John Lewis do a baby gift list, like a wedding list. I am a bit too excited about that! I get to do a list and the parents/in laws can buy the stuff I've we've chosen rather than what they think we'd like

I found a really helpful independant baby shop that gave me really good info about prams and seats. I went in and had discussion about buggies so we narrowed it down to 3 before took dh in as he's hopeless about shopping - had to top up his coffee levels even for that.

M&P - style above substance - I think I agree, although a few of the toys that we got from there have been very good and well used (particularly the soft stacking blocks that magnetically connect and have different noises/textures - great for quite a wide age range and different activities)

John Lewis - I always drool when I go there. Luckily (or not) we're not near one so only go very occaisionally when in the locality. Their baby range is really nice - ds had several pairs of dungarees that he wore and wore (nice colours, not just blue) and has also had several tops from there (most, I am ashamed to say, bought 2nd hand on ebay or at NCT sales... ).

Look out for NCT sales though - great way of getting some of the things that you'll need for a few months - alot cheaper and supports NCT too.

Ds likes pink (and red, and blue, and green and purple), and has a doll (my parents, moving house, found one that had belonged to me that's quite reasonable!). Buggy not big, but doesn't collapse very small unless you take the wheels off - quite a long body length, which does make it very sturdy.

Hi Ready - I'm going ok! Sorry to hear about your traffic nightmare! The roads are always horrible in October and the weather isn't helping is it [toomuch puts her stern annoyed face on]. I know what you mean about the bumps everywhere thing - everywhere I turn at the moment there is a huge bump or a newborn - I'm so jealous!

Hey nomore - The babyshow looks amazing!! I'm definitely up for a jaunt there once we all have fabulous bumps What did your godson's mam tell you was on the to buy and not to buy list - It would be really interesting to find out from people what they think is worth buying and what is a waste of money. Hope you're lucky this month - it sounds as though there are lots of nice events it would coincide with so you never know - fate could play you a nice card this month!

Sybil - how reliable are the persona things? Is there a chance you ovulated but it just didn't pick it up? Sorry to hear about your EDD passing [big hugs]

MT - hi - how are you going? Bless your DS with baby jack - it's amazing what kids pick up isn't it!? I'm intrigued by your neighbours.. how do you "try" for a set of twins?

bellabear - you're floating was very graceful - glad to hear all is well

gilly - hey you! I think you're sounding quite upbeat at the moment rather than negative! How do you find counselling? Is it very expensive? I've always wanted to go but wouldn't know where to start with finding someone. Hols were good thanks! How's the job? Sounds like you're doing some very interesting stuff. Have you fully settled in now?

Everyone else [big wave] I'm loving all of this virtual shopping! Can you imagine what we are going to be like when we actually start buying stuff!!!

toomuchtimeonline · 03/10/2007 11:24

Ready I love JL - the baby stuff is just so cute! I'm off there on my lunch hour for a mooch!

Gilly - my friend reckons that french baby stuff is the best ever! And apparently much cheaper!

toomuchtimeonline · 03/10/2007 14:37

I'm here! I went for a quick look at JL at lunchtime. I was having a big sniff of all of the lovely organic bath soaks and stuff - they were gorgeous!! The baby stuff was also very very very cute!

toomuchtimeonline · 03/10/2007 14:38

Loving that potty!!

I saw one shaped like a car the other day which was really sweet

Ready · 03/10/2007 14:39

Toomuch - Your challenge is to find a link to that car potty - I am loving the sound of it. I do love the bug, shamefully - I feel I must have it
