Hey girls, as @juno231 pointed out, we were almost at 1,000 messages on our last testing thread, so thought we should set up a new one for anyone that hasn't got their BFP this month. Of course a few of you may still get your positives :)

I'm just going to tag anyone that has posted on the thread in the last 24 hours or so, but please feel free to tag others that I've missed out...

@foreverhopeful67 @BbyBx2 @Muriel84 @Smushty14 @Smiling124 @33Carr @memily @LottieX

Of course this thread is based on a cycle of around 30days, so take the title with a pinch of salt as I'm sure some of us will be testing earlier and some of us later. I seem to be on track for a 33+ day cycle at the mo! xx

Thanks for setting this up,

Congratulations on all the BFP's!

I'm due to test middle of next week. Currently 8dpo.

These groups really help me get through the days, love reading everyone's stories

eastcoastgirl · 11/06/2020 20:10

Jumping on here. Its cycle 3 for us now, I'll be testing around the 6th July according to one of my apps.

Smiling124 · 11/06/2020 20:16

Hi everyone! We have beeb trying since December, I know its not long compared to lots of others but seems like a life time! Lets keep positive @MintGreenLife not over till AF! Hi everyone! AF due tomorrow (sitting at day 31 of my cycle) but not tried ovualtion strips etc so going on averages!! Still feeling so rough but cannot tell of its normal af or differernt!! These threads are keeping me sane!

MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 20:17

@PippaRoo88 it's probably not a bad thing that you've been chilled about it so far ☺️ Hopefully you'll find OPKs pretty easy to use and will be able to detect your peak so you can carry on being fairly laid back. Let me know if you have any questions at all. This is only my first cycle but I'm working part time ATM because of the current situation, so I have a lot of time on my hands to read pretty much everything I can find about TTC 🙈 X

@notyetamumbuttrying snap! Just catching up on messages now. Short cycles here too. This month AF arrived on what would have been CD27, so was only a 26 day cycle. I'm due on 4th July too.

eastcoastgirl · 11/06/2020 20:26

@mintgreenlife I'm going to try the same as you with the OPKs this month. I've got the CB fertility monitor, which asked you to test from about day 6 or 7 I think, but I'm combining with the cheapies this month just to double check. CB asks for FMU, so I'll do those in the morning then when I start showing High results, or according to what the flo app and SMEP is telling me I'll combine with an internet cheapy in an afternoon. I've ordered some of the preseed as well - feel like I am tooled up for this month 😂

eastcoastgirl · 11/06/2020 20:39

Does anyone use the premom app and could answer a question for me please?

Under today's date it's showing me the message 'after period start testing the find the LH baseline' (due to finish today), then on tomorrow's entry it says 'start ovulation testing once a day'. Are these the same tests? Should I test today or wait until tomorrow? Are these the ones that people recommend taking in the afternoon? X

MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 20:42

@Smiling124 well that's true, I just have a feeling AF will come soon, I'm due just the day after you ☺️ So tempting to test tomorrow, but think I'll leave it and see if Af comes first, if not I'll test Sunday x

OP posts:
MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 20:46

@eastcoastgirl we used preseed this month too!

I use the Premom app and the easy@home OPKs. I think it basically suggests you use them through your cycle for the first time to understand what your normal LH levels are, although technically even if you get a darker line it's still not a positive until it's darker than the control, so not entirely show how useful finding your baseline is 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did it anyway and started from the day my period finished ☺️ The OPKs I used said you could do them from 11am until early evening I think. I found I was more likely to see a dark line when I was getting a surge if I tested around midday, but that's just coz I find I drink a lot more in the afternoon. Apparently the best time to test is between 2-3pm x

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/06/2020 21:42

Ooh snap for af due date then! @eastcoastgirl my cycles are either 24 or 26 days long, very odd lol

LottieX · 11/06/2020 22:08

My favourite app so far is femometer as it was by the bbt thermometer I bought. Slightly obsessed with checking my chart and comparing it to others 🤣 it's very reassuring to see how different is and everyone has their own normal!

I used preseed last month, I enjoyed it but my biggest tip would be to pop some in 10-15 mins beforehand (if you can)!

MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 22:28

@LottieX do you have to use a specific thermometer with that app? I input my temps manually into Premom, but feel like it doesn't give me that clear a chart. My BBTs made no sense this month, but maybe if I used a better chart I might be able to make more sense of it x

Hi ladies!!

I had a little break, decided to stop trying for the past two months as wasn’t too keen on a Jan/Feb baby and was a bit worried with covid etc and making sure we were ok financially etc. AF arrived yesterday so we will be trying again in July so fingers crossed, OPKs at the ready!!

33Carr · 12/06/2020 06:25

2nd BFN for me on DPO15 so I'm out. This is the third day AF is now late but I'm sure she will arrive today!

Bertyb7 · 12/06/2020 07:53

Hello ladies!

Hope you don't mind if I join. I have been following lots of threads for the past month or so but it has been too early for me to join one properly (I recently got my implant out and wanted to have a cycle first but rearing to go now!). I am so glad in found Mumsnet- there is so much support, keeping spirits up and rooting each other on though a stressful time on here, it's so lovely to see.

I am 30, DH 30 in 10 days and we are TTC baby 1.
AF finished on Tuesday, Natural Cycles tells me that I will ovulate on 25 June so I will be testing around the 9 July.

I think we are going all in and trying a form of the SMEP even though it's our first month 🤣 (DTD no fewer times than it says in the program but maybe more). I say this optimistically now on CD 7 but might be quite tired with all the DTD later in the month!

Good luck to everyone testing, trying and waiting. Baby dust to all! Xx

MintGreenLife · 12/06/2020 09:15

Sorry about the BFN @33Carr will keep my fingers crossed that July is your month 🤞🏼 Xx

LottieX · 12/06/2020 09:16

@Bertyb7 welcome!

@MintGreenLife I've attached my femometer and premom chart below! I think it definitely indicates AF is on its way for me today if not tomorrow. I still manually input all the temps but there probably is a way to pair it so it does it but Bluetooth but that's more fiddly to me than just putting it in myself.

I still use Premom though as I like being able to see how the LH surge and the temps go hand in hand. I think your cycle is just stabilising so next cycle you'll have a much clearer chart x

Thanks @mintgreenlife, I'll start testing with the OPKs this afternoon then!

@Lottiex good idea - I did freak out a bit when I saw the syringes! It all looked a bit clinical and a bit of a passion killer 😂

Welcome @bertyb7, wishing you lots of luck with your first cycle! Haha I know what you mean about feeling a bit optimistic about keeping up with the SMEP. That's our (my 😂, OH so relaxed he's horizontal) new plan for this month and I am concerned DTD may become a bit of a chore. We were a bit more relaxed last cycle, after wearing ourselves out SWI the first month. I'm hoping the fact that it's only every other day apart from those 3 days at the end will help keep up the stamina 😂

Juno231 · 12/06/2020 09:42

@ForeverHopeful67 how's the chart today? My RHR has gone up 1bpm to 64 - which is back to the highest it's been all cycle. Thing is I had a glass of wine last night so now I'm second guessing it thinking it only went up because of that!

MintGreenLife · 12/06/2020 09:54

@LottieX thanks so much for sharing. It's encouraging that your chart temps aren't crazily different between easy stage, hopefully that's why I've found mine hard to read, as I only started around CD15 I think. How do you download your chart on Premom? Can't seem to work it out 🙈 Thanks so much for sharing those with me x

Hi 👋🏼 @Sdoo4 and @Bertyb7 lovely to have you join xx

OP posts:
MintGreenLife · 12/06/2020 10:00

@LottieX I worked out that you can turn your screen and then screenshot it 😂 Mine looks a lot more erratic than yours, but it's never added a cover line, I guess because I only started half way through, so makes it trickier to try and interpret. Just downloaded the femometer app, will see if I can input my temps so far this month and see if that makes more sense ☺️ X

Hi All,
sorry about your BFN @33Carr
So I got my FRER last night, hubby said best to wait for FMU, agreed so took this morning.
It was the same very faint line. So no progression over 6 days. Surely I can't be that unlucky to have EVAP lines on 4 different brands???
So now I am almost convinced my HCG hasn't gone back down to undetectable levels since my MMC and the only reason I got a negative in April was because the test was a IC.
I did call the hospital to tell them that I think that's whats been going on, but they won't see me :( They said keep checking every week....... think i'm going to use my other FRER on Monday, and if its the same demand a blood test. So frustrating. Had a little breakdown in the morning, but managed to go back to sleep for a while and feeling better.
That's probably why I had dodgy OPK results aswell. I'm probably not even ovulating........

Will start temping this month then to see whats going on there. Can anyone recommend any apps?

Thanks and good luck to all of us this month.
PS. AF now 5 days late

MintGreenLife · 12/06/2020 10:33

Sorry to hear that, that must be very distressing 😔 Hope you can take it easy this weekend and look after yourself. Let us know how you get on Monday.

Myself and @LottieX we're discussing/sharing BBT charts above. Premom is good as you can chart BBT and LH levels on the same chat, but as reccomended by Lottie I've just downloaded the Femometer app too, which is primarily for BBT. I'm using both as at the mo I can't make a lot of sense of my temps, so hoping having two apps will help x
