Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

Looking on the Glow app I'm using for the first time it has logged the 17 times I have had sex this month and says that of my cycle buddies those who got pregnant last month logged sex 5.6 times.

It is crazy how much has to line up to result in s pregnancy when you are not super fertile at 20!

Stabal · 25/06/2020 12:31

@Flittingabout I don't think so, the lines were pink and were within 3 minutes. I might use a couple of different brands next time lol. That's really interesting about the app stats. Noone warns you of how difficult it actually is when you're younger!

Flittingabout · 25/06/2020 12:42

Sorry the updates came through after I posted and I think the other poster was right and it could have been a chemical. You must be so disappointed.

Yes I have read so much about different tests etc too. Minefield.

Jadeb1995 · 25/06/2020 14:56

Sorry to hear that @stabal

Stabal · 25/06/2020 15:14

Thank you @LT103 @Jadeb1995 💕 how are you both?
@Flittingabout disappointed but I guess this is the risk you take when you start properly tracking. I must resist testing too early next time! At least I can now enjoy a wine tonight and I'm off work until Monday so Wine cheers to all you lovely ladies for your support and here's hoping July is our month!

Jadeb1995 · 25/06/2020 15:18

I'm good thanks @stabal, hopefully this month is your month as well.
I've been using ovulation tests each day this week and I must admit it makes me feel more in control so I don't stress as much which helps!
Another person I work with has just announced she's pregnant, that's the 3rd in 2 months!! I'm happy for her but obviously very jealous so I spent last night watching Emma Willis Special Births trying to tell myself that one day it'll be me!!

Do your AF usually last long? Xx

LT103 · 25/06/2020 16:07

@stabal I’m good thanks. Got my peak opk this morning so hopefully into 2ww soon. This is the hardest part!!

Flittingabout · 25/06/2020 16:33

Yes it is the only reason I have held off until at least a few days late and have always had AF come.

Onwards and upwards.

Enjoy that wine!

Stabal · 25/06/2020 17:04

@Jadeb1995 I definitely felt more in control doing opks too and it's really interesting to see how the body is working. To think all this happens without us realising unless you're tracking is crazy. My partner is amazed at everything I tell him now 😂 AF usually lasts about 5 days, heavy and painful so at least I'm nearly 1 day down lol! x
@LT103 this really is the worst part but everything crossed for you! Do you take any supplements? x

LT103 · 25/06/2020 18:00

@stabal I’ve taken folic acid for a few months but changed to pregnacare conception at the start of this cycle so will see if it made any difference (other than turn my pee yellow 🙈😂) My cycle isn’t always spot on 4weeks but going by peak opk it’s looking that way this time 🤞
I’ve kept oh in the dark about my cycle, he’d rather not know and I don’t want to give him the pressure of right we need to go tonight etc. Think we’ve given it our best shot for now anyway. Just need to see what happens.

Stabal · 25/06/2020 18:17

@LT103 I think I mentioned earlier that my cycles are usually longer than average so although I was due tomorrow it probably wouldn't have came until late next week but it's 27 days now so I'm not sure if it's what I'm taking that's made it shorter or if it was a CP. I guess I'll find out next cycle (well, hopefully not)! I've never announced to my OH that I'm peak ovulation but I've shown him my months chart today and pointed out the dips in temperature and showed him all the LH strips 😂 we've been together 13 years (childhood sweethearts) on the 3rd of July so he's pretty aware of my cycle anyway without me having to say, I experience very obvious emotional dips at ovulation.. Unfortunately for him!

LT103 · 25/06/2020 18:25

@stabal it’s harder when you don’t know when af is supposed to come. I just think oh doesn’t want to have the timetable of when to dtd but it’s fairly obvious and I’m sure he knows 🤣🤣. Have you been ttc for long. The more I read about it the more I wish I had been ready to try sooner but I only met my oh 3 years ago

Stabal · 25/06/2020 18:35

@LT103 same, I don't think mine would appreciate the pressure so I just don't say anything but like you I'm sure he knows. Saying it out loud just kills any buzz though! We've been trying for 2 years past in February.. I remember before I was diagnosed with PCOS I had a horrendous bleed at 18 and was rushed to hospital where they thought I was having a miscarriage and all that was going through my head was, "oh god I better not be pregnant!" and the fear of both of us if my period didn't come for months and now 10 years later we're desperately wanting my period to never come lol. We had the discussion when I was diagnosed about how I might not be able to conceive and at the time it didn't seem a big deal but now it's so awkward and upsetting. We were over the moon when I got the positive test in April, I feel so guilty to have miscarried. I know it's not my fault but you just can't help feeling awful!

LT103 · 25/06/2020 18:44

@stabal it’s so common unfortunately but it’s definitely not your fault or anything you’ll have done!! I ty ink you spend so much of your life trying not to get pregnant but I didn’t realise how difficult it would be. I’m hoping it happens soon but I guess all I can do is try, it’s out of my hands!

LMA27 · 26/06/2020 06:43

Hi ladies just catching up, some good news (not TTC related) we got our offer accepted on a house yesterday yay! so I didn’t get chance to come on here and check any messages

@Stabal really sorry to hear that, but this is a new month, a new cycle, sending positive thoughts your way. It will happen 💛 amazing that you have been together 13 years!

@LT103 @CAG14 I’ve just done my first opk I’m on cd7 so low/no chance today but I’m excited to take another opk test tomorrow haha
thanks for the tips on how to use the opk!!
My partners son is with us this weekend so I had to sneak a tub to pee in and the opk & instructions into the loo before he woke up this morning 😂 he’s 12 & we get on great 😊 but I’m not sure what his reaction would be if he saw me with a tub and weird tests that look like pregnancy tests haha

Happy Friday all x

LT103 · 26/06/2020 08:30

@LMA27 yay that’s great news!!!! How exciting

Stabal · 26/06/2020 11:17

@LMA27 fab news! We need something good to keep us going don't we! Also really lovely you get on great with your partners son. Enjoy your weekend 🥰

CAG14 · 26/06/2020 11:57

@lma27 yay congrats! Is it your first owned house together? Me and OH moved into our first owned house in February (just before lockdown lol) and it is such an amazing feeling. I spend my whole furlough time looking at design and furniture ideas

@stabal that is weird about your cycles. But stuff you take can definitely have an affect. My cycle was only 24 days this time and usually 28-30 days so also wondering if it is something I have taken.

@LT103 ahh the dreaded 2WW! Good luck and we are here when you need us!

I am going to treat myself to an expensive bottle of wine tonight. For no reason other than I am not pregnant so I can drink. What has everyone else got planned for the weekend?

LT103 · 26/06/2020 12:06

@cag14 thanks. I’d like to say I’m going to be one of these relaxed people when it comes to this but I know that’s not the case. Had a little ovulation bleeding this morning so tomorrow will be 1dpo. I’m thinking I’ll hold off until 12dpo to test but we’ll see haha

LMA27 · 26/06/2020 12:09

@Stabal thank you! Enjoy your weekend too. I say you deserve a drink or 2 this weekend 🥂

@CAG14 yeah it’s our first house together, I sold my house March & moved in with OH and then we decided we wanted to extend the kitchen and then decided there wasn’t enough room if we decided to expand our family so we spontaneously put OH house up for sale and now buying this one! Hehe
Ohhh how much have you spent on online house shopping? 🙈😂

I’m not having a big drink this weekend as I’ll be ovulating soon enough and I’m hoping not drinking helps 🤞🏼 So can everyone have a drink for me? Haha

LMA27 · 26/06/2020 12:12

@LT103 try & hold off to do a test if you can, easier said than done I know haha the TWW is the longest 2 weeks ever because we drive ourselves mad 🙈 Fingers crossed for you x

Stabal · 26/06/2020 12:26

@CAG14 this is the last weekend we have before my partner goes back to work. He works weekends and I'm off weekends so we're definitely going to have a little drink tomorrow night with my sister in her garden (if the weather behaves). Other than that not much else planned! AF killing me today, currently waiting on painkillers to kick in before going on the search for more paint to finish our decorating!
@LMA27 will have a drink for you for sure 😂

bee1311 · 26/06/2020 13:02

Hello again all!

I'm fleeting in and out, but I'm still here checking in.

I'm after some advice, do you think 12dpo or 12 days since day of the deed (ha) is enough for a test? Xx

Flittingabout · 26/06/2020 13:41

Day 13 earliest is recommended on lots of threads

Stabal · 26/06/2020 14:14

@bee1311 it can be! There's a possibility you'll get a faint. You're better to wait obviously but if you really can't contain yourself then go ahead. If it's faint you can check again the next day or preferably 48 hours later!
