@Juno231 that's what i thought? God knows.

MrsTwentyEight · 06/10/2020 07:51

I agree with @Juno231 @paintfairy
The receptionist is just totally incompetent
You find that type in every patient facing profession and it's so frustrating. Annoyingly the most incompetent people are the ones you have to see right at the start before you can actually see a health professional lol
Hope you're okay Smile

MrsTwentyEight · 06/10/2020 07:52

PS: can you ladies believe I'm 7DPO and not done a single test? I'm shocked myself...

Juno231 · 06/10/2020 09:01

@MrsTwentyEight woop! hopefully this is the month for you.
CD5 here and itching to get into FW. I keep thinking cycle 10 has got to be the month, although I couldn't tell you why lol. Am also super keen on seeing what comes out of OH's SA results this month.

I keep thinking about the Christmas holidays and worrying about all the comments I'll get from family about not having kids yet. Mum had me at 22 and I'm 33 in Jan so they think I'm really old to be a mum already lol.

I even got it wrong. I'm actually 8dpo wow. Though I know I'll cave and test at 10DPO 😣
Don't worry about xmas - is it even xmas this year with all the drama in the world. I wouldn't compare yourself to our parents ages! Different era...different world!
Would be good to know about SA for your peace of mind too. Month 10 may be it!! Gut feeling is good!! Got everything crossed for you.

paintfairy · 06/10/2020 13:25

@Juno231 even I'm eagerly awaiting your OHs SA. 🤣

Yeah agree things are different now @MrsTwentyEight. But after you get married, for some reason it's all anyone mentions? Even when you have made no signs you even want them. Met some friends for the first time in months at the weekend. Even one of those managed to bring it up. 🙄

Juno231 · 06/10/2020 13:54

@paintfairy @MrsTwentyEight ha yes I know it's a different era but my parents and grandparents haven't caught on to that yet! For them once you had a stable income and husband it was the natural next step so they keep asking me what I'm waiting for. My granny even yelled at me 3 years ago that my eggs are dying and that I'll have disabled children if I leave it much longer lol! This is the same granny who thought everyone at my office must gossip about me for living with my bf out of wedlock at age 25 so....

I'm feel crampy. I'm willing it to go away as if AF comes today it means my 21 day blood test was too late! It needs to wait until tomorrow! 🤣

However, having thought about this I'm not really sure it was the right day anyway? Day 21 is 7 days after ovulation. If a 28 day cycle. My dr told me 7 days before period is due. If you work this out on a 28 day cycle, that would put it at day 22? Not 21? But that's what i booked it for, 7 days before AF due.
And if mine was a day late because AF comes today, actually its now 2 days late on that basis? 🤔 Because I've done mine on what would be day 23 theoretically? (In reality was day 20 but I have short cycles).

Am I making any sense? 🙈

paintfairy · 07/10/2020 12:45

OMG. NHS rant number 2.

Took my sample thing back today. So again asked about the app. She set me up. When the texts came through it was apparent that it was not for NHS app at all. But some online system our local area uses. 🙄

Anyway- technically it has similar functions. Ish. Just not as good. However - literally its pointless. They've not given me access to view anything! Online appointments are suspended due to covid. I do not have access to see anything useful. My childhood vaccinations, that's about it. I don't know if to laugh or cry but clearly around here they don't want you seeing anything! 😡

Juno231 · 07/10/2020 13:56

@paintfairy hahahaha I HATE your GP practice at this point lol. How can they be so backwards?! Also Day 21 test needs to be done at peak progesterone which is technically 7-9DPO so it's a window rather than set in stone for one single day of the cycle. Ie you should be fine! :)

paintfairy · 07/10/2020 14:06

@Juno231 that's good. If there's slight leeway that's ok. No AF yet though and I feel OK now. Spotting has increased.

But I have another surgery rant! Honestly. So when I spoke to gp she said chlamydia test could be done by urine sample or swab these days and to just do a sample if it's easier. But they'll need to transfer it to a different container when I take it. Google agrees

When I went in last week the nurse gave me a swab so I just did that. I can only assume its unusable due to spotting? So rather than waste another, I thought I'll do it the urine way.
They rang me this afternoon adamant I cannot do it that way, only men can. 🙄 (I'm not really sure how it could differ anyway? All wee is surely the same?). I told her the dr told me I could but she was having none of it. And I had to fetch a swab. I said I'll grab one when there Fri but there's absolutely no point me doing it. 🤣 It'll have to wait until I'm not spotting. And I'm away next week anyway. I mean really? What's annoying is they tested for it last year so the whole thing is a tick box exercise because I've not been near anyone since then! (Well, apart from OH). 🤣

paintfairy · 09/10/2020 09:04

Well, I've just had to cancel my day 2 blood test today. Because day 1 never came!

I can't do bloody next week which means I'll have to wait a month now. 🙄

MrsTwentyEight · 10/10/2020 10:42

@paintfairy sorry to hear about all your bad experiences with the GP practice 😭

MimiArm · 10/10/2020 12:14

@paintfairy Aw, no way! I feel your frustration, I really do. The whole process is so stressful and things not happening when they are expected to doesn't help.

After a 61 day cycle, I finally got AF and am on CD2 today. Just had my appointment with the new consultant. He was really helpful and did another scan. Follicles are on both sides and lining is thin again (since AF is here).

He's gave me a letter for GP to prescribe Clomid 50mg. But I should start it today but of course GP is closed today. So, like you, I'm a day out and will likely have to wait another month.

Currently trying my luck around the pharmacies to see if they will accept the advice note letter and give me tablets today. Local pharmacy said they would but of course they don't have the tablets. Trying one more who say they have the tablets but need to see the letter before agreeing. Fingers crossed 🤞

Juno231 · 10/10/2020 16:17

@MimiArm gosh what a rollercoaster - let'l us know if they let you have it! And sorry if my question is silly but is it really that black and white that you couldn't take it a day later? Although I suppose that's not very helpful when tomorrow is Sunday anyway 🤣

@paintfairy erm.. What do you mean CD1 didn't show up, are you preggers?!

OP posts:
MimiArm · 10/10/2020 17:08

@Juno231

So, I went to the pharmacy in the town where the specialist is (60 miles away from where we live. They said no- had our GP been local to them they would have. Suggested I go to our local pharmacy.

Rang local pharmacy. After long phone call they said yes - but they didn't have it in stock. Suggested I phone closest Boots.

Called local Boots. After another long call they said bring the letter and they will see what they can do and they do have it in stock. Drove for over an hour (even though we had things to do back in the direction we were driving from) and the pharmacist said "but this is a letter to your doctor. You need to take it to your doctor. I said yes, I told you this on the phone. They said "phone out of hours- they will give you script then come back to us".

Phoned out or hours. Meanwhile drove back to where we came from (60 miles). Out of hours agreed to prescribe 2 tablets to see me through until Monday when I can go to GP.

Just drove back to original boots and collected the two tablets. Felt like slapping it on the counter by that point and saying "happy now!".

It has to be taken on those particular days for some reason 🤷‍♀️

paintfairy · 10/10/2020 19:12

@MimiArm ffs! What a nightmare! But obviously waiting a month isn't ideal in case your cycle is really long again. At least you are getting the tablets prescribed though. I'm glad you managed to get them. But why it has to be so stressful? 🙈

@Juno231 🤣 well I think that would be a miracle. No AF came yesterday. But obviously that was no help at all. I've booked it for 6 November. 🙄

MimiArm · 10/10/2020 19:48

@paintfairy I just love it when all the people say "you need to relax and not stress" - the powers that be seem to go out of their way through the entire process to cause stress ...

Very interesting that AF is a no show so far 🤞🤞🤞

paintfairy · 10/10/2020 19:51

@MimiArm sorry probably worded it badly. AF arrived yesterday. So cd2 today. But I could only go gp Friday because I'm not here mon/tues. So I'll miss the window.

MimiArm · 10/10/2020 20:07

@ Ah, sorry. I picked it up as of AF didn't arrive - whoops. I'm sorry AF came. But on the plus side, we are cycle buddies this cycle 👯‍♀️

paintfairy · 11/10/2020 13:42

@MimiArm 🤣 it did arrive. Just a day late for the test. 🙄 Oh yes! So we are! 😁

Juno231 · 11/10/2020 14:47

@paintfairy I was hoping it was a miracle 😅

EWCM today so I'm definitely in FW. Only CD10 though so hopefully have a few more days before OD.

OP posts:
paintfairy · 11/10/2020 14:59

@Juno231 🤣 miracles never happen to me.
EWCM sounds promising!

MrsTwentyEight · 12/10/2020 12:22

Hey ladies
Been trying to avoid MN to stop thinking about TTC but lurking and trying to keep uptodate with you ladies!
My AF is due today and not shown (yet) and I have cramps (weird because I never get cramps before AF but obviously body loves to play tricks)
Been peeing on a stick like a maniac from 10DPO and the BFNs couldn't be anymore white 😂 It's almost comical if it wasn't so tragical 😭😂
Hope you're all keeping well
Happy Monday to all!

paintfairy · 12/10/2020 22:52

@MrsTwentyEight I never look at other posts on MN. I used to, but I found it just made me obsess more. I know what I need to know now, so I just avoid dwelling on the rest!
And yes our bodies enjoy torture. Apparently. 🙄 I'm not sure i get cramps really before AF either? Its usually as it starts pretty much. So that does sound a bit odd!
