Hey girls, as @juno231 pointed out, we were almost at 1,000 messages on our last testing thread, so thought we should set up a new one for anyone that hasn't got their BFP this month. Of course a few of you may still get your positives :)

I'm just going to tag anyone that has posted on the thread in the last 24 hours or so, but please feel free to tag others that I've missed out...

@foreverhopeful67 @BbyBx2 @Muriel84 @Smushty14 @Smiling124 @33Carr @memily @LottieX

Of course this thread is based on a cycle of around 30days, so take the title with a pinch of salt as I'm sure some of us will be testing earlier and some of us later. I seem to be on track for a 33+ day cycle at the mo! xx

@MintGreenLife yes, he knows. He had a very excited me waving a wee covered stick in his face at 4am 😂 I’m going to be having a consultant led pregnancy, and not a midwife one which is a shame. I liked the familiarity and friendliness of a midwife.

Sussexbysea · 08/07/2020 12:19

@LottieX we’ll be baby buddies 💗💗

eastcoastgirl · 08/07/2020 12:47

@lottiex right that's decided it then, it's the magic book! Good idea about the free trial, I'll do that! 😁👍🏻

@Sussexbysea congrats 🥳 my dear! What a wonderful surprise!
@eastcoastgirl enjoy your free trial! You'll finish it in days anyway.

Good luck to everyone testing this weekend! Hope you don't end up with AF like me!

fashu · 08/07/2020 14:18

Think I may get this book! where do you get it on a trial?

LottieX · 08/07/2020 14:56

@fashu www.scribd.com I signed up for a free trial here, they have quite a few fertility books so can read a few! I just downloaded the app and read it on the iPad, it was really easy!

Happygolucky29 · 08/07/2020 15:05

@Sussexbysea congratulations 🥳🥳

fashu · 08/07/2020 17:20

Thanks @LottieX Grin

SmileyT · 08/07/2020 18:18

Ahh was just checking in on this thread and @Sussexbysea this is amazing 🥰 can't believe after trying everything in the previous months when you went on the pill you got your BFP, how many dpo do you think you are? xx

Sussexbysea · 08/07/2020 19:12

@SmileyT thank you, I’m so happy! How are you doing?

I must be around 17/18 DPO now but I’m not 100% sure because I wasn’t actively trying this month so I didn’t do any ovulation tests.

SmileyT · 08/07/2020 20:06

@Sussexbysea ahh I'm so happy for you, really hoping you have a happy healthy 9 months, funnily enough about the same time you were testing so was I and got a +ve today x

Sussexbysea · 09/07/2020 08:48

@SmileyT are you pregnant too?!

Juno231 · 09/07/2020 09:12

@LottieX I love this frugal approach!

@MintGreenLife have you been temping as well? I started that last cycle for peace of mind to see if I did indeed ovulate and it was a relief to see the chart looking like it's meant to. Saying that - I'm still feeling deflated as my body seems to be doing whatever it wants. AF was only one super duper light day this time round and arrived early so that worries me no end!

MintGreenLife · 09/07/2020 09:49

@Juno231 Yep this is my second cycle temping. Last cycle I got a positive OPK on CD33 and the next day my temp went up but not a huge spike, although highest temp I had since I started, then it dipped back down under the cover line again the next day, then back up again, and then down again and AF arrived that day. So either I had an extremely short luteal phase or I didn't ovulate.

It's so hard not to worry about every tiny little thing your body does that isn't the norm isn't it. I'm not sure which of the above scenarios I would prefer to be honest, probably neither! I think maybe I didn't ovulate as I didn't notice any cervical changes, but I did have EWCM for a few days leading up to the positive OPK, but actually for a few days after too. Think it's more likely I didn't ovulate and my body just gave up. Are you certain that was AF, or perhaps some kind of spotting instead? Wish there was a way we could have all the answers ha x

Juno231 · 09/07/2020 10:03

@MintGreenLife ah yes now I remember. Sounds like your body geared up to ovulate but didn't actually manage. At least the early AF cut that crappy cycle short and you'll hopefully have a better one this time round. To think that we used to be scared of missing a single pill lol.

Pretty sure my bleed was AF. It was 2 days early but if that wasn't it I'd now be late for AF and am def getting BFNs! I wonder if it means my lining is really thin and wouldn't be able to support implantation anyway.

MintGreenLife · 09/07/2020 10:09

@Juno231 oh gosh I know! To be fair I think for some women they can ovulate as soon as they stop the pill, so makes sense that they could get pregnant from missing one or two...but clearly not working out like that for us eeek.

Can you remind me how many cycles off the pill you are now? My two AFs (after withdrawal bleed) post pill have been light. My second was slightly heavier and more red blood than the older looking blood (sorry TMI!) so I felt like that was going in the right direction, but like you I've worried that if we did manage to catch the egg would it even be able to implant! The more I read into it the more I find people saying that it can take a whole year to get back on track after the pill, which is really disheartening, but at least we know it's normal to have various issues soon after stopping the pill and so should help with the worrying! x

OP posts:
Juno231 · 09/07/2020 10:17

@MintGreenLife I came off it in Sep/Oct last year so I guess 10 months-ish? I'm super spotty since I came off it as well, which I'm not used to at all. Makes me wonder if all those years on it I was just masking some light PCOS? Probably not but I'm worried about all the various scenarios!

MintGreenLife · 09/07/2020 10:21

@Juno231 did your periods kick back in right away? I'm getting spots on my chin which I'm not used to either, think it's just from hormones being unbalanced - they've only started this cycle too, which is month three off the pill. Are you taking any supplements or anything? I've started a few this cycle, but worry I'm taking too much. It's just endless uncertainty and not being sure if you're doing the right thing post pill isn't it!

OP posts:
Juno231 · 09/07/2020 10:31

@MintGreenLife yeah, I had a withdrawal bleed and then relatively regular cycles straight off the bat. I'm getting spots on my chin/around my mouth, jawline, forehead, temples... probably got a good dozen going on atm, makes my OH laugh! Supplements wise I keep adding more as the cycles progress lol. Started with pregnacare in Jan, and then in March I started adding more stuff so now I also take EPO and Omega 3 for my CM (as I noticed I only got EWCM maybe twice in a 5 cycle period, now I think I get it every cycle), and ubiquinol for egg health. I drink grapefruit juice during the FP for EWCM as well, pomegranate juice during the LP for my lining and eat pineapple during the LP for implantation! Am contemplating adding Vit B6 to the mix but will hold off to see what my day 3 tests say is going on hormone wise. What are you taking now?

MintGreenLife · 09/07/2020 10:40

@Juno231 Ahh I seem to be the same so far - first AF after 30 days, second after 36 - just goes to show that just because AF is back doesn't mean everything has gone back to normal! I got so excited then I got my first AF after the pill, and that's when we decided to TTC as I thought 'well things are back to normal so we may as well' - things were up in the air because of potentially having to postpone our wedding, which we have now done, so we weren't sure what we were doing for a while, but AF popping back up so soon made me think we would have a good shot at TTC in the timeframe we want before our wedding next year, but now I'm not so sure!

Wow you're really going for it, good on you for being able to include all of that and remembering everything! I started Pregnacare this cycle, and was already taking folic acid and vitamin D so have continued with those, also taking 'Vital DHA' which is essentially omega 3. I bought EPO but I never started taking it as was worried I was doing too much at once. I also take Vit E and a probiotic. I bought an additional vitamin c supplement and a b vitamin complex too, but I found one of them (or both) caused me bladder irritation so stopped those after just a couple of days. May try and reintroduce one by one next cycle. I'm seed cycling too - although currently stuck on 'cycle 1' at 22 days now with seed cycling as obviously haven't ovulated yet, going to run out of the pre ovulation seeds soon ha.

I'm reading 'it starts with the egg' at the mo, and I'm just on the bit about supplements, so may make some changes next cycle x

OP posts:
Juno231 · 09/07/2020 10:46

@MintGreenLife ha you're rattling too! Well I'm on cycle 7 now and like to feel a little bit in control by changing/adding something each cycle so the amount of supplements build up over time! I already know I could not be bothered with seed cycling though so I'll give that a miss. I've also done pre-seed before (although stopped once my EWCM ramped up) and put my OH on the male version of pregnacare and recently got him a laptop cooling pad so he stops cooking his goods with the laptop! I don't seem to be adding anything new this cycle though, guess I'm feeling a bit defeated.

I keep meaning to read that book! It's because of it that I'm taking ubiquinol but should probably have a proper look at it.

MintGreenLife · 09/07/2020 10:52

@Juno231 haha I know I thought that when I finished typing - that I'm actually doing quite a lot too! Doesn't feel like it across a day, but when you write it all out like that it's like 'ah this is actually a lot!'

Seed cycling is OK for me as I have a smoothie for breakfast, so I just chuck in some flax seed and pumpkin seeds. I think I will add in ubiquinol next cycle. I feel like we can't be doing too much with the supplements, as 'It Starts with the Egg' suggests taking about 13 a day, and that's a lot more than what both of us are on at the mo I think...only just though ha.

Sorry that you're feeling a bit deflated, I'm only cycle 3 so I can't say much really, only that I have days where I get super frustrated. This cycle probably from about CD16 until now I've felt pretty crappy every time I get a negative OPK, but then half an hour later I've calmed down and just remind myself that it's OK for my body to be a bit all over the place right now. As they say it can take up to a year to get back to normal, hopefully you're not far off now!

MintGreenLife · 09/07/2020 11:09

@Juno231 just been to do my OPK and got my first bit of EWCM this cycle! OPK is only slightly darker than yesterday's, but hopefully I'll get a positive soon! So funny to be excited about CM urgh

Juno231 · 09/07/2020 11:10

@MintGreenLife woop for EWCM! When I get it I usually get my peak the next day I think so fingers crossed for you :)
