Ah but there is always plenty to find online to spend my money on !.

Well you never know X. I don't remember having any early symptoms with my pgs. Sounds like a good plan. I think clomid messes up the ov signs. I'm finding it very hard to tell from temps, CM or sticks ! For all I know, I'm not ov since they are not doing day 21 tests each month.

xserialshopper · 23/05/2008 13:07

Gem! Are you on Clomid as well?

gem2mum · 23/05/2008 13:25

Yes, this is my third cycle of 50mg. If nothing happens this cycle then I get another scan and day 21 test on the fourth cycle and then thats it until I finish the course on the sixth cycle. Consultant seemed to think that if it was going to work then it would work within the first three cycles....

xserialshopper · 23/05/2008 14:03

Well, I'm still having a big THINK about my 2nd round of clomid. I'll decide on sunday what I'm going to do.

Heron are you ok babes?

Well, I'm off to ready my Toni W book and see if she mentions saw palmetto. xxx

Heron23 · 23/05/2008 17:38

hi juicy, sorry for the confusion ,i do have 2 names, when i am at work it is ohjoy, at home, it is heron. the thing is, i have forgotten my password for heron username.. so i just created a new one for use at work.

welcome hopefor3!

hi gem, thanks my DS has just turned 4, so the age gap will be quite big!
hope your DD gets better soon. must be quite hard for your DD as the weather is quite humid and hot.

i hope my BFP luck rubs off on all of you

fingers crossed for you X! keep us all informed!

minmooch · 23/05/2008 19:39

Hi Ladies!

Decided to have a break for a few weeks as I felt I was becoming obsessed. DH had semen test and told 5% normal sperm. Felt depressed but fertility clinic said 5% of 585 million is still quite alot - especially as we only need the one!

On the 2ww (not sure how my cycle may be affected this month because of early mc last month). Off to Spain on Sunday for a weeks rest - kids are off to Florida with their dad so DH and I can spend some "quality time" together .

Feel remarkably relaxed and quite positive (don't know why). Have sent mine and dh hair off to be analysed to see if we are deficient in certain minerals. If you are interested look at the Foresight website. Friends of mine conceived after following their programme after a fair few mc and both over 40. In for a penny in for a pound - now going to try conventional and alternative therapies!

Fingers crossed for all those with BFPs and kisses and hugs for all of us still hoping for them. xx

Heron23 · 23/05/2008 19:43

hi minmooch, enjoy your holiday in spain. i am most jealous!

about alternative therapies, have you considered acupuncture? i started having it this month and i got BFP! now i am not sure if i would have got BFP anyway...

minmooch · 23/05/2008 20:15

Heron - no I haven't tried it yet! I think I will when I get back from holiday. Might as well do everything.

Will catch up with you all in a week when hopefully there will be a few more bfps on here.

gem2mum · 23/05/2008 22:26

Happy hols Minmooch and hair thing sounds interesting. Keep us updated.

Heron, so apart from acupuncture what else did you do this month do you think?

Heron23 · 23/05/2008 22:28

hi gem, nothing at all! i was more relaxed that's for sure!

now that i have my BFP, i started reading about pregnancies in older women...and read that women over 40 have 50% chance of miscarriage! i know i should stop reading these kind of articles on the web!!!!!!!

cece · 23/05/2008 22:42

Just a quick hello and bye. I am also away next week. Nothing as exotic as Spain. Rain forecast for Cornwall but fingers crossed it will brighten up mid week

gem2mum · 23/05/2008 22:53

Dont worry Heron, I was fine with DD at 42 and 50% sounds way too high to me.

Cornwall is lovely cece, have fun

Heron23 · 24/05/2008 18:47

hi gem, i am not going to read those articles anymore!

you're a great example of success at 42!

gem2mum · 24/05/2008 20:28

Thats right Heron. The power of positive thought

Juicylucytoo · 25/05/2008 14:12

That'll teach me to pay attention

As for the mc rates. I agree. Sounds too high and STOP READING THAT STUFF!!!

You can't stop it from happening, so best to concentrate on eating well and getting lots of rest in preparation for the rest of the pg.

coming your way. x

coggy · 25/05/2008 15:25

Hey Juicy!!!!

How are you??

Juicylucytoo · 25/05/2008 16:16

Coggy, me old luv, I'm fine and dandy. Sleep deprived and TTC again, but other than that not too bad. How are you??

Heron23 · 26/05/2008 09:45

hi juicy, coggy, this weather is just crap!!!
how is the weather where you are?

thanks for the positive vibes!

Nursejo · 26/05/2008 09:58

I am 43 (and will be 44 in November)I had DS at age 31yrs,DD1 at 39yrs nearly 40,and DD2 at 42 yrs.I had a MC in between DD1 &DD2. It then took me 7 months to conceive again,as periods and hormones "up the creek".Keep trying,as like you say our egg quantity has reduced, and quality etc. but law of averages you will eventually "hit the jackpot" in time. When I used to go on the Bounty site, the Mums TTC had lots of tips, such as Cough Mixture has an ingredient which helps Fertility etc.Good Luck.

vesela · 26/05/2008 10:54

Hello from me, too. I conceived DD when 38, after trying for a year. She's now 14 months old, I'm 40 and we've just started trying again. My periods came back when she was 9 months old, but I'm (reluctantly) weaning in order to get all my ducks in a row.

Anyone else feel as if it's too early to start with #2 but they have no choice? (probably lots of people, if I read back through the thread).
It still feels too early to be diverting attention away from DD (and love, because that's what it feels as if it would be, although I know it would really be a doubling of the love, not a halving).

Heron23 · 26/05/2008 11:28

hi vesela, you're right, you will be doubling the love! and fact is, time is of the essence... so good luck and go for it!

evenhope · 26/05/2008 11:34

BTW the 50% m/c rate is after 45, not 40

I had 2 m/c and a baby all at the age of 43 (busy year)

vesela · 26/05/2008 14:09

Thanks, heron - go for it is what I need to hear.

Heron23 · 26/05/2008 15:16

your welcome vesela

my DS has just turned 4 and am just newly pregnant. i still worry that DS will lose out by having to share me...however, he has told me in no uncertain terms that he wants a baby brother !

Juicylucytoo · 26/05/2008 16:39

What is it with Bank Holidays and crap weather?!

Well nothing else for it, but to mn all day then

Day 26 for me and no sign of AF, but then again this cycle could be 29 / 30 / 33... who knows

Welcome vesala. The more over 40's we have, the more BFP's. Well that's my thinking
