If you are then I am too!!!

mistelthrush - how cute about Baby Jack, it is very interesting the timing of it all. Makes you wonder what children know.

nomoremagnolia · 02/10/2007 20:38

Hi MT
I can sympathise with your 5.30am start - we had my godson here for the weekend, so I've been initiated into what life is like with a LO around!
Would the 'baby free' day at the baby show be known as the totally deluded mad women day?? If so I think I might be free... (or do you get a free baby? Yes the old sugar-free joke - I'll get my coat
'Baby Jack' sounds like fun at the mo, are you worried or just amused? Or does DS think 'Baby Jack' is a DBro/Sis for him?

x-posts Ready were we both sitting there waiting for someone else to post? A kind of posting stalemate?

Sorry, got hooked on Youtube... DH was singing the Raccoons theme tune today, and I had to find it for him

PiggyPenguin · 02/10/2007 21:07

Baby Jack sounds like good fun though. Just think what a great big brother you are going to have there after all this practice!

We've never been through the imaginary friend route, although my kids love Dora and fully expect that any sibling that comes into our house in the future will be part of a boy/girl twin variety. Especially as DS wants boy and DD wants girl. Also, close friends have boy/girl twins so they have decided thats their choice. I am hoping to disappoint one of them!

LOL - it's the vino, it makes you make mistakes! I am still getting used to laptop keys as opposed to pc keys... I am loving it

I started wallowing very early on in the proceedings with ds - each time I went the + bit got a bit further on than it should have been...

Baby Jack is definitely a sister (or occasionally a brother) - this is what she (he/it) was introduced as. In a very matter-of-fact way.

The really funny thing about Baby Jack is how she (he/it) gets picked up (thumb and two fingers together, and lift!) and held in the palm of one hand. She (he/it) does occasionally get fed as well, but normally ds is too interested in the food to remember Baby Jack at that time.

Our neighbour announced earlier this week that they were considering 'down-sizing' so that they have no mortgage and can go on more holidays, but also trying for another set of twins. Yes, down-sizing and another set of twins, you did read it right. Not sure where they'll put them.... Did contemplate offering to buy some of their garden from them as this is one of the problems, but probably a bit foolish. Not really got time to do what we have (all gardening, including cutting the lawn, is down to me apparently - I think that dh has mown the lawn 1.5 times in 4.5 years, despite me being ill when we moved in and pregnant for 9 months of that time)

Lots of people on this thread this evening!

Hi Bella, hope its still going well!

Ready · 02/10/2007 21:32

That is sooooo cute I can't wait for all those sweet little things.

Beat this: commenting upon the sun, which had just come out from behind the clouds:
"the sun just said 'scuse me to clouds"

MT Just re-read your first post on Baby Jack - didn't read properly that Baby Jack arrived around your EDD. How strange of DS to invent her then. Did he know about your pg / m/c?

gilly - nice to see you back! M&P - whilst lots of things look nice in there, I found that it can be extortionate in price terms - which makes a big difference when you might be getting through 2 or 3 sets of clothes a day at times (sometimes more!) I do like their nursery stuff though.

DS & Baby Jack - yes, rather spooky in terms of timing etc, and no, he didn't know anything about it. We're just playing along - whilst we don't mention Baby Jack unless he does first, we don't ignore it when she does turn up (see having to pick her up off floor in Sainsbury's line earlier)

We do lots of imagination things. At one stage we were having a bit of a struggle getting him to sit on his potty (he would rather wait untill he was really desperate) and we had a game of one of his toys going to the shops and talking about what they were going to buy. Normally it was cakes - had to decide upon colour etc, but sometimes wellies or hats came in.

Favorite toy at the moment - saw car boot pile at friends and bought a toy farm that opens up (like a dolls house) with some animals - he has other animals, and its amazing what they get up to

nomoremagnolia · 03/10/2007 10:00

The imagination that kids have amazes me, where does it go though?
Hi gilly nice to see you back, sorry you're not having a good time of it at the mo. I mentioned to the nurse that we'd been ttc for a year when I went for smear test, she was really lovely and told me that doc would happily do initial tests for us. She even said they'd start tests earlier than a year of ttc to get the ball rolling for us (though we were already at a year by then) best of luck

As I was saying I get the impression that M and P are a bit 'style over substance' trading on name rather than quality of product.
