@MimiArm the drugs wouldn't have worked though if you took them at the wrong time? You just your body to reset though so you know when cd1 is! How frustrating.

The woman on the phone was like- well we can reschedule your day 21 if you think it'll not be the right day. I was like- ill only know it was the wrong day when AF arrives? 🙄 Unless I'm psychic. My cycles are fairly consistent but even I'm a day out guessing sometimes. So how on earth they manage with people who's are all over? Be interesting to see what my test shows as I'm still spotting and I've had stomach ache since last week? Its really faint but it is there. I've always suspected I've got low progesterone so be interesting to see.

@Juno231 nosebleed very odd! But agree night be too early to test.

@MrsTwentyEight dtd loads doesn't matter much as long as you do it at least once a couple of days before. So prioritise that bit and don't worry. We only really did it once I think (as I intended that). But usually we do every other day and it's never made any difference yet. 🤣

paintfairy · 28/09/2020 16:01

@Juno231 nhs app? That sounds sophisticated. I just got a letter. 😆

paintfairy · 28/09/2020 16:03

@Juno231 mine took 2 weeks and 2 days, if that helps?

Juno231 · 28/09/2020 16:04

@paintfairy yeah I BBT and OPK and had to reschedule my day 21 test three times so god knows how people do it otherwise. Ha you need to sign up for the nhs app - it's brilliant though, I've had the day 3, 21 and US results on it the very next day.

paintfairy · 28/09/2020 16:11

@Juno231 didn't even know it existed. I've just looked. Which one is it?

Juno231 · 28/09/2020 16:46

@paintfairy it's just called "NHS App" on my android. It is a bit faffy to set up as it needs you to do a couple of things like take pics of ID and take a video of you saying stuff - then the GP practice confirms it's okay and THEN you can ask your reception to approve that your medical records are visible via the app. All got done the same day for me though and it contains everything I've ever done on the NHS.

It also means I got my full results on my hormone tests rather than just the GP giving a bland "all within normal range" answer, which would have driven me mad :)

MrsTwentyEight · 28/09/2020 17:46

@paintfairy ahh you're right. I am sure I OV-ed today as I had the classic cramps and my OPK flashed static. So I would have to hope the swimmers from this morning are enough -_- I keep OV-ing earlier each month!

This NHS app sounds pretty cool!

paintfairy · 28/09/2020 22:36

@Juno231 definitely sounds useful and I'm the same- like to see the results and judge for myself! I never saw my day 2 blood test from last time. But it was apparently fine so I expect the next to be. The day 21 I'm not so sure. But it is hard to guess when it'll be because its hard to know when you ovulate to the second! I'm still confused about when I did.

I wish these cramps would do one though. I'm away and clearly not interested in my OH! Good to have a break though.

@MrsTwentyEight fingers crossed!

Juno231 · 29/09/2020 10:23

@paintfairy well from what I gather your last day 2 ones would be on there for you to see still :)

11DPO and BFN so I think I'm gearing up for cycle 10 now. Nose bleed was just another fluke thing to add to my TWW false alarms!

@MrsTwentyEight that's so annoying re the ovulation! Fingers crossed you caught it anyway.

This will make you laugh ladies
I’m reading the book “The Impatient Woman’s Guide to Getting Pregnant” and it says not to listen to people that say “stop thinking about it and it will happen”. It’s actually a pretty good book! It debunks some myths like stats about age affecting fertility. Apparently it comes from 17th century French birth records! Outdated much!

Juno231 · 29/09/2020 13:08

@MrsTwentyEight ha yeah I've read about the french birth records before! My AMH is on the low end at age 32 already though so I reckon if I'd waited until I was eg 38 I'd have a really hard time of it tbh...

OP posts:
paintfairy · 29/09/2020 15:40

@Juno231 I'll have a go at seeing if I can register.
Rubbish about the BFN. I'm sure these symptoms are sent to try us!

@MrsTwentyEight age must affect it to a degree? Teenagers have no trouble! I think i should have started trying when I was 20. 🤣 No idea what my AMH is. Could have same issue @Juno231

Juno231 · 29/09/2020 16:46

@paintfairy yeah I checked mine in June last year but I think it's time for me to check it again as it can change year on year. I'm not sure it has affected my lack of BFP u[p until now but it affects how long I have to waste/how successful IVF would be so better get that baby before it's too late.

OP posts:
MrsTwentyEight · 29/09/2020 21:09

@paintfairy the book basically says that the stats on how difficult it is after 35 is over exaggerated and based on very old data but yes it is slightly more difficult according to the book!

@Juno231 ahh that’s so good that you’ve had all this checked out though! I’m just waiting around not knowing if anything is wrong. Not even sure what to count as “trying” as I realise we are only DTD-ing a few times in FW but not really regularly. Why do me and DH have jobs with long hours 😭 Ugh!

paintfairy · 29/09/2020 21:33

@MrsTwentyEight I know some people that have struggled before 35 even. And some older that have managed ok! So I really think a lot of it isn't age, its just you have a problem or you don't.

My dr just said regular dtd - nothing manic. So theoretically if you dtd just sometimes during fw that should be enough. Only takes once after all.

I'm questioning whether I could even cope with a child tonight. When they have a mind of their own. People are such arseholes. We are on holiday with the dog and we couldn't even manage a meal in a pub without issue. Never mind screaming kids. 😂 (Dog wasn't actually doing anything wrong. He was stood next to our table but looking at someone on the next one (which given covid, was too close in fact). So I ended up having to wedge him between my legs and keep him there to avoid another bollocking from the knob on the next table. The table the other side of us was even closer so he couldn't go there either. Not a pleasant eating experience because I was then stressed. Good job he's not a German shepherd or I'm not sure what I could have even done about it!) I hate people.......

MrsTwentyEight · 29/09/2020 23:39

Ahh @paintfairy people are arseholes sometimes
They shouldn’t even go to restaurants if that’s their attitude as surely that in itself increases risk. Or they are accepting of the risks and just out to have a meal in which case they need to shut the hell up! Don’t take it to heart. You were kind enough to do what you did with the dog!

paintfairy · 30/09/2020 08:08

@MrsTwentyEight I'm guessing he hated dogs. But i would have never have said anything in his position. I usually smile at the dog and ask if it's alright. 😂 Even before we had one.

MimiArm · 30/09/2020 12:31

@paintfairy What a knob. Dogs are clearly allowed in the pub so you shoulda just let your dog stare at him (and hopefully drool too). If yer man didn't like it, he shoulda picked a non dog friendly pub and fecked off there. What a twat.

paintfairy · 30/09/2020 15:02

@MimiArm I hate issues so I just tried to avoid conflict. But yes I should have told him to F right off. I can't help him looking. He's not a drooly dog luckily. 🤣 But it was a dog friendly pub and there was a carpet side where they weren't allowed. The first 2 nights we had no issue at the other places. But it's all new to me, as its not something we've done before. I thought he was good considering! The only issue we have is he won't lie down on a hard floor. So he stands. It put me off a little though! We did go in a cafe today though and they were lovely so it made me feel a bit better.

MimiArm · 30/09/2020 16:38

@paintfairy I'm glad todays venture went better. I'm the same - I'm all talk from behind my phone but I hate confrontation as well so probably would have been on edge too in the circumstance. He sounded like a gobshite though so putty your dog isn't a drooler haha.

Every time we eat here we have 8 eyeballs stalking us- 6 doggy eyeballs and 2 feline eyeballs. It's annoying haha.

If we had have been there, there would be no food on yer mans plate - our black dog would have seen to that. She side swipes people's plates when they aren't looking hahaha!

@MimiArm @paintfairy I'm so jealous of your doggies! I wish I had one but I don't know if I can if I'm out of the house from 8-6 :(

OP posts:
paintfairy · 30/09/2020 17:10

@MimiArm Oh they are hairy things like mine. How cute. 🤣 No idea what breed mine is though. I don't think he'd take food and at home he will lie down when we eat. He's never fed from the table. But he's a rescue so we don't know his history. He stood quietly so I thought he was pretty good. My old dog would have whined the whole time so we could never do it with him.

At least my mind hasn't been on the 2ww. Blood test tomorrow!

paintfairy · 30/09/2020 17:12

@Juno231 we only got ours a few months ago. We both wfh at the moment. I usually wfh anyway though 2-3 days a week and my mum will look after him on office days. So even after covid he'll be alright. I'm very lucky though, I know. He's not a young dog though, as I was scared to assume this would be the case for another 12 years or more!

MimiArm · 30/09/2020 17:16

@paintfairy Oh, he's a cutie pie. Such gentle little eyes - aww.

Our blonde curly haired big boy is a rescue. He is very polite when we are eating but he's completely bonkers in social situations.

@Juno231 A pup would be difficult with your hours but an older dog would probably enjoy the peace and quiet. Before we had the two blonde dogs, our black and white dog went to doggy day care during working hours, twice a week to break the week up. In time though as she got older I found she liked the quiet time. She gets no peace now though since the little blonde one came along. She just wants to play ALL the time.

Juno231 · 30/09/2020 17:39

@MimiArm @paintfairy that's good to know that maybe an older dog would work. Tbh I was thinking of a greyhound rescue rather than a pup - that way it's a breed that likes to sleep a lot and barely needs any walks so shouldn't pine for me when I'm out of the house.

I'm also secretly hoping I'll be able to wfh 2 days a week even after all this is over!
