Very heavy implantation bleed? Is this positive?

NJ2910 · 19/06/2020 19:10

Hi all,

I am around 10/11DPO with AF due Sunday.

I had 3 days of bleeding from 6/7DPO to 9/10DPO, heavy enough that I assumed it was AF early. The only difference was that the cramping felt different and I also felt nauseous but the colour, volume and clots seemed like normal AF so I decided this wasnt my month.

I have stopped bleeding now but just felt off today - nausea, headache, backache and twinges around my left ovary so thought I would take a test just on the off chance.

Am I being crazy or can you see a line? Have attached pics and tweaked pics. I have had evaps before and this definitely has some pink to it but it is hard to capture on camera.

And if it is a line, could the 3 days of bleeding really have been implantation bleeding despite being so heavy?

Any advice gladly welcomed thank you! Xxxx

I still have sore boobs. Getting cramping this evening. Feeling a little scared it’s a repeat of early loss, last time I had cramps, it could be AF, but that would be a 21 day cycle...normally v regular 28. Dates would work for implantation, I’m about 8/9 days DPO....but so scared to hope.

Holding tight here too, with you both @jammyone and @Bumblebee04

Waiting for my husband to put our DS to bed, so I can have hugs. Much needed! And ice cream!!

jammyone · 23/06/2020 19:37

@bouncytree I am crossing my fingers and toes for you, hoping it's implantation cramping, it's the perfect time for it. Do you get sore boobs with AF usually?

Not good news for me, GP advised probably a chemical pregnancy. Not the first one I've had no didn't come as a huge surprise but still kind of sad to hear it again. I've bled a bit today which is random but I am prone to cysts so thinking it could be that.

Bouncytree · 23/06/2020 19:53

Oh sorry to hear that @jammyone. It’s hard no matter what, prepared for it or not. It’s understandable to feel sad and a little beaten up by it all. Hope you are ok. Some TLC for you this week. Sending kind thoughts.

I don’t normally get sore boobs of any kind for AF. Though someone on a thread did advise me after a MC she suddenly had sore boobs before AF, so it’s possible.

The cramps feel like AF, but they do anyway. Had them for about an hour...time will tell!

How soon after implantation can you test? I normally count backwards from my period due date. Can’t do that this month!

Bumblebee04 · 23/06/2020 20:13

@jammyone I’m sorry your going through that I’ve had numerous chemicals aswell they really do suck, although I’m not really prepared in my situation at the minute I know I would definatly be devastated if this baby didn’t stick they said for me they won’t even redo bloods so Ill have to just test again next week I think and see what’s happening x sending hugs
@Bouncytree thank you that is really helpful I guess they don’t know what to do with me at the minute I know exactly when was conceived too which was the 7th into the 8th of this month and then I got my first faint line on the 18th but wasn’t sure x I’m currently sat with about 15 used tests at table 🙈 but if it was an implantation bleed then mine started spotting on the Monday and I got a faint positive frer on Sunday which we now know my level hcg was 6 that day and frer says been known to detect as low as 6.5 but obv they are much more sensitive than that. I would be 2weeks today I think from when I dtd cos obv I can’t go from last period as that was 7weeks ago x just a very crazy and emotional time but your definatly right I’m just going to have to wait it out and see what happens xx wishing loads of luck for you xx

jammyone · 23/06/2020 20:36

Thank you @Bouncytree thats interesting. Its weird how different pregnancies can be, especially after carrying before.

Please do keep me updated both of you!

Bouncytree · 24/06/2020 21:14

How is everyone today?

It is very emotional @Bumblebee04. And I find myself doing this too, just searching for an answer on tests, on google, on forums. I feel for you, it is a very tough wait it out.

@jammyone how are you getting on? This TTC is definitely different from my first experience.

My cramps have been on and off, and have subsided, none since this morning and no sign of any bleeding. A bit sleepless last few nights, which I had on my first, and feel like my heart rate has been high. So feeling hopeful, but nervous here. I may be able to test tomorrow, though dates are a guess.

Its funny I have been testing like a crazy person last week when I kinda knew it was too early, and now the date is due I almost feel too nervous to go get one, afraid of the result.

Lol watch me run out the door in the morning to get one Probably! 🤣

jammyone · 24/06/2020 22:06

@bouncytree Wow, sounds really promising for you! You are being very restrained it is quite impressive. I also had sleepless nights in early pregnancy! I remember thinking it was awful, but compared to the next 2 years it was nothing really Grin

Bled most of yesterday, but it was more brown which I kind of expected. Feeling odd still and very bloated.

Bumblebee04 · 25/06/2020 09:18

hey lovelys x well I’m still going stare crazy with the unknown had cramping on one side I know the hospital said I wasn’t pregnant by my bloods I’m pretty sure if they do them again they’ll see they’ve rose especially with that frer I did on Tuesday being clear as day within 3mins, I havnt tested again since but going to pop out and get another frer to see, I’ve had cramping nausea only a little thank god but dizzy and lightheaded some days and really bad bloating x seriously guys I look like I’m 3month pregnant again 🙈 my boobs feel small still though and the cramping has been all one sided and I’m panicking thinking of @NJ2910 and what she’s going through so I’ve called doctors this morning instead of epu to see what they say I should do, has anyone heard from @NJ2910 do we know how she’s doing x I can’t atop thinking of her 🙏 x
And aw @Bouncytree bless you x you’ve done so well to refrain from testing but least you know If you get a frer today you can get a 2pk lol so can re test In few days if needed x it sounds promising for you 🤞🤞
@jammyone hope your feeling ok x and is it just brown blood your having I thought that meant old blood not new x it’s a nightmare when it starts like that because I wonder when you would start your cycle day 1 from again x I bled all through my 3 n half month pregnancy more so in the first 10weeks it’s crazy how everyone’s body goes different when I had a chemical before I bled for over 2weeks x sending love xx

NJ2910 · 25/06/2020 10:12

Hi everyone! So sorry for the radio silence, it has been a weird few days. I had my blood tests and fainted during one of them which was horrible- don't think this heat is helping :( anyway I had the results this morning and my HCG levels show that I have had an early miscarriage, so obviously I'm gutted but I'm also glad it wasn't an ectopic and I am glad to just have some information as to what was going on. Plus as the doctor said- the positive is that I am definitely ovulating and I can get pregnant, just need it to be a stickier bean next time🤞🙏🏻 thanks all for thinking of me though I really appreciate it ❤

I haven't read all the posts yet but will do now to see how you are all getting on 😊 it is nice this thread has turned into a support thread with some lovely people! Hopefully it can carry on that way xxx

@NJ2910 aw I’m so so sorry x sending lots of hugs x I’m glad it wasn’t ectopic for you and yeah I guess dr is right x at least you know that your body is working as should but I know that that doesn’t help how your feeling x really sending loads of hugs and I am so sorry, and yeah your thread has helped me loads it’s nice to be able to vent worries to woman that understand x I’ve just cancelled my dr apt as I went and got a frer this morning and I’m pretty sure the line is getting fainter x it’s wasnt fmu as was my other test but I defo feel it looks lighter x maybe that’s what my cramping has been x this is my mornings one compared to tuesdays so yeah 😢 feeling shitty today but at least I know what to expect now xx

jammyone · 25/06/2020 21:02

@NJ2910 Glad to hear from you. I'm so sorry to hear it wasn't good news for you, but relieved to hear it wasn't an ectopic. Its a hard old process isn't it?

Me and DH have talked and decided we are perhaps going to wait a few months until we try again, we've been through a lot recently and I am just about to start a new job so might be better to cool it on the old TTC for a bit.

@Bumblebee04 Its hard to say whats going on, the strength of the line isn't always the best/clearest indicator. I'd try another test with FMU to give it the best chance. I wouldn't say this necessarily means bad news. Have you had pain like this before?

Bouncytree · 26/06/2020 08:59

Sorry everyone, I’ve been so tired last few days. Good sign I hope! I had so much to catch up on!

@NJ2910 I’m really sorry you’ve had to go through that. I just have myself last month and I know how bruising it can be. It sounds like you had good care which is great. Unfortunately- but also in a good way- it is really common. It is very tough that this is a ‘normal’ part of conception.

@jammyone that makes a lot of sense, taking some time off sounds like it will be really healing for you. Nice not to think about at this jazz for a while and come back fresh! It is a lot of emotional labour for sure.

@Bumblebee04 hang on in there. I know the wait is agony! I think as jammyone says, there are a lot of variables so difficult to read the difference between the tests...but there is still a kind so there is hope.

I have my FMU in a jar covered with tinfoil and my husband is taking my toddler while I go get a FRER. The glamour! 🤣 feeling very nervous right now!

It is lovely to have this group. I really value the support 🤗

Bouncytree · 26/06/2020 09:25

BFN this morning. Disappointed, had some strong v symptoms.

It’s about 3 days since I had light cramping no blood. I’ve definitely very hormonal. Maybe it’s was my body getting back to normal after the loss. I think I ovulated around 16th but can’t be sure. So perhaps try again in a few days, I’ve no idea when AF due, but not feeling so hopeful!

Very heavy implantation bleed? Is this positive?
jammyone · 26/06/2020 09:29

@bouncytree Oh that is disappointing for you. It's easy to get hopeful especially when symptoms start mounting up. I was sure you would get a BFP. Sending you the biggest hug.

Bouncytree · 26/06/2020 09:45

Thanks @jammyone. My FMU was sitting there for 2 hours so might be a factor.

If I’m not pregnant, my body signals are all over the place! It’s so Wierd though, because I tested negative almost immediately after the loss, so don’t know why I am still have Wierd hormones and cramps. V annoying.

All so confusing!

Will try again in a few days. Though not holding out hope. I will almost be glad when AF turns up and hopefully everything is reset.

jammyone · 26/06/2020 09:50

@bouncytree Does sound very strange. Sometimes I wonder if our hormones get a bit confused because we want it so much. I was totally convinced and still "feel" pregnant even now. That being said I would definitely monitor and see how you go. When is AF due?

Bumblebee04 · 26/06/2020 09:54

@jammyone aw it’s lovely you both have a say sometimes we think it’s only stressful for the lady to concieve we forget about the men x well you know what maybe without the stress it could happen naturally that’s what they say anyway x I would still track your period days just incase and then you can go back on it if needed x good luck in your new job btw 😁 xx and it’s really painful it’s like pulling or tugging but only one side (left) but almost felt like a burning it’s not all the time and I get them mainly on a night when I’m laid in bed x I still feel nauseous and exhausted but not dizzy anymore my boobs feel a bit more fuller today than they have since I lost my angel x I’m going to retest Sunday or Monday n then I’ll know I think for sure what’s going on xx
@Bouncytree aw hunny I must have line eyes because I thought it was a line there at first x big hugs but maybe might be a bit early x and also I was thinking with mine and my last pregnancy for some reason my tests were darker at evening than morning so I think I have more hcg in the tea time the first frer I showed was done at 4pm ish and yesterday’s was fmu (probably clutching at straws) but I also found this on the website which might be good for you at the moment if you know when you ovulated and last period, I’m kinda guessing mine but on the chart I know that on the 21st my hcg was 6, (it was tea time so I’m going as late as the 22nd line) but it tells you what hcg doubles would be either other 42hrs or 72hrs x which makes me think well if I test on Sunday or Monday with a cheapie if it’s negative then I’ll know as the cheapie I have measures 25mIU I only have one frer left and I refuse to buy anymore 🙈 but maybe I just been testing to early and obv the frer is very sensitive x so I was thinking same for you if you know roughly where your ovulation day is then you could see when would be best to test with frer and others x hope it helps I’ll put it in pics that’s my chart but website written on top x I just googled hcg calculator lol but this site by far easiest for me to see xx sending lots of hugs hoping to see your BFP soon 🤞🤞xx

Bumblebee04 · 26/06/2020 09:58

Sorry @jammyone I meant it’s not very painful lol x made it sound like I was in agony there 🙈 xxx

Bouncytree · 26/06/2020 10:48

Thanks for your hugs and thoughts @jammyone and @bumblebee04. Yes I have in the past attributed random aches and pains to being PG, but seemed different this time. There actually is a medically recognised condition where you biologically give yourself hormones because you want it so much...but I think it’s more extreme! I am definitely guilty of hoping symptoms into existence though. Maybe I just feel generally off. I did feel pregnant for a few days after the loss, but it went again. Really wasn’t expecting anything this month. But those bullet boobs got my hopes up! Have to say they are still sore.

Thanks for the calculator @bumblebee04. Yes I am, I think 10 DPO, so should be able to test with FRER today. I too am not buying anymore! I have a bunch of cheapies I can use on Tuesday which is my approximate AF date.

Everything is a step forward though. And I will in a way be happy to see AF to move on. I have an expensive OPK kit waiting for use! Another month, another sexathon!

jammyone · 26/06/2020 13:51

Thanks for your kind words @Bumblebee04 :) The pain sounds really similar to what I've had for basically 2 weeks, left side tuggy feeling, occassonally I get it in the right side two. Similar to ovulation pain - do you get that?

@Bouncytree I didn't realise you were only 10dpo, definitely not out of the running yet. I didn't get of a line on a frer until 12dpo with my son.

Bouncytree · 26/06/2020 17:10

Pains certainly sound odd @jammyone. At least it is both so sounds like not ectopic. God our bodies change so much through this whole process don’t they. They are incredible and also strange! Who knows what’s going on.

Thanks @jammyone that’s good to know. I know it’s early and not even entirely sure of my dates. The negative is just so blunt isn’t it. Also hard to know where to draw the line, what is hanging on to hope and what is making something out of nothing.

My heart did sink when I saw the BFN, much more than normal. I kinda accepted it after a bit, but now also thinking boobs still sore, why so wrecked, why doesn’t heart feel like it’s racing. I also cried at everything on tv yesterday, including the real housewives of oc...that’s got to be the surest sign yet 🤣.

Not over till AF arrives I guess!

jammyone · 26/06/2020 19:10

It definitely isn't @Bouncytree ! I have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

I have this really strange sensation going on in my tummy, it feels like the muscles are tense and weak at the same time, that's the best way I can describe it. I'm sure I felt it in early pregnancy last time. I know I'm out but my body is playing tricks on me for sure!

Bouncytree · 26/06/2020 19:28

@jammyone, I know what you mean, kinda like shaky jelly, tense but wobbly. So frustrating when your body is ‘acting’ pregnant.it just doesn’t allow you to forget and makes you doubt.

I’m have the absolute rage tonight and that might mean AF on the way....though I have felt a bit like that for a few days, just stronger tonight.

I have been reading some positive stories and one person who didn’t test positive till 6 dats after AF was due. Gives me a bit of hope

I wish they made reusable frers, I don’t think I can bring myself to buy another. mind you we would just be testing all day!

Holding tight here, might test wed or Thursday if I can wait and no AF.

jammyone · 26/06/2020 20:43

@Bouncytree Yes that's it! It's so bizarre. I would have literally put money on being pregnant right now. It's strange, I guess it must be residual hormones.

I saw some interesting information earlier about the average dpo that women get a BFP and it was surprising, I can't find the link now annoyingly but this one is similar info. Might interest you!

www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Early-Negative-Pregnancy-Test-Before-a-Positive---Stats-Study.html

Bouncytree · 27/06/2020 07:10

Hi @jammyone, it is bizarre how the effects linger on even after the BFN. Maybe it’s everything contracting again. God the body in pregnancy /conception changes so much doesn’t it.

Just after my bleeding stopped I had surges of hormones in my breasts, I could feel them throbbing in my armpits. It made me certain I was still pregnant. I found it so cruel. That your body is still trying to convince you, and you are trying to accept the result. Hope you are doing ok, it’s such a tough process.

Thanks for the article on the days dpo, it is encouraging. Makes sense really. I don’t usually test early so Havnt been that aware of it.

I keep waking early here. Very annoying when my toddler is actually sleeping! Perhaps a symptom, but I’m kinda looking forward to hopefully having some kind of reduction next week. Even if it’s AF, this month I’m happy just to return to a regular cycle.
