TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

@BecsterG that looks positive to me yayyy
@toomanyleggings are you first cycle after miscarriage? Could be left over HCG
If not then it’s definitely a positive yayy

TerribleImagination · 16/01/2020 09:38

I think I’ve done this right?! Here is the February thread...

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3796903-TTC-after-miscarriage-February-2020?msgid=93157221#93157221

In the nicest possible way, I hope none of you have to join! But if you do, I’ll have a virtual brew and hug waiting ❤️

FireflyGirl · 16/01/2020 09:41

I think that's a good idea, Terrible.

People IRL are sympathetic, and some of them have even been through it, but it's nice to have people to talk to who are going through it right now, iykwim.

I think it would be great to have a thread for those people who get a bfp, for the same reason, even though I'm not there yet. My first pg ended in MMC at 11 weeks, and I was so anxious throughout my subsequent successful pg with DS. I didn't bond with him until he was about 6 months old, because I was convinced he was going to be 'taken away', and it wasn't something I could discuss with anyone IRL (apart from DH, but he obviously wasn't experiencing it from a mother's point of view, where you can feel them moving inside you and you're praying your body looks after this one).

FireflyGirl · 16/01/2020 09:52

Is anyone else not into the TWW yet? I don't want to be sat here by myself in a week's time Grin

StephyRose · 16/01/2020 09:59

@BecsterG I can see it!! Congratulations! 🎉🎉💗

@didslysquiddlydoo I can see yours too!! And the fact that you can see it at 8DPO is really a good sign. :D

I caved and took another one this morning and the line, though faint, is definitely there. I dont even have to try and find it now, I can just see it. Hopefully this is a good sign. 🤞

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 09:59

I agree with @TerribleImagination. The bottom one isn’t positive. Did you get a negative after MC?

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 10:03

@didslysquiddlydoo I think I can it too! Very very faint. This was me yesterday and I was 9 DPO. I took a cheapie and it showed more positive than a FRER. Take one again tomorrow?

I’ll test again tomorrow. Why not ya ha. I was up twice last night with my little boy so didn’t have a massive build up of urine. Ended up peeing when he was up at 5:30 as I couldn’t get back to sleep and I went to the loo at 1:30 before that so just 4 hours. Ekk all so worrying too after why we’ve all been through.

Have a lovely day ladies x

TerribleImagination · 16/01/2020 10:06

@FireflyGirl Yeah I totally know what you mean. I know plenty of people who’ve gone through losses, but they all have babies / kids / are pregnant now, so no one is living this with me in real life!

That’s such a lovely idea for a pregnancy thread too! Fingers crossed we all get to be on that together too 🤞🏻

You poor thing going through that with your son. I can only imagine how hard that must have been 😢 The emotional aftermath of a loss is such a rollercoaster! There are so many ways it can manifest.

Anny27 · 16/01/2020 10:09

@DisneyMummySince2010 sorry AF arrived :(

@terribleimagination thanks for setting up the Feb thread. Hopefully I wont have to join 🤞

Theres a lot of lines on this group! All you ladies are very fertile. Let's hope its catching 🥳🤣

4dpo for me today and 0 symptoms but not expecting any till about 7/8dpo!

I

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 10:10

@FireflyGirl that’s a great idea for a thread.

Sounds like you’ve really been through it!

I agree it’s nice to live it with someone who’s going through what we are. X

ChampooPapi · 16/01/2020 10:14

@FireflyGirl waves, I'm in the two week wait, but I will still be baby dancing from today untill Sunday again just in case I haven't ovulated. Doing smep with some extra sex thrown in for good measure 🙄. My period is due the 28th from my last three cycles post miscarriage so I'll be testing on the 29th if it doesn't show.

And yes to all threads pregnancy or otherwise ♀️🔌

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 10:16

Sorry mean the bottom one is positive!! Ahh so sorry I really need to proof read my messages.

ChampooPapi · 16/01/2020 10:17

@BecsterG congratulations! This is fantastic all these bfp! 🌈✨💜

ChampooPapi · 16/01/2020 10:19

@didslysquiddlydoo oh goodness another 👣, wow ladies so pleased for you all. Everything crossed for sticky ones, keep us updated with those line progressions! 🤞

Anny27 · 16/01/2020 10:22

@Champoopapi yeah we must be similar then as I am due AF 26th ish!!

How are you feeling- think you have ovulated?

ChampooPapi · 16/01/2020 10:25

@Anny27 god knows , I feel like I'm ovulating all the time 😆. My body has been playing a lot of tricks on me this month so going to keep at it this weekend but then I am soo done untill the end of the month when it'll either be testing or bleeding 🤞👣

ChampooPapi · 16/01/2020 10:26

@Anny27 I really hope you catch this month, October baby sounds pretty good to me 💜

cinderrose · 16/01/2020 10:41

Hi ladies! I have been reading this thread since it started, you guys have kept me sane for this past couple of weeks so I am officially joining now. I had a MMC at 9 weeks towards the end of November with medical management (twice as the first time didn't complete).

The MC really devastated me and people not talking about it or acknowledging it made it so much worse for me. Such a lonely thing to go through so it's very comforting to hear you all had similar experiences.

I am feeling ready to try again, on CD20 and getting almost positive OPKs so hoping to ovulate soon. So so so exciting to see the positive pregnancy tests!!! It's giving me hope!

ChampooPapi · 16/01/2020 10:58

Hey @cinderrose, it's bloody hard isn't it lovely, we are here all the way girl. Cd21 so getting on it as well today and this weekend, after our surgical managements we can't be certain of ovulation so just keep doing that deed 💪

Michette · 16/01/2020 11:45

@BecsterG i can see it!!! 8dpo is really good!!
Fingers crossed!!

I tested with ultra early this morning and BFN. I am at 10dpo..

99% sure i am not pregnant now. But will test again saturday!!

And yes defo in for a Feb thread!!!!

Flowers
Cruiser1 · 16/01/2020 12:16

Definitely February thread 🙌🏼

Aw @Michette don’t give up hope, maybe Saturday 👍🏼

BecsterG · 16/01/2020 12:29

@Michette thank you. I’m 9DPO so really not a strong positive yet. You’re not out until AF arrives. That’s what I say anyway. Baby dust. Star

toomanyleggings · 16/01/2020 12:31

Do you know thinking about it. I wonder whether February is going to be a fertile month. When I tried a few years ago, I started in September, had three early miscarriages on the run and then finally got a sticky bean in February.
I read this article about 'killer cells' that run in cycles which might explain recurrent miscarriage
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.newscientist.com/article/2121182-timing-when-you-get-pregnant-could-prevent-a-miscarriage/amp/

kkr168 · 16/01/2020 13:11

@FireflyGirl I'm not in tww yet, will be soon though!
My opk came back as peak yesterday morning (7am) so assume I'll ovulate today & count tomorrow as 1dpo?

MilsCookie · 16/01/2020 13:47

Hey everyone - wow this thread moves so fast I can’t keep up! 🙈

Congratulations to the ladies with BFPs!! So so excited for you. Sending all my love and wishes for a sticky bean this time and healthy pregnancy!! ✨👣💖🌈

I’m so sorry to hear AF arrived @terribleimagination, you must feel so disappointed 😔 But it’s important to remember that it is normal to take 6-12 months to conceive (although I know that’s really not that helpful when we’re impatient women and it’s the thing we want more than anything in the world!) Hope you are being kind to yourself. Keep eating well and looking after your body and your time will come. Hopefully in the next cycle!!

I am on CD22 and dtd again this morning and yesterday. Like @champoopapi I’m not sure when I ovulated and don’t want to miss it in case I haven’t yet! But going off previous cycles I’m expecting AF to show up around CD33 so won’t be testing till the end of the month. Trying really hard not to think about it and get on with day to day activities but it’s on my mind 24/7!!
