Hello- We've moved to a new thread, and this is it!

Roll call, again:
flosspot CD4, 4th cycle, mc June ttc#1
nomore CD15 2nd cycle (21 total!) ttc #1
nh101 CD3 1st cycle, MC March

Well done for staying calm.

Yes- laproscopy etc as soon as I can have it- which won't be until November at the earliest. Wish I could just have it now!

Do you do a test every time before you start clomid? Even if AF has arrived?

flosspot · 10/09/2007 13:33

Yes I do- always a hope at the back of my mind that I am one of those women who have af even when pg. How sad a I?

OP posts:
lulu1414 · 10/09/2007 14:14

Not sad at all- I do the same thing! I was asking as I always do a test even in the midst of AF, but it is ALWAYS negative, so this time I didn't do one. Actually, that is not entirely true- I did one on CD29 as everyother time I had spotting or AF by then. It was BFN but AF didn't arrive until CD33. I'm sure I'm in the clear... but I wonder if I should have done another one. I tell you, I worry about worry!

I started on the clomid again yesterday.

nh101 · 10/09/2007 17:28

Hello everyone. I had a spike in temp this morning (CD15) so hope I OV'd yesterday. Trying to remember that having sex at the right time is only a small part of it but I am hopeful as we got lots of quality BDing in over the weekend. It is my due date two weeks tomorrow from my MC so would be nice to get a BFP then (but a BFN may make the day even harder). We shall see..

My pg best friend is in hospital at the mo, bleeding at 11 weeks. She has been bleeding since last Monday and they still won't scan her till tomorrow. Absolute pile of shite.

tigerschick · 10/09/2007 18:14

Hi ladies

nh101 - Hope you have been lucky this month, a spike sounds hopeful. Sorry to hear about your friend, that isn't something you'd wish on anyone, hope she has good news from the scan.

lulu - I also agree that the lack of maternity benefits would make the job a difficult choice. I think you have made the right decision tho there may well be times when you aren't so certain, unless you get your BFP this month!

Floss - glad to hear you made it through what sounds like a difficult weekend. I can't imagine how hard it must be to see people due on or around your due date. Fingers crossed for you for this month.

I was supposed to phone for another prescription of provera today but forgot to take the number out with me (it's not my usual specialist as she is on holiday) and I didn't get home in time to call so will have to do it tomorrow.
I went to visit my best friend. (actually, she looked after dd while I sat for 2 hours at the garage waiting for my car to be MOTed ) Anyway, she was telling me that her and her DH can't decide whether to try for DC#3 or not, they thought they would so didn't use protection last month then her DH said he wasn't sure. She fell first cycle with her 2 DSs. I honestly wish her good luck and she is very supportive of me - she is one of 2 people in RL who know our situation. It would be nice if she does decide and we both fall soon as then my #2 and her #3 will be similar ages, like her ds2 and my dd.
Anyway - prattling now Take care and keep happy.

nh101 · 11/09/2007 10:20

I am confused! My temp went back down today (36.59 from 36.78) so maybe I haven't OV'd after all. I know Clomid can mess up your temps, but thought that was only at the beginning when you are on the medication. I suppose I will have to just keep on BDing and try not to get too bothered (although I felt shattered this morning after seeing the temp - I feel like I will never OV!)

I still haven't heard from my friend - her scan was at 8.30 this morning.

flosspot · 11/09/2007 18:05

Just started temping agin, though in the middle of a cycle. Charts used to be all over the shop with clomid, but hoping now that my cyle length has been dramatically reduced, it might be worth trying agin. Wait and see.

no help, really nh, sorry!

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 11/09/2007 19:24

at your friend's treatment nh101

I'm back to cd1 - so will start operation clomid attempt 3 tomorrow

nh101 · 12/09/2007 13:16

Hi flosspot and nomore! Sorry AF came nomore.

My temp went back up today so maybe I have OV'd.

My friend lost her baby. They have sent her away and told her to come back next week (don't know much about this as I had D&C) are they just expecting her to go through it all on her own? They said they don't think she'll need surgery. She was 11 and a half weeks (don't know how big the baby was though)

tigerschick · 12/09/2007 15:25

Hi all

nomore - sorry tp hear about your af. Good luck for this cycle.

nh101 - so sad about your friend. I don't know anything about the usual course of things but I hope she is getting all the support she should be. Figers crossed that you have oved, assuming you are able to DTD

Floss - hope the temping shows something up soon.

I'm in a bit of a quandry. I'm supposed to be going to get the next course of provera tomorrow but haven't been able to get hold of anyone on the phone yet. I don't know what will happen if I just turn up so will have to try again in the morning. Thing is, I don't think I am pg but I've had rather achy boobs and quite a lot of cm (sorry TMI) this last week. I don't want to risk taking progesterone if I am pg but don't know how long to wait before I decide that I'm not. Does that make sense? Any advice? Anyone?

Hope everyone is OK

nh101 · 12/09/2007 16:16

I took progesterone before starting Clomid and asked the doc whether it would harm a baby (I thought I may have been PG without being far enough long get BFP). He said it would do no harm, in fact it is what they give women who have had recurrent MCs when they get PG.

tigerschick · 12/09/2007 18:07

That's really odd, nh101, as I was told that it ws vital I did a HPT before I started taking the provera as it would cause me to have a period regarless of whether I was pg or not! Then I saw that Awen took progesterone and didn't have a period because she was pg but I didn't understand how that worked.

Hmmm! As it is not my specialist I have to speak to I may ask her, second opinion type of thing. I do have 1 HPT so I might just do that in the morning and then decide what to do.

scorpio1 · 12/09/2007 18:54

Hi Tigers long time no see!

TMI-what is your cm like? it goes very weird when im pg-very bright white, watery. really really wishing for you!

MamaMaiasaura · 12/09/2007 21:50

tigerschick - i took provera when pregnant Apparntly progesterone doesnt harm the baby - lots of reassurance from my consultant and can actually help pregnancy stick.

tigerschick · 13/09/2007 08:10

Well, apparently it is all academic as I've just got a BFN Gonna ring again this morning and hopefully speak to the other specialist and see what she suggests.
Scorpio - that is how I would describe my cm at the moment.
Awen - thanks, thought that was what I had read. Hope all is going well with you and your bean.

Hope everyone else is happy and well this morning.

ladylush · 13/09/2007 09:46

Ooh the three of you all on this thread! Very handy for me as I wanted to say hi to Tigerschick, Scorpio and Awen. Hello

Tigers - hope you get a bfp soon. Scorpio and Awen - hope all going well with the pregnancy. Less than 4 months left Awen - time flying

Apologies to everyone else for the hijack

MamaMaiasaura · 13/09/2007 11:10

Good to hear from you ladylush - hope you get your BFP soon too. Cant believe how time is flying, consultant reckons this one may be early like ds so best get all ready for xmas xx

Tigerschick - What CD are you? Could the CM be you oving later? I listed earlier in thread how my successful cycle went so anything can happen x

nh101 · 13/09/2007 16:41

Hi Tigers - sorry for BFN, I'm sure you'll get that BFP next month. Stay positive!

It makes sense that progesterone doesn't harm the baby because your body produces it naturally after you get PG, that is why temps stay up if you are PG. If you stop taking it and levels of progesterone drop, then it will bring on AF, but if you are PG, they should stay high naturally.

I am good today - temp was still up this morning but my CM hasn't gone dry and sticky which it is supposed to after OV. It is still really creamy. But I think I have OV'd. Now I just have to try to stop myself from testing (I don't have high hopes but I am going to try to wait until a week on Monday - day 29 of cycle. But I can never stay away from the sticks!)

tigerschick · 14/09/2007 07:59

Hi all
Thanks for the replies yesterday. Despite having the bfn I still have the same feelings that I may be pg. I spoke to dh (the specialist was no use) and we decided that I may as well take the provera anyway as it shouldn't make any difference if I am already pg.

Awen - I'm on CD37 now. The specialist told me to wait until CD35 and, if I had no period, start taking provera again. I know that the cm could be anything so am not getting my hopes up at all.

Ladylush + Scorpio - Hi, hope all is well with you.

nh101 - thanks for the info on progesterone. Hope your instincts prove to be right and you have oved. Fingers crossed.

Hope everyone is well and happy

flosspot · 14/09/2007 08:41

Hello all, esp. Awen- graduate we all envy! One week left to wait, though not really positive about this month. Not feeling positive about a lot of things in truth.

DH asked me last night when I was due to test agin...he never asks things like that. Why do you suppose he did?

OP posts:
tigerschick · 14/09/2007 09:13

Hi floss, I'd see it as a positive that your dh is asking. My dh never asks either and sometimes it makes me feel like he doesn't care. I prefer to think that he believes that I will tell him if there is anything I think he should know - but I'd still like him to take the lead and ask sometimes. Anyway, when are you due to test? Next Friday? Good luck

nh101 · 14/09/2007 10:26

Hi flosspot - I also think it's good that he is asking. Maybe he is excited? My DH doesn't get chance to ask cos I tell him. "My temp went up this morning" "Shag day today" "The earliest I can test is next Friday but I am going to try to wait till Monday".

What annoys me about DH is he knows we have to BD at least every other day when ttc, but he always lets me make the first move! Then I feel like I am treating him like a piece of meat or something. He always seems to enjoy it in the end though .

My temp stayed high this morning and fertilityfriend reckons I OV'd on Sunday even though my temp dipped on Tuesday. Day 14 and everything!

So I am 5dpo now according to the chart and intercourse timing is rated as "high cos we BD'd the day of OV and the day before. Here's hoping.

nh101 · 14/09/2007 10:28

Quick question, I got Clomid from the gynae who did my D&C after my miscarriage. I went to see him private cos my GP wasn't interested and just said my absent periods were "stress". It wasn't my usual GP.

Now my gynae has written to my usual GP (I assume to tell him I am on Clomid) and now my GP has written me a letter ordering me to go and see him! He says it is "nothing to be concerned about".

Does he just want to make sure I am OK on the Clomid cos I am not being monitored elsewhere?

tigerschick · 14/09/2007 12:22

I would think that he just wants to make sure you are OK. He may want to ask why you went private without seeing him - tho you did see another gp so there is nothing untoward, you weren't sneaking around behind his back My gp wanted to see me while I was pg just to make sure everything was OK and to reassure me that he was there if there was anything I wanted to check as the mw was only in clinic on Fridays. As it was dd came before I had a chance to see him!

flosspot · 14/09/2007 12:49

I am sure it's just routine nh- go and see the doctor.

LOL at your DH- have similar issue with mine. Despite plenty of warning, I always have to do all the work when bding. It's a sort of "you want it, you earn it" thing!!!!!
