Pregnancy after MMC

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale
Thanks everyone

@MrsTtobe @msanne @Bells993 (I won't tag Leaf because I don't want to ruin her holiday)

Morning ladies, think it might be game over for me. Had some v.mild cramps followed by a huge gush of bright red blood at about 8pm last night. About 3 wipes worth. No accompanying pain. Ever since have just had v.mild brown spotting when I go to the loo but I can't help but assume the worst is happening. Again. Managed to actually get through to my GP surgery for 8am and am waiting for a phone call back this morning to discuss. Had my big cry last night and DH has told work he's not going in today so he can be with me at home / drive me to hospital if needed. Really hope this isn't the end after such strong lines on all my tests but I can't help but assume the worst. Xxxx

Bells993 · 10/08/2020 08:29

@Frankincense88 oh no babe :( I’m so sorry if this is the worst. Hopefully you might be okay? Try and keep positive, hopefully your doctor gets you in to give you some answers! Can you call the EPU aswell as a back up? GP’s can be quite dismissive sometimes regarding pregnancy I feel!
How many days ‘late’ Are you now?
Chin up babe, keep strong! You read about women having bleeding and being fine! The fact it was only 3 wipes could just be late implantation! I’m sure if it was a MC it would be heavy! Xxx

Frankincense88 · 10/08/2020 08:34

@Bells993 technically 9 days late today so cycle day 36. I'm usually 27/28 days. I really want to avoid going to the EPU if possible, partly because I don't think they'll see anything on a scan yet anyway and partly because of the awful treatment I received the last 2 times I was there. Don't think I'd cope having to go there and do all that by myself again. Def isn't implantation bleeding, it's too late I think and I don't think I would have got a CB 3+ on a digital if I hadn't implanted. I don't know it's all a bit stressful and confusing! Send out positive vibes for me that I get some news xxxxx

Bells993 · 10/08/2020 08:42

@Frankincense88 ahh yes I forgot about your EPU experience! Oh god 9 days late and 3+ on the test so really really strong! Super confusing for you!
Plenty of rest today (if you can)
Sending everything your way! Keep us updated as soon as you speak to your GP
Lots of love :( xxxxx

@Bells993 will do. They said I'd get a call this morning so that could be 9am or 11.45am - just in limbo atm waiting xxx

MrsTtobe · 10/08/2020 09:33

Oh no @Frankincense88 sending hope and love your way. No point in me saying try to relax because if you're anything like me I was absolutely in distress as soon as I saw any kind of blood. Nothing prepares you for that feeling. It is horrific. When I had spotting this time I was completely floored. I just couldn't concentrate on anything else so I truly know how you must be feeling today. Im sorry you had bad experience with EPU. Ive got to say given the situation mine were pretty good and very sensitive. But one bad experience can put you off and I understand that but they are the best at dealing with this kind of thing. The GPs don't usually have a clue.
An ultrasound might not be useful yet but they may do an internal scan.
How is the bleeding now?
My miscarriage and other people I know that have been through it have all generally had the same experience. Starting off with light spotting and progressing to heavy.
From searching the internet for hours on end I know there are lots of reasons for a sudden gush of blood and most of them not mc. So keep that in your mind too!
We're here for you and will keep you in my thoughts xxx

msanne · 10/08/2020 09:37

@Frankincense88 - sending you lots and lots of love and hopeful vibes. Please do resist the urge to think the worst...from my reading, i've heard a lot about early bleeding that could be loss, but could equally be nothing. You haven't continued to bleed and you may have had an internal bleed inside your uterus (I've had one previously). Cramping pain is also totally normal, i've had such bad cramps, that I've been floored this past week. You need to rest and keep hydrated. It's good that your husband is with you, so please get as much comfort as you can xoxoxo (((((hug)))))

Please keep us posted - thinking and praying for you xoxo

Frankincense88 · 10/08/2020 09:55

@msanne @MrsTtobe @Bells993 thanks girls. Since that initial gush of bright red last night I've just had v.faint brown spotting and the last time I went to the loo (10mins ago) there's virtually nothing there. I've read lots about how it could be nothing and just an internal bleed etc but in my head if I prepare for and assume the worst I can't be more disappointed at a scan (twisted logic I know). GP has just phoned, they said to monitor it for a week and do another test to assess the situation and to ring back. As I suspected she said it'd be pointless sending me for a scan at 5 weeks but if things progress or if there are any changes in the next week I need to call them again for a referral and they'll send me for a scan. Trying to keep myself busy today and be positive but it's really tough Xxxxx

msanne · 10/08/2020 10:10

The waiting is going to suck but you are 1 week away from a scan in which you should be able to see something - stay strong. Maybe Netflix and chill? Just be cool and try not to overheat as it will make you feel worse.

Sending you lots and lots of love xoxo

Leaf87 · 10/08/2020 11:27

@Frankincense88 just seen this, I still get notifications even if not tagged. I am so sorry to hear this but as the others have said try not to panic it could be something or it could be nothing!!
Netflix and chills for today and take it easy all week. Unfortunately its frustrating waiting but we can not do anything to alter the outcome. Sending you massive positive vibes and thoughts. If your having a netflox day I recommend selling sunset... pure trash TV brilliance!
💛

Bells993 · 11/08/2020 08:31

How are you this morning @Frankincense88 ? Been thinking of you 🤞 what day are you going for your scan next week? Xxxx

MrsTtobe · 11/08/2020 08:44

Morning girls,
How are you feeling today @Frankincense88?
How has the bleeding been? Thinking of you! Hope you're trying to rest and stay positive 🙏❤ xx

Frankincense88 · 11/08/2020 08:45

@Bells993 Hi lovely. No idea what day yet as I have to phone the GP on Monday with results from my HPT. I did a cheapie this morning and the line is still really strong but tbh I think it's too soon to tell if HCG is dropping. I've ordered some FRER, CB and got a digital with the weeks leftover so will do them all on Sunday and go from there I think either way I'll need to go for a scan but the GP said as I'm not under the care of the EPU anymore I need a referral.

Haven't had anymore red blood, just light spotting on and off which is only when I go for a wee (nothing in a pad at all) and it's light browny smeary-type consistency. No cramps or pain whatsoever and have started to get sore boobs otherwise still symptomless!

I've really appreciated all of your positive thoughts and support - keep sending out those positive vibes for me this week. I'm trying to think what will be will be and distract myself but it's hard when you're not at work!! Xxxxx

MrsTtobe · 12/08/2020 07:48

@Frankincense88 just checking in on you again. That's really positive that the bleeding seems to have been isolated and isn't getting progressively worse. Have the cramps you were having stopped?
That was possibly the worse nights sleep ive ever had. I was absolutely boiling, my eldest woke up at 12 with a nose bleed and then youngest got up just as I was falling back to sleep. Lightening was amazing to watch though. Did you girls all have it last night too? Xx

Frankincense88 · 12/08/2020 07:53

@MrsTtobe morning! Yes spotting is barely noticeable now - just a v.v.light tinge only when I go for a wee and died off a bit last night. No more pain at all and sore boobs have started to get worse. Resisted doing a test this morning - I might do one tomorrow just to check as my FRER arrive today. Feeling a bit more hopeful but don't want to get my hopes up too much 😩 all being well i think I might book a private scan to see what's what so that DH can come.

Lightning here was insane! Whole sky was pink and purple ⚡️ xxx

Leaf87 · 12/08/2020 08:53

Morning ladies
@Frankincense88 so glad everything seems to have settled down again, sending massive positive thoughts. Private scan maybe a good idea if it helps put your mind at ease!!

This is a bloody amazing, lucky group - touche ladies!!

Lots and lots of love xoxo

MrsTtobe · 14/08/2020 11:23

Omg!! I always bloody miss the pregnancy announcements!I never get the notifications!
Im so so so so happy for you @Leaf87. We've all been through the mill but you in particular had a really tough time and you coped amazingly. So positive throughout all of it and I told you time would fly be and boy it really has. Just over the moon for you. This thread is the most fertile on mumsnet I think. 😂😂 Or our OHs have got some Olympic swimmers. 😜😂

@msanne how are you? My nausea has slowed right down and has been replaced with mammoth heartburn. 😏 I'm not sure which is worse but at least I can actually eat again! Ive missed food.😂I had my results back from blood tests/nuchal translucency etc and ds and 1 in 10,000 and the others were 1 in 100,000 so think that's ok given my 36 years! 🙏

@Bells993 how are you doing lovely? Are you showing yet? I was so bloated from the day I found out till about 10 weeks. Now ive got an actual bump. Had to order some maternity clothes already. 🙈

@Frankincense88 how are you? Only 2 weeks holiday left. 😭 Looking forward to seeing my kids, not looking forward to Monday morning traffic and marking! 😭 Have you had any more bleeding/spotting? Hopefully not. 🙏 You booking scan for the last week of the holidays? Xxx

Frankincense88 · 14/08/2020 11:37

@MrsTtobe I know it's flown by too quickly! I've done absolutely nothing except watch box sets and swelter in the heat as well 😂 looking forward to seeing the kids too - but with you on the marking. I still need to do a load of planning for a new novel I'll be using with Year 9 but my laptop keeps dying in the heat and I do not make powerpoints / resources when term has started! I've got 3 x GCSE groups this year on top of my 4 x KS3 so my marking load will be through the roof 😂

Since Tuesday afternoon I've had no spotting / bleeding whatsoever. Did a regular CB test this morning at 6am and still a v.strong line so keep everything crossed for me. Bought some FRER on amazon that turned out to be fake so I complained and they refunded me within minutes! Going to do my remaining digital on Sunday / Monday just to check it's still 3+ then try and hold out until end of next week for a scan. I don't really want to wait until the end of the holidays because if I get bad news I'll need time to process it and don't want to miss the beginning of term. So at least end of next week I should be between 6-7 weeks and should be able to detect something. I still think I'll hold off before contacting the midwife though just to be sure.

@msanne @Leaf87 @Bells993 Hope you're all well ladies - it's finally cool enough here today to be mildly active so I'm cleaning my entire house while I still feel like it! Something to keep my mind busy 😂 xxxx

Bells993 · 14/08/2020 18:18

@Leaf87*@Frankincense88 @MrsTtobe* @msanne
I know so fertile it’s amazing! Defo made this year much better!

I’m good thank you all... had another scan today (3rd one 🤣) was all good, baby was moving around, arms and legs going which was great. I had this scan at a window to the womb not my Gyno and she put me 3 days back from what my Gyno has said at both appointments. She said it’s common as you get further along to get a more accurate reading. Worried me a little as I was 9 weeks 6 days she said 9 weeks 3 days. Have any of you had this? I guess this is the problem when you have so many scans haha, normal people don’t do this 🙈🙈

I’m defo bloated, by the end of the day I look preggo, in the mornings not so much! No symptoms still just the smallest of things take it out of me. I’m thinking this one is defo a girl!

How is everyone else?

Great news everything has settled down for you frankincense 🥰🥰🙌 have you got a scan booked yet?

@MrsTtobe are you going to find out your gender? Xx

@Bells993 @MrsTtobe @msanne @Frankincense88 glad to hear everyone is OK!
@Bells993 I wouldn't worry to much I think like you say the bigger the baby gets the easier it is to date. Most people wouldn't know at this point, it may change again before 12 weeks.

I am ok still on holidays feel OK starting to feel a bit quesy and had some dizzy spells when I stand up. Other than that feel perfectly fine. Home Sunday may do one more test just to solidify then stepping away from tests!! I can not believe your six weeks hols are almost over. 2020 is the fastest and slowest year if my life!!!

Frankincense88 · 15/08/2020 09:27

@Leaf87 @Bells993 @MrsTtobe @msanne Morning ladies, scan is booked for Thursday afternoon - I wanted one for the weekend but the place only had slots available for Wednesday or Thursday. Terrified something will happen between now and then so keep everything crossed for me. I should be somewhere between 6-7 weeks so fingers crossed will see something and have good news. Trying to keep myself busy and take my mind of it but I'm still frantically checking every time I go to the loo. Saving my digital for tomorrow as the doctor said to test again in a week 🤞🏼

Have a lovely weekend! More cleaning for me now it's actually a bearable temperature! Xxx

msanne · 17/08/2020 11:10

Hi Ladies,

I've been so sick all weekend so sorry for the lack of messages - this pregnancy is being super hard on me. I've had nausea, headaches, pelvic pain (feels like my insides are going to fall out) and just cannot sleep. I am so exhausted. My scan is on Wednesday but am still waiting for my NIPT scores, which is a joke as I should have had them back by now.

@MrsTtobe - those stats are good. I am so happy for you :) have you tried taking Gaviscon for heartburn? I've been popping paracetomol like sweeties all weekend!
@Bells993 - being a couple of days off is fine - baby will catch up so I think you should stay positive. You've had such reassuring scans so far!
@Frankincense88 - good luck for Thursday. In the meantime, just focus on resting. I really hope your bubba is growing nicely and healthily xx
@Leaf87 - the joy of pregnancy symptoms! I hope you get them ok and manage easily as @Bells993 has :)

Have a good week ladies. Lots of scans to report back on - onwards and upwards xx
