@sunflowersaremyfav93 don't be crazy, if you have just managed to get him to take them, let him carry on!! haha no wrongs and rights in this game! 4 months! That time will fly, to think it was 6 months away when you first started this thread!

AMS19 · 23/09/2020 16:25

I'm only taking pregnacare which was 3for2 at superdrug so about £16 for 3 months. A few friends have said it helped get their cycle back to normal quicker. A few ladies on here have said it can lengthen your cycle so after the 3 months I will probably then just switch to folic acid and vitamin D. But given i don't plan to try until Nov/Dec and have just come on the pill these will probably do for now. Husband isn't taking anything, just standard multivitamins

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 23/09/2020 16:50

@CookieMonster3001 hahah you're sooo right, if I managed to get him to take them then I should 100% get him to carry on. Starting g this thread was one of the best things I'd done.. sooo good to speak to likeminded people!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 23/09/2020 16:51

@AMS19 I did read that pregnacare can alter your cycle and I am pretty much like clockwork that was the only thing that put me off. I've read so much about CoQ10 benefitting eggs and then read the Luisa Zissman blog and it sold me but the £50 a month seems wild before baby is even here.

AMS19 · 23/09/2020 17:02

@sunflowersaremyfav93 yes definitely best not to risk it. I've been on the pill for 7 years so I was only like clockwork because it was artificial. Given a lit of my friends found this helped theirs get back to normal I felt it was worth a shot!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 23/09/2020 17:08

That's interesting that it helps regulate cycles after the pill though, I'm sure a lot of other women would find that an invaluable piece of info. @AMS19 did you say you were starting in Nov?

AMS19 · 23/09/2020 17:18

@sunflowersaremyfav93 yes Nov/Dec time. It depends how long it takes for my first proper period to come. I only stopped the pill 10 days ago. My ideal would be to get pregnant during December and find out first/second week of Jan when I've done all my drinking 😂 we are going to use condoms for this month up until I've had a proper period, then see how it goes, and really really try in December!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 23/09/2020 17:47

Ooh good luck! @AMS19 sounds like a perfect plan! We've had two BFP's already, so exciting for there to be more ☺️

TheNewMrsW · 23/09/2020 18:00

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I have to admit I'm a bit blue this week about it all! As it stands then Christmas will be off the cards in terms of family gatherings, sad to say I think it will probs go that way in England too looking at today's figures 😔 but hey we'll all get through it!! At least I have fertility monitors and OPKs and BBT to occupy my mind😂

I am currently taking Boots brand Folic acid with Vit D and also COQ10. I am thinking of switching to the brand recommended on the Starts With The Egg website though and DH has agreed to take them too, think once I am paid this week I will order those.

Clouless · 23/09/2020 18:43

I'm just taking vitamin D and folic acid. Implant out 2 and a half weeks ago... just had what seemed like a normal period. No idea what I'm doing or what will happen next! Haha! 🤣

MsQueenInTheNorth · 23/09/2020 20:13

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I’m just taking pregnacare. It’s got everything in it I ‘need’ (I took a multivitamin anyway due to being vegetarian/pretty much vegan), it’s safe to take while/pre TTC and it’s only £3.64 for 30 tablets on amazon... it ticks all my boxes! I’m only at the end of the first box though, so I can’t say whether it will affect my cycle or not.
My boyfriend isn’t taking anything at the moment. Maybe I’ll buy him a box for Christmas Wink

Mokoblack · 23/09/2020 21:06

@CookieMonster3001 not sure on ovulation yet but prior to the implant I would get strong ovulation pains so maybe they’ll come back.

I see lots of people talking about vitamins, I currently take vit d but thinking maybe I should add some folic acid?

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 23/09/2020 21:47

@thenewmrsw I don’t blame you, I feel the exact same, I think it’s going to be the same here soon... it’s just getting worse, we’re going back to how it was to start which really worries me. I think I actually feel worse mentally this time round compared to March as well. But you’re right.. we have all things TTC to keep is occupied!
The CoQ10 is meant to be really good for egg quality as well so I’ll prob end up sticking with that. What one will you get DH to take?

@msqueeninthenorth that’s so good isn’t it! When I hear the price difference I am tempted to take that instead tbh! Haha I like that idea.. wrap up a few boxes and stick them under the tree.

@mokoblack I’d start taking folic ASAP, there are plenty of benefits to taking it the main one being preventing spina bifida.

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 24/09/2020 07:57

AF has arrived 🥳 does anyone else just have awful cramps the day they come on? I feel like I could be sick. As soon as I track it in Flo and then look to see how the dates have changed for our first month TTC. It's pushed day of ovulation to 1st Feb which is when we are starting. Would make me 34 weeks as SIL wedding in Spain... but like @butterfly5291said not planning around that, it might not even go ahead!?

AMS19 · 24/09/2020 08:26

@sunflowersaremyfav93 yay!! I cannot wait to get my first AF so I have a better idea of timings. 34 weeks is absolutely fine, you just might have to be careful the following month so you don't have your due date or are over 37 weeks!

@Clouless thats fab it happened so quickly. Are you going to start tracking now?

@TheNewMrsW I would be so shocked if they didn't make an exception for Christmas day! I just don't see how they could police it because 99% of people would break the rules. We are due to have 10 at ours, goodness knows what we will do if it is no household mixing or max of 6. If that starts looking likely im not going to bother waiting and just get pregnant 😂

SparklePrincesss · 24/09/2020 09:30

Morning!! Sorry for not being chatty, I found I was already symptom spotting like a crazy person and technically we're not officially starting to ttc until after this af.

How's everyone doing?

AMS19 · 24/09/2020 10:19

@SparklePrincesss whens AF due?

SparklePrincesss · 24/09/2020 10:25

@AMS19 between next Wednesday and Saturday as my cycles vary from 27 days to 30. We were meant to be starting after this af due but then I realised we had bd in my estimated fertile week and then I'd spotting (guessing ovulation spotting) and now my boobs are tender amongst other things which isn't normal for me. I reallllllly want to test every day until af is due 🙈

How are you doing today?

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 24/09/2020 10:35

@SparklePrincesss so exciting! Must be hard to not test early though!!

SparklePrincesss · 24/09/2020 10:38

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I'm currently stalking my front door for my postie to deliver tests 🤣 oh and I have my legs crossed 🤣🙈 I think I may have to strike today off the list for testing and wait til tomorrow. Although if I use a tub I wonder would the sample be okay to use in 2-3 hrs 🤔😬😂

AMS19 · 24/09/2020 11:17

@SparklePrincesss oh wow yay super exciting!!!
I'm just casually waiting for the next 2 months to pass so I can start trying! It is so annoying planning trying around a holiday that probably won't even happen!

CookieMonster3001 · 24/09/2020 11:27

@AMS19 I feel like I was defo one of the lucky ones where my cycle literally went back to normal the second I came off the pill, but then I was only on the pill for around 3 years. It defo has made my period shorter, and my CM is a lot less than pre-pill. You're plan sounds perfect!! And you can use dry January as an excuse for why you wont be drinking!

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I am defo excited for all of us to get out BFP's. I feel like we have made a little pre-conception family and they are all graduating one by one! I have noticed I always feel worse a day or 2 before my period starts and the worst a couple of hours before AF arrives and then after that I am fine, just ravenous!

@thenewmrsw totally agree with feeling bummed out! We always do a huge family affair for Xmas and New Years and so gutted that I really dont think we are going to be able to do that this year. Its only a matter of weeks before England announces no mixing of families. The figures are insane! On the plus side, I dont (hopefully) need to worry about hiding the fact I am not drinking over the festive period!

@mokoblack I think folic acid and vit D are the only supplements that are generally recommended by the NHS so would defo recommend getting on the folic acid.

@sparkleprincesss ahh how exciting!! They say you can test from around 10/11DPO? Although if you are still waiting for your tests to arrive, I would probably just wait till tomorrow morning now!

AF is due Sunday/Monday and I am starting to get a couple of cramps here and there! Never have I been so excited for AF to arrive!! Once its here and gone, me and my future baby daddy can start getting down to business!!!

SparklePrincesss · 24/09/2020 11:32

Excited for you too @CookieMonster3001 How are you intending on tracking?

My postie has been and gone, no tests so I'll just have to wait as I'm shielding with my youngest as she has a hospital appointment next week so I can't get out to get tests. That'll teach me 🤣

CookieMonster3001 · 24/09/2020 11:53

@SparklePrincesss that's a good thing I guess!! You literally cannot test even if you want to! This would be a great idea for me if I didn't already have 3 clearblue pregnancy tests and 50 cheap strip tests haha

I think after AF has come and gone, I am going to start doing IC OPKS until I start getting a wiff of a second line and then I will do one in the morning and one at night alongside my clearblue ovulation kit so I can really pinpoint ovulation. I usually ovulate around CD 12 so I think we are going to start BDing from CD 9/CD11/CD12/CD13 and maybe one more after for good measure. Then luckily I have a busy week or two (hopefully) going away with the family and also with OH to stop me from testing, but I know what I am like and will prob start testing from 11DPO.

Don't know why the hell I am so nervous!

RandyGiles06 · 24/09/2020 12:02

Ha ha @sunflowersaremyfav93 I do the exact same when my AF comes and check when I’d ovulate in the first month we TTC... then I work out what my make believe due date would be if I was lucky enough to fall that month Grin

It’s so hard to not just start now, I’m waiting until December so that an event I have planned in summer I’m pregnant for rather than have a baby as realistically I couldn’t attend with a small baby, although now I’m thinking it would probably get cancelled if things don’t massively improve so I could be waiting for no reason! I do want there to be a few more months between my first and next so I don’t need to get a double buggy so that’s all that’s holding me back at the moment! My AF is due on Sunday so I’m looking forward to my next recalculation Grin
