Hi there, can't wait to hear if it's a bfp Heron. Then you will be able to graduate.
We are day five now, tum tee tum! Not much happening!
I must re-read this thread, I think I missed quite a few posts amidst that last flurry.

Heron23 · 24/04/2008 18:42

hi rowing, AF is still not here. one minute i am confident the next minute, i think, it will be just my luck that this month (due to obsessing about getting pregnant) AF is delayed.

So, dy5 for you, can't remember, are you using clearblue fertility monitor?

have a good night, DS is nearly ready to go to bed (well, after book reading, kiss and hugs)

rowingboat · 24/04/2008 19:43

Hi Heron, no I'm just using Ebay cheapie OPKs and looking for fertile CM. I also use fertility friend, just to chart cm and cycle day, so I know where I am kind of thing.
I did try temping, but the thermometer that is recommended for temping takes forevveeeeeeeerrrr to actually take a reading. It's like, you think 'oh it must have timed out and switched off' and then you look and it still hasn't got a reading, then you have to start again. What a nightmare! My DS is meanwhile jumping up and down on my chest and demanding cereal. And then the rest of the time I remembered 'oh yeah I was supposed to do a temp before I got up, as I sit down for my breakfast. Then it's too late! Arrrgh!
Mind you, I might try again, just in case I am missing my ovulation day. OPKs do work for me though, I do get a line etc... and bd around that time.
I bet you wished you hadn't asked now.
My DS is still up and refusing to tidy his toys (everywhere).

hi rowing, i know just what you mean about those thermometers taking forever. i have one, used it a few times and never bothered again. i know it is not as accurate but i use those ear digital thermometers. it is only up to 1 decimal place but it shows when my temp spikes up. also, it can be use for general fevers - esp for DS.

DS really stretched my patience to the limit this evening. it took forever to put him to bed. he had a million and one questions. i just wanted him to go to bed so i can have my "me time" before DH gets home.

anyway, talk later.

I had a very feint bfp yesterday morning and slightly darker this morning! Trying to keep calm as have had 2 recent mc's. Have 2 dc aged 12 and 10 and trying with DH #2 for a dc together. Is it possible to enjoy a pregnancy after suffering miscarriages?

gem2mum · 24/04/2008 20:59

mmmm, "me time". Its hard to get enough of that isn't it! As soon as I get dd off to bed I'm having to take ds out for a driving lesson, trying to pretend not to be horrified as drifts into a roundabout .
Me day 7 so just waiting for the action to start next week. I laughed at your temp description rowing! I'm always knee deep in nappy changing before I remember that I was supposed to have taken temp before I jumped out of bed.

Heron, its getting very exciting waiting for your will it, wont it!

minmooch · 24/04/2008 21:04

Am I being totally unreasonable? Had a big row with DH on Sunday afternoon and still feeling raw about a very unkind comment he made. I have had 2 mcs and DH and I have got an appointment with fertility clinic. I have had blood tests done (no problems shown) and DH is due to have his sperm tested on Wednesday.

Had a very feint bfp yesterday, stronger today.

I don't want to tell DH until after his test on Wednesday. Part of this is because of 2 mcs and I don't feel I can get excited yet. The bigger part however is because I am cross with him I want him to go through at least one humiliating experience in this ttc lark! Have I gone completely mad or am I allowed to enjoy his minor discomfort?

gem2mum · 24/04/2008 21:05

Wow, Minmooch thats fantastic! I dont suppose anyone relaxes after having experienced mc's, at least for the first trimester, I suppose. I dont think I will be able to, should I ever get another bfp. Fingers crossed for you.

gem2mum · 24/04/2008 21:15

Minmooch,I had to smile at that but No I dont think its unreasonable. They cant really appreciate exactly how it is for us women and they do seem to sail through it all fairly untouched. I'm impressed though, that you could keep it from him that long. I'd be rubbish at keeping that secret! Mind you, my dp was actually pleased to do the test so that took the fun out of that!

minmooch · 24/04/2008 21:25

I don't know if I will be able to keep it a secret. But what I do know for sure is that if I tell him about BFP he will definitely cancel his appointment - he thinks its a fairly messy business and highly embarrassing! I have tried to explain how messy and embarrassing giving birth and miscarrying is and that one sperm test is nothing.

At least I am getting a giggle out of it which is stopping me from panicking about another mc! :0

xserialshopper · 24/04/2008 21:34

CONGRATULATIONS MINMOOCH. Sincerely hope that your little bean sticks.

gem2mum · 24/04/2008 21:34

Quite right! Anyway, he should do it just to get the ball rolling (so to speak!). At least its out the way then.

Sorry. I have been lurking, not posting as there is nothing happening and I am very down about it. Will be back and positive in no time x

roquefortlover · 24/04/2008 22:41

hi all and thanks for asking after us xserialshopper! Not much happening here on the ttc front although madly busy with evertyhing else so have been lurking too. Am on CD21 of a29ish day cycle, OV'd around CD13 and did BD on the right days I think. However for some reason I feel pretty sure that this is NOT the month, feeling crampy already and the usual sore boobs. Ah well. At least I will keep away from the early testing! Not had time to read everything so sorry to miss people out but, heron, it is looking exciting for you!! Fingers crossed.

undervalued, sorry you are feeling miserable - MN is here if you want to mona and hope you feel happier soon.

Oh yes, stats wise I am 40 (41 in the summer!) and on cycle 2 ttc number 4.

Or even if you want to moan - rubbish typist me !

rowingboat · 24/04/2008 23:14

Minmooch that's great news. If it were me, I would enjoy thinking about him going for the test for a few hours. You know, visualise him having to sit in a horrid booth with a nurse knocking on the door saying 'are you finished yet?' and perhaps the door flying open because he forgot to lock it. Then I would just tell him straight away, but also that I was still upset about what he said during the row.
The thing is, you would almost certainly have to tell him that you knew before he had the test and it might spoil the nice 'having a baby' glow over your relationship.
I don't know if this works, but I have seen reports that taking a quarter of an aspirin tablet every day might help reduce ms risk. You probably know all this though.
Heron, I must try that ear thermometer, is it quite fast? I don't know why I bother sometimes, but must do everything I can to feel that I am in control of this madness.

Heron23 · 25/04/2008 09:31

morning all, got a faint positive yesterday. but AF came this morning went a vengeance. so heavy, lots of clots and cramping.

so off to bed now with painkillers. i am just so so so disappointed. i knew that early testing can only lead to this kind of heartache. it just was not meant to be this month. even with lots of bd and positive ov.

also temp was up until this morning.

i should not have tested at all, until AF is 7 days late. apparently about 50% of very early pregnancies at not viable and end up as heavy period. our mothers would not have known as they did not have access to these early HPTs.

anyway, will stop now. focus on DS and DH.

to start clomid 50mg tomorrow. not sure how i feel about it. cant believe this is only our 2nd cycle ttc. feels like i have been doing this forever.

yesterday i was at my friend's house and she has a newborn (her 3rd) and my DS just loves this baby and always giveshim a kiss. i am trying so hard to give my DS a sibling. he wants a brother (of course). but what if i can't?

xserialshopper · 25/04/2008 09:41

oh Heron

Nancy66 · 25/04/2008 09:59

hi Heron

Sorry about your news. You're right re. the early testing but so hard not to give into temptatation.

If this is only your second cycle ttc why are you moving to Clomid already?

Heron23 · 25/04/2008 11:10

hi nancy, this is what my DH said. he cant understand why i am taking clomid as i ovulate (had dy21 test done). i have to agree with him. i do have a prescription for clomid. i am thinking of not taking it.

all i know about clomid is that it pushes an egg out. so since i ovulate, then what else would clomid do?

does anyone know?
