Hey floss - just thought I'd say hi on the new thread so it comes up on my "threads I'm on"

Try not to get down about ttc - you are still young (I looked on your profile - I am 30 too and got married in 2005). It will happen for you
x

nomoremagnolia · 29/08/2007 15:39

Assumed you were talking clomid cycles but wasn't sure. Thanks for editing me . Am feeling low today, no reason why in particular, just the fact it's been forever since we started ttc and I feel like it will never happen

lulu1414 · 29/08/2007 16:09

Yay! A new thread. Goes with the weather that has been feeling decidely autumnal.

Morning! On third day of Clomid today and feel a little bit sick but nothing too bad. Also seem to be quite irritable although I think that has to do with work (although last week work wasn't making me feel like blowing my top at the slightest thing!)

I try to be very patient with my DH though cos if I get cranky with him he goes "well the pills are working then..." or something just as smartarse.

Hi nomore - chin up, mate. You will get there in the end. It is just so annoying isn't it when you have spent so long trying not to get PG and then when you try you can't bloody do it! I always think of a treat to give myself "if I am not PG this time". I figure for every month I am not PG I am earning more money/not paying childcare etc so I can afford to treat myself. It helps (a bit)

Any other Clomid buddies out there?

lulu1414 · 30/08/2007 15:21

Pleased to hear the side effects aren't too bad for you NH. I found I varied from cycle to cycle re side effects

Nomore- we all know how you feel. After 11 months of trying after my MMC I often feel like it is never going to happen and that was my one shot. Chin up, though. At least you are on clomid and so doing something to help/ change things! But feel free to moan here- I know I have!

nh101 · 30/08/2007 16:55

Lulu - do they know any reason why the Clomid has not worked so far? I also fear my MMC was my only chance as basically I didn't seem to be having periods!

lulu1414 · 31/08/2007 08:26

OOPs- I posted this on our old thread yesterday- here it is again...

Hiya NH101- well as far as I know clomid has "worked" in that they think I am OVing. I do get AF regularly now and they did a prog test in the middle of my first cycle- I never saw the results for that as he said that as long as I am getting AF regularly then I should be Oving. Clomid hasn't "worked" in that I am not pg, so after my next cycle (start soon) I will have surgery. There were suggestions that I had scarring caused by the ERPC or maybe endemitriosis (which was tentatively diagnosed many years ago).

I am just hanging on to the fact that our MC were a sad event and that we can still get pg. It is awful, though, I know as you are so upset about losing a baby and on top of that you feel like it has screwed up your body! Take care and try to stay positive!

tigerschick · 31/08/2007 12:24

Hi all

Just got back from M&T group and learned a tale that I thought I'd share with you:

There is a lady who goes to the group who has a ds, turned 2 last week, and a dd, 1 in December. We were chatting about children, ttc etc. She told me that she had seven failed IVF treatments over 8 years. They decided to give it a rest for a bit after the seventh one and within a couple of months she got pg naturally! Then, no sooner had she had her ds than she started trying again and she got pg naturally after 4 months.
A success story that made me so I thought it might make you too.

Hope everyone is happy and well.

tigerschick · 31/08/2007 12:27

Realised that I meant to post that on the Summer bambino thread, not here, so have copied and pasted it to there - not very well .
I know it's not about Clomid but it is a success story all the same, so hope no one minds

nh101 · 31/08/2007 15:30

Hey Tigerschick - those stories are lovely, it just goes to show how important it is to try to put ttc to the back of your mind.

Thanks for the info Lulu, sometimes I don't know whether to ask for fear of dredging up awful memories etc from people but it helps to put threads like these into context if you can get an idea of who is on them and what their situations are!

I am justy plodding along, waiting for the drugs to make me OV (yay! Even that is exciting)

lulu1414 · 31/08/2007 16:12

HH101- I know what you mean! After 6 long months of no AF and nobody helping me I was so pleased to see a good doc and to get some help. And then it is exciting to see if the clomid will work. Good luck! I had really bad OV pains the first time- so I was pretty sure it was all happening. These have lessened with each cycle.

MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2007 17:48

hello ladies,

Flosspot - sorry about AF, but on a positive note perhaps Clomid is doing something.

Tiger - not to get you excited but i noticed cm+ dp just kept on bding with the view that will stop when AF arrives. Thankful we did that as ov'd very late.

nh101 - My dp would come up with smart arse comments like that, darlings arent they! lol.

Still lurking if that is ok. For those who have been successful with clomid, if they decide they want another child after do they have to wait again or do they get fast tracked?

lulu1414 · 31/08/2007 18:25

AWEN!!! How are you and bean doing? Good to see you are still lurking.

tigerschick · 31/08/2007 18:28

Hi Awen!! Hope all is going very well for you and your bean. Thanks for that info coz I did have a funny feeling that I may have ov-ed but later than they thought. Keeping up the sex but not getting my hopes up ... really trying not to anyway

MamaMaiasaura · 31/08/2007 19:02

hard not to get hopes up, think i was lucky to have a fab consultant. She was against monitoring etc.. and me being on the nuet

Hi lulu - doing fine, expecting a little boy. Now nearly 23 weeks so really feeling his acrobatics! Ds1 very happy he is getting a brother

Kerri1983 · 01/09/2007 00:37

Hi, I posted a few messages on the last thread, just thought I would let you know where I am up to. I saw the consultant last Friday who confirmed that I did not OV.

The day I went to see the consultant I was on CD 36, he got me to take a test to confirm it was negative and then advised me to increase my Clomid to 100mg from that day.

I have another blood test on new CD 21 so fingers crossed.

lulu1414 · 01/09/2007 07:30

Hi Kerry- hope the increased dosage does it for you.

Awen- lovely news! Have you thought of names? When are you due?

Iamsogloomy · 01/09/2007 10:53

hello all, can I join you girls for September please? I'm in need of some friendly chat....I've been ttc for 2 yrs and this is my 2nd cycle of clomid. Had my 2nd IUI attempt this week so I should be upbeat but can't help feeling as if it is going to be another waste of time and money....

lulu1414 · 01/09/2007 12:02

Welcome Iamso- we all know how upsetting and frustrating it can be! So are you on clomid and IUI? Do tell me more...

MamaMaiasaura · 01/09/2007 12:28

kerri - did the consultant not induce AF first? When i didnt ov, was given progesterone to induce bleed and then was to start on increased dose. Good job she didnt put me straight onto clomid without progesterone as I ov'd late and am preg.

Lulu - Ds2 due new years eve altho may well come sooner. Ds1 arrived 38 weeks 8lb12.. Names are either Daniel or Elliot atm. DP and ds1 like Daniel more. I suggested Eragon but ds1 said no because he wants a name like that and hasnt go one so little brother isnt allowed lol

lulu1414 · 01/09/2007 17:21

Awen- a NY baby! How exciting! I love the names- I love Elliot- can't use it though because friend has one called Elliot (Oh and because I'm not pg!)

MamaMaiasaura · 01/09/2007 17:47

lulu - i am sure it will happen. Just feels like forever when trying. You never know, you might end up with a girl. x

Kerri1983 · 01/09/2007 19:24

Hi Awen, I took progesterone before I started on 50mg clomid, after 21 day blood test was negative the consultant said that I didn't need to take the progesterone again as nothing has changed since I last took it. I thought the logical thing would be to start again but apparantly not.

Has anyone else been in this position??

Thanks

MamaMaiasaura · 01/09/2007 23:57

I was told to take progesterone as day 21 bloods said not ov'd and had neg preg test. Reason behind this is for clomid to start on CD1 - also not sure of side affects clomid has if already preg. Sorry to confuse issue, just what i was told.

Kerri1983 · 02/09/2007 00:02

Did you then get pregnant without another course of clomid?
