Hi There -
AF has arrived today as expected.
Will start taking the clomid again tomorrow!

Tigerschick · 22/11/2007 15:04

Feeling really crap now.

I went for my scan today and my ovaries are just as polycystic as always, despite the increased dose of Clomid.
My specialist is having a meeting with the consultant tomorrow so she will ask him what to do next and will ring me, either tomorrow night or on Monday morning.

scorpio1 · 22/11/2007 15:43

Tigers that is shit, really and truly. What are they going to do for you? I hope they get back to you asap and save the worry.

makecakesnotwar · 22/11/2007 16:42

Hey all- just popping my head round to offer support, and a liberal sprinkling of baby dust. It has been a very long 13 weeks, but all well...

Oh, and hello to Awen, who must be very rotund now!!!

MamaMaiasaura · 22/11/2007 23:02

tigerschick sorry that scan went badly. Agree with Scorpio and hope that they get back to you soon rather than you waiting whole weekend. Sending hugs your way xxx

MamaMaiasaura · 22/11/2007 23:03

Hi makecakesnotwar.. rotund is a delicate way of putting it. I am now a weeble.

Kerri1983 · 23/11/2007 15:58

Hi everyone, I am after a little advice, I received my results from my day 21 bloods today, they told me that the level was 57. Not sure if that is good, bad or ugly! I did ask the nurse on the phone but she couldn't help me and suggested I call back Monday, as I am a little impatient I thought I would ask you ladies. Thanks and lots of bady dust to you all xxx

nomoremagnolia · 23/11/2007 16:15

57 is good - anything over 30 indicates ovulation

Kerri1983 · 23/11/2007 16:25

Thank you for helping me out!!! That has got my weekend off to a good start!!! x

Tigerschick · 23/11/2007 20:05

No word from the specialist today.
So I'm going to have to wait until Monday. TBH I didn't think that I would hear from her today.
DH and I were saying yesterday how lucky we are to have DD. It seems that I ov once in a blue moon so we were very lucky to 'catch' the right day. But also, we are starting to become pretty stressed about this whole process and are just really pleased to have DD already. If we were trying for DC1 I'd be a loon by now. I can't imagine how hard that must be.

Best of luck to everyone

AttilaTheMeerkat · 24/11/2007 15:21

Tigerschick,

Sorry to read that your ovaries are still as polycystic although if I am honest I am not totally surprised (have read this scenario before). Clomid does not work for everyone with PCO and it should be given to such women with a degree of caution.

Anyway I would ask the cons on Monday whether she thinks you are a suitable candidate for either injectible drugs or ovarian diathermy surgery. I would also try and arrange a meeting with the actual consultant.

Hi

I'm new to MN so may take me a while to get used to all the abbreviations.

I'm not ovulating, although been having regular periods and am just on my 1st cycle taking Clomid. Am worried though as usually my period lasts 5 days - but now taking clomid has only lasted 2 days and I haven't been able to speak to anyone who knows if this is normal or not? Can anyone help me?

I wish you all luck.

Hi reallyheartbroken - your name is so sad, hope you are OK.
I don't know about your exact situation but I take progesterone to induce periods so that I can take Clomid and they last 5 days at the most - before starting treatment, my periods, when I had them - which was hardly ever, would last anything up to 3 weeks. So it probably is the drugs that are affecting us.

Hope you get a better answer soon.

Tigerschick · 26/11/2007 08:17

Oh - and don't worry about the abbreviations, there is an acronym list at the top and any that aren't there are either quite easy to work out or just ask, people are always happy to help.

Tigerschick · 26/11/2007 15:06

I've now heard from my specialist. Apparently the consultant wants to try me on a different drug. She didn't say which or whether it will be in conjuntion with the Clomid of instead of it. I have an appointment with her on Thursday so I will find out more then.

I'm actually glad that they are not just going to let me carry on with the same stuff in the hope that it suddenly starts working!

scorpio1 · 26/11/2007 15:12

at least someone is paying attention to you

Tigerschick · 26/11/2007 15:25

Absolutely!
After reading what some people have to put up with I know that I am very lucky!

scorpio1 · 26/11/2007 15:27

i emailed you btw.

Tigerschick · 26/11/2007 15:28

I'll go and have a look

Tigerschick · 26/11/2007 15:34

Have replied

Hope everyone else is OK today.

Tigerschick · 29/11/2007 14:48

Right, I have been given Metformin and more Clomifene to take at 150mg dose.
Has anyone here been given Metformin? My specialist said it can make you whoosy and that it is important to take it with food. I've got to take it once a day for a week and then twice a day until either I get pg, or they decide it isn't working, I guess.
Any advice or experience of Metformin greatfully received

Hope everyone is well and happy and going on OK.

scorpio1 · 29/11/2007 20:46

Glad they have sorted you out a bit better for you

Kerri1983 · 30/11/2007 10:17

Hi again, can anyone let me know how long progesterone levels increase between ov and af?

reallyheartbroken · 30/11/2007 10:24

Hi Tigerschick

Thanks for putting my mind at rest. I have also been able to email my consultant who said the same thing, so I guess it's a case of fingers crossed and waiting to see if the clomid works.

So far I'm lucky in that I've not had any side effects - bugt that also makes me worry it's not working to induce ovulation.

Sorry Kerri - I don't know the answer to your question but I hope someone can answer it soon for you.
