Very heavy implantation bleed? Is this positive?

Hi all,

I am around 10/11DPO with AF due Sunday.

I had 3 days of bleeding from 6/7DPO to 9/10DPO, heavy enough that I assumed it was AF early. The only difference was that the cramping felt different and I also felt nauseous but the colour, volume and clots seemed like normal AF so I decided this wasnt my month.

I have stopped bleeding now but just felt off today - nausea, headache, backache and twinges around my left ovary so thought I would take a test just on the off chance.

Am I being crazy or can you see a line? Have attached pics and tweaked pics. I have had evaps before and this definitely has some pink to it but it is hard to capture on camera.

And if it is a line, could the 3 days of bleeding really have been implantation bleeding despite being so heavy?

Any advice gladly welcomed thank you! Xxxx

I’m struggling to see a line if I’m honest. I think going on the bleed you describe and the fact you’re 10/11DPO could potentially mean that you had a “chemical pregnancy” (I don’t like that term but we all know what it means) and there are some low level hormones left. Maybe. I’d test again in 48 hours! Good luck!

lavenderlove · 19/06/2020 19:50

I can definitely see what you're seeing but I'm not sure it looks pink? Maybe an evap but I would test again in the morning if you can

NJ2910 · 19/06/2020 20:15

Thank you very much for your replies - will test again in the morning 😊

I can see what your seeing, I keep getting these with these tests! Not sure if it's positive :(

I am taking another test in the morning at 14dpo but not holding my breath

NJ2910 · 19/06/2020 20:52

@supportsupport im glad you can see what I'm seeing - at least I'm not going completely mad haha but also I agree with you, have no idea if it is positive or evap. Do you have a picture of your latest test?

I will be 11/12DPO tomorrow and will take another test in the morning, shall we keep each other updated? 😊 fingers crossed! X

Hi Op!

Realllly similar to me! I had 4 days of very light bleeding (but quite painful) and assumed I was out. Tested today and its just like yours. I don't know what to think. I'll see if I can post a pic.

I'm somewhere between 11-18 dpo but its really hard to say!

NJ2910 · 19/06/2020 21:19

Hi @jammyone thanks for your reply! Interesting to hear you have experienced the same thing.

Yes post a pic if you can 😊

We can keep each other updated!

Here it is!

Yes keep me updated too! When are you testing next?

I can see a line there, very faint but it's there. Retest in the morning with first urine...My bfp started very faint like this.

NJ2910 · 19/06/2020 22:03

@jammyone I can deffo see that! Looks promising, fingers crossed 😊 I think tomorrow morning because the one I took today was with afternoon wee so thought I would try with FMU and then see. How about you?

@maria2bela thank you! That's good to know that your bfp started like this. Will retest in the morning 😊

@nj2910 sounds like a good plan. I've been testing so much recently so I'm gonna try to hold off til Sunday and hopefully get s decent line. Please keep me updated!

How do you feel in yourself? Would it be your first?

NJ2910 · 19/06/2020 22:45

@jammyone good idea, i really ought to wait Haha but don't think I have the restraint!! Will do 😊

I have felt a bit odd, when I was having what I thought was AF this week, the cramps felt different - milder and more twingey if that makes sense and I felt sick but put it down to AF. However the reason I tested today was because I had weird twinges, felt nauseous, backache and headaches so I'm hoping they are positive signs. How about you? Have you had any symptoms?
Yes would be our first! 😊 would it be your first too? Having never been pregnant before it is hard to know what sort of symptoms to look out for!

I had implantation bleeding with my DS, was around the time my period was due but wasn’t quite a ‘full’ period. I tested positive at 10 days after the day my period was due. No other symptoms. You mention your period is due this weekend so seems a bit early to be testing at this stage? I would test again next weekend - sorry I know this feels like forever! Flowers

CaMePlaitPas · 19/06/2020 23:02

I can see lines on the first two pictures.

I haf implantation bleeding that resembled my period for my first and for my second I tested one week after my period "due date" and it was negative... it didn't show positive until 2 weeks late although I tested with one cheapy supermarket test.

Good luck!!

jammyone · 19/06/2020 23:28

#nj2910 it would be my second. My son is 2 and a half, I'm desperately trying to remember what it was like first time round - I know I did experience some bleeding but can't remember what it was like. The feelings I'm getting remind me so much of early pregnancy tho, stretching feeling and constantly bloated.

Your symptoms sounds encouraging!

@maranello4 thank you for sharing! This is good to hear, as that would match with my dates at the moment!

Bouncytree · 19/06/2020 23:43

@NJ2910 I think the line is faint when hcg levels are not that high, which could mean you need to wait more time or that they are trailing off...I agree with @emvy the bleeding doesn’t sound like implantation bleeding, due to the clots. It may be as she says there was a ‘near miss’. Only time will tell. It’s so hard waiting and not knowing, and trying to read the symptoms.

NJ2910 · 20/06/2020 10:45

@jammyone tested this morning and got the same faint line on a FRER as yesterday and a shadow on an IC, started to think it may have been a chemical as other posters have suggested :(

@NJ2910This process is so tough. So many ups and downs. The course of your life changing in front of you and then changing back. Hang in there. CP is really hard, but I also think at least it shows everything is working. It’s just a matter of time. And enduring the process. Sending kind thoughts

jammyone · 20/06/2020 13:15

@NJ2910 oh love, it's shit. It gets your hopes up testing early, doesn't it? I can see why people are against it. If I have tests in my bathroom cabinet and any tiny doubt in my mind I end up testing. I can't help myself. I've ordered some tests to arrive on Monday purposely so I don't obsess this weekend.

I imagine it's probably the same story with me. Time will tell. Keep me updated won't you?

NJ2910 · 21/06/2020 08:44

@bouncytree & @jammyone thank you ❤

I am little more confused this morning, thought I would take a final FRER to rule me out and now there is a darker line.. I think. What do you think?

jammyone · 21/06/2020 09:01

Can definitely see that @nj2910 - how many dpo are you now?

It looks the same as my test from Friday!

Bouncytree · 21/06/2020 09:03

@NJ2910 this stuff is so confusing! It’s hard to tell if it’s darker from the picture. The wait to know is so achingly hard! But I think it might be a ‘time will tell’ on this one. Until there is a good strong line it’s difficult to say with certainty...you might have to try again in a few days. It’s a tough one though I can see why it’s confusing...the bleeding was so early. Is AF normally regular? The other feeling off could be symptoms, but could also be your body’s reaction to a chemical pregnancy. My fingers are crossed for you! 🤞

Bouncytree · 21/06/2020 09:29

@jammyone how are you getting on?

jammyone · 21/06/2020 09:37

@bouncytree Ok thanks. I have more tests on the way so if they arrive in good time I'll test today (I wee'd in a cup fmu 🙈) if not I'll try tomorrow morning.

I go through phases of thinking it must be me imagining / hoping for it, and other times I am convinced I am pg. I must say I feel exactly how I did in early pregnancy, however my boobs are not sore.

Bouncytree · 21/06/2020 09:56

@jammyone lol the wee cup, I know it’s funny carrying your wee around isnt it 🤣.

Fingers crossed for your the wait always seems so long. Your bleeding sounds light, so that’s encouraging. Let us know how you get on!

My DS is also 2 and a half. Hoping to have a little sibling for him. 💕
