TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

@Ejb86 @MilsCookie ahhh fingers crossed! 🤞🏼 I'm gonna try and hold out on testing too but I'm terrible at waiting.. I've got quite a few 13hr shifts in my tww so I'm hoping that will actually help to distract me!!!
@MilsCookie - I saw you're about 1dpo?! Eek keep us updated - I have a love / hate relationship with symptom spotting but it's addictive!! 😂

didslysquiddlydoo · 14/01/2020 22:00

@Michette ahhhh how exciting, there's so many of us having quite a lot of symptoms! Fingers crossed for you - keep us updated, I really really hope it's a positive one for you!! Xx

StephyRose · 14/01/2020 22:07

Hahaha @Anny27, so true.

What do we all do BTW?

I am a teacher - teach English in a secondary school 🙋🏼‍♀️ love the actual job of teaching, love the kids, dont enjoy all the marking. Just want to be as free as a bird....... 🐦 but I always have stuff to do 😫

First world problems 😋

StephyRose · 14/01/2020 22:16

@Michette wishing you a BFP my lovely 💗

I've had cramps too but I keep convincing myself it's just premenstrual x

Michette · 14/01/2020 22:20

@stephyrose
I just want to get excited lol i also know 50% chance it is period normal cramps but still!!! :)

I am an accountant for a bank. My last day of work is 31/03 and i cannot wait! Then hopefully will be spending time nesting :)

Good to be a teacher though!! You get nice holidays Wink

Wish all of us a BFP 🥳

MilsCookie · 14/01/2020 22:21

@Anny27 LOL 🤣 OMG that would be brilliant.

@StephyRose I’m a teacher too!! Primary though 😊 although I’m currently unemployed as I’ve been travelling for the autumn term! Got an interview next week though 😬 (I realise this is a bad time to TTC but we’re both so desperate and scared it might take a long time!)

@Michette eeeeek fingers crossed for you!!! Really hope we see your BFP later this week! 😃

@didslysquiddlydoo yep about 1dpo... will definitely keep you updated! Hopefully not too many more poo problems 😂 💩

@MilsCookie not gonna lie, I love a bit of poo talk!! 😂

GoldenBauble · 14/01/2020 23:27

I have two roles in a local authority. One of them is really stressful and high pressured, the other not so much at the minute so it helps keep me sane (haha!) half of the week 😂

I do a lot of work with children and families which I do enjoy - not always such a fan of the paperwork we have to do and the tight timescales when you feel incredibly busy. There's never a dull day anyway!

Leok83 · 14/01/2020 23:58

Seems like lots of you in the TWW, have everything crossed for you!! Not looking forward to those again..who knew 2 weeks could drag by sooo slowly and all you do is wish the time away which is terrible!!

@StephyRose I’m a vet (small animals). Love the job but not great for TTC as get so worried being around anaesthetic gas an xrays and also Locum’s are like hens teeth so even though I was signed off until Friday by hospital had to go back yesterday as no cover. Times like this would love a big corporate or government job where it’s easier to take time off!

I had first accupuncture session today, my family have been to this lady for various aches and pains and swear by her. So she’s focusing on getting me ready for ttc again, not sure what to make if it..odd lying with needles sticking out of your head ears and belly!! Have to go weekly so time will tell if it works!! Has anyone else tried it?

StephyRose · 15/01/2020 06:21

Okay ladies, I am absolutely cray cray and I just did a FRER with FMU. I'm 10DPO ... there was a very very faint line.

I don't want to get my hopes up as it is a real squinted. Last time I did my first test at 11DPO and that was a squinter too. Would I be able to see anything if it was negative?

I dont want to post a photo as its embarrassing. 😫🙈🤣

StephyRose · 15/01/2020 06:22

Love finding out about your jobs ladies. I love my job but I cant be a teacher forever. The stress I feel during term times isn't worth the holidays 🤣

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 15/01/2020 06:28

@StephyRose oh my goodness how exciting! Please show us!
I'm im the tww I think now too, difficult to know because I've not had AF since MC but OH said this morning I'm pregnant and I've been symptom spotting too, cramps and nausea like last time and a tingly nipple yesterday Grin
I'm a very senior clinical nurse in neonates. Wondering if I'm outing myself as its very niche.

Ejb86 · 15/01/2020 06:43

Another teacher here too. Primary, just returned last week after 3 months off recovering from the miscarriage. My lb has had a bad cold for the past couple of days and has had such restless nights. I'm bloody knackered.

@didslysquiddlydoo I tested...BFN as youd expect this early. My nipple has been so sore as my lb has fed through the night.

StephyRose · 15/01/2020 06:53

I cant @SweetpeaOrMarigold! 🤣 the more I look it at the more I think it is negative... will try again on Friday morning.

🤞🤞

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 15/01/2020 07:00

🤣🤣 ok be brave and wait. Its so hard though!

BS9790 · 15/01/2020 07:05

Another teacher here too.. Primary. Like others have said, love the job... Hate the paperwork, stress and never ending jobs. It's only the second week of term and I'm already running on empty!

TerribleImagination · 15/01/2020 07:17

Lots of teachers here! 😃 I’m a fundraiser for a national charity.

So far I’m spending this week flitting between thinking I’m pregnant and then convincing myself AF is about to show - the usual TWW turmoil! 😂 I should be due today or tomorrow I reckon, but can’t be sure as haven’t had AF since miscarriage, but gave it a good go in my fertile week! Saturday will be 5 weeks since the miscarriage, so I could test now, but waiting until at least the weekend if AF doesn’t show up 🤞🏻

mlax · 15/01/2020 07:26

@StephyRose omg how exciting!!! I feel like I'm in the exact same position as you... I could see a faint faint line but not sure if it's just me dreaming it 😩😩 I'll retest in a few days.

My AF is due today or tomorrow and got slight back ache (I usually get these prior to my AF arriving) 🙄 but I have had backache for the last 2 weeks along with cramps... we'll see if it comes tomorrow I guess!

P.s not sure if I'm outing myself here either 🤣 but I am a 'senior legal claims executive' in a legal department within a tour operator dealing with injury and illness claims. Very long winded I know!

ChampooPapi · 15/01/2020 07:38

@StephyRose oh my god yay! This is so exciting! I know , I know.... Could not be a 'go-er' as yet but come on, it's very hopeful 🌈🤞🤞

ChampooPapi · 15/01/2020 07:39

@StephyRose and obviously test again this evening and upload it immediately

BecsterG · 15/01/2020 07:44

@StephyRose I’m exactly the same. I’m 9 DPO and can swear I can see the faintest of lines if I hold it in a certain way. Worried I now imagine lines up though Grin
Good luck x

ChampooPapi · 15/01/2020 07:45

@Michette just hold out little one! Even testing tomorrow, I think the signs can be obvious sometimes (I've had two little ones myself) so i have to say your description sound pretty positive to me. But non of us needs to see a negative pregnancy test after our miscarriages unless we have to. Sending a bucket of baby dust to you 🤞✨✨🌈

BS9790 · 15/01/2020 07:46

With the ovulation sticks, do you ovulate whilst line is still present? Or once the line has gone? Sorry I have so many questions Blush
I'm finding it really hard to not know my dates and what's going on this cycle.

I think I'm in my TWW now, but wasn't actually expecting to ovulate until later this week... But sticks have gone from clear line to no line.
Was up in the night with pains, keep panicking about post mc infection ConfusedBlush

Anny27 · 15/01/2020 08:04

Ahhhh exciting so many potential lines!!!! :D let us know how you get on ladies

Wow a lot of teachers! I am afraid I am a much more boring Project manager 😆

Post miscarriage when I had to make sure the tests were negative, I took FRERs to confirm the hcg was gone and the morning before I had a hcg blood test it was a faint positive (not even a squinterbut a very faint line) and when I had my bloods taken that same morning it was beta hcg of 3 which is ridiculously low. Which shows how sensitive they are!!
