I like this for a mum bag

Ready · 03/10/2007 15:04

Oh yes Gilly - I was going to ask about that tomorrow. Do let us know how it goes won't you?? I am thinking of having a session or 2. Rah from another thread I am on (top notch awesome girl for those who don't know her!!) is just having some acu, and is drinking stinking herbs... She said it was a little uncomfortable when they get the needles in. Not trying to worry you gilly.

Ready · 03/10/2007 15:11

love this

Car potty - if ds used it, goodness knows where he and potty (and contents) would end up. Its bad enough when its a normal potty on a tiled floor (sorry if tmi!)

Grobags - yes, we started using them at about 6 months (but then, April baby, so not really much need in summer) - need 2.5 tog for winter and 1.5 or 1 tog for summer. The real 'Grobags' are very good and wash extremely well - watch out for them in TK Maxx if there's one near you - and also the travel Grobag - you can fix their 5 point car seat harness properly but still get them out in a nice snuggly grobag the other end of the journey (travelling at night is ideal after about 6months as more likely to sleep).

Chair - well, ds would like it, but I got 2 chairs and a table in Ikea for same amount - have contemplated painting them or doing decoupage on table top but not had time. I think that coat of varnish might be as far as it gets, but at least it would wipe off more easily then.

Bags - don't get Avent rucksack version - looks good in principal but very uncomfortable. However, great to have a bag with a change mat incorporated and in place that you can get it out one handed in a tight place with no where to put baby and/or bag down.

I found a feeding pillow really helpful (Blooming Marvellous) - particularly as had emergency section, but also as ds so heavy and wouldn't have wanted to support all that weight all the time.

Ready - so you're made of money are you???!!!

Do you realise how many of these you might need?

Sainsbury's do 3 or 5 for £5 or something like that and they are fine! Some of them can be quite cute. Tesco also fine but don't get the Asda ones they go really thin when you wash them - same for sleepsuits.

Gilly - accupuncture nothing to worry about - my first session was sprung on me (which I'm very glad about) - now go because it makes me feel much better. Ds came with me last thursday and complained that he didn't like me looking like a hedgehog (not that many needles!). Needles really fine so they don't tend to hurt. Good luck!

mistlethrush · 03/10/2007 15:27

My parent's did test run of all carts with bricks for ds's first Christmas present - the only one that was good enough was the JL version (rubber on wheels for grip, good angle to handle, sturdy, heavy base so less easy to tip over etc). Do like JL (drool)

Ready · 03/10/2007 15:34

Gilly - I am with you, a bit of a bag lady - I am not thinking of practicality. I want something that looks nice
Yes, there are a few of us stalwarts... it's a shame. But good that we can support each other, so every cloud

I'm gone for an hour and you compare me to David Brent

Love those cute babygrows Ready! I know that from a practicality perspective you will need loads and therefore you won't have many pretty ones but we are virtual dream shopping aren't we

Gilly - I'm a NE girl in London too - it does change you doesn't it I wear trainers or flip flops to work and I have 2 work bags

toomuchtimeonline · 03/10/2007 16:06

MT - once we get our BFPs and stop virtual shopping you are going to have to do your best to restrain us and make us buy the practical thinks we need

kensgirl · 03/10/2007 18:26

HEELLLOO!!!

Sorry I've been on the missing list for a while, a few technical hitches at this end kept me away from you! Did miss you though.....

Will try to catch up individually in a bit

cd 17 here for me, and this month I used OPK's, for the first time, and got a smiley face on day 14, a bit later than I thought, but heyho! It tells you that you will probably ov within 24 to 36 hours, and we mangaged the wild thing 3 times in 36 hours ( poor dh...), so I just have to keep my fingers crossed now. I'm becoming a bit of a old timer at ttc now.

Lovely to be back!
