Hey girls, as @juno231 pointed out, we were almost at 1,000 messages on our last testing thread, so thought we should set up a new one for anyone that hasn't got their BFP this month. Of course a few of you may still get your positives :)

I'm just going to tag anyone that has posted on the thread in the last 24 hours or so, but please feel free to tag others that I've missed out...

@foreverhopeful67 @BbyBx2 @Muriel84 @Smushty14 @Smiling124 @33Carr @memily @LottieX

Of course this thread is based on a cycle of around 30days, so take the title with a pinch of salt as I'm sure some of us will be testing earlier and some of us later. I seem to be on track for a 33+ day cycle at the mo! xx

Does anyone know if this is normal? I think I'm meant to ovulate tomorrow or Saturday? Does your bbt drop before ovulation?

MintGreenLife · 09/07/2020 16:07

@fashu I don't think it does for everyone or every cycle, but it can drop before ovulation :)

OP posts:
Juno231 · 09/07/2020 16:50

@fashu unless you're ovulating today and that's why it dropped?

fashu · 09/07/2020 22:25

Could be @Juno231 I've been feeling quite bloated today, however could be all the snacks I'm having feeling sorry for myself that my husband is back in work on night shifts! I guess we will see tomorrow :D

EasterBunny7 · 09/07/2020 22:41

Sorry to jump in. I could really do with some advice. I have pcos. Ttc 20 months. On day 3 of what I thought is my period but it's completely different to anything I've experienced! Hardly any blood, dark brown in colour. I've tested negative but could that be because hcg levels aren't high enough on day 3? I'm concerned because I was supposed to take my clomid tablet yesterday but don't want to risk it if this is a pregnancy. What do you think? Am I imagining things?

fashu · 10/07/2020 11:48

Hi@EasterBunny7 I would call your GP/hospital and ask for a triage phone call if you can? I live in Liverpool so we have a Women's hospital here that you can call who deal with all things 'womanly' who I called when I had unusual symptoms, they were very helpful, is there something like that near you? I would definitely check if you are feeling unsure

fashu · 10/07/2020 11:56

So my temps have been around 36.2 give or take a degree since coming off AF. Yesterday was 35.9 and today is 36.6 so very possibly I have ovulated? Will see how things go for the next 3 days??
I did wake up slightly later than usual today (about 20 minutes) and did sit up slightly because I noticed my son had got in my bed (No idea what time, he's so sneaky!) Kind of hoping I have ovulated so I can test soon :D

MintGreenLife · 10/07/2020 12:09

@fashu does your temp chart have a coverline? Three temps in a row above the coverline confirm ovulation x

AnnaPosie · 12/07/2020 17:42

Tested today but got a BFN, I am 4 days late and usually like clockwork so I really thought this was it, I think the pregnacare vitamins might have thrown my cycle off, I've seen they can lengthen it so in future I'm just going to take folic acid.
Best of luck to the rest of you.

Happygolucky29 · 12/07/2020 22:53

Hi ladies, need some advice, so i tested negative dpo 12 then af started as normal 2 days later on 10th sorry for tmi - i had small amount spotting day before af just on wipe, then light bleeding day 1 with a few little stringy looking clots, then day 2 was light again no clots, day 3 this morning just little blood on wipe and nothing all day. Took another test but not frer as had used last one on 12 dpo. My af is normally like clockwork always been 3-4days but atleast 1 day heavier bleed with largish clots or would be medium but over 5days. Do you think there is a possibility im actually pregnant and if so when do you think i should test again or should i just carry on as normal an continue to ttc this month and see if af comes next month. I dont want to go buy yet another test if im just over thinking and it just a poas obsession but at the same time cant stop thinking its weird and i felt stange before af started but feel normal now. Confused Thoughts?

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 18:53

@Happygolucky29 hmm never experienced this personally so don't have loads of advice but I would say wait until missed AF before testing again. More conclusive then! Keep us posted.

MintGreenLife · 13/07/2020 19:18

@notyetamumbuttrying hey ☺️ I've been reading other threads about Agnus Castus and I may be wrong but think I spotted you might be using it? Just wondering what your experience has been so far and what kind of dose you are using? I'm three months off the pill and don't think I'm ovulating, so wondering if I should give it a try x

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 19:43

@MintGreenLife hi, you're right! Smileso for some unknown reason the ones I bought were 2200mg a tablet! 😳 I've since read that 800mg is probably enough so no wonder my periods lightened and my LP shortened lol! I would defo give it a try if you're not ovulating. I used them to delay my ov which it did by two days but the first time it shortened LP by two days making it 12 and then the next cycle it delayed it by one making it 13. I'm off them now so I'm sure I'll go bk to my normal 14LP as I've ov'd early like usual on cd10 this cycle. Just make sure you take a normal dose, or check with a dr first as it's pretty potent for a herbal tablet.

MintGreenLife · 13/07/2020 19:49

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks for your advice ☺️ Is there a reason why you've stopped taking them? Or just because of the crazy high dose? I think I'm either not ovulating, or I'm ovulating really late and having only a 3-4 day luteal phrase - from what I've read it sounds like it can help with either issue, so maybe it's worth a shot. It's so hard deciding what's best 🙈 X

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 20:25

@MintGreenLife I decided to stop because I'll be going to the drs soon and I wanted my cycle to be my normal rather than how I'd changed it. In case it affects any tests etc. I also just want to talk to a dr about my early ovulation so that I know whether to worry about it and try and delay it or just let my body do what it wants. It's a great tablet for hormonal imbalances as it did calm my pms, lighten my flow and delay my ov so it did everything I wanted so I won't knock it. I'm just not sure about taking it again until I've spoken to a dr and if they think my early ov is an issue or not. I hope it helps you, I'm almost certain it will tbh! Have you read the agnus castus thread on here yeah?

MintGreenLife · 13/07/2020 20:51

@notyetamumbuttrying ah fair enough, that seems sensible. I swear I have the opposite issues to you - late ovulation/maybe no ovulation, super light flow, and hardly any PMS! Yep I've read one that you're on as that's where I recognised the username, and I've been searching through older ones too.

I'm driving myself a bit crazy fussing over diet and what I should and shouldn't be doing right now. It's advised to cut out dairy post-pill as it can cause inflammation, so for a while for breakfast I've been having a mango, kale and spinach smoothie, but I've just finished reading 'It Starts with the Egg' which advises only two portions of fruit a day because of the sugar, so I've just bought a vegan protein powder to have a shake for breakfast, and have now read that peas in high volume can cause fertility issues - the protein powder is pea protein!! Can't win right now. Apparently studies in the 1960s looked into peas as a natural contraceptive, that's how good they are meant to be at stopping pregnancy. I can't not eat, so I'm just going to crack on and finish what I've bought and then switch to something else next month. Driving myself a bit mad trying to make sure I'm doing all the right things :/

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 20:56

@MintGreenLife it is so hard to know what to do for the best sometimes isn't it! But you're right, you do have to eat so just everything in moderation and then you can't go wrong! I eat loadsa fruit so perhaps that's where I'm going wrong 🤷🏾‍♀️

MintGreenLife · 13/07/2020 21:03

@notyetamumbuttrying I mean fruit is good for you, so I'm sure it can't really be an issue! I was eating around 4 pieces a day after cutting out refined sugars, but am going to try and limit it to 2-3 for now. My plan was to have my protein shake for breakfast 5 days a week, but maybe I'll carry on with my smoothies two days a week and then will just have the shake 3 days, surely that can't hurt!

I'm honestly considering this homeopathic 'pill detox' that costs £90. I've been watching the videos done by this particular woman for a while now and think I may take the plunge and hope that gets me back on track. It's £90 though, so a small part of me wants to try Agnus Castus instead as so much cheaper, but would hate to possibly make things worse!

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 21:38

@MintGreenLife not heard of that, might look into it. I'd give the agnus a try as I'm testament to seeing that your cycle goes bk to normal afterwards. Just start with a much lower dosage than me 😂

MintGreenLife · 13/07/2020 21:46

@notyetamumbuttrying haha thanks :) I've just ordered a book called 'The Period Repair manual' - in which the author discuses coming off the pill and various hormonal imbalances and what to do etc, and think she does recommend agnus castus, so will give that a read and then maybe give it a go! If it looks like it might not be the way forward then I think I'll take the plunge and purchase the pill detox. Keep me up to date with how you're getting on and how things go at the docs x

Juno231 · 13/07/2020 21:57

Ah shoot did we seriously get to the 13th and not have a single bfp?

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 23:29

@MintGreenLife thanks, and likewise!!
@Juno231 seems so 😔

eastcoastgirl · 14/07/2020 10:51

@Juno it seems so, unless I've missed one? Did Sussexbythesea get a BFP or did I dream that??

Next testing for me is 1st August, I'm just starting my fertile week this week. Trying tempting this cycle but not sure I'm doing it right. I haven't managed exactly the same time every morning, I think once or twice I've laid half awake for half an hour or so before I've temped and my temps all seem quite low - 35.41, 35.56, 35.83, 36.50, 36.50 for the last 5 days. Shouldn't they be between 36 and 37?

Good luck for this cycle to everyone else! Hoping for some more BFPs this time around!

notyetamumbuttrying · 14/07/2020 11:18

@eastcoastgirl I'll be due on again 28th July as my cycles are only 24 days long!
I don't temp for this reason, I think it would stress me out more! I hope someone can help though! I'm ovulating today so got one session in this morning, I doubt I can get him to do it again tonight but I'll try anyway 😆 we've done 4 days in a row and that's the most we've ever done in a row before. Not even on our two week honeymoon last year 😂
Good luck everyone!
