@Pebbleinthesand I think (if I got it right) that I'm 4dpo, so 10 days! I could test earlier but don't want to test fate, I want to see what happens as there are definitely things happening that I haven't had for 8 years because of the pill! My nipples are so sore, if I come up against something they hurt, and I've had lots of gummy, thick, white discharge since ovulation!

Pebbleinthesand · 11/09/2020 21:56

That makes sense @olderthanyouthink. Being a teacher I always wanted a September baby so they'd be the oldest in the year until we actually decided we wanted a baby and I realised I didn't want to wait and it wasn't that big a factor for me. DD is a June baby and I'd love another June baby this time 🤞 but I don't know that I'd feel the same about 31st August so completely get where you're coming from.

How exciting @HeyDW96! I know I won't be able to help symptom spitting by this time next week 😂.

olderthanyouthink · 11/09/2020 22:02

@Pebbleinthesand DD was ancident and born at a busy time of year so kinda hoping to avoid November this time but not a big deal.

When I was at school I had a couple August born friends, never saw them for birthdays so they rarely had parties or got presents from friends until their were older and one of them was among the cleverest in the year (I think the childishness was parenting not birth month by GCSEs!)

gems05 · 11/09/2020 22:12

Thanks to everybody wishing me better... it's working! Other than gurgling this morning, no more toilet rushing, so hoping it's the turnaround now for this bug!

At least I hope it's just the bug and not the pregnacare vitamins as the last one I took was Wednesday am.
I'm going to test the theory of the vitamins by giving myself a few days off to make sure I'm 100% again, and try one again like mid next week 🤔

Typically I want to be making sure I'm taking the vitamins as next week / weekend could be my window 😉

gems05 · 12/09/2020 08:23

Nope it's defo not the vitamins... spoke too soon 😩

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 12/09/2020 09:53

@mackjm20 he ended up taking one yesterday without me asking, just hope he carries on without me having to nag. I ended up explaining it by saying...I don’t like fish so my body doesn’t have any goodness of the fish and during the first trimester our baby will be taking all of my nutrient reserves..and he said well then you should omega 3 and I said BINGO so the nutrients your body might be missing to produce healthy sperm you’ll get from the vitamins.. Let’s see how long it lasts. Are you on the TWW now? How exciting, will you test before AF is due or wait to see what happens?

@kittyt30 oh gosh I hope those symptoms lessen soon for you! Hope the scan goes well too, will you be finding out the gender at any point?

@mommabear20 Have you looked in to Slimming World?

@gems05 gosh you poor thing, it sounds absolutely awful!! It’s been a few days now as well hasn’t it?! Hope it passes soon.

gems05 · 12/09/2020 19:38

@sunflowersaremyfav93 yes it has been almost a week - which annoys me more and more each day that I'm still suffering coz I want to DTD this coming week. And I don't want to be on antibiotics or whatever when TTC

Typically the OPK is getting stronger already! So according Femometer next week is defo looking to be ovulation time - just a bugger that my temp is all over the shop cos of the stomach virus to confirm it for sure

AF finally arrived today, along with a definite drop in BBT this morning, so I am feeling a bit more confident about charting now. Even though we aren't ttc quite yet I am excited to be at the start of a new cycle finally so I can start playing with OPKs and my fertility monitor😂

butterfly5291 · 13/09/2020 19:02

@TheNewMrsW yay! Glad she finally arrived... you'll be hoping she doesn't in a few months!

TheNewMrsW · 13/09/2020 20:44

@butterfly5291 now mildly regretting my impatience for her to arrive as I'm now in the grip of the most horrific cramps I've had for quite some time! 😖😂

CookieMonster3001 · 14/09/2020 10:52

Morning all! how was everyones weekend??
I had a great weekend, went up to Taunton for a bit of glamping which was so relaxing (bar all the drinking!) walked about 40km in total and totally beaten up my feet, blisters and bruises all over meaning I am limping around!! But a weekend away full of drinking and eating with friends was a great way to relax and now its over, time to cut the alcohol out and really start focusing on getting myself as healthy as possible. I got back yesterday and took an OPK straight away and after 3 months, I finally got a super clear positive! So glad I decided to get the easy@home strips instead because they are defo easier to read!

@mackjm20 im sure everyone has already told you this but I set an alarm for 7am every morning and take my temperature. For me now its more about looking for a trend rather than analysing every single temperature. They say you should have a solid 3-4 hours sleep before taking your temp, but this has never really affected me much, for me its more making sure that I take it at the same time every day (give or take 5-10 minutes). At the moment, I am using onestep and easy@home OPKs and I use one everyday between CD 6-10 and then 2 a day onwards (aiming for around 12pm and 5pm). The month I am going to really focus on TTC then I will also use the clearblue ovulation sticks once I start noticing my LH levels increase so I really dont miss the ideal time. Thats about it really!

@thenewmrsw Glad AF finally showed up!!

@Iamfoureels a plastic shot glass to catch your wee? You must have incredibly good aim, I use a large coffee lid and I still sometimes pee all over my hand haha. At first I was grossed out, but then I thought whatever, I'll have to deal with worse when I give birth and need to clean baby poop. Counting it towards my mummy training LOL

@queenatom welcome back! Hows the TTC and the TTW going?

@kittyt30 how exciting about your scan next week! Glad your doing well despite all the symptoms! My older sister lived off ham sandwiches and orange juice for about 4 months!

queenatom · 14/09/2020 11:09

Hi @CookieMonster3001 - currently 9DPO and waiting. Last two cycles AF has appeared at this time so if nothing else pleased that my luteal phase might be getting a little longer. Cracked and tested this morning - BFN, not a surprise as its still fairly early - so we'll see what the next few days bring!

RandyGiles06 · 14/09/2020 11:26

Haha @CookieMonster3001 I have a special cup that I keep in a bathroom drawer for POAS from last time Grin it’s a lot bigger than a shot glass! Is luteal phase the time between ovulation and AF? I think mines 2 weeks because there’s pretty much exactly 2 weeks between the day I get lots of EWCM and the start of AF. That seems pretty static but the time between the end of AF and ovulation seems to vary which seems to determine the length of my cycle. I haven’t actually tracked ovulation so I’m just going by CM. I wish I was one of these people who had exactly the same cycle length each week, I’ll be a wreck when I come to TTC!

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend Smile definitely time to test those feet today!

CookieMonster3001 · 14/09/2020 12:57

@queenatom keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@RandyGiles06 the luteal phase is the time between ovulation and your period starting. 2 weeks is about right, and should generally stay each month (give or take a day or so on either side) The time between your first day of your period and ovulation is your follicular phase, and this can vary much more depending on when you ovulate. My FP tends to be around 12-14 days and my LP is usually 13 - 14 days, but I do get a month randomly where I have ovulated late and caused a 30 day cycle, but generally they are 27 - 28 for me.

I found I don't really get much visible CM and I never really get a lot of EWCM, mine tends to be more watery and I hear so many different things on this forum that watery CM isn't the most fertile or that EWCM and watery CM are both as fertile as each other. It can get very confusing!!!

RandyGiles06 · 14/09/2020 13:14

@CookieMonster3001 it’s so interesting how our bodies work isn’t it! My cycles vary somewhere between 25 & 30 days, though in the last few months they’ve been 25-27 days. I don’t get a lot of CM either, sometimes I don’t see any at all! I always get EWCM though so it’s really easy for me to tell when I’m in my “fertile window” TTC is so bizarre isn’t it, I’ve never given CM any thought until now when I’m borderline obsessed Grin

queenatom · 15/09/2020 11:40

Hey gang, just checking in - how's everyone doing this sunny Tuesday?

This TWW is starting to get to me now - 10DPO (longest luteal phase so far!), no sign of AF and my temperature chart has been marked as possible triphasic by Fertility Friend. Distractions welcomed!

CookieMonster3001 · 15/09/2020 12:24

@RandyGiles06 very strange!! Ive read a lot about ways to get CM flowing but I really just don't want to keep buying stuff, so think need to reign it in and if I'm not pregnant by December I might consider some more supplements!

@queenatom that's sounding promising!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you, you will have to keep us all updated! If anything, at least your luteal phase is getting longer!

SparklePrincesss · 15/09/2020 19:21

Hi everyone, I'm new on here and ttc. May I join you all? So I'm usually on average a 30 day cycle. My partner and I are just starting out on our ttc journey, he's mid 40's and I'm late 30's so unsure if we're fertile enough. We DTD on Sunday evening and today I've had very slight pink discharge. I'm on cycle day 12 and had watery discharge from cycle day 8. We haven't been testing for ovulation yet as we weren't organised this month to start. But I've already got my hopes up that it could be a good sign as I don't normally spot this early in a cycle, if I get spotting then it's usually 7 days before my period arrives so this is really early this month if it's just spotting. Am I just being silly, I feel like I am! All advice welcome!!

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 15/09/2020 20:30

@SparklePrincesss Welcome! That's exciting, I'd be the same as you. Are you going to do a test?

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 15/09/2020 20:34

@SparklePrincesss Also I wouldn't say that your age would contribute to infertility at all, for men it doesn't really matter their sorry refreshes all the time and for women I think 30s is also completely fine. Do you take any supplements?

SparklePrincesss · 15/09/2020 20:38

@sunflowersaremyfav93 Thankyou! I'm excited. I don't know if I should do a test and when I could test at the earliest. Fertility friend is saying my period is due 4th October. I'm taking iron and just today started folic acid because of this random pink stuff. It's not like my normal spotting, it's literally vague baby pink but enough for me to notice. I put a tampon in and straight out and there was a def pinky tone. I'm already crazy and we've not really properly started 🙈🤣

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 15/09/2020 20:51

Ooh that's interesting, I don't know much about implantation bleeding but if that doesn't usually happen to you that it's def interesting! I usually ovulate around CD14/15 but I guess it all depends on your cycle length. Have you googled it? You'll have to let us know when you do a test.. how brilliant would that be if you for a positive before really trying properly

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 15/09/2020 20:52

@SparklePrincesss forgot to tag you in my response below 🙈

SparklePrincesss · 15/09/2020 20:59

@sunflowersaremyfav93 11-16th are the fertile windows my fertility friend has tracked in the past (I use it to track my cycles even before ttc) this month it's saying cd 13-16th which would be tomorrow to Saturday but because I noted watery cf on Friday (cd8) it's extended my fertile window from then. I'm so confused and have already ran away in my head with excitement 🙈

HeyDW96 · 15/09/2020 21:23

@SparklePrincesss if you ovulated on Sunday when you dtd, would it be possible to have implantation bleeding today? Implantation usually occurs 6-10 days after conception I think. Unless you ovulated earlier!
