@Bells3032 how have you been getting on? I’ve been thinking about you!

Bells3032 · 24/09/2020 12:30

@RandyGiles06 aw that's so sweet. I am a little calmer now just fustrated and how slow this whole process is. We've had our intitial consult with the fertility clinic. He didn't seem too concerned with my AMH and said it's likely caused by my coil so gonna retest in 5 weeks once the hormones are out my system. He seemed pretty confident we could get pregnant with our figures.

But it's still gonna be a long journey and I am getting anxious about all the injections (petrified of needles), blood tests and the chances of miscarriage and not taking after that. It'll be worth it in the end.

just need to learn some dam patience!!! I am very bored in this lockdown too

Hi everyone! I am thinking about TTC after a missed miscarriage in April. I am getting married next June so after the MMC i thought i would just wait until after the wedding but with the recent covid restrictions coming in and the doom and gloom about 6 more months we are thinking of trying again, and having a very small family only wedding where i wouldn't mind being 6/7 months pregnant, then a mega party the following year. My last experience of pregnancy was awful with an early scan at 9 weeks that pointed to MMC and 3 more scans following that and then medical management so it has taken a while to clear my head and feel ready again.

AMS19 · 24/09/2020 13:38

@RandyGiles06 you are exactly the same as me. Trying to wait to December for a May holiday that probably won't even happen! I think once I've passed the mark of potentially being more than 35 pregnant for the holiday im gonna just start being casual about trying because I'm so bored!

@MrsF111 I'm so sorry to hear your story. That is terribly sad. Welcome to the group! What contraception are you using? Yes I think waiting around plans just isn't worth it now. Fingers crossed June is good for you though. June is great for a wedding, I got married in June last year and the weather was amazing! Do you have any other children?

MrsF111 · 24/09/2020 13:58

@AMS19 no this will be my first, I am 31 and my OH is 36 so we are really keen to start our family! I had restarted the pill a few weeks ago before we started talking about trying again before the wedding. Ive got 6 months supply now ooops! I will finish this pack and then thats it. You sre right, with all the uncertainty about whether the wedding will go ahead as originally planned it doesnt seem worth waiting, we already postponed once from this June! Congratulations on your wedding! And double congratulations for getting in before all the covid madness!

AMS19 · 24/09/2020 15:16

@MrsF111 who knows, if you get pregnant straight away you might have a bonus page boy / bridesmaid 😂
I'm 32 and my husband is 34 and we were going to wait until covid was over to finish our travelling plans but realised we probably don't have the time if this goes on for another year. It is good you haven't been on the pill too long, hopefully your cycle will just snap back straight away

Dancinggroot · 24/09/2020 19:22

Hi all, been lurking for a while.
We are due to start ttc in around May time, I want to start now tbh but based on nursery fees and covid wage changes we've agreed to wait til next spring.
I've decided not to restart my pills on Monday to give my cycles a few months to regulate. Hate condoms though so not looking forward to that.
I'm due my withdrawal bleed to start tomorrow. Dont know whether to exclude until my first real period before starting to figure out when I ovulate or to start as though tomorrow is day 1.
I've started taking a multivitamin, and I'm going to try and lose some weight too.

AMS19 · 24/09/2020 19:41

@Dancinggroot hi! That is super exciting. How old is your first? Great you are being so proactive
Since I had my withdrawal bleed I've been tracking my temp but that's it. More out of curiosity. Not going to properly track cycles until I've had my first proper period...whenever that may be!
I'm the same with condoms. So far we just haven't had sex because it feels like too much faff 😂😂

Dancinggroot · 24/09/2020 19:50

ams She's 2 and a half. I think she's at an age now that by the time we have a second she'll understand a bit more. The original plan was to start trying in November/ December time because by the time I would be due we would get the free nursery hours. But because we've had some reduced income during covid we're planning on waiting about 6 months and saving the difference to use on maternity leave.
The logic is there but oh I wish we were getting ready to try haha.
The "issue" is with dd i literally stopped my pill and got pregnant that cycle, so dh seems to think the same will happen again. I have no such optimism Grin

When did you stop your pill? Have you not had a "real" period yet? I'm so excited but so impatient haha

Clouless · 24/09/2020 19:54

@AMS19 Not planning on tracking atm. Just seeing what happens... However, I have an event (supposedly) early next August which having a very small child/ being too pregnant would be a problem. So it's deciding whether to try this month but then pause for a couple? Difficult though with everything so up in the air. I kind of feel like enough life has been put on hold.

Dancinggroot · 24/09/2020 20:12

@Clouless I completely understand. We have a holiday next August now due to cancelling this years. If we did start trying now and fell in the first couple of goes then we would have to cancel the holiday because I would be too pregnant to fly. Its so hard to know what to consider and what to ignore.

AMS19 · 24/09/2020 21:00

@Dancinggroot ah sounds like you are super fertile then!! I stopped the pill just under 2 weeks ago. Had my normal withdrawal bleed which started last Friday. So now it is a waiting game! I have absolutely no idea how long it might take for my first proper period to come. I'm taking pregnacare as these are meant to help and BBT tracking to get an idea of when I ovulate, but just out of curiosity

@Clouless yeah mine is in May so I'm getting to the point in the next month or so I'm probably safe for that. I said we would start trying, then if we haven't fallen by next spring and things are better, maybe stop and do more trips. The issue is I reckon once we start trying I won't be able to stop!

Smushty14 · 24/09/2020 22:41

Hello!

Thought I would join in here as this seems to be the best place for me Smile

We are planning on trying from beginning of December. I was on the injection from March 2014 to October 2019, then switched to the pill as we knew we wanted to start TTC in 2020.

I have nooooooo idea as to whether I will start ovulating straight away or if the injection is still messing with my system but my fingers are crossed.

We did decide to start trying back in May/June/July this year, then decided to buy a new house instead so back onto the pill for me as I think I recognise some of you 😂

AMS19 · 25/09/2020 07:48

@Smushty14 hi!! Thats super exciting. Moving is so stressful isn't it, definitely best not twinned with being pregnant. Are you going to wait until December to come off the pill or like the majority of us come off early and use condoms etc? How quickly did your period snap back before before when you were briefly trying?
I'm also aiming for December but not sure I'll get there and think it might be more like Oct/Nov now 😂😂

Dancinggroot · 25/09/2020 09:02

@Smushty14 hi! Are you upsizing for a family or just moving to a new area? How long did it take from finding somewhere to moving in?

Which pill are you on? Mine was cilique i think it's called

Smushty14 · 25/09/2020 18:13

@AMS19 I know I can't wait! We had our offer accepted at the end of July, mortgage application beginning of August and we are still waiting on Nationwide... they are at a 36 working day turnaround. Never known it to be so horrific!

It's a lovely three bed semi with a nice size garden - perfect for a family!

I'm hoping to NTNP from once we are in the new house. That's when I'm aiming to come off the pill completely. Then from December properly start trying but I'm impatient so it could be that I end up straight on the ovulation sticks 😂

I ended up at around 32 days for a cycle but I was never sure whether I was ovulating as I didn't try any ovulation tests or temping.

Haha yay to end of the year!

@Dancinggroot We are upsizing. We currently have a two bed terraced and the second bedroom is pretty much my dressing room as it's such a small place. Not in yet unfortunately but hopefully will be next month! I'm on Maexeni

Pebbleinthesand · 25/09/2020 20:08

I had my laser eye surgery yesterday and feeling amazing and can see perfectly so I'm made up. It's really lifted my spirits and I'm feeling renewed about trying this month.

AF lasted 5 days so I feel like it was definitely a proper period rather than the two 2 day periods I've had since coming off the coil.

Did anyone buy their BBT from anywhere other than amazon? I share my parents amazon prime and while my mum knows that we're trying I don't really want to have to explain to my dad what a BBT is and why I've bought one 😂.

Welcome to all the newbies! This is an amazing group and everyone's so lovely for the ups and downs so you're definitely in the right place if you need someone to talk things through with and vent to.

SparklePrincesss · 25/09/2020 20:53

@Pebbleinthesand I got mine on eBay! Make sure your eBay is linked to your nectar card so you earn points on your purchases xxx

RandyGiles06 · 25/09/2020 22:12

I know this is probably crazy but has anyone given any thought to school years? I am considering moving our first TTC month to November but the way my cycles are if I fell first month baby would be due right at the end of August, and I’m worried about them being so young starting school? 🤔 I spoke to my mum about it and she pointed out that it means they finish school a year earlier too which was a relief for her and that over time summer born babies do catch up. Am I totally overthinking this and should I just let fate decide? Grin hubby was no help as expected and said he’d just go with what I thought.

It’s something I do need to think about because with my first we got pregnant on our first try. I am wondering whether we could do NTNP for November then proper trying from December or something and see what happens!

Smushty14 · 25/09/2020 22:17

@RandyGiles06 Nope you aren't the only one 🙈

Part of me thinks it would be great to have an August baby as that way they can have birthdays outdoors. But then they wouldn't have a birthday at school.

There would also be development and being the youngest in the year. I don't know about you but when I turned 18 I was so pleased I was one of the older ones as a November baby!

SparklePrincesss · 25/09/2020 22:36

I'm a September baby! I LOVED being one of the oldest in my year, your babies will be brilliant regardless and will have friends from school at their parties. Mingle with the parents and they'll always have friends throughout the summer

SparklePrincesss · 25/09/2020 23:19

I think I'm out this month, I'm spotting. I normally do 7 days before af 😔 My cat hasn't left my side since last night, she must sense I need the cuddles

Dancinggroot · 26/09/2020 08:48

@Smushty14 so exciting for you, hopefully you're in soon!

@Pebbleinthesand could you set up a new account with a different email address and do the 1 months prime free trial then cancel? I've done that before when wanting to keep a Christmas present purchase hidden from my husband who i share our prime account with.

@RandyGiles06 the other thing to consider with timings is if you have an August baby they will be entitled to free nursery hours from the September after their birthday, if born in September they won't get them til Jan so an extra few months paying nursery fees if you use them. And if they're 18 later in the year their friends will be able to go out with them haha. My best friends birthday was beginning of September and nobody could go out with her for drinks legally anyway
Also they do catch up. I've got a lot of August born friends, and within them is a lawyer, a doctor and a dentist so definitely clever people haha.

I didnt get my withdrawal bleed yesterday as expected so just waiting on it this morning. It isnt usually late but I've got awful cramps so expecting it soon. I've also started with a cold, my sinuses are blocked and its giving me an awful headache Sad. Plus my daughter woke up crying and feels roasting hot. She was under a duvet with pjs on so I've stripped her off and hoping she cools down soon and it isnt a fever 🤞

MsQueenInTheNorth · 26/09/2020 09:17

I would rather not have a July/August baby if I had the choice (for the reasons others have said) but conceiving is so unpredictable that I wouldn’t not try over a particular couple of months to avoid one!

Although my best friend from school had an end of August birthday and she didn’t mind her birthday being in the holidays... I know of a few December babies who don’t like having Christmas birthdays though!

Mokoblack · 26/09/2020 10:50

@sunflowersaremyfav93 will pick up some vitamins today.

Just waiting for AF to arrive to get the ball rolling!

@Smushty14 We moved house just before lockdown, luckily wasn’t too stressful as there was no chain and no unwanted surprises. Hope all goes well!
