TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

Ladies I am already feeling so sad if I dont conceive this cycle. We have technically been trying for our first baby since June now so its already been 7 months really. Only 4 months of those actually ttc and the rest of it being pregnant/ having the miscarriage and recovering but it just feels like so long since we first decided :( and even before we decided I had wanted a baby for a long time we just weren't ready.

Sorry being a bit down but I was just so happy when I was pregnant and I want it more than anything again

Sparkl · 16/01/2020 14:21

Congratulations to all the BFPs! So exciting. And good luck to those coming the end of TWW.
Hopefully we’ll all be joining a BFP thread soon 🌈

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 14:37

@Anny27 really sorry you feel so down. TTC is not easy at all and I don't know about you but before we tried for our son I had no idea it would take so long.

When we were TTC with my son it took 7 months. I was getting so down as the whole world seemed to be pregnant and it was on my mind 24/7. I decided in month 7 to stop temping, OPK'ing and symptom spotting, stayed off the apps and forums and just went with the flow. It really help my mood and I was surprised how much it changed how I felt. Not sure if it's related but that was the month we fell pregnant.

It's so hard but please please please don't give up. It will happen again, you just have to stay positive. If you are out this month why not try something different next month to help your mindset?

xx

TerribleImagination · 16/01/2020 14:57

@MilsCookie thank you ❤️ I’m feeling really sad today, but I’ll pick myself up and crack back on!

@Anny27 So sorry you’re feeling so low lovey. TTC is just such a rollercoaster. I know what you mean though, I’d give anything to be pregnant again 😔

Anny27 · 16/01/2020 15:23

@BecsterG thanks lovely! That gives me hope that you have a little boy after 7 months trying! Yep I knew it could take a long time but sidnt expect it to be me as all my friends have seemingly caught quite quick!!

@terribleimagination it's a hard time isnt it! Hope we can be pregnant again soon 🤞🤞🥰

I find the tww much tougher then any other time as theres nothing you can do haha. Atleast before ovulation you can DTD and that's a proactive step haha

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 15:30

@Anny27 I also thought it would happen within a couple of months. I don't understand how some people just have to do it once to get pregnant and others can take years. I have a few friends who've caught quickly and whenever they've tried to offer me advise like try and relax etc it just annoys me as they have no idea how it consumes you.

You have to try somehow and stay positive and your time will come again. It's rubbish as I know nothing I or anyone says can make it happen or make you feel better but we're all in this together.

The TTW is the hardest. I've never been as impatient as I have been this time round. Felt like it had been weeks when I was only 6 DPO :D
xx

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 16/01/2020 15:48

I'm in tww too, if I use MC D1 as AF D1.
No idea if I've ovulated but we've been DTD most days for a week to try and catch.
I have all the same symptoms as last time but I'm worried I'm just making it up Confused
The main symptoms that I had last time were cramps and nausea and it feels just the same, BUT I had all the cramps from MC plus nausea with that, so I'm swinging between "yes I'm 100% pregnant" and "this is still left over pain and I've not even OVd yet"

BS9790 · 16/01/2020 16:50

@FireflyGirl I'm only just in the TWW, I think I ovulated sometime over the weekend.
Tbh... Havent actually got a clue anymore.
Just winging it!!

Cruiser1 · 16/01/2020 16:58

Hi Ladies, the TWW is killing me 😰
I know what you mean @BecsterG I feel like the TWW has been going on for about 4 weeks already and I’m only 7/8 dpo 😩

Iv just started to get cramps.... they’re quite sharp. Getting them for the last 2 hours or so now on and off
Praying it’s implantation 😥

mlax · 16/01/2020 17:21

Hi ladies...

AF due yday/today so took a test and it's negative ☹️ here's to trying next month 🤞

Anny27 · 16/01/2020 18:17

@BecsterG yep I am trying to stay positive! If I am not pregnant it means I can go on the waterslidds when we visit centreparcs next month.....so a very small silver lining haha! When will you retest??

Sorry @mlax :( are you sure of when you ovulated?

@cruiser1 8dpo quite early for AF cramps so let's hope its implantation! 🤞🤞

@SweetpeaOrMarigold when will you test?

StephyRose · 16/01/2020 18:34

@Anny27 sorry to hear your feeling down lovely. I found myself getting down in the last few weeks because I felt like I already was pregnant, why am I having to fight for it again? At least it feels like a fight as every day is a rollercoaster of emotions.

But you will get pregnant again and have a baby. Because you want it so much. And you are taking all the right steps to get there. 💗🌈👶🏼 this could absolutely be your month.

Keeping everyone crossed for you, for us all. ❤💗💙

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 16/01/2020 18:36

@Anny27 I would love to say in about 10 days....but my ICs will arrive tomorrow or Saturday and I will 100% do morning tests every day 🤣

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 19:20

@Anny27 I’m a serial tester so I’ll test again tomorrow. If it’s still positive I might take a clear blue digital on Saturday. Ekk. Doesn’t feel real until I get a positive in a clear blue for some reason. Really want to see the line darken tomorrow. Fingers crossed my son sleeps through like normal so I have a good long pee. Grin

Xx

MilsCookie · 16/01/2020 19:29

@mlax you’re not out till AF arrives! There just might not be enough HCG yet? Sending you lots of luck!

@Anny27 sorry you’re having a down day lovely. We all have them I’m sure. Sending you lots of hugs and luck for when you start testing!! 🍀 I would love to be on a pregnancy board with you again, let’s hope this month is our month!

@Cruiser1 this is exciting!! Sending you lots of luck! 🍀

This TWW is draaaaagging!! I’ve said to myself that I’m not gonna test till after AF is due (because I’m not actually sure if my cycle has gone back to normal yet since MC in November) and that’s not until 28th...so I won’t be testing till at least 29th!! That’s 13 whole days away 😩😩😩
I just can’t cope with the disappointment I’ll feel if it’s negative, so want to give myself the best chance of it being a bfp if that makes sense.

Thank you @TerribleImagination for setting up the new group, I’ll definitely join if no BFP this month!

Sending baby dust to you all ✨👣🌈 xxx

@MilsCookie right back at you lovely ✨👣🌈

Just a quick virtual hug and a wave goodbye as I'm about to turn off and snooze now. My brain has been proper crazy today, just totally obsessed with thinking about babies. Non stop. I'm bored of myself now so hopefully tomorrow will be a more present day for me.

Stay strong ladies, and thank you again @MilsCookie for every effort you have made on this thread, you have done a really good thing here, something that people will find for years to come and take so much support from

FireflyGirl · 16/01/2020 21:12

@mlax I didn't test positive with DS until I was late.

BS9790 · 16/01/2020 22:12

Wanted something take my mind off the TWW... However a UTI was not really what I had in mind Hmm
Just back from the walk in armed with antibiotics... Yay...!

MilsCookie · 16/01/2020 22:50

@ChampooPapi I hear ya sister. I get bored of myself too. It’s utterly all consuming and totally draining when it’s literally all we think about!! Thank you for your lovely words although it’s really not about me. I can’t believe what an amazing support network we have found on this thread. I only thought 2 or 3 people would be joining me, it saddens me that so many of us have been through the same thing. I wish I could meet you all in real life haha!! You’re all amazingly strong women and I have to thank you all for keeping me sane 💖

MilsCookie · 16/01/2020 22:59

@BS9790 ouuuuuch 😖😖😖 you poor thing I HATE UTIs!! They are absolute agony!! Hope you’re ok and the antibiotics kick in soon!!

Whilst we’re discussing vaginal problems (LOVE being a woman sometimes 🙄) I actually think what I might have is BV, not thrush, because the itching has been coming and going and also yesterday there was a bit of a fishy smell 😳😳😳 I’ve never had this in my life... I’ve googled difference between BV and thrush and that’s what makes me think it’s that ☹️ Any ideas how I can treat it? Id rather not get antibiotics if poss as I feel I’ve had a LOT of those in the last year due to UTIs and post MC etc. The joys!!!!

OP posts:
Anny27 · 16/01/2020 23:23

@MilsCookie you can use a caneston self test which tells you whether its BV or thrush :) can pick them up in boots and then theres also some treatment options there as well for when its confirmed. Its basically a tiny swab that changes colour instantly if its BV

StephyRose · 17/01/2020 05:29

Hi ladies, happy Friday!!

Tested again this morning and after your advice. The line is definitely there... just thought it would be darker by now as AF due tomorrow.

It is darker than Wednesday but still faint. No AF symptoms as yet and as I say due tomorrow touches wood . 🤞

Do you think this is okay and will just get darker in time? Could it be that I implanted late?

@StephyRose hey lovely, testing and getting a faint line is stressful isn't it?! I would stay cautiously optimistic at the moment - the line is clearly still there and if it's darker than Wednesday that's a positive sign! (I know people say not to rely on line progression but in my cases it always rang true). Some people never get a really strong positive... as it stands there are clearly two lines = pregnant. I really hope it sticks for you - unfortunately it's a case of waiting until after AF due and testing again 🤞🏼🤞🏼

didslysquiddlydoo · 17/01/2020 06:27

I also tested this morning - now 9dpo and 6 days before AF due 🙈

The line still v v faint, as expected, but a tiny bit more obvious than yesterday. Again, doesn't show up as well in pictures but attached a photo...

StephyRose · 17/01/2020 06:49

@didslysquiddlydoo I can definitely see something!! 🤞🎉

Thank you, you are right. Just a bit worrying as although it is darker, expected it to be more vivid today.

I will be cautiously optimistic as you say. I cant test again now until Tuesday as I've run out of tests and we are going away straight from with this evening. Ordered some more to be delivered to work but I dont get my hands on them until Monday ... I will be crushed if I'm not PG as I've been excited since Wednesday. Everything crossed. 🤞🤞

When will you test again? Xx
