TTC baby no1. Looking for fellow crazy TTC friends!

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

@stabal which Femometer one do you have. I had a look and there were 3 different ones with huge price difference. I just have a cheap one just now but doesn’t read to 2 decimal points

@Pippy20 How funny we are pretty much exactly in sync with each other Haha. I cant say I've noticed any symptoms this month, a bit of cramping but that could just as easily be AF. It would be so much easier if it was like in the movies eh 🤣

@Stabal I have also drifted off with the thermometer in my mouth waiting on the reading 🤣 some days it's pretty quick at giving the reading and others it takes enough time for me to drift off.

@CAG14 it is very interesting actually and I was concerned that the whole alcohol/sleep and other small things can supposedly change the reading you get. I do get a slight increase the morning after drinking but not enough to throw my pattern off and certainly not anywhere as near a change I get before and after obulation so I would definitely say it's worth a go and wouldnt worry about cutting out alcohol or making any changes. And boo to the no static smile, was it another flashing? Hopefully you get your static tomorrow 🤞🏻 how many flashing is that in a row now?

@butterfly5291 I also use the femometer basal thermometer that @stabal uses and find it so handy that it links to the app. I actually got this free through the femometer app. They often offer free products in exchange for an honest review. I have received thermometer, opks, pregnancy test and even a menstrual cup through this. It's a really good programme and I believe their thermometer is on just now so you could pick up a wee freebie. How strange about your OPKs, did you line it up in the photo and it definitely picked up the correct line for the test line? The odd time when I do the intelligent recognition I need to do a couple attempts as I've had times were it is looking too far along the strip and picking up the join to where the coloured section starts if that makes any sense Haha

Anyone who doesnt already have a basal thermometer - I just checked and femometer currently have 2 on their test programme where you can get for free in exchange for a refund. 1 is the forehead one and 1 oral one. See photo. Hope this helps some of you pick up a nice freebie. This TTC is expensive business so always good to get a wee useful freebie 🤗

@LT103 I have the one that sync automatically via bluetooth but it's really not necessary. Any BBT will do as long as it reads to 2 decimals! You can still manually add your temperature to the femometer app so it will still give you a chart. Like @Mia1985x said they are doing a product for review thing at the minute that would be worth looking in to!

@LT103 you just click on Me along the bottom and then top right hand corner there is a wee envelope symbol. It's in there. Let me know if that works ok 👍🏻

I was sceptical at first as you buy the item, do the review and then send them an email and they refund you for it. But the first one I did was for OPKs that i would purchase anyway and was £10 so thought worth a try. Since then I've had about £100 in products and everytime they follow what they state and I've never had an issue getting the money back. Just incase anyone was wondering or put off by the way it works.

@Stabal yes I was thinking that stress could play a part in my body being a bit off kilter this month. Unfortunately it is catch22 as not conceiving also adds to my stress sometimes!

@Mia1985x thanks for the tips! Yes it was flashing again, that is 5 days in a row now. We will see if static appears tomorrow or Friday and if not I will just assume I'm out this month :(

@butterfly5291 no I dont have prime either. That's weird. You could drop them an email and just say you are interested in testing one of their thermometers if they still have this on offer and see what they say. They have always been so helpful on email to me. I've attached the full info when you click on the notification and it does say any questions just email. Worth a shot.

I’m due Monday and not a single symptom, but weirdly no pms symptoms either. I tested today at 9 dpo, just out of curiosity but knew it would be negative so wasn’t disappointed. Being told of redundancies at work next week and just wish I knew for sure I wasn’t pregnant so I could drink at the weekend. I don’t feel anything and I am a slave to my hormones so I really think I would experience some symptoms if I was.

I don’t think we are dtd enough in my fertile window, averaging 3-4 times. Anyone else the same? Feel like it should be more, but as many of you were saying it’s a lot of pressure on OH. Really want to follow smep next month.

@Faith82 oh gosh it sounds so stressful for you with work and not knowing.
I sometimes feel like that during my fertile window like it wasn’t enough times but then I know if I pushed OH for more times I don’t think it would work either way. But you could try the SMEP it seems to be something worth trying doesn’t it.

I have done the one thing I said I wouldn’t, and that’s google symptoms 🙈 sorry for the TMI but I’ve had some cloudy cm and apparently google says that could be a sign of early pregnancy... I’ve got 9 days till AF arrives so don’t know why I’m doing to myself..

@LMA27 how many DPO are you? I have had the same thing with cm the past couple of days too. And (again sorry for TMI) I normally find I am really dry and have no cm between ovulation and AF. I have also been peeing loads too which I know some people believe is an early symptom. AF due Sunday for me and got a BFN on FRER this morning. Hoping I could be testing too early but thinks it's more likely to be wishful thinking and me looking into things too much 🙈🙈

@Mia1985x I’m about 6dpo. I’ve also found I’ve been peeing more, especially in the morning I can’t sleep past about 5am without needed a wee which never used to happen.
I really hope you just tested too early 🤞🏼 are you going to do another test or just wait and see if AF doesn't arrive?

@LMA27 Morning! That's a good sign that you are waking up to pee when you wouldn't normally, fingers crossed for you!
I am going to test again tomorrow and if it's still BFN then I will just wait on AF arriving. Are you planning to test early or are you just going to hold off for AF? I find the TWW so hard and always wish my days away 🙈 then AF arrives and I'm just desperate to skip ahead and start all over again for another month.

@Mia1985x morning 😊 thank you, I promised I wouldn’t google and I’m usually really good at not doing it so not sure why I did last night.. I’ve got sore boobs too, but now I’m thinking do I usually get them this early before AF and I have no clue.
Eek hopefully something shows up tomorrow for you! I know I wish this TWW away too.
I’m telling myself I’m going to wait until AF is late to test as that’s what I usually do but I’ve already broke one of my rules so who knows ha

So I got a solid smiley this morning however my IC alongside it was negative. Like white and white can be. Every other month I have a solid smiley my IC is dark and positive. I'm so confused???

@CAG14 hmm that is strange... I feel like we should trust the cb opk rather than the ic due to how expensive they are, you’d think higher priced is better quality, but it’s weird they usually match up but not this month..
I’d say DTD anyway as you have a solid smiley, it’s detected something there so don’t waste it :) but again sorry for TMI but do you have any cm as this sometimes can indicate where you’re at in your cycle?

@CAG14 I have had that happen to me before too. Now call me crazy but this is the reasoning I went with for it - so your IC is looking only for LH surge which they say is normally 24-36 hours before ovulation. However, the CB is detecting E3G as well and the static smile specifically indicates your peak fertility day. Therefore, you could technically get a positive strip with your peak LH but by the time the next day arrives your LH surge has happened but it is still your peak fertility day. Does that make any sense? Ive seen quite a few other people saying they have experienced this.

@LMA27 weirdly I looked at my IC 10 mind after and it has gone a bit darker. Still not enough to be positive but a bit darker than yesterday. I think you're right given the price of them! This sounds rank but I find it hard to know with EWCM whether it is semen/the fertility lube/or my own fluids as we have been DTD pretty much every day. The conceive plus lube we use is very similar to EWCM for obvious reasons.

@Mia1985x I remember you saying you had similar. I think you may be right. I think it is reassuring to see the solid smiley anyway even if it is later on this month. I was getting a bit fed up yesterday! We DTD this morning and will do again tomorrow morning to try and make sure we catch it.

@CAG14 actually laughed out loud at your message haha I totally know what you mean, I don’t use the fertility lube but everything else just made me laugh as I’ve thought the same before 😂 no one told me When TTC I’d be willing touching and examining my cm trying to figure out my cycle haha
You’ve DTD today and planning tomorrow so I’d definitely say you’re in with a chance and what @Mia1985x said does actually make sense.

@Mia1985x @LMA27 to add more confusion I asked this question by creating a separate thread with just this question and someone replied with this:

"I had exactly this. Solid smiley at CD10 and nothing on an IC then positive on an IC at CD16. The IC was right and the CB was wrong. I am 100% sure of this as i also track my BBT and, more importantly, I fell pregnant that month and now have a baby.
As an aside, I got another solid smiley when I tested on the CB at CD16 but if I had trusted CB then I wouldn't have had my baby! Keep testing with the ICs and don't trust to the fact that you've already ovulated this month"

Soooooo this is a head fuck haha. I'm now worried I actually ovulated on CD10 which is when I got my darkest line but was the first day I did the CB (which is always blank the first day). I didn't DTD until CD13 as that is when I got first flashing smiley. I have never ovulated as early as CD10 but maybe the supplements I've been taking have altered this? Who the feck knows!!!!
