@HeyDW96 I don't honestly know! We're starting our ttc journey and I don't really understand it all yet and have been chasing my tail on google 🙈

mackjm20 · 16/09/2020 08:21

@florencesthoughts welcome :) glad to hear there is another ntnp :) re pregnancy tests I’m avoiding having any in the house until I miss a period (or at least that’s the plan) lol! Good luck :)

@bubblybrit so exciting that you have made the decision for number 2 though :) ah that’s good well fingers crossed then :) I’ve ordered the fermometer opks to start next cycle :)

@KittyT30 so nice to hear from you! Oh no so sorry to hear the symptoms have hit you so hard! You must be exhausted. Bless you do hope you are feeling better soon! Eek so exciting for the first scan :)

@TheNewMrsW love your non alcoholic H&M was it nice? Looks bloody amazing! Glad af finally arrived :) sounds like you have charting nailed! I can’t wait for af to arrive so I can chart properly this cycle :) so sorry to hear about the awful cramps!

@Pebbleinthesand gosh sounds so full on you must be so tired! How does it feel to be back teaching? Omgosh nightmare bojo cancelling the hen party! At least like you said you didn’t wait for it.

@HeyDW96 have you held off on testing? All sounds like good signs you have been having :)

@gems05 how are you feeling now? Bless you sounds like a horrid bug!

@sunflowersaremyfav93 that’s good that oh took the vitamins. That’s such a good way of explaining it! Technically on the tww although it doesn’t feel like it as we only dtd once in the window so I’m just classing it as waiting for af :) I haven’t noticed any symptoms and it would be like a miracle lol so just writing that one off :)

@CookieMonster3001 oo your weekend sounds so so nice :) minus the drinking and blisters lol! That’s good news about the strong opk :) thanks for the advice on the alarm :) that’s my plan each morning after af :) think I’m finally getting my head round it all :)

@queenatom
So glad that it seems your luteal phase is longer this is fantastic news! Fingers crossed for the next few days :) the tww sounds the actual worse bless you!

@SparklePrincesss welcome! You aren’t being silly at all it’s so easy to symptom spot think it’s natural and we all do it! Fingers crossed it’s a good sign :) it’s all so complicated isn’t it I get totally lost in google!

mackjm20 · 16/09/2020 08:30

So update for me... after being so good and healthy last week and planning a low key weekend I came home Saturday to a surprise girlie get together (my girls cheering me up as work has been next level stressful)! So drank alcohol and my diet has been one of combating a hangover since so very beige lol! I’m actually now relieved that there is next to no chance of bfp this month and dh (who knew about the party) said that’s why he was avoiding dtd lol! As didn’t want me to be panicking about drinking if we had done it any closer to ovulation (as we did it day one of window so like 5 days before). Feeling a lot better about the lame first shot at ntnp now ha ha!

We are away next cycle in our fertile window for a staycation for 10 days so hoping we will have better luck then especially with my new opks and thermometer:)

I can’t help thinking though that every tww I will be totally crazy! Even with that like 1% chance this cycle it’s vaguely in the back of my mind... if I had dtd everyday I would probs be wanting to test constantly. Does anyone know the earliest you can actually get a bfp? As at least that would maybe reign me in until that day lol. For everyone on a tww I send you all my love as I predict this to be a new form of mental torture xxx

butterfly5291 · 16/09/2020 08:51

@mackjm20 aww that's a lovely surprise from your friends and really sweet of DH too...you must be feeling better about DTD next cycle now.
Fertility friend gives you stats on what pregnancy test gets the earliest BFP and think it's FRER it says you can take 6 days before missed period. I think biologically the earliest you would potentially see a bfp is 9dpo but that is super early and would advise against testing then as more likely to feel disappointed but still might be pregnant. This cycle I'm going to hold out until at least 12dpo...which means if I ovulate when I'm meant to that I'll have to not drink over two weekends...which should aid the weight loss at least.

@SparklePrincesss it's really easy to symptom spot but it does sound like you are far too early in your cycle to be getting implantation bleeding and definitely too early to test. Can you post a pic of your Fertility friend chart and I can try help interpret it for you.

SparklePrincesss · 16/09/2020 09:04

@butterfly5291 it's not letting me attach photos 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I wonder would a desktop version let me

SparklePrincesss · 16/09/2020 09:09

@butterfly5291 🙈 desktop won't let me either

butterfly5291 · 16/09/2020 09:17

@SparklePrincesss have you uploaded too many photos? Think you can only do 10 in 24 hours

SparklePrincesss · 16/09/2020 09:20

@butterfly5291 no I haven't uploaded any. When I click the paperclip, then the + symbol it will only let me take a photo rather than take from camera roll. I'll have a look at settings, I've maybe downloaded the app the wrong way

butterfly5291 · 16/09/2020 09:39

@SparklePrincesss I don't think the app is very good. I use the website on my browser from my phone.

Eiremogra · 16/09/2020 09:48

Hi all, can I join this thread? Very new to MN, finding I’m having to run away and google a lot of the abbreviations so bare with me! I’m a 40yr old newbie TTC #1 and honestly am feeling a little lost and overwhelmed. Love this group, you all give such solid and positive advice! What supplements are you ladies taking? I’m on pregnacare+cod liver oil capsules...should I be taking anything else?

HeyDW96 · 16/09/2020 09:56

@mackjm20 will try to avoid testing early as it seems to cause a lot of upset especially with very faint lines then negatives, I've had a bad cold and felt pretty crap to be honest, no sign of AF and I'm now 9dpo. Would be very lucky to have conceived first time but my boobs are telling me that I have so I'm getting my hopes up already 🤦🏼‍♀️

Enjoy the staycation!

mackjm20 · 16/09/2020 10:30

@butterfly5291 it was honestly so sweet :) I’m feeling a little better about it all now :) how’s everything going for you? Where are you in the cycle now? Yes 12dpo sounds like a good idea :) o gosh! Yes absolutely I think alcohol affects weight loss so much!

@Eiremogra welcome :) you are in the right place :) I’m ok folic acid and vitamin d :)

@HeyDW96 yes 100 percent :) oh bless you! Ah I’m keeping everything crossed for you :) Thank you! Not for a few weeks yet but looking forward to it:)

Eiremogra · 16/09/2020 10:36

Thank you @mackjm20, I’ll get some Vit D. I’m 5DPO and getting blood tests done tomorrow. I think LFT,TFT,fasting glucose and hormone levels....been TTC for a year now.

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 16/09/2020 12:16

@Eiremogra Welcome! I'm taking, Folic, Vitamin D, Coq10, and DHA.

I'm feeling so fed up at the moment, 137 days until we start TTC and I just feel like it's ages away. I've got myself into a rut of not doing any exercise.. when I was in the office I'd at least walking to and from the station, to meetings etc but now I just feel so lazy.

@mackjm20 that is so seeet of your DH!! And how lovely of four friends as well.

@butterfly5291 I have the same as you last week... feeling absolutely vile in anything I wear and how I look!

I need to get myself moving, I'm really worried that despite how well I eat and how many supplements I take nothing can supplement a bit of exercise?!

CookieMonster3001 · 16/09/2020 12:37

@mackjm20 that sounds amazing! So lovely of your friends and DH to do that for you. And glad you are feeling much better about TTC the next cycle. Hopefully all goes well on your staycation and you get plentyyy of babydancing in!

@butterfly5291 @mackjm20 defo agree that holding out until 12DPO sounds like a good idea. From various things I have read, generally implantation only happens around 10DPO so any earlier than 12 might not pick anything up? Next cycle I don't think I am going to test until around 13-14 DPO around time period is due as I am petrified of getting a false positive or a chemical.

@SparklePrincesss I agree with the others, absolutely nothing wrong with symptom spotting, in fact I was also doing that before we had even starting TTC!

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I understand how you feel. It sometimes feels like every single day is dragging, but at the same time, this year is flying by. Hopefully the time will pass and you soon will get to TTC month before you know it! I get the feeling lazy bit as well. With my blooming toe all busted up, I have used it as an excuse not to go anywhere and eat a whole crap ton of terrible food!! Once you start to get up and go, you will feel much better for it. Just need to get back into the routine of it!

gems05 · 16/09/2020 13:02

@mackjm20 what a lovely surprise that they organised - tbh it sounds fab to just relax and let ur hair down a bit 🥂🎉

@SparklePrincesss welcome and good luck on ur journey - these bunch of ppl have been great to help understand everything TTC related so far. As for ur symptoms, I'd be torn between testing or kind of like "ignoring it" to not dwell on it 🥴

@CookieMonster3001 glamping! Ha, glad you had lush weekend (minus blisters!) I love camping - already warned DH I intend to take our lil one camping 😁

As for me, I'm tracking my opks - they are getting stronger by the day, so I've done a midday test today to start x2 a day now. Not sure if I've got a weird lil cramp to my right side - maybe ovulation cramp
As for my stomach bug, I caved on Sunday and had to go to the hospital urgent care - I have a bad case of food poisoning, so been signed off work for the week (been off since last Tuesday) and absolutely loving the co-codamol for the night cramps 😴😴😴
plus my dog is loving the extra attention ❤️

Sorry if TMI-
But today I'm trying a day without any painkillers to see if I can go toilet normally - which is why the right sided twinge might be bowel related or ovulation - don't know yet

My DH is being a star with DTD with not much romance this week - done mon/tues, think he can have a rest tonight 😂 but as I'm tracking the opks, I'm hoping end of the week is peak - Femometer reckons Thursday is ovulation day whereas FF reckons Saturday

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 16/09/2020 14:19

@CookieMonster3001 You're is right, and actually the year has absolutely flown by so I can't complain at all and 138 really isn't a long time at all. I just need to use this time wisely to get my body fit.. don't they say g fit can make birth a little bit easier as well?

I went for a 20 mins walk in my lunch break and felt so much better for it, amazing that just a 20 mins (very) brisk walk had a positive effect. Going to make an effort to do some kind of exercise every day.

Eiremogra · 16/09/2020 16:47

I’ve felt pretty sluggish for last few months tbh - I need to get back to some exercise. As well as obvious benifits,I feel it may help to distract me from constantly mulling over TTC. Hoping all blood tests tomorrow come back N. DP had SA results last week and They came back N. I’m overthinking now about all the things that could be ‘wrong’ :(

bubblybrit · 16/09/2020 19:06

@mackjm20. What a lovely surprise 😀 so glad that you had a great time. TTC can be stressful so you definitely need days like that! First Response have an early detection test which allows you to test 6 days before AF due. They are quite pricey though so not great if you are a POAS addict lol 😂

bubblybrit · 16/09/2020 19:23

Welcome @Eiremogra. The only supplements I took with DD (and have began taking again whilst preparing to TTC in the new year) is seven seas pre conception folic acid. I think that this also contains vitamin D!

Amy929292 · 16/09/2020 21:24

Hi everyone 😊 I don't often post but I check in every day to see how everyone's getting on.

Today has been a big day as we've decided to TTC this cycle!! I came off the pill on July 24th, had a withdrawal bleed on July 26th and then nothing until today, 53 days later, AF has arrived! It feels good to know my body is doing something!

We were going to start TTC after our wedding but as that is now only 17 days away we've decided to start from now once AF has finished. As this will only be my second cycle after stopping the pill we have no idea how long it will be or when I will ovulate so just going to BD lots until my next AF. Hopefully the wedding and honeymoon will boost the romantic mood!

I use a few apps to track symptoms and CM but I'm holding off temping or OPKs until we've been trying a bit longer as I can get very obsessive very easily!! This thread has been fab for tips and recommendations and it's so lovely knowing others are in the same boat 😊 hope we get some more BFPs soon! Xx

Pebbleinthesand · 16/09/2020 22:24

Technically on TWW now but I've not really started symptom spotting yet. I've got loads on in the next week and a half including my laser eye surgery so I'm hoping all that will keep my mind off it.

@mackjm20 I'm knackered tbh. Glad to be out of (what I think) my furtile window so we can give DTD a rest 😂. Unfortunately watching out for Covid doesn't mean the usual back to school illnesses have gone away. My throat is killing me and my head is banging. Glad I only do 3 days. We've had 2 children from my class sent home because a family member has symptoms too so it's a bit worrying.

Good luck with your test results @Eiremogra. It must be so stressful waiting to find out.

AMS19 · 17/09/2020 07:19

Hi Guys, can I please join?

I am 32 and came off the pill last Sunday. I think I will get my withdrawal bleed today as I am feeling very bloated with some small pain.

My plan is to then use condoms until my first proper period (as a cruise in May means I can't get pregnant just yet) but then start trying from my first proper period, whenever that may be!

Did anyone else come off the combined pill? If so, how long was it for periods to normalise?

I have bought OPKs and a BBT thermometer (one to 2DP). I only planned to use this for the first couple of months to get to know my cycle and what is going on then try and stop so I am not too obsessed and clinical about it all - probably wishful thinking!

You all seem like a lovely bunch of girls and I really feel like having people to talk to through this journey would be fab!

TTCWC2 · 17/09/2020 08:08

Hey ladies, This space has been so great for sharing tips and tricks so I just wanted to let you know about something I came across last week and I've found really insightful for TTC. Rhinutrition have released a podcast mini series on spottily from nutrition for TTC through time weaning. I listened to the TTC one on a walk last week and was so useful and lots of tips for assisting fertility via diet. I found it helpful and really motivating so wanted to share it with you all. Hope you're all ok and your TTC journeys are going well. Countdown is on for Dec over here. Can't wait to start Smile
