TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

I’m so confused right now. Pre MMC my cycles were 28 days and would ovulate around CD 12. This is the first round ttc after my mmc as I had my first period since on the 30th Dec. Currently on CD20. Ive been using the OPK and I think I got a peak/positive result on Wednesday. But yesterday I started getting EWCM and today. I have no idea what my cycle is doing anymore and it’s driving me crazy 😩 I just want a baby and to be a Mummy. Who would think it would be this hard. Just feeling so frustrated and like my body is still letting me down

@GemLou88 it's so frustrating isn't it 😢 it's all this stuff that nobody thinks about after someone has experienced a miscarriage! I had a couple of unusual cycles after my MMC but it seems to have evened out now - I know it's easier said than done but give your body some time - it's been through a traumatic experience xx

@ELM7 @Anny27 @MilsCookie you're all still in the TWW but haven't tested yet right?! I've got everything crossed for you!!
Who else is still waiting to test?! Would be good to know who is still hopeful for this month!

As for me... AF due Wednesday but been having symptoms since 3dpo so was pretty convinced I'd caught - not so convinced it was going to be a stocky after two chemicals in row..

Following on from faint lines at 8 and 9 Dpo where you could barely see it, we now have a clear second line on both an internet cheapie (but VERY good - I'd say as good as frer!) and an frer... I just really hope this one sticks - still a while to go until Wednesday!!!

@BS9790 and @SweetpeaOrMarigold you're both in the TWW and waiting to test too?! Sorry, missed you guys out! Anyone else?!

Wow @didslysquiddlydoo that's definitely a line. Congratulations!! Fingers crossed for a sticky one. Pretty strong considering you're not due until Wednesday. Much stronger than mine was at that point. Xx

That's a good line, @didslysquiddlydoo. Better than mine ever was with my last miscarriage, even when I was a week late.

I'm only at the start of the tww, but I had tender boobs and stretching cramps at what was supposed to be 1dpo, which is far too early for them to be due to Pg, even if I actually ovulated early. Time will tell, I guess 🤷

Yep in the TWW atm - half way now 🥰🥰🥳🥳 7dpo today and AF due next Sunday

@GemLou88 ahh frustrating :( my ovulation was delayed by a week in my second cycle aftee my MC - just sucks doesnt it as you want to be back on track!!

I am half and half between wanting to test early to know and then wanting to wait till AF due so that I have an extra few worry free says. What's everyones thoughts???

Yep I’m still in my TWW. CD25. @Anny27 im also now wondering whether to test earlier than AF due because I can’t wait to know one way or another! I’m thinking I might test a week today (so CD31) so only a few days before AF is due. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@BS9790 I know how you feel. I started getting what felt like BV towards the end of when we needed to dtd and so we didn’t do it anymore. Now worried I didn’t do it enough! Just hoping there were plenty of sperm waiting in the tubes!

@GemLou88 it’s so frustrating isn’t it. I haven’t had any EWCM at all this month so I don’t know if I’ve even ovulated 😞. Sending hugs 😘

Aw ladies I’m right there with you, starting to really feel the anxiety. I just woke up so emotional this morning 😔
CM has turned sticky and yellow so dunno if that’s good or bad .... google says it could be a sign of pregnancy or AF so that doesn’t help 😰😂
I’m testing every day .... all BFN. Not surprising as I’m only 9 DPO

Ok Ladies..... I just did this mornings test 9dpo and got a very faint BFP 🙌🏼 I’m delighted but as previously said the positive test is only the first step now when you’ve 2 miscarriages under the belt 😔

@didslysquiddlydoo yep I’m half way through the TWW and it feels like it’s been months 🤦🏼‍♀️ AF due Sat will try and hold out on testing until Friday but make no promises that my willpower is strong enough to wait that long 😂

@Elm7 Iv just bought loads of internet cheapies and testing from 5dpo (even though it’s ridiculous) as it’s costing me about 20c 😂 and it makes me feel better 😂

I've finally got negative on a pregnancy test so that's my good news

Thanks for your messages, I knew you guys would understand. The OH doesn’t seem to and it’s causing some arguments at the moment, so even with the EWCM we haven’t DTD, so if it was any indication of ovulation it might have been missed now ☹️
Hope everyone in the TWW is surviving. Can’t wait to see more positives in the coming weeks x

I'm about half way through TWW too.
Stressful week at work coming up and all I want to do is stay under my duvet!!

This last week I've just felt so emotional about it all, feel cheated that i should be getting excited for my 12 week and instead I'm worrying that I haven't gotten pregnant this month and (rather irrationally!) fearing that I'll never get pregnant again.

Zero signs for me.... by 7dpo with my MC Pg I was feeling sick, cramping, bloated, off chocolate.

As soon as AF arrives next week... I'm booking a holiday!!!

I'm so tempted to test after seeing all these lovely lines!
Still only about d6-8po that I can work out, although symptoms are v similar to further along last time. MC lasted 9 days and I've no idea when or if I OVd. Have exactly the same symptoms though. Been an absolute cow to DP last night for no reason at all, so thats another sign!

@Sweetpeaormarigold I’m always a bit of a cow too at that time so it’s actually turned into a sign of pregnancy for me lol
@BS9790 I feel cheated literally 3/4 days of the week to be honest. First miscarriage I’d be 6 months now and second miscarriage I’d be going for my 12 week scan this week. It’s so unfair and it’s also robbing me of enjoying my friends pregnancy with her. I’m so happy for her but it makes me sad when I talk to her because it reminds me of what I lost 😞

The whole thing is SH1T ladies but we will get there in the end 🙏

Me on the other hand... still no AF, was due Weds/Thurs gone, I have no hpt left however I did one on Friday and was negative... any one know how long it takes for your 2nd AF to come after MC? After my MC it took 5 weeks and my cycles are usually 4 weeks ...

Getting so frustrated and impatient 😩😩😩
