Very heavy implantation bleed? Is this positive?

Hi all,

I am around 10/11DPO with AF due Sunday.

I had 3 days of bleeding from 6/7DPO to 9/10DPO, heavy enough that I assumed it was AF early. The only difference was that the cramping felt different and I also felt nauseous but the colour, volume and clots seemed like normal AF so I decided this wasnt my month.

I have stopped bleeding now but just felt off today - nausea, headache, backache and twinges around my left ovary so thought I would take a test just on the off chance.

Am I being crazy or can you see a line? Have attached pics and tweaked pics. I have had evaps before and this definitely has some pink to it but it is hard to capture on camera.

And if it is a line, could the 3 days of bleeding really have been implantation bleeding despite being so heavy?

Well after the BFN I convinced myself to accept I wasn’t pregnant for this month, but have had some very suspicious symptoms. Very strong nausea yesterday, enough to make me act a bit crazy in public, huffing and puffing in the supermarket aisles, holding my tummy and mopping my brow. 🤪😂 Couldn’t concentrate on any activity for most of the day. Today very acidic tummy, as if it might all just come up. So my preg alarm is going off again!

Boobs still sore though not quite as bad. I realise now 10 DPO was prob too early to test. I was going to wait till AF would be due as I just don’t want to face another BFN...but I am tempted now. I am strongly suspicious. God is id love it know! Still undecided, might wait and see if still sickly 2m...or wait till wed.

@Bouncytree 😂 sexathon 😂 I love it x least what they say about every cloud having a silver lining is true lol x but aw seriously the not knowing is a killer definatly sounds promising with your symptoms though x really holding hope for you Hun I really admire your refrain from testing too 🙈 I went and bought another set of cheapies and another frer (adamant for next week only lol) and 2 boots home brand just to incase the cheapies carried on not picking anything up lol definatly going to bar myself out of the chemist now though x
@jammyone I wonder if you are ovulating with you still having some symtoms I had read somewhere you get symptoms on a LH surge too so possible x but it might be just taking time for the hormones to leave I bet your heads in over drive sending hope n hugs hun x
Well I’ve been going out of my mind testing with cheapies twice a day and I do definatly think I was right about my hcg been higher later in day I don’t know what’s going on but did my last frer the other morning (b4 I bought another) and was definatly fainter line I wasn’t sure if I did the test wrong though cos I didn’t even see the the test window changing normally it’s very visible when working but this control line just appeared while I was still dipping x I was guttered thinking it was wasted but still got a faint positive but faint enough to worry me that the lines should be getting darker not weaker x then I did a boots own brand yesturday after lunch and clear as day pink positive but then was so hopeful this morning tested FMU and the line was still there positive but so faint again x I’ll try and upload a pic for you to see what I mean xx

So the darker one is the yesturday afternoon and then the lighter one thismornings fmu x I checked and both boots and cheapie ones are 25mIU sensitive but yet the cheapie one I did this morning first was negative that’s why I dipped the boots one straight away x I just havnt a clue x I called hospital again and said last week my bloods were 6hcg and I no it’s not 2 weeks since then yet but that I’m still bleeding (only when wiping) and now it’s tirned back to brown too and that my lines on tests arnt getting darker x because I know I conceived on the 7/8th June they said it’s just too early to check anything even for a ectopic because of the pain she told me to take pain relief but I said it’s only on a night and not as pain ful were I’d need pain relief sometimes feels like a burning sensation she said it’s too early they can’t do anything x so needless to say I was very greatful for there help 🤷‍♀️ She was so snotty on the phone too just really peed me off all day lol xx I’m getting dizzier and light headed more these past few days and feel sick when even I’m driving or in a car x I can’t stop eating tuna mayo sweet corn sarnies I’m even dreaming about them haha I’m currently sucking ice cubes which taste so so nice I’ve never did or had that x I’m just basically all over aswell lol x wishing this next week would hurry up xx

@Bumblebee04 oh you are a wise one. I checked my tracking app (which I haven't looked at for ages) and I think I'm ovulating next few days. Probably why I feel odd pressure and bloating.

Very peculiar about your tests. Will the GP not repeat the bloods so you can compare? That's a strong line you've got there. It probably isn't, but might be worth reading about the hook effect if you haven't already.

@Bouncytree also admire your restraint with the testing. Does sound very suspicious tho!

Lol @Bumblebee04 you love a good test! Contacting GP sounds like a good idea, as jammyone says may be able to test bloods, but even just for your care in relation to dizziness and blood loss. It’s so hard that they leave you kinda on your own with all this. Hoping the week passes quick. Time will ultimately tell, but I’m wondering, if you do want to continue to test, it might be a idea to test with the same kind of test at the same time every day. That way you remove things that may be causing variation, so it will be easier to compare. Fingers crossed for it working out for you. It’s a long time to be worrying and wondering, it’s very cruel really.

Nice one on figuring out the ovulation! @jammyone hopefully having an explanation helps put your mind at ease a bit. Are you still laying off the TTC?

It’s so funny about the testing, because I was testing crazy the last 2 weeks when there was little chance I could be PG! So I am as crazy a tester as any! But I think I’m just too afraid to see a BFN. I keep imagining the blank test and feeling gutted. Or else seeing a whisper of a line and being afraid it’s not strong enough to stick. I am sooo tempted though, I’m going around in circles thinking signs are strong get a test for the morning and then think of a BFN looking back at me and think I’d better wait.

If I am PG I think I want to start it on a sure positive note and put the nerves and pain of the last few weeks behind us.

As time goes on I’m getting more convinced. Will see how the acid/nausea is tomorrow.

It’s feeling less long till wed, now it’s nearly Monday. And it’s funny the more the strong symptoms go on I’m not feeling the need to test as much.

@bouncytree That's great, sounds really positive. Honestly I can understand your hesitation with testing after loss, you have set yourself a target and I think that's really sensible, more power to ya.

@jammyone aw I’m so glad you’ve got maybe some explanation to as what’s going on x and not a bad idea knowing your ovulating too I know your not ttc this cycle but still worth the know x I had a look at the hook syndrome thing and not sure it applies as it says too much hcg causes the hook affect but I’m pretty sure I’m just waiting for my hcg levels to rise x maybe I’ve just been testing way to early and obv frer pick up early but then so have others and my lines arnt getting any darker xx
@Bouncytree aw you sound head strong in how you want to go into it x but don’t forget a negative doesn’t mean no x it’s really not over until af arrives and your symtoms are strong but laughing at your ‘was testing like mad when was early’ you probably are a lot more closer to a positive now than you were x really fingers crossed for you x
And haha I do love a test but im not normally like this lol I think I’m panicking that’s my hcg levels arnt rising and wana know so bad if the little thing is were it should be or if it’s there 🙃 x some positive news though the cheapies I’ve been testing with all week well I’m pretty sure I’ve got a faint line this morning which is what I’ve been waiting for but means that since last Sunday my hcg has only risen from 6 to around 20-25 (well that’s if these cheapies do what they say on the box) I’m guna hold off and do my frer in a few days and I guess I’ll know then no matter what time of day it is if the line on it stronger than last week x but feeling hopeful at seeing anything resembling a line on this mornings cheapie were I had nothing on them all week so yeah feeling a bit more better today xx

@bumblebee04 I suppose though the tests are not quantative measures, they are just a yes or no so I wouldn't read too much into the darkness of the line, more so that there is a line! Sounds like a good sign tho.

@jammyone yeah I agree x there is a line I know I’ve got a little something in there and that’s what I’m holding onto x I think I feel more crazy cos of hospital and dr basically telling me I’m not pregnant lol I spoke to dr today and even tho I said about pulling on one side at night she literally thinks I’ve tricked my body into thinking it’s pregnant 😂 honestly just how hard is it to shove a wand in there and just see x god I’ve had that many drs n nurses n midwifes in there over past 5 month you’d think one more wouldn’t hurt but honestly I said dr I have about 8 tests from Thursday alone that’s say positive and ah didn’t want to know x they’re making me think I’m crazy myself lol but it’s obv I have got more than one positive maybe it is early I only conceived 2 weeks ago which I no cos was a heat of moment thing with my ex who I lost baby too and had only seen him once since a week b4 I lost my baby in may xx it’s all just a mess I guess abit of everywhere but I’m defo not crazy haha x drs make me laugh though cos last week she was saying could be chemical or something but now she adamant even without any more Obs or tests that I’m not 😂 I can’t catch a break lol x weeks wait here I come x heck I did the first week not so well lol surely can only get easier lol xx

@bumblebee04 I really feel for you, its so shit that your GP is not giving you any kind of reassurance in all of this. The least they could do is take second set of bloods to compare to the last lot - they sounded inconclusive so its wrong of them to assume you are not pregnant.

Can you get a second opinion? See another Gp? If you are in any further pain at all I would honestly rock up to A&E and explain - they'd investigate for you I'm sure, it all sounds pretty confusing and without further testing its anyone guess as to whats going on. I think its pretty disgusting that they've dismissed your concerns in this way.

I no @jammyone literally they could actually earn there daily wage and it’s not even like they’d have to do anything the nurse would take bloods that’s it, I’m so disappointed with them it’s a joke they saying it’s to early for a scan I get that but bloods would be easy to do she literally made me feel like I was crazy and not to play on the miscarriage card but ffs you’d think they’d understand my worries ect and even just reassure me with bloods obs anything really x well I’ll test again on Friday with my frer and if it’s positive again then I’ll phone hospital again as I’m still bleeding dark brown too but only when wipe only smudges on a pad x well they wanted to wait 2 weeks so I’ll wait but I swear if something is wrong or it’s ectopic or anything ill be going mad theys just no need, I don’t want to go to AnE cos I already phone the early unit and they said wait 2 weeks also to test x gives me hope though that I’m getting faint positives from my cheapies now so hcg is getting higher but just slower than I would have thought x it’s just so hard since my last period was 4th may but I know when I conceived so thinking this would put me at 3weeks this week but then they normally add 2 weeks don’t they so I think around 5weeks this week but not sure if that will work for my situation 🤷‍♀️ Who knows x I’m so so glad I have yous though and that yous have seen my tests also x helps me no I’m definatly not crazy lol xx

Hi @Bumblebee04. I know I really feel for you , it must be agony to not know what is going on and to not be getting much emotional support from the medical staff. The rise from 6 to 25 of hcg sounds promising. So difficult to know with the on going bleeding. The tests are still positive so that is a good sign too. When will they test you?

So I have caved and bought a FRER gonna go it today. I want to know if I bleed tomorrow that it’s AF and not something wrong. And I also think the waiting is now seeming like it’s more stressful than a BFN!

My gums looks swollen today, and tmi but my nipples look rounder and more defined.

I've been back at the GP today as I still have a lot of pain in my left ovary and weird symptoms. Gp was shocked at how swollen my tummy was. Bloods taken and ultrasound next week.

BFN with a FRER, very surprised. And I am one crazy lady! Don’t think there is much chance of a change at this stage. Technically due tomorrow though I don’t really know.

They won’t test me again until 2 weeks which will be this Sunday but if I get another positive still by Friday I’m calling them back I think or wait until Monday I don’t know lol I’ll see what test says first x but yeah my hcg has definatly rose for the cheapies to start being positive just 🤞 everything in there is normal x i won’t lie I’m so scared but eager to find out for sure xx

Maybe I’m just staring at my nipples and gums to much? 🤣🤣🤣 Honestly I’m so hormonal the last two weeks, angry, anxious and tearful. Boobs are still so achy and sore. don’t know what’s going on. Maybe my hormones just all over the place after the loss. Waiting for AF, yes I guess not over till it arrives, hope she doesn’t mess me around now! I thought I would be gutted, but just feel kinda normal. Maybe I’m just getting used to the BFNs 🤷‍♀️

Aw @Bouncytree honestly I know how you feel and not knowing is a nightmare for everything x well hopefully af won’t arrive xx if it’s a negative now maybe wait a few days to see again xx I no bit rich coming from me who’s literally testing twice a day lol but yu do have so much more restraint than me x yano though if testing a lot has taught me anything it’s that Lloyd’s own brand test 2 for fiva showed positive at same time as frer last week so I think they more sensitive too saves you a fiver a go I guess on frers xx don’t be thinking your not guna get your bfp though there’s still plenty of time for it x Its offit to think how early you were testing at start then really and the bloody conceiving process defo gets ya used to bfn xx when do you think you’ll test again xx

@Bumblebee04 Sunday does seem like a bit of a wait alright....but it’s getting closer. I hope your doing ok, it’s so hard being left to wonder. It’s good to have a conclusive answer so you can deal with it. I feel like that at the moment, is be ok with AF turning up at least it is a end to the madness.

Thanks for the info on tests, I actually live in ireland, so not as much access to cheapies. I have a bumper box of strips, but I think they are 25mIU/ml and the FRER is 6.3...so if I’m under 6.3 and it doubles every 48 hours I’d need to wait 2/3 days.

Makes sense what you say, I’ve had a little read there. I see lots of people don’t get positives straight away. I’ve also read someone who was late and had mega symptoms and was just a monster AF coming! That could we be the case after the MC. But at this point anything is possible.

I was actually due AF yesterday, I miscounted. But it’s kind of an estimate anyway. I ovulated some day around 15/16/17th so if it’s coming I think it should be on the way. Anyway nothing yet! I would suite like AF to come and get rid of these bloody hormones!

It’s so funny I really wasn’t expecting anything this month, we just DTD every 4 day’s as a just in case while we waited to get back to a regular cycle, I didn’t know how to use the OPKs properly either, but the symptoms have just got my hopes up. Looking forward to some kind of conclusion this week I hope! Boobs still aching.

Oh well, we all wait on to see what’s up!
