@sunflowersaremyfav93 I don't know when scan will be I'll have to contact midwife today! I'm a massive worrier too, find it hard to get excited about things as negativity and worries take over so you're not alone there!

Puppies are bloody expensive, she's the most expensive thing I've bought apart from a car! My dad did tell me when I said how much the dog was that I could get a good car for that price 🤣

CookieMonster3001 · 22/09/2020 11:01

@sunflowersaremyfav93 awww so cute!! When do you get to take him/her home? I don't freak out as much as my OH does. I mean I do think about it, but I also know we have a lot of family that will help, along with a healthy savings account and 2 good jobs, but the whole situation with rona makes me a little nervous some times.

@heydw96 omg shes gorgeous! They do say the prices of dogs have now gone up haven't they!! Hope your call with the midwife goes well today. I am still waiting on our health centre to open as I am currently doctor-less!!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 22/09/2020 11:23

@HeyDW96 omg she is just adorable, what's her name? I know this isn't a dog thread but what are the essentials to buy for new pup? I have the basics listed, bed, bowls, training pads etc. wondered if I was missing anything obvious. Need to think about pet insurance too.
Funnily enough my friend was saying it's a great first step before baby to get me and my boyfriend used to having that kind of responsibility I'm so excited.
Isn't it horrible just always worrying! 😩 that's one of the things I hope our baby doesn't get from me.

@CookieMonster3001 It's all made much harder by Covid isn't it! I'm so lucky with family as well, we won't need to pay for any childcare, my mum and aunties will all be around to help us out will probably do one day a week at a nursery and I'll maybe go down one day a week at work. But I don't know why I'm thinking about that just yet, by the time I have the baby and mat leave has finished it'll be 2022 😂

HeyDW96 · 22/09/2020 13:07

@sunflowersaremyfav93 a crate, blankets for crate, plenty of toys with different textures for puppy to chew! Personally we have never used puppy pads for dogs but that's up to you! A collar and lead, tag with name and number on! You'll love it!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 22/09/2020 14:08

Thanks @HeyDW96 that's really helpful!

butterfly5291 · 22/09/2020 16:56

Covid strikes again....our wedding in December is now cancelled.
Seriously girls, do not put your baby plans on hold for anyone elses plans because who knows what will happen in the future.
If you and your partner are both healthy and want a baby....start baby dancing!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 22/09/2020 17:51

@butterfly5291 oh no I'm so sorry to hear that!! What a joke... I can't actually believe what is happening, we're going backwards instead of forwards. I'm sooo with you, not changing my baby plans for anyone!! 131 days to go....

Pebbleinthesand · 22/09/2020 20:17

I'm definitely in a feeling sorry for myself slump this week and work has been so hectic so I feel like I've barely had a moment to stop.

I think what's bothering me is that I was so sure of myself that I would be pregnant this month. I'd not even considered how I'd feel if I wasn't. In my head I was planning out every event in the next year of our lives including DDs birthday and a holiday next summer around having the baby that I'd convinced myself was there. I know I've not lost anything but I just can't help feeling so down about it. I feel like I don't want to go on about it too much to DH so you'll have to put up with me moping in here guys.

@AMS19 I'm definitely going to invest in a thermometer and try that. That was even if it doesn't happen this month at least I'll know when I ovulate.

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I'm pretty sure it was an early period because it's a lot heavier than the periods I've had since coming off the coil so I'm wondering if actually the other 2 weren't proper periods and just happened to be 28 days apart.
Aw how sweet that you're getting a puppy. What breed is it? I'd love one but DH says not until we don't have babies/toddlers running around as well. DD is scared of dogs so I don't want to wait until she's too old or she'll only get worse also I'd love a dog that I could run with so probably needs to be quite a big dog.

AMS19 · 22/09/2020 20:26

@butterfly5291 I'm so sorry!! Thats totally rubbish.

Just watched the broadcast. To put a positive spin on it, cause it is all doom and gloom, anyone now feel it would be the perfect time to get pregnant. If we are continuing to work form home until spring, which now looks likely, it would make the first 3 months when trying to hide it and feeling sick much much easier.... thoughts?

Mokoblack · 22/09/2020 20:43

Hi Ladies,

Can I join? As previously mentioned by others, I was planning to get married early next year but have decided to postpone to 2022, so will start trying for a baby in Oct!! Silver lining and all that.

AMS19 · 22/09/2020 21:05

@Pebbleinthesand that is totally understandable. But when it does happen, and it is a when, then it will be even more exciting because it didn't come super easy ♥️

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 22/09/2020 21:05

@Pebbleinthesand for what it's worth, I think the way you are feeling is just absolutely normal. I'm the type of person that has planned the next year if my life hypothetically..I think I'd be the exact same as you. I follow Frankie from the Saturdays on Insta she she was saying when she has a bad day mood wise if she can't get out of it with exercise she just accepts it is what it is.. sleeps it off and starts again. Get this period out the way, track, temp and then you've got this ❤️

He's a little cockapoo... I don't know how I managed to convince my bf but I'm so excited... prob a bit crazy having a pup and hopefully being pregnant in the next 6 months though!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 22/09/2020 21:06

Welcome @Mokoblack! Sorry you're having to postpone but exciting about the baby. Tell us a bit about you, is this your first?

Mokoblack · 22/09/2020 21:23

@sunflowersaremyfav93 Thanks!
It’ll be our first, had my implant taken out in August and waiting for my cycle to regulate. I’m also trying to drop some weight in the next few weeks before we start. Feel a bit nervous now it’s ‘real’

TheNewMrsW · 23/09/2020 08:45

@butterfly5291 aw I'm so sorry hun, I totally understand how you feel as we had to cancel our April wedding back in March. We had originally planned to reschedule to December but ended up doing it in August which I'm so thankful for now as I could not have stood cancelling twice, but who would have thought at the start of all this that we would still be in the situation all these months later! I know it might not be what you want but have you thought of just getting married with your close family there and then celebrating on a bigger scale later? Honestly the sense of relief I felt to have done the "getting married" bit was immense.

So the fertility monitor has shown me a high yesterday and today - estrogen rise but no LH surge yet. Will be interested to see how math high days I get before the peak day as this would be very early in my cycle to ovulate and no signs of EWCM yet.

TheNewMrsW · 23/09/2020 08:48

@AMS19 yeah I totally get you, we're in Scotland so banned from household visiting too and I just feel like we can't go anywhere or do anything so why wait but I think DH needs these extra couple of months to psych himself up lol!!!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 23/09/2020 09:24

@TheNewMrsW oh gosh, how are you finding it not being able to mix with other households? I'm surprised they haven't done that here in England tbh.. will you be able to spend Xmas with fam or will it still be in place by then?

AF is due today and omg my hormones are a joke... I literally cry when I watch the news, I'm sure my PMS has been worse since I've been taking these vitamins. Just want this period out the way so I'm one cycle closer.

butterfly5291 · 23/09/2020 09:48

@TheNewMrsW thank you...we are actually doing the legal bit in Oct...it was meant to be a formality but now we're going to treat it as more real..I'm even going to wear my real dress.
In terms of your high reading...I got a high reading for 5 days last month then peak for 2. I think it's normal to get a few days with high until it's worked your cycle out.
I'm still getting a high reading and nothin on OPKs and on CD18 ! My temp jumped today though but I'm also not feeling well so I literally have no idea what's going on. Think I'll just write this cycle off.

CookieMonster3001 · 23/09/2020 13:49

@sunflowersaremyfav93 nothing wrong with a little advanced planning! I do it all the time, this week I have been looking at baby clothes and top tips for newborns! OH saw and was goes 'let me impregnate you first woman!' haha

@butterfly5291 I am so sorry your wedding has been cancelled!! God knows what is going on at the moment, it just seems like this pandemic is out of control! And I really dont think Bojos announcement yesterday made any sense at all! I checked the figures and there were 5000 new cases yesterday. Thats around the same sort of numbers we were seeing at the beginning of this pandemic! And this is the worst time for it to hit, with winter approaching. Agree with you there, defo no point in waiting to see what happens.

@pebbleinthesand im so sorry you feel so down, I can completely imagine how hard it must be. TTC journeys are honestly probably the most stressful times of our lives and I think how you are feeling is totally normal. Keeping my fingers crossed for that BFP in your next cycle

@mokoblack welcome to the crew. There are quite a few of us starting our journey in Oct! Me being one :) Do you know what your ovulation dates are?

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 23/09/2020 14:07

@CookieMonster3001 haha I've def done all of that! I have stuff saved on Zara, thought about the baby's going home outfit too.. my bf thinks I'm crazy 😂

Can you ladies remind me what supplements you're taking please?

I'm taking, VitaDHA, CoQ10, Vit D and Folic and bf is on the Vitamen from Zita West.. works out at about £50 a month which we can afford but I'm thinking by the time I fall pregnant that's like £250 gone.. I could buy a Snuzpod for that.

Wondering if sticking to the standard pregnacare / seven seas for men are just as fine?

CookieMonster3001 · 23/09/2020 15:10

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I'm only taking folic acid, and vit D (twice a week because me being an idiot got a ridiculous high dosage) I don't want to take any more than is needed unless I really need to, so sticking with this, and if we have not conceived within 3-6 months, I will consider other supplements.

I am however trying to incorporate as much fruit and veg into my diet with the hopes I will get all the proper nutrients I need from 'eating the rainbow' (that saying really makes me cringe! lol)

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 23/09/2020 15:16

@CookieMonster3001 haha I'm also eating the rainbow 😂 I've become fruit and veg crazy! So thinking this additional expense isn't necessary. Does your husband take anything?

CookieMonster3001 · 23/09/2020 15:45

@sunflowersaremyfav93 nope! I don't think I would be able to convince him to either, but he's pretty healthy and fit, does a lot of exercise. The only think I have managed to get him to do is cut out the caffeine. Fingers crossed that is enough. He has said he doesn't want to take anything and just relax at first and if it doesn't work then he will consider taking supplements to help. I suppose it is easier for guys, they have that mentality that's like oh it will happen when it happens, just go with the flow, but I find it harder to be like that!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 23/09/2020 16:00

I had to really harp on before my boyfriend agreed to take the supplements, now I'm thinking maybe I was wrong.. esp 5 months before we were due to start. It's 4 months now though.. hmm I think I won't tell him I was wrong though 😂
