Hi everyone! Good luck bambi! I hope there are a couple of goodies in there at least - could be triplets!
We are now on day 15 and I'm fed-up and being really grouchy with DS. Poor old thing! I seem to react quite badly to taking big doses of herbal remedies - the agnus castus made me feel depressed and the EPO is making me quite irritable (or is that just me?).
We only managed to BD days 12 and 13, so I'm not feeling very positive. Mind you, I seldom feel very positive.
So it's the 2WW for me. Think I will try not to think about it too much, but I'm excited to hear about Bambi's day tomorrow.
I always feel a bit sorry for people with birthdays very close to Christmas. I know people who had their birthday and Christmas pressies 'lumped together' for convenience.

ohjoy · 07/04/2008 08:07

morning rowingboat! dy12 for me today.
so you have ov'ed already? are you using ov sticks? monitor? BD on dy12 and 13 is not bad! the 2ww is the killer wait!
i would love a christmas baby! i promise to make sure that there are christmas pressie not lumped in with birthday pressie though!

Giggly, how long are your cycles normally?

duchesse · 07/04/2008 10:29

GPs down here in Devon still stuck in the pat on the head "don't worry your pretty little head relax and it'll happen" 1950s.

cece · 07/04/2008 10:33

Morning all!

I am currently on 2WW. Used OV sticks last weeks and got a ositive on Thrsday - CD 19. Managed to BD on Thurs and Fri. Prior to that every over day this month. Had a couple of nights off now as I am exhausted

Must be my age! LOL

ohjoy · 07/04/2008 10:47

Cece, you're doing well! BD every other day and right on ov days as well.

i am on dy12, expecting ov on dy15, start BD last week. fingers crossed!

Blessed2 · 07/04/2008 11:04

cece how do you do it - not literally of course I would be absolutely shattered!

rowingboat · 07/04/2008 11:58

me too! We aren't that great at the bding - it doesn't help that I work three nights and a Sunday and the nights I am home, DP goes to athletics training.
Duchesse, can you try a different GP within the same practice or travelling to another surgery where they might refer you?
I am a bit dim about this type of thing, as I have been attending the same surgery for years, but having said that I don't think I have seen the same doctor twice.
Ohjoy, I did use an OP stick on day 14 and it was positivish: the bottom line was lighter than the top. I think I ovulate at night on day 14, judging by the cramping. Day 15 would probably be a good day for us to bd, but I was at work. Doh!

Heron23 · 07/04/2008 18:13

hi all, will make DH a cup of coffee about half hour before BD. caffeine helps the little guys swim further!

bambilocket · 07/04/2008 19:57

Hello ladies, bit groggy after general anaes. but got 10 eggs - CLUCK CLUCK - now have to wait til tomorrow to see if they fertilize - DP did the cup off coffee trick so lets hope they don't swim so fast they fly out of the petri dish! BDing!!! haven't done that for years!

roquefortlover · 07/04/2008 21:05

That sounds really positive Bambi, fingers crossed!

giggly · 07/04/2008 23:16

Good luck Bambi and all in 2ww fingers crossed. I dont know about the caffeine link, does it need to be coffee? my dh drinks coke by the bucketfull each night so maybe my problem is that the little uns are swimming out to sea.
Ohjoy up until we started ttc in Dec 07 my cycles were around 28-30 absolute bog standard for the last 25 years, so now that I need them to be regular of course they have had other plans.
Never thought I would say it on here but AF has finally arrived so at least we can start to plan for bd this month. I would love to think we could try every other night, but we are far to grumpy for that. I will probably relent and use ov sticks again, although have not ordered any cheaper from e bay as I planned, but at least I will get my Boots points.
Happy waiting ladies.

lilibet · 08/04/2008 09:34

10 EGGS - WOOPDEEDOO!!

Sorry for capitals - not shouting!

rowingboat · 08/04/2008 09:46

That's great new Bambi! You are bound to have some good'uns in there.
How many do they implant and do you have any say in the matter?
Caffeine, didn't know that, my DP is an insomniac, but he does drink copious amounts of tea, so must be getting some caffeine. I don't know if he would find it an aphrodisiac if I told him to drink coffee then bd half and hour later. He would probably run out of the house half an hour later.

roquefortlover · 08/04/2008 11:21

Rowingboat, I think my dh would be the same!!

rowingboat · 08/04/2008 17:33

I was just thinking, if he ran out of the house, I could always chase after him in my underwear, just to give the neighbours a laugh! Then he would book into a B&B!

Heron23 · 08/04/2008 17:52

Lilibet, that's great news! when will the embryos be put back in?

lilibet · 09/04/2008 13:16

Heron - pay attention!!

It's bambi not me!!

ohjoy · 09/04/2008 13:58

OOPS! sorry lilibet! i completely misread your post

btw, i am also known as Heron

bambilocket · 09/04/2008 14:20

hey lilibet and ohjoy (aka Heron23), thanks so much for your enthusiasm! oooh, am going to get brave now and ask the clinic whether to let the embryo's go to day 5 - at that point they're called blastocysts and from what I can see online, if they get to that point the success rate is quite a lot better...hmmm it's worth asking but I hate to sound like I'm questioning/causing trouble. Still will do it anyway (btw they will put in 2, they can put in 3 for over 40's but not for me cos it's worked for me before and want to avoid multiples - it's a plot, I'd love twins...so long as it all went ok!)

Very lovely sunny day on the South Coast!

lilibet · 09/04/2008 15:07

When would they normally inplant? and if the sucess rate is higher at day 5 why wouldn't they do that anyway?

Can i tell you a story about a Vicar friend of mine who had immobile sperm? (bet you hear that line every day of the week!!)

They were going for this procedure but as I recall what they wanted to do was inplant a dozen eggs as chances were only a few would take but with the option of selective abortion if an unusally high number stuck. From a moral point of view they disagreed with that and scoured the country for someone who would just implant three eggs. Eventually they found someone and I'm sure you can guess what happened - the triplets are now 12!!

rowingboat · 09/04/2008 15:10

Bambi, is there a risk in waiting? It sounds like a must, if there aren't any risks.
At the amount of money you are paying, I would say, ask for whatever you want! If you want white candles and a cashmere throw go for it!
If you don't ask, you might wonder what if?
I'm so glad you are telling us all this, it's so exciting, and great information for us, if we don't conceive before the IVF (whenever that is)
Yes twins wouldn't that be fab! I have my fingers crossed for you.

gem2mum · 09/04/2008 16:12

HI all

Mind if I join you? Im 44 (and a half!) and have a ds of 18 years and dd of 21 months so had no problem conceiving at 42 but have been trying again since she was born and ended up having an mc at 12 weeks last sept. My cycle went into a complete spin after that which the consultant said was due to my age, not the miscarriage. She has given me Comid, which is supposed to encourage egg release and this is the first month. Apparantly, if it is going to work at all then it should happen within 3 months. Im at day 20 now so wonder if it will have worked this month?! Anyone else had any experience of Clomid?

Juicylucytoo · 09/04/2008 18:22

Welcome Gem2mum!

Well we're just back from 2 days (and nights in Bournemouth. Managed to BD day 9 and 10 and that will probably be our lot for the next week , so not hopeful.

We shall see. Good luck Bambi - 10 eggs eh - very impressive

Juicylucytoo · 09/04/2008 18:23

Gem2mum -sorry meant to put - no experience of Clomid, but good luck
