New thread - hopefully you'll be able to load it better now Ready

no way are you too old - and I think shoes are something you can do 'ironically' anyway - not that you need to with those

OP posts:
Ready · 15/09/2007 16:25

I am hoping that any bump I may have next year will fit nicely underneath Pah. Who am I kidding?

Ready · 15/09/2007 16:28

Crossed posts, clearly I didn't mean my bump fitting underneath shoes

Glad you think I am still young enough for those dolly shoes. I think they are cute!

I am going through a bit of a hat phase... I have a deep plum baker boy, and need to find a matching scarf. Also, like this hat - What d'ya reckon?

Also... I really fancy a cape type thing for the winter months. Anyone seen one in the shops? A friend of mine went to Dubai and came back with one. But I can't find one here.

nomoremagnolia · 15/09/2007 16:38

I wouldn't fit a bump under a coast dress - I struggle to fit just me in most days

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 15/09/2007 16:45

scroll to outfit no 11 on here
Is this what you mean by cape - or do you mean more of a coat?

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 15/09/2007 16:49

and to fill in the question I haven't answered - Yes I think it is ok to wear white to a wedding as long as it's not all white/too wedding dress like. Bold black and white is fine. And yes - I like the hat, I like hats generally - it's the one thing that I can wear that my sis can't

OOOOH! Nomore You are a star!!! That is exactly what I mean!! It's not in the stores yet. Darn!! I bet it will be soooo expensive!!

kensgirl · 16/09/2007 11:38

Hi there!

Ooh, I like the shopping, Nomore and Ready!! I love the skirt and dress, and I like the cardi/shirt, but know that wouldn't suit me, I'm the wrong shape.

i shop at loads of different places, mostly high street though. I like coast for some wedding type stuff, but recently got 2 gorgeous dresses, one from Phase8 and one from Fenn Wright Manson. I like Oasis and Warehouse , and also have things from RiverIsland, Bay, Next, and jeans from everywhere from Newlook to Diesel. I bet I sound really thrown together now , I don't always look as though I have got dressed in the dark, honestly!

Sorry to hear you had a mad moment, Nomore, it is so hard when everyone else seems to get pregnant so easily. It makes me feel as though I am completely useless at something that should just happen.. hugs to you.

Gilly, the holiday sounds great! I looked in to Malaria tablets this year, for the Dom Rep, but in the end I didn't take them, as the chance of getting malaria there was smaller than the risk of side effects from the tablets. Maybe you could get proffessional advice on the safest for the area you are visiting from someone other then your GP. I would like to think that any reasonable GP would think it was sensible to take malaria precautions and not hold it against you should you need a referral, in reference to the time you have been ttc. I know what you mean about needing to carry on with your plans and not putting you life on hold, just go and have a good time. I'm not sure if that is all any use to you, but hope it helps you make up your mind .

Hope everyone else is OK. I'm going to see if I can learn how to do links so I can join in the shopping spree...

Ready · 16/09/2007 11:56

Kensgirl - All those shops are in my radar, so if you sound thrown together (which you don't!) then I am too (which I am not) -- links are easy!! That's what I wanted, everyone to share their must-haves too.

Come on girls - don't be shy!! My broadband problem seems to have fixed itself (touch wood) so you are all stuck with me for another week, at least

evergrounded · 16/09/2007 12:46

Hi everyone!

Not posted for a while, as I've been trying to focus on other things- going back to school, getting to grips with teaching my new classes this year...but I finally cracked! Really though I was pg this month, as my period was a whole week late, which is really unusual for me. Devastated when I starting spotting yesterday, and by today it is in full flow! (sorry if tmi) Evil Auntie Flo!!

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar thing to me- since I started ttc, my periods have started arriving 5-6 days late, on CD 35 or 36- I usually start my period on CD 29 or 30. I have a theory (probably silly) that maybe I am having 'chemical pregnancies' or that my body is almost managing to conceive, but then not managing to hold onto it, and so these late periods are almost like very early misscarriages? What do people think? Am I barking up the wrong tree here? I just cant explain why my periods keep arriving so late since I started ttc? Am trying to keep positive- this is month 9 of ttc, and I know some people have been trying for much longer. Any thoughts gratefully received!!

nomoremagnolia · 16/09/2007 15:21

Were your 28 day cycles on the pill evergrounded? Mine took about 3 months to come back to 'normal' after coming off the pill and then they were a few days longer than before. I remember that before I went on the pill my cycles were a day or so short of four weeks (26-7 days) but after I came off the pill they went to 29-30 days. Either that or it could be that you ov later in your cycle? The time from ov to af is usually regular (between 10 and 14 days is normal, but the same each month for each person IYKWIM) - but the time before ov can be longer than 14 days. Otherwise (don't get yourself worried at this stage but..) it could be a symptom of some sort of problem. I doubt it is a chemical pg /early m/c as it is happening every month. I think your cycle is normal but slightly longer. Have you tried temping or ov tests to see when/if you ov?

Hi all (((flosspot waves slightly manically. It is Monday after all )))

nomoremagnolia · 17/09/2007 09:29

Hiya Flosspot MN HQ should have sent you an email from me to the email address you registered on MN with. Then you can reply to me or just go and find me on FB (as you'll know my real name from the email)
Did you have a nicce weekend away?

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 17/09/2007 11:41

Hello all, sorry, busy weekend so no opportunity - back at work again now!

AF arrived Sat - not surprised though.

I like East, particularly in the sales. However, when not at work I am normally in cheap jeans and a tshirt as you don't know what's going to happen to them next. Just think what you've all got to look forward to - yoghurt, juice, breakfast, PVA, paint - and that was all before 10am on Sat!

I yr on from mc and still no luck, mainly due to dh's non-compliance - he's still wobbly about the panic about mp potentially coming back scare (although, at the time, he didn't really know much about this)

Anyway, need some seduction ideas this month - ?

DS has a name that can be shortened. Sometimes hear otherpeople shortening it - but he's always called full name by us.

DH also has a name that can be shortened, but my father has shortened version - so dh is definitely full version (he introduced himself to me with that name luckily) and friends are picked up on use of shortened version due to confusion potential with father-in-law. DH now quite often gets called ds's name, and lots of people call ds by dh's name (he already has dh's name as 2nd name)

flosspot · 17/09/2007 13:25

Great weekend nomore. Will see if I can get this sorted. If not will need to start again!!!

nomoremagnolia · 17/09/2007 14:07

Have CAT-ed you again flosspot, hopefully it'll work this time!

Can I just say that Coast sizes are smaller than other sizes. Just got a lovely dress in the sale, but had to buy 18 (gulp)

flosspot · 17/09/2007 16:13

Size 18, not 18 dresses- am not that big!

kensgirl · 17/09/2007 18:10

Sorry, but nothing to do with the lovely shopping...... cd 1. Again. This will be 9 months since my mc, and the start of my 12th cycle, and I feel unbelievably crap. I'm starting to think I'm just fooling myself that I will ever be a mum, and I've got no idea why I just keep coming back for more.

Thanks for the tips on the links, ladies. hope you are all having a more positive start to the week than me.

flosspot · 17/09/2007 19:18

Kensgirl- I so know how you are feeling, though it's only been three months and four cycles since our mc. We have been trying for nearly two years, and have seen all our friends, overweight and underweight, fertile and infertile, old and youg, conceive in that time. Even people who didn't really want babies. Some days I just want to end it all. But I don't, because I have DH and MN, and a ridiculous determination to succeed.

Thinking of you and sending you big hugs.

nomoremagnolia · 17/09/2007 21:35

Hi kensgirl and flosspot big hugs to you both, don't give up I know how you feel about feeling you will never be a Mum and wondering why every month you put yourself through it all again See my post of 11/9 - been there, done that, got the t-shirt...
But we have got each other - which helps
