Pregnancy after MMC

Bells993 · 04/05/2020 10:55

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale
Thanks everyone

@msanne I use the CB OPK but not sure if it's advanced.. it's the digital one with the smiley faces if that helps! Got everything crossed for you!

@MrsTtobe yep, high school here 😂 I love it no two days are the same when teenagers are about. I think you're either definitely a 'primary' person or a 'secondary' person. I couldn't cope with all the crying / toilet incidents in primary 😂 xxxxx

Leaf87 · 11/06/2020 10:31

@MrsTtobe this is amazing news so very happy for you!!! Absolutely great news!!!! Flowers

Sorry I am quite girls just all over the place, hormones still high retest 17th at least they are testing me every two weeks but I am out for a good few months I think

MrsTtobe · 11/06/2020 10:34

@msanne thank you so so much. You've made me cry again. 🙈🤣 You're so right, a miscarriage or termination changes a woman forever. Something I once completely took for granted. I thought you got pregnant and were guaranteed a baby pretty much. Definitely a little more cautious but trying to be positive. Rooting for you girls. ❤
CD 15 for you. How you feeling in yourself?

@Frankincense88 yes definitely one or the other. 🤣 I worked in Early Years for a long time but think I'm definitely settled now im KS2 and I'm not mopping up poo, sick or tears for 90% of my day. 🤣

msanne · 11/06/2020 10:52

@MrsTTobe - happy tears are good tears :) I feel ok mostly. Had awful migraine a few days ago and then had to throw up a few times (so about CD 10 this was). Then been ok, with slight cramping in my pelvic area and today tonnes of EWCM - but my CB OPK says I am only "high" fertility, not"peak". Trying to get DH to take a break this afternoon so that we can DTD (not quite sure what to do with DC - but am sure Netflix should entertain them for long enough) - but with meetings piling up I am not sure it's going to happen.

I want my FW to be over already this month so I can take a rest lol! Trying not to symptom spot and waiting for my 2 weeks to be over xoxo

MrsTtobe · 11/06/2020 11:30

@Leaf87 thank you sweetheart and thinking of you. I know at the minute every day must be dragging and you want this whole situation over but you have plenty of time so just look after yourself.

@msanne I usually ovulate early, 9dpo is when i usually get ewcm (don't track other than that) and my dd was conceived 8/9 dpo but pretty sure I ovulated a few days later this time as didn't get ewcm till then.
Ive had no specific pg symptoms. Just the usual ones that could have been AF on her way! Bad skin, awful headache, lots of unusual cm, really really hormonal/ easily irritated, my main one which made me think hmmm could I be as I had it last time was I had achey legs yesterday. Had this last time day before I did a test and don't generally get achey legs when AF due. X

MrsTtobe · 11/06/2020 11:32

P.s @msanne the kids will be fine for 10 mins 😬 snacks and netflix are a winner. 🤣just get your oh to be quick. 🙈🤣
You deserve a rest. You're not far from 2ww now unless you're already in it and have already ovulated. 😊 x

msanne · 11/06/2020 12:11

@MrsTTobe - hahaha yes! going to be on calls until 4pm so will have to undertake mission impossible after this time!!

Let us know what hubby says/does when you tell him the great news!

xoxo

Chicken123 · 11/06/2020 15:21

Hope you don’t mind me joining.
I’ve been experiencing my first miscarriage for the past 5 days, after my first pregnancy.
I’ve been absolutely heartbroken, but I did a test this morning with my first wee and it looked completely negative.
We initially said that we would try straight away, but have now decided to wait until the end of the year.
I’ve accepted that it just wasn’t meant to be this time, but reminded by family and friends with babies every single day and its been hurting so much...especially with the constant reminder that it’s gone every time I use the toilet.

I guess I just wanted to write it down to strangers because it relieves me from how I’m currently feeling I guess x

msanne · 11/06/2020 16:36

@Chicken123 so sorry for your loss. How far along were you? It isn't easy at any time when these things happen - and it doesn't feel like it could happen to you - until it does.

I was devastated for the DD we lost but I can honestly say that hand on heart that you do move on (never forget). A saying that sticks with me is that "you can't pour from an empty cup". Be kind to yourself, these things happen far more often than we know, and when the time is right for you - you will get your rainbow baby.

Sending you lots of love xoxo

Leaf87 · 11/06/2020 18:09

@Chicken123 I am so very sorry that you have had to go through this. It is very difficult as @msanne says it does not go away but it does get easier. Writing it down and sharing your experience with other people does help. We start as strangers but in all honesty these women have helped me work through most of my emotions. I missed carried at 11.5 weeks at the end of march and am still experiencing complications now time definitely helps. You and other half will know when the time is right for you.
Sending big love Flowers

MrsTtobe · 12/06/2020 08:18

Morning girls, hope you're all ok. I blurted it out to oh yesterday as soon as he walked in the door from work. We both just cried then laughed then cried again. Then he went out and brought a pk of 2 tests so I did another 2. One about 6pm and one before bed. Both bfp, we just started at them and cried some more. 🙈
Thank you so much to you ladies. I often imagine what the people look like behind these funny names. What their personalities are like, what their homes look like etc. 🤣 But I do know you have become my friends and you've made me feel so much better. I came to this thread at the worse and most saddest time of my life and there are no words to tell you all how much your words have helped. So thank you and I will be staying on here, I want to be around to see you all get your bfp! ❤

@Chicken123 I'm so sorry for your loss. This is the best place to be. You are not alone. Everything you are feeling and physically going through, we understand, we've all been through it and like I think @msanne said you will never forget but time will heal. There was a time I thought I would be sad forever but each day you will get a little stronger. Lots of love to you x

Frankincense88 · 12/06/2020 08:41

@MrsTtobe that is soooo lovely to hear, I'm so pleased for you! Fingers crossed this month is the month some of us can join the BFP club! Xxx

@chicken123 so sorry to hear about your loss. Like @MrsTtobe says, all of us here have gone through it so can empathise completely. I too struggled to come to terms with whether I'd ever feel joy again but the pain does ease over time. You just need to allow yourself to be sad and take each day as it comes. Xxx

Chicken123 · 12/06/2020 10:02

@msanne @Leaf87 @MrsTtobe @Frankincense88
Thank you so much for your replies. The past couple of days have been easier and I’ve fully accepted what has been happening.
I know how common MC were but as a woman you never think it’ll happen to you and you’d be one of the statistics.
I was super early, only made it to 5+1 when it happened but no matter how far along you are, you still create a bond from the start.
I’m sorry to hear of all of your experiences. This site is great for speaking to women who have gone through or going through what we individually are.
It’ll be our time one day, and when it is, it’ll be so magical x

Bells993 · 12/06/2020 11:05

@MrsTtobe ahhhh such lovely news! Can’t wait for your updates!

@Chicken123 it’s so common, I couldn’t believe it when I found out the odds. I think from going through it myself and these stories on this thread alone all I can say is it takes time, but time does heal. Let your body do what it needs too, make sure you get a negative test before you start trying again and just listen to your body. It’s taken me 9 weeks nearly to have a proper AF and now I feel so much more comfortable trying again. I thought I was pregnant 4 weeks later (the start of this thread) and I just set myself up for disappointment. Hopefully being only 5 weeks your hormones come down super quick for you and you can start the journey again! @MrsTtobe is all the proof you need it can happen quickly.
How long were you trying for before?

Started my Clearblue ovulation tests this morning so will see what happens over the next 10 days I think I’m usually a day 18ish for ovulating xxx

@Chicken123 I’m so sorry, I realised you said you wanted to wait now. I read the post the other day and just replied today trying to give my support haha! What a donkey!

OP posts:
Chicken123 · 12/06/2020 11:30

@Bells993
I’ve done a few tests and they’re all basically negative. The lines are barely visible to the naked eye.
I’ve woken up and feeling much better. Still sad and like you say, I don’t think you ever forget but I’m looking forward to just being intimate with my fiancée again and just feel “normal” and then try later on in the year.
We weren’t trying, it just happened but it’s made us realise that we do want to desperately be parents. Our plan was to wait a couple of years and then start trying but I think this experience was meant to happen and we will get our baby one day🥰 x

Bells993 · 13/06/2020 07:32

Posted this on a new thread incase you girls have any advice with it please @Frankincense88 @MrsTtobe @msanneeveryone

First month using the Clearblue Opk, looking for some advice please. This is my first cycle after MMC I’ve already had 1 DC both pregnancy’s I ovulated around the 18th I’d each month and I normally have 33 day cycles.

I started testing yesterday at CD10 and had a negative then this morning I’ve got a flashing face for high fertility. Any ideas if only have one test day before can affect the results. I know the MC could of messed up my cycles but I never thought everything would go shorter! I’m not going to take it as gospel and still DTD every two days but any ideas/advice would be great (my cheap ones from amazon with premom say low but they were SO wrong with my MC pregnancy)
Thank you

OP posts:
Frankincense88 · 13/06/2020 08:01

@Bells993 yeah so I had this last cycle, Basically the first day you test will always be low fertility because it's syncing with your hormones. I then had like 8 days of high fertility flashing smiley and until you reach your peak it will always be a flashing smiley, even if you dip it in water. You're only meant to test once a day with FMU so don't try and do multiple because it's a waste. Does that make sense? Xx

Bells993 · 13/06/2020 08:27

@Frankincense88 oh I see! I didn’t realise that haha, so I’ll just keep testing now every morning untill I get the solid face!
Thanks so much xxx

OP posts:
Frankincense88 · 13/06/2020 08:46

@bells993 yep just keep going until it's a solid face! I'm starting my testing tomorrow as it'll be CD8! I usually ovulate around day 18 so will be DTD as much as possible! xx

Bells993 · 16/06/2020 07:48

Hey Girls @Frankincense88 @Leaf87 @msanne

How’s everyone getting on?
@MrsTtobe how are you feeling?

Xxxx

Frankincense88 · 16/06/2020 07:52

@Bells993 Morning lovely! How're you? CD10 here so heading into FW. Back at work full time and it's so intense I was in bed at half 8 last night!! Hopefully a chilled one this weekend with lots of DTD 😂

@mrsttobe hope all is well with you - I've been sending positive thoughts your way! Xx

MrsTtobe · 16/06/2020 08:05

Morning all,
Yes im ok thank you @Bells993 not really feeling much different. Really tired but ive got a 2 yr old that doesn't sleep so tired is just every day life anyway. 😂 I've got major toilet anxiety! I still feel 'wet' all the time and keep running to the loo to check it's not blood. 😔 A time when I can actually relax a little feels so far away.

How are you all and where are you all in your cycles now? Xxx

msanne · 16/06/2020 09:53

Hi @Bells993. I'm into the TWW now (finally)! I got my static smiley on Saturday :) didn't dtd too many times as was already so exhausted so am just going to have to wait and see now.

I've got the week off this week, so work stress has been replaced by homeschooling stress. MIght venture out on a play date later on today if the sun holds out.

@Frankincense88
xoxo - ahhh weekend isn't far away. Get lots of rest for the upcoming marathon! I was so out sync, I found it exhausting when it shouldn't be!

@Bells993 - how are you hun?

@MrsTtobe - each day forward is one day closer to the end goal. You've got this!

Sending you all lots of love xoxo

Bells993 · 16/06/2020 10:01

I’m good thank you girls! CD 15, not static yet still flashy. Been DTD every other day untill now. Predicted day is the weekend so I’ll ramp it up Thursday/Friday haha!

@Frankincense88 I think we will end up testing around the same time! I have long cycles so I think I’ll test around the 2nd week or July unless AF comes before!

@msanne ekkk well done! Well deserved break now, what date will you do your first test roughly? Can’t wait to hear some news!

Time is going SO fast, I can’t believe it’s June! We started trying December and I look back and think where the hell did that time go! @MrsTtobe time I bet is going so slow for you now. I was saying to my partner last night, if we do get pregnant that 3 month wait is going to be so so long! So exciting, just try and stay positive! You’ve had a baby before same as me so we know we can do it!

Xxx
