Hey girls, as @juno231 pointed out, we were almost at 1,000 messages on our last testing thread, so thought we should set up a new one for anyone that hasn't got their BFP this month. Of course a few of you may still get your positives :)

I'm just going to tag anyone that has posted on the thread in the last 24 hours or so, but please feel free to tag others that I've missed out...

@foreverhopeful67 @BbyBx2 @Muriel84 @Smushty14 @Smiling124 @33Carr @memily @LottieX

Of course this thread is based on a cycle of around 30days, so take the title with a pinch of salt as I'm sure some of us will be testing earlier and some of us later. I seem to be on track for a 33+ day cycle at the mo! xx

Hi all mind if i join, I'm new to online groups but I have enjoyed reading about all your journeys and wish you all the best for this months testing.

Im nearly 29, we are ttc our first currently on dpo 3-4. Testing around 11th July

We started TTC last summer but stopped for a while and started again properly trying about 3-4 months ago and started on opks this month tried temping but i keep forgetting so gave up on that and feel like ive read the whole internet on ttc in 1 month lol

Only OH knows we are trying so will be nice to be on the journey with you ladies Smile Me and OH dont talk about ttc process i dont want to add any pressure and want to keep it fun if that make sense. Hope you all ok

Hi @Happygolucky, welcome!

Ok girls, what is everyone's opinions on how many days post ovulation we should ideally be waiting before testing? AF is due either sunday or monday, depending which app I listen to, and I got my positive opk on the 20th, so think I ovulated on Sunday 21st. This makes me roughly 9dpo. I'm thinking if I can get to Friday or better still Saturday , I'm more likely to get a reliable result? What do we think? Anyone else at a similar sort of stage?

X

Juno231 · 30/06/2020 14:38

@eastcoastgirl I'd say Fri/Sat - any later than that would usually imply a late implantation and those end up with 82% miscarriage rates anyway so if BFN at 12DPO maybe best to call it a day?

That's my current thinking anyway but I'm sure I'll change my mind when it comes to it :)

MintGreenLife · 30/06/2020 15:59

I haven't even ovulated yet so I'm going to be way behind you all! Wishing you lots of luck for testing :) keeping my fingers crossed for everyone xx

@eastcoastgirl im so impatient so will probs be testing around dpo 11-12 with early test as think that has quite high accuracy if timings right but really going to try and hold out until 11th the day before af due as i only want to tell OH after a week missed af to be sure.
Although not sure whats worse waiting to test or if its positive knowing and not saying anything for week and half.
Let us know what you do fingers crossed for you.

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/06/2020 19:03

@eastcoastgirl I'd agree with the others and 12dpo. I'm thinking of testing Friday too at 12dpo but I don't think I'll need to as can feel AF on her merry way already 😩

Happygolucky29 · 30/06/2020 20:40

@notyetamumbuttrying i read somewhere the implementation and AF symptoms/feelings are very similar so dont rule yourself out just yet, goof luck for testing x

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/06/2020 21:38

Thanks @Happygolucky29 but after 10 cycles I'm quite confident af is on her way. But suppose I could be surprised! I hope so one day anyway, this is driving me mad now 🤪how long have you been ttc?

Happygolucky29 · 30/06/2020 22:03

@notyetamumbuttrying hopefully you will get that surprise soon try stay positive i know its hard when your hopes up and dashed month in month out but i have seen so many people get positive when they didnt expect it.

We started last may/jun but stopped actively trying in November after we lost my nephew at 8months was put down to sids but now wondering if was covid related, really made us question if we still wanted to have our own ect. But decided in feb/march to start properly trying again im an auntie to 10 and they are all my world but the thought of being a mum absolutely terrifies me.

How do you ladies feel about becoming a mum?

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/06/2020 22:21

Ah wow so sorry to hear about your nephew @Happygolucky29! I only have one and another on the way in Aug and it's so great being an auntie I agree! Would love my own but it terrifies me too! I wonder if that's why it hasn't happened for us yet, perhaps deep down my body's saying no because of my fear, who knows 🧐

Happygolucky29 · 01/07/2020 15:14

@notyetamumbuttrying Thanks its ok been a few months now so gets easier each day, maybe that could be it but not sure how to get rid of that feeling as its the unknown Confused.

I read this morning that, having sex around implementation could reduce chances of conception by upto 40% as it could disrupt the blastocyst attaching anyone know any more on this or if its true, might need to rethink out ttc planning if its true Shock

Juno231 · 01/07/2020 15:52

@happygolucky29 I think there's a grain of truth in it but nothing conclusive? Some IVF clinics tell you not to DTD for 2 weeks after they insert the embryo (proper term for this escapes me) whilst others tell you to carry on as it's good for de-stressing. The idea is that the orgasms cause uterine contractions which could prevent/ruin implantation. Along the same lines of why raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil etc shouldn't be taken during the luteal phase.

Juno231 · 01/07/2020 15:57

@Happygolucky29 ah and with regards to how i feel about becoming a mum. A bit terrified tbh! I've wanted kids for years and I think I will absolutely love it - however thinking how all encompassing it will be is scary. Ie that once I have them that's it, no backsies lol. So no more evenings to myself, no easy travelling, can't just decide to pop out to friends randomly etc.

Saying that, I think it's what you make of it and I think my ideas are tainted by so many mums around me that are crazy rigid with routines. I definitely think I'll have more of a relaxed continental european approach lol. I legit have friends who would go on expensive all inclusive holidays without being able to have dinner in the restaurants at the resort even once because it was imperative that their boy had to be in bed by 7pm and have his bath routine first. So they'd just eat in the dark in their rooms whilst he slept... Meanwhile go to any mediterranean country and that kid would be sleeping in the pram next to the restaurant table whilst the parents are enjoying themselves!

Happygolucky29 · 01/07/2020 22:12

Well if its not my month im going to have to abstain from dtd in that window just in case and start yoga to make sure not stressed. There is so much to learn on this process feel like i need a book of TTC for dummies.

Glad im not the only one terrified and also very much wanting to concieve. i dont mind giving up anything i dont do much anyway, its more the worry and responsibility on making sure they are always safe and them becoming a teenager Hmm being an auntie to 10 and being a close family is a version on scaremongering and shows you too much bit like the news lol Grin

O thats funny about your friends i couldnt be like that either especially on holiday i would be as stressed as when at home. Holidays are about getting out with routine having fun and chilling and the kids love it to. Im sure you wont be everyone finds there own way what i know from my sisters is noone will agree with your way and they will all have opinions on what you should do it drives my sisters mad, aslongs the kids are safe & loved, feed and have a home not much eles matters. I think you will be able to do all those things if you have a support network just maybe not everyday and might take little longer but i know what you mean and im the same on the no backsies maybe thats whats actually so scary its not like anything eles you go through in life so dont know if ill ever be prepared just going to jump into the deepend and hopefully think what was i so scared off once in Smile

notyetamumbuttrying · 01/07/2020 22:33

Try reading the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant @Happygolucky29 you won't regret it! 👌🏾

notyetamumbuttrying · 04/07/2020 06:54

Morning ladies so I'm out already tested today at 13dpo and bfn so af will come tomorrow. I very much feel like I'm coming on and have done for days now so I'm at peace with it. Because of my short cycles I'll be testing again at the end of the month. So will stick with you all for a while yet. Good luck to any testers this weekend! 🍀

LottieX · 05/07/2020 20:06

@notyetamumbuttrying did AF arrive today?

I'm 10DPO today and I resisted the urge to POAS, yay! My cycles are usually 27 days so I've got 4 days left until AF arrives but not had any symptoms at the moment. If this month is successful it'll have been the Olympic swimmers because FW was the 30C days 🤣

How's everyone else's getting on? When is everyone testing?

eastcoastgirl · 05/07/2020 20:49

I've resisted the urge so far, due on either today or tomorrow depending which app I listen to but no show yet. Trying not to get myself too excited! The prediction is based on my last cycle I think which was only 26 days, but looking back through the last few months I've had two 26 days, two 27 days and a 28 day cycle, so if it's a longer one there's still time yet 🙁 I may test tomorrow (which would be CD28 and I think 15DPO) or if I can keep myself occupied enough I'll try and hold off until tuesday when I'll feel officially 'late'. How is everyone else getting on? @notyetamumbuttrying did AF arrive today as you thought?

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/07/2020 21:46

@eastcoastgirl @LottieX yep I'm on as expected and it's horrendous as always. Pain in my whole body 😫 good luck for testing soon you two!

LottieX · 06/07/2020 12:49

So I don't know whether I should do a FRER or not.. i just did an OPK and got a really high result (I've attached the comparison between this month and last below) I'm just too scared to do a FRER because every other time I've been disappointed 😔

I'm 11DPO now

Testing Around 11th July
notyetamumbuttrying · 06/07/2020 12:55

@LottieX looking good! Can you wait until morning and use FMU and you'll be 12dpo too. More conclusive then. Best of luck!

Happygolucky29 · 06/07/2020 22:20

@notyetamumbuttrying ill give that book a go thanks for the recommendation, sorry its not your month hope pain eases off but least you can now start new cycle x

@LottieX well done resisting the urge, fingers crossed for you x

It is so hard to resist the temptation of poas im sure its worse when they just chilling in a drawer even though you know its too early, once these last few are gone, im not buying anymore now until i miss a day im sure it making me more psycho crazy lady, so if i have to go out to the shop it will help when the urges comes. Well hoping so anyway x

notyetamumbuttrying · 06/07/2020 22:29

@Happygolucky29 no worries. Thanks, it's eased off now thank god!
Yeah it will help not having any in, when are you due to test?

Happygolucky29 · 06/07/2020 22:43

Thats good Smile

im due to test on Wednesday which will be 12/13 days dpo then af due sat, i tested this morning which was negative but already knew it would be as hcg levels wont be high enough but once the thought is there i cant help myself Blush i dont know if im now more focused or if i always get them but had some twinges in my rightside this month and last few days when i wake up have this weird churn cramp feeling accross my belly and really need to wee straight away trying not to get my hopes up to much but keeping my fingers crossed.

Happygolucky29 · 06/07/2020 22:48

Also I am generally really lucky with af and never get cramps or pain just get bit moody and spotty and on every 2 to 3 months aches in lower back which only last about a day, its good but never know when af is actually coming apart from the app estimate which has been pretty accurate lately x
