@MimiArm really good to hear that! Glad you're all settled in into your new 🏡 Sounds like a good decision re: Clomid

So I'm back already ladies as the month after I said we won't "try" we ended up trying the most in a sense 😂 Not ONLY that...I've spent £249 on the Ava bracelet and I don't even know why....

I bought it as a "it will be useful in august when I TTC again" but it started showing me a pattern on my RHR and temp and decided ...screw it let's go Blush

Hope you're all keeping well! I may join some other threads too considering I'm well and truly in the crappy 2WW again ...Hmm

paintfairy · 08/05/2021 10:40

@MimiArm great about the house move. I agree about the tablets. Don't waste them, let your body sort itself out. You might find it even manages to do what it should be doing!?
I had my first IUI last cycle. CD3 here today. 🙄 I did call them yesterday to see if we can do IUI this month but they didn't call back and I'll be CD5 by Monday (they started scanning CD4 last time). I can't do June so it'll be July I guess?
@MrsTwentyEight 🤣 trying not trying. Funny. Fingers crossed!

MrsTwentyNine · 12/05/2021 19:30

I am in shock ladies
I just got a BFP 😭 I can't believe it...
This must be a dream
I won't get excited until I confirm with a digital and AF doesn't show Monday ...
This can all just end tomorrow 😟

Juno231 · 12/05/2021 22:24

@MrsTwentyNine shut the front door!!! Pics?! Tell us all about it! Congratulations 🎊!!! But also LOL at the ava purchase not lasting very long 😅 - still much cheaper than any fertility appointments though!

@MimiArm hello! Sounds like holding off on your limited clomid tries was a good idea this cycle. I had a laparoscopy a few weeks back. They found some endometriosis on my left ovary but nothing really that would explain why I havent caught yet so ivf is the next stop for me 🤷‍♀️. Got a meeting on the 17th June with the fertility clinic but I'm not sure what's happening then.

In the meantime I'm on cycle 18, CD8 and waiting for FW to start!

Thank you ❤️ How are you ??

Ahh ...pic..
I can't quite believe it ?!

MrsTwentyNine · 13/05/2021 05:27

Omg BFN this morning!!!
Are you joking! What is this madness Sad

MrsTwentyNine · 13/05/2021 08:51

Well that was a short lived dream everyone
All tests negative this morning
Never trusting the one test brand!!

MimiArm · 13/05/2021 10:45

@MrsTwentyNine - Aw, no way. That's so cruel if yesterday's test was a dud. I'm sure you're gutted today. Are you ok?

Keep testing (as I'm sure you already will) as you never know. I would try again at different times of the day.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that something shows up 🤗

MrsTwentyNine · 13/05/2021 15:21

@MimiArm it's nothing compared to an actual loss of course and I have no right to be upset but it feels like there was so much hope for about 12 hours and someone came along and just popped that balloon!

Ah well. C'est la vie ...

It was happiness beyond measure while it lasted and I guess I'll be more weary of IC ones in the future.

How are you doing ?

MimiArm · 13/05/2021 17:30

@MrsTwentyNine Oh, don't feel you have to minimise it. You had a positive test in your hand after all this time so of course you would have been crushed this morning to get negatives, having been so happy and excited last night. Anyone would feel the same way. That's really, really crushing.

I'm fine - same old. Appointment is two weeks away. Have no idea where I am in cycle as period lasted not even a day. If I used that as day 1, then I'm day 6 today but I've had EWCM everyday for the past two weeks 🤷‍♀️ who the frig knows

Juno231 · 14/05/2021 13:08

@MrsTwentyNine that's madness! Have you checked again? Maybe your results are stronger in the evening? If not then DAMN what a cruel joke?!

OP posts:
paintfairy · 14/05/2021 20:07

@MrsTwentyNine omg. What on earth? I can never get a line on those bloody tests. And it does look to have colour too? Maybe check again? Some people do get better results if they don't use FMU?

Juno231 · 18/05/2021 16:38

@MrsTwentyNine did you have any luck?

OP posts:
MrsTwentyNine · 18/05/2021 18:47

Oh ladies that was a false positive
What an absolute joke Angry
AF arrived today ...
Sad

Juno231 · 19/05/2021 11:09

@MrsTwentyNine I've never seen anything that bad on an IC before! I'm so sorry, that would have made me have a meltdown I think.

1DPO here, cycle 18. Can't believe I'm still here ffs! Feeling very resigned atm.

OP posts:
MrsTwentyNine · 20/05/2021 07:26

Big hug @Juno231

I think after that, I'm never testing early ... Need to ring GP to sort out bloods next month

Where are you at currently @Juno231 in terms of tests etc ?

MimiArm · 07/06/2021 14:54

Hello ladies @paintfairy @Juno231 @MrsTwentyNine

We've all gone very quiet. I suspect we are all well fed up by now.

I (finally) had my appointment at the new fertility clinic on Saturday. The new consultant said that my high AMH (32) almost certainly means I have PCOS and was pretty frustrated that the old clinic had never told me that. I'm booked in for a HyFoCy foam sonogram in 2 weeks to check for polyps, fibroids, and a tube test. Also to check the follicle count as the last clinic didn't put that in the results either 🙄

Also, I've been spotting for months now everyday and there is an unpleasant smell (🙈) so he thinks I have retained tissue from the MMC and an infection. He was also annoyed that I wasn't scanned again or given routine antibiotics after the MMC.

So, £200 for saturdays appointment and £600 for the scan in 2 weeks. He's asked me to get up to date FSH done at GP this week.

After this, we then choose either IVF to start in 6 weeks (hopefully), or one month of Gonal F injections followed by IVF of the Gonal F doesn't work. Gonal F is £1050 a month, IVF is £5500.

NHS have forgotten about me and I've turned 40 now, so fat chance they will call for me now.

How are you all getting on? What's been happening?

paintfairy · 07/06/2021 14:58

@MimiArm NHS varies. It is 40 where I am but that's for ivf. They'll still do the other stuff. Did you chase them?
Nothing happening here. CD7 for me. Can't do iui this month, as I'm away from Thursday. I'll call next month to see if they can fit me in. But I've kind of lost the will to live with it.

Juno231 · 07/06/2021 15:21

@MimiArm hearing how rubbish everyone's medical interactions are just angers me so much... I can't believe no one has flagged the potential for pcos, the missed product, no word from the NHS etc - it's just so... defeating? Feels terrible either way.

I really hope they can just get you sorted with IVF soon and I'm glad they sound a lot more on the ball? Might be worth writing a review post on the infertility thread about the previous clinic for future ladies searching? I found a terrible thread about a clinic not far from me that I'm really grateful for as it means I'm staying well clear of it now.

You're right though, I'm just fed and plodding along...

@MrsTwentyNine Did you call the GP to arrange for tests? In terms of tests I've had everything done that can be done by the NHS so I'm just waiting for an IVF referral. I have an appointment on the 17th so am hoping we can start the funding application then.

Cycle 19 now and I seem to have thrush again for the third time since Feb and second time in a month. Will try and get a gp appointment to see if they can do anything.

Juno231 · 07/06/2021 15:21

fed up*

OP posts:
MimiArm · 07/06/2021 15:59

@paintfairy - I did chase the NHS but nothing. It's not well funded over here - I've been told by the private consultants that I'd be 50 by the time I'm called for so to forget about it. That's a shame you can't have IUI this cycle. You sound deflated.

@Juno231 - I think I will post a review about the first clinic. My new GP called me back there as I needed to bring him up to speed and book in for the blood tests and swab test. I had to spell out FSH blood test and he asked what AMH stood for. I doubt there will be any free GP help. He told me PCOS is caused by eating too much sugar so I should immediately cut out all sugar from my diet - W T F. I'm pretty such it's caused by a hormonal imbalance but hey, what do I know 🙄🙄

How long do you think you'll be waiting for IVF? Any gauge?

Our quandary is do we blow all our savings for one IVF attempt or do we try a month of injections? The consultants words were (you can have 6 months of what you could achieve in one month, but I take your point that injections might work". If we try IVF and it doesn't work, we've ran out of money and I'll be devastated ...

Juno231 · 07/06/2021 16:13

@MimiArm haha oh my word he did not say all that! I thought PCOS sufferers often have to cut back on sugar/carbs as the increase in androgens make you more insulin resistance but it doesn't CAUSE pcos ffs.

Gonal F might help you get a BFP but I guess at your and OH's age it's more likely to MC? Whereas IVF will pick out good quality embryos and if OH's swimmers are struggling they can improve your chances further with ICSI? So sounds like IVF will have the better odds at a live birth perhaps. My two cents without being an expert of course!

OP posts:
MimiArm · 07/06/2021 16:21

@Juno231 I swear, that's what he said. Unreal. You've hit the nail on the head. IVF is deffo best chance of a live birth. And since DH has poor morphology, they could use ICSI as well. It's just the thought of putting all of our eggs in one basket, pun intended haha. The consultant said that my high AMH is no better than someone with a really low AMH. It's all about that egg quality isn't it and I couldn't bear to miscarry again.

paintfairy · 08/06/2021 14:06

@Juno231 I've got slight thrush too. Annoying! Whacked some cream on and hoped for the best. I find that makes things worse if I use too much though. Fine balance.
@MimiArm I'm just bored of it i think. I wish I could go straight to ivf rather than jumping through hoops. I also spotted for 15 days and had a 5 day period this month and the whole thing is just beginning to grate on me.
Its disappointing to find private clinics are just as useless as the nhs in places. Its really not reassuring! I hope things improve soon for you!

Juno231 · 08/06/2021 14:38

@MimiArm totally get it! I'd be tempted to just go with it and not waste any more time but that's just me and it's a big decision to make! What is OH thinking?

@paintfairy honestly when you first got told to do IUI I thought it was a good idea but hadn't appreciated that they might fob you off random months and then adding in this one where you're not available it's really dragged the process out hasn't it? Add 20 days of bleeding per cycle and you're clearly having a great time lol.

I made OH put cream on yday as well in case we're passing it back and forth to each other..
