TTC - Aug testers

Hello!!

Thought I’d start a group for all you ladies that are currently trying or have recently been trying in the hope to test early August.

Would be good to have the support during and give each other advice and positivity!

I’m on my 2nd month TTC and had my peak days on 19th/20th July. Earliest I can test is 31st. AF due 5th.

My DH has confiscated my tests😂 (I asked him to) I can’t help myself, he’s hidden them until the day I’m due on AF, this Saturday.

@TiffyT Oh so they are! I'm on just the website now, weird how it's not coming up like that on the app!

Good shout about DH hiding the tests, I'll probably end up having to do something like that. I tested on an IC about CD4 this cycle because of a short period and got a (false) vfl, so then went through about five more tests in the following days! Even when I knew it had been a false positive, I just couldn't seem to stop myself haha.

@chillyfields tested again this am and this pm and both massive clear white BFN’s......it’s soooooo weird. What is going on with us?!?! 🤦🏽‍♀️😄

I got my definite bfp this morning 😊 13dpo period due tomorrow or Wednesday going by my period tracking app. Fingers crossed it sticks! This is my baby #3 - my other two are 7 and 9! It will be odd going through it all again!

@JLM1008 congratulations on your BFP!!!!

I don't have a clue what's going on with my cycles! Still tracking BBT. One app says I ovulated on CD13 (this is when I had ovulation pain and EWCM). A second app I use has now said I ovulated Friday which was CD21. So confused! I think I might test tomorrow, I'll be 12dpo if I ovulated on CD13. If not at least we DTD on Friday so hopefully caught it, just means starting the TWW all over again 😞

@LemonDrizzle44 I know what you mean....I’m starting to wonder if I’ve ovulated at all 🤦🏽‍♀️ Faint line one minute and then stark white bfn the next 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe test tomorrow and see what’s what. Good luck x

@HouseOfRunners I've had none of my usual ovulation symptoms on Friday so not sure what's going on. I'm hoping the first app which says I ovulated CD13 is correct. I've had more symptoms which correlate with this date. I'll use my last clear blue tomorrow morning. Just ordered some more tests just in case.

@chillyfields when is af due for you? I can relate, every day I run to the bathroom to do an IC and nothing! The disappointment gets worse each time. :(

Wow congratulations to everyone who’s had their BFP! So, so happy for you all

I was so exhausted last night I slept from 8.30pm until 6am so I had hopes for this month but with AF due tomorrow I’ve just started some very light spotting so I guess that is me out for this month! Trying not to be too disappointed as it is only our first cycle TTC!

@Emmaemma23 sometime between tomorrow and the 8th according to the two apps I use... Eep. And you never know, it's not over until the fat lady (AF) sings! Will keep fingers crossed for you.

@HouseOfRunners that's so weird. Were you testing with the same brand each time? If not, potentially they have different sensitivities? I've read really bad reviews about the brand of IC I've been using (One Step in case anyone else has experience?), so upgrading to Boots strips tomorrow.

@chillyfields yes, same brand. I do use ic’s as I’ve never had an issue with them and they are extra sensitive. The bad examples I’ve seen of ic’s have been a case of flooded tests or sadly chemical pregnancy. There has to be some hcg present to get a coloured line. I’m thinking maybe something started to happen and now it’s stopped. I’ve just done another and it’s a definite BFN.

Af is definitely in full swing. Feeling a bit disappointed. Hopefully next month is my month! How are you feeling?

Tested this morning BFN!

My first app has now changed my ovulation date too. So I don't think I ovulated on CD13 at all. So now I think I've ovulated on CD22 which makes me 3DPO. Just have to sit tight and wait again!

@HouseOfRunners oh I'm so sorry to hear that. I suspect the same is happening with me. Just took a boots and IC test strip and thought there was a tiny squinter of a line on both, but barely anything there. So gutted to think I might be having to go through the whole journey again, but keeping fingers crossed that both of ours stick this time...

No luck for me this month, my period has come today like clockwork as expected - onto our 3rd cycle this month so hopefully 3rd time lucky! I think I am going to pop out today and pick up some grapefruit juice and evening primrose oil to start taking. So far I have just been taking folic acid, is there any other supplements I should be taking?xxx

@Terri055 I'm sorry to hear that. I've been taking vitamin D also, as there are a few studies suggesting it reduces the risk of miscarriage / preterm births. If I don't get pregnant this month, I'm going to consider vitamin E and CoQ10, as apparently they help ensure a thicker uterine lining (something I'm worried I might not have as my luteal phase is pretty short). Wishing you good luck and hope the third time's a charm for you!

@chillyfields thank you, how long have you been TTC? Part of me stupidly thought it was happen straight away as so many of my friends/family always seem to fall pregnant by 'accident' so it's frustrating when your actively trying to plan a baby & it doesn't happen as quickly :-( xxx

Don’t worry if you’ve got BFN or AF arrived there’s always next month to focus on! It’ll happen when you least expect it I bet!

Love the support everyone gives in this group and the advice! Very reassuring!

@Terri055 this is cycle 2.5 of TTC for me (one month after my coil was removed of 'not really trying' and two months of actively tracking / trying). I know exactly what you mean. Even though everyone told me it could take up to a year, I never properly believed them. Plus every month the 'am I aren't I' cycle of testing is such a bleeding emotional rollercoaster that it makes it seem like much longer!

I am due the 7thIsh if I Ovulated with my meds. No spotting yet like I normally would by now. I am exhausted? Could be coming down with something? X

@chillyfields ... I feel exactly the same! (And have been trying exactly the same length of time following coil removal)

AF arrived this morning.
I have a whole list of new stuff I'm going to try for next month from mucinex to herbal teas and more. Plus I'm going to make DH do one of those home sperm tests.
Onto round 3 💪🏼

@chillyfields fingers crossed it's happens soon for us! I've woke up to a lovely coldsore on my lip which I'm sure has been caused from stressing myself out in the 2WW trying to symptom spot & google everything! I think from this month, I'm going to do my best to keep busy in the 2WW and not test early as I think I'm driving myself crazy xxx
