffee though, I think that will stay until I get a positive test! Wine Brew

Happyotamus · 26/09/2020 17:25

Place marking

Hello! I'll be back later.

Smushty14 · 26/09/2020 17:59

@Dancinggroot Thanks lovely!! I really do hope so!

@Mokoblack our first house we weren't in a change but it was a repossession and we had to exchange and complete on the same day within 30 days.... that was stressful!

This time it's more just getting annoyed with the bank for taking so long 😴

@MsQueenInTheNorth Well done!!! That's really good!!! Haha I'm the same with the coffee. I'm thinking about buying decaf and doing half and half to cut down and then purely decaf once we are trying

Curiosity101 · 26/09/2020 19:37

Hey all. I think I was on the last thread. My plan had been to start losing weight/getting fitter in preparation for TTC early next year. Instead, I mostly ate bad food and drank too much wine Grin. It was fun but I've finally gotten the motivation to lose the weight I gained from baby #1 and get really fit.

I've started TheFast800 and am just about to complete my first week. Just 11 more weeks to go and hopefully that should take me to around 1/2 stone less than my pre-pregnancy weight.

Not sure exactly when we'll start TTC, it could be as early as January but equally could be later. Baby #1 was meant to be an October baby but arrived almost 7 weeks early in August, so my DH is a bit nervous about the idea of TTC in January again.

Pebbleinthesand · 26/09/2020 19:45

@RandyGiles06 I have thought about having an August baby but little girl is a June baby and is just fine. Just from what she's like in preschool and her confidence I know she'll be more than ready for reception next September. So I'm not worried about having an August baby. I think it depends more on the child and what the parents do with them than their date of birth. As a teacher I've know very bright summer babies and autumn babies that have really struggled.

I'd much rather have a summer baby than a Christmas baby to be honest. I love that my little girl's birthday is in the middle of the year.

AMS19 · 27/09/2020 07:56

Hi ladies. How is everyone?

I'm a December baby, so are a lot of my family, so really would ideally like to avoid that for my children. But I really think getting pregnant is actually such a privilege that worrying too much about dates is really less significant than I previously gave it credit for.
Even though I was planning to TTC from December, given there won't be the number of Xmas parties and events I usually have, and hence was avoiding being pregnant for, I think I'm considering NTNP from after my first proper period, whenever that may be. I've been tracking my BBT and saw a huge drop today, not sure what that is about. Some research suggests it could be pre ovulation 🤷‍♀️ but we are using condoms this month so doesnt really matter, I'm just super keen for the first proper period!

Hows everyone else feeling timing wise? Anyone else thinking to bring forward if life is gonna be boring for the next 6 months?

jessicalouise10 · 27/09/2020 08:16

@AMS19
A drop in temp could be your period coming! Have you just come off birth control?x

AMS19 · 27/09/2020 08:26

@jessicalouise10 I stopped the pill on 13th September and had a very short light normal withdrawal bleed on 18th Sept for 2 days or so. So would maybe be a little bit early?! But who knows - haven't had a proper cycle yet so guess it could turn up at anytime 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Pebbleinthesand · 27/09/2020 17:05

@AMS19 I completely agree with you about it being such a privilege and not really mattering. Before having DD, being a teacher, I always thought I would plan for a September baby but when it came for it I just wanted to be able to have a child, regardless of when they'd be born. I love having a little summer baby now, she always has fab parties or holidays round her birthday since the weather is usually lovely in June.

Curiosity101 · 27/09/2020 19:25

@AMS19 @Pebbleinthesand I definitely agree it is a privilege to be pregnant at any point. I can understand people trying to avoid certain times of year though. We aimed for an October baby and ended up with a very premature August baby. So there really is no 'planning' a pregnancy, not really Grin. Personally we want to avoid August, purely cause of the potential social impact. They'd be last in the year to turn 16, 17, 18, 21 etc. It also means they might only just have turned 18 when they start University if they want to go. A lot of their friends being on holiday when it's their birthday... But having said all that, I'd take a healthy pregnancy and baby in August over anything with complications so it doesn't really matter.

We'll be planning to aim for October/November again this time. But we know all too well that you can't choose when to conceive, and you definitely don't choose when they make their appearance!

I won't have finished losing the weight I want to lose until at least mid-December anyway. And if I do get pregnant again, I want to go in fighting fit.

AMS19 · 27/09/2020 19:39

@Curiosity101 I think waiting until you are healthy is absolutely the right thing to do. As there is of course no harm is trying to time! I used condoms today because I really dont want to be pregnant for a holiday in May, so I think timing is best you can is totally the right thing to do. But I think for me, once j start trying that will be it, even if it doesn't mean the 4th December baby is my immediate family 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂

@Pebbleinthesand I think June is the perfect month! I would love a June baby. But hope I dont have one as that either means it will take me a year to fall pregnant or have a premie based on the fact I'm starting to try from October!

For me my timing was based on not being pregnant in December. Given life is dull and Xmas parties are off, I'm now going for having the baby in time to have rose wine next summer 😂😂

Smushty14 · 27/09/2020 20:01

@AMS19 Ahaha I love that plan for the summer rosé 🤣

I've just had my friends baby shower today and it's made me so broody. We have now decided we will be trying once we are in the new house rather than NTNP.

I just hope that I'm not due in July as we have had our Wimbledon tickets postponed to next year on court no. 1 and I really don't want to be due to drop or leave a newborn baby so soon!

That would only happen if by some miracle we fall pregnant the first few weeks after coming off the pill. I also had my final injection around this time last year so no idea how much of that would stop me ovulating.

Completely agree with you ladies though, it would be amazing to plan but actually getting pregnant and having a baby is a blessing in itself.

AMS19 · 27/09/2020 20:06

@Smushty14 yay that is exciting! Both the tennis and the baby trying 😂😂 argh you've just reminding me I've got tickets to rearranged Sister Act in August 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ bugger. Oh well, I might just have to take 4 hours off. Ha, I'm getting proper carried away now. So looks like we will start trying at the same time if you are next month too?

Smushty14 · 27/09/2020 20:26

@AMS19 I just can't wait already - patience is definitely a virtue I don't have 🤣 Haha glad I could help! We were originally going to postpone a festival to next year but I just wanted the money back with everything going on.

The only reason we have agreed to next year for Wimbledon is because it's so hard to get tickets for!

Yes! When is CD1 for you next month? I'm still deciding between 3rd October or once we are in the house... the reason the 3rd is because I can get AF out of the way and done with and I'll be occupied 🤣

AMS19 · 27/09/2020 20:37

@Smushty14 unfortunately I have no idea as I'm waiting for my first proper period. If, and this very likely won't be the case, my cycle was to be 30 days straight away, CD1 would be somewhere around 18th/19th. But reality your guess is as good as mine 🤷‍♀️ im currently 10 days past my withdrawal bleed!

Wowthisisreal · 27/09/2020 23:15

Very excited to find this thread! Can I join your ranks? We're thinking about TTC baby #2. DS is 20 months and every month we talk about it but decide it's not the right time yet. DH had some job issues but now seems pretty secure so that's all good. Started taking the conception vitamins (his and hers) and hoping to TTC end of the year.

Reason for delay... I'd like to lose 1 stone. I lost over 3 stone before TTC DS and I'd like to be in the same shape for #2 pregnancy. Maternity leave and Lockdown were not kind to me but back on the right track and 1 stone before the end of the year seems doable and will mean I am the same weight as pregnancy #1. I also cannot imagine having another baby when DS is my everything, but I know everyone says not to worry about this.

Excited and nervous. Very lucky that we fell pregnant first time with DS and I'm mindful this will not necessarily be the case, so I'm constantly weighing up the fact it may take a while with the fact I want to start TTC when I am in the right place physically to give best chance of healthy pregnancy etc etc.

Curiosity101 · 28/09/2020 06:05

@Wowthisisreal It's like I could have written your post. The only difference is my DS is 13 months. ☺️ Welcome!

I'm not starting any TTC vitamins yet. Although I am taking multi vitamins at the moment cause the fast800 diet suggests it. What are you doing for your weight loss?

CookieMonster3001 · 28/09/2020 10:48

Good Morning Ladies, how is everyone? How was everyones weekends?

I am due on today and feeling sorry for myself, just ate a giant chocolate croissant and cannot STOP eating!! Anyone else a bottomless pit when they are due on??Also kinda wierd thinking this may be my last period for a while!Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed!

Welcome to the newbies!!

@pebbleinthesand I just bought a normal thermometer and if people asked, I just said it was because of the virus!! haha I did have to create a seperate amazon for me though to buy some OPK's and I think the first order they give you free delivery. I figured I can use my own account when I want to get something I dont want others to see, and I will just have to deal with the fact I cant get it delivered so quickly. But the plus side is you can get it delivered to a locker so can pick it up without anyone knowing either! I have my entire family sharing my hubbies amazon prime, and they are all incredibly nosey so wouldnt be able to get anything on his!

@randygiles06 defo let fate decide!! My bday is 31st July so I was always the youngest in my class, but I loved it!! haha and I also loved being a summer baby because my birthday always fell in summer holidays so I was always on holiday for my birthday! Education wise, I never really had any issues with learning because I was the youngest, from what my parents tell me. Ended up with a Masters so cant have been that bad!! TTC is so unpredictable as well so I wouldnt put off trying just to get a specific month. IF (a big IF) I concieve on my first try, baby will be born in the same month as me and OH haha. That also means I can have a drink on my birthday yay!

@sparkleprincesss oh no!! But you are not out until AF has well and truly arrived, so please dont get your hopes up just yet. You never know.

@msqueeninthenorth 4lb is amazing! Well done!

gems05 · 28/09/2020 18:47

@CookieMonster3001 I'm due on Friday at a guess with the apps and I've got the biggest carbs desire this week so far

Feed me fresh gorgeous bread 😋😋

Wowthisisreal · 28/09/2020 22:43

@Curiosity101 Slimming World! It worked well for me and DH last time so hoping for the same again!

Dancinggroot · 28/09/2020 23:00

My withdrawal bleed finally started late on Saturday (after spending the day in hospital with my poorly toddler - seems a lot better now thankfully).
However, I bled from 3pm Saturday until around 8pm Sunday then it stopped. I'm assuming it will start again, but who knows.
Tonight is my first 'should be taking the pill but not' day.

AMS19 · 29/09/2020 07:07

@Dancinggroot that is exciting!! Hopefully not too long until the proper period. So sorry about your son - is he okay????

@CookieMonster3001 always! Due on or hungover and I cant stop eating. If I ever have both on the same day it is a disaster 😂😂😂 I bet you are so excited for the period to come and go so you can start trying!

I've been looking into measuring CM. Everyone talks about having EWCM but I have never noticed it. Anyone else knew to it / got any tips?

CookieMonster3001 · 29/09/2020 12:19

@gems05 oh don't now I am craving fresh tiger bread with butter! yum!!

@Dancinggroot hope your son is OK! and fingers crossed you get your proper period soon! After being on the pill, my periods have only ever been 2 days!

@AMS19 started my period at 1.30am this morning and was in so much pain!! But then I thought, hopefully this will be my last for a while haha. By Thursday, my period should be finished, so I can start OPK testing. I have to admit, not thought about it much this last week or so. Trying not to get so stressed out over it. I also have an exam coming up during my fertile window, so either that is good and will help take my mind of it, or it will be bad and i'll be incredibly stressed out! Eek!!

Booked a couple days away near Torquay later in October followed by what should have been a trip to Wales but as they are in local lockdown, I have had to cancel it, now me and OH are looking for somewhere else we could go for a couple of days of relaxation! Thinking maybe the Cotswolds? Any recommendations?

AMS19 · 29/09/2020 12:54

@CookieMonster3001 I just went to cotswolds for a few days and it was amazing!! So beautiful! Would absolutely highly recommend!
