TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

Hi all.
I had a mmc in October. 10 weeks but pregnancy stopped developing at 6+4. Started trying straight away again and have had consecutive chemical pregnancies. I'm certain that I need to have a break from trying but at the same time I don't want to waste any more time! So this will probably be our last try for a while so hoping lots!

Hi guys

I just had a second scan and the sac is still there (nothing inside) but it’s 11 days since I started bleeding.

I had semi heavy bleeding for 7 days with a few clots but nothing scary size but the bleeding is light and brown for last 3 days.

Has any one experienced this? I was not under the care of an obgyn as this happened naturally/started bleeding end of December at a weekend and I have just seen a GP and got my scans as a “favour” as it was the weekend when I started miscarrying and I wanted confirmation that it was or wasn’t a miscarriage at the time.

I’m wondering if anyone let it happen naturally and the sac just remained inside and when will they give me the option of pills to just get this over with. It’s depressing me the way it is dragging on...

Mammacooks · 09/01/2020 18:09

@Bath2020 so sorry to hear you’re going through this.
So I had a missed miscarriage and my doctor gave me the option of if I wanted medical, surgical or natural management. Perhaps book an appointment as soon as poss to discuss your options. Hopefully as you’ve already been scanned you won’t have to wait too long either. They are usually pretty quick I believe. All the very best x

Cruiser1 · 09/01/2020 18:59

@Anny27 my temp was 36.3 today 🤷‍♀️ I’m so confused
Also.... I got a very strong positive OPK today so I guess I didn’t ovulate last week and must be ovulating now 🤔

So we are back to the sexing again 😦🥵😂

Anny27 · 09/01/2020 19:39

@cruiser1 ahh perhaps just a confusing cycle after miscarriage then - yep get DTD!

@MilsCookie yep they looked like they were gearing up to be positive and then went back down. I have got this one tonight which looks like I could potentially be ovulating soon? I dont know haha. Not sure hubby can be convinced to DTD tonight, we both had a huge meal and are feeling sluggish 🙈 maybe I can compromise for a morning DTD tomorrow

@AlviesMam we usually spoon and avoid any girl on top positions🙈

Whoops forgot to attach photo @MilsCookie

AlviesMam · 09/01/2020 20:05

Thanks guys!
I'm so glad some of you spoon too 😂🙈
It's just easier when doing it regularly but wanted to make sure it's still a successful position 😂

Bath2020 · 09/01/2020 20:05

Thanks so much @Mammacooks you’re so nice. Have a lovely evening xx

StephyRose · 09/01/2020 20:05

@Michette you are so right. I know I cant put my life on hold until we fall pregnant again and I should just relax until it happens, because it will happen at the tight time.💗

The timing of your MC was awful and I can understand why it would make you think that. But you will be a Mum. ❤💗 We need to trust our bodies.

StephyRose · 09/01/2020 20:10

@Bath2020 I'm so sorry to hear your experience and that it is dragging on. Did they not give you options?

The body is miraculous and when it is all out finally your body will heal quickly. I had medical management on the 21st of November and had my first period on the 20th December ... it felt like an age but it wasnt really in the grand scheme of things.

Sending you love ❤❤

mlax · 09/01/2020 20:20

@Bath2020 so sorry for your loss.

Has anyone ever experienced pains in the lower abdomen?? These started this morning and I've felt quite (sorry for TMI 🥴) constipated the last 2 days! Feel like every symptom I'm having brings me back to pregnancy related symptoms and it's driving me insane.. overanalysing far too much!

AlviesMam · 09/01/2020 20:48

@mlax I'm the same! I hate how similar all these symptoms are. Now I'm aware I'm ovulating (or at least I think I am!) I'm all of a sudden getting symptoms like feeling sick and low stomach pain and back pain which I would have never have noticed before TTC!
I hate that I obsess over every little symptom now and I feel your pain as it does bring you back to pregnancy symptoms 😔😔

I currently have pain in my left ovary and lower back pain. FLO predicted my ovulation for yesterday.

Hope a few of us get our BFP this month?! 🙏🏼

So happy I have this thread to vent to and to post my silly and TMI questions 🤣 makes me giggle and gives me comfort I'm not alone!

Sending love to the recent posters regarding your MC ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

I would have been 32 weeks and breaking up from work tomorrow, but instead I'm waving goodbye to my two colleagues who are breaking up for maternity instead. Hard times but it only makes me stronger 🤞🏼

mlax · 09/01/2020 20:52

@AlviesMam do you think yours are ovulating pains? According to my FLO app I'm not! I'm due on my AF in 7 days so I'm 3DPO but they were low chances of getting of getting pregnant. My highest date according to that was the 1st January! So frustrating!!!

I hope some of us do! Fingers crossed 🤞

You're absolutely correct, it does make us stronger! I feel it since being involved on this post! So thank you everyone!

AlviesMam · 09/01/2020 20:57

@mlax I think I possibly am. I always get these pains around ovulation so I assume it is! I've never used OPK I've just sort of guessed and DTD every night up until a week before AF!

I've read sometimes you have a cycle where you don't ovulate but that's rare.

You think it would be easy to fall if between 20-400billion sperm enter In one load!! But no it's 25% bloody chance!!! How is that!!

I need to stop researching and just go with it 😂😂😂

Sparkl · 09/01/2020 21:10

This thread is just like life atm, a rollercoaster of emotions! Flowers to all those still in the horrible place of very recent or ongoing MC but also for those giving me a laugh with tmi position conversations! And @ChampooPapi your post made me laugh too, so thank you! Hope no accidents have befallen your DP!

Good to know I’m not the only one thinking about gravity and dtd!

FireflyGirl · 09/01/2020 21:37

Flowers to the people who have just joined us.

We do most positions, whichever we enjoy, but when we're ttc, I lift my legs afterwards and lay down for a while.

AlviesMam · 09/01/2020 21:49

@Sparkl

Yes I worry about gravity. After the whole legs In the air situation I have a special pillow to put under my hips to make sure
I'm kept tilted in case I fall asleep. Absolute fucking madness really 😂😂😂

Bath2020 · 09/01/2020 21:58

@StephyRose thank you that is so great you got the cycle back really quickly.

No I haven’t been presented with any options by my GP. She said it would happen in time and to take another week off work.

However for my mental health I literally cannot wait much longer. Patience is not my virtue either tbf but two weeks of medium bleeding and a sac still fully in place is getting to me now. I had not yet been with an obstetrician when this started happening so I am going to try and call the private maternity hospital in my city tomorrow and get the next available appointment with someone there. It’s my first pregnancy so I have no idea how this is supposed to go (not that every miscarriage is the same by any means) but I just need to be in a specialists care who will help me. Good luck to everyone this weekend xx

Mammacooks · 09/01/2020 22:21

@bath2020 that sounds like a good plan. My consultant gave me all three options and let me choose. I, like you, found the continuous waiting really difficult and wanted it to be over. They can talk you through the options and you can choose what’s right for you. Good luck and sending a virtual hug!

AlviesMam · 09/01/2020 23:05

Does anyone know why flo (the app) gives you more fertile days in certain months. I log a 28 day cycle each month but don't understand how i had 10 fertile days last month and only have 7 this month?

BS9790 · 09/01/2020 23:22

Odd question.. Has anyone experienced any nipple discharge? Mine started just after I was told pregnancy was non viable, but is still continuing now? Its a dark colour and only from one side?! EPU said it wasn't something they'd associate with miscarriage and to see a GP.

In regards to position, we just did whatever last time... Which is usually the ones with gravity not on our side... 😂Blush

Hope everyone is doing OK xx

Bath2020 · 09/01/2020 23:29

@bs9790 I would have thought it was milk given the circs but epu not evaluating I would go to gp soon as you can and get it checked in case of any other issues coming to fore. Good luck

Michette · 10/01/2020 10:17

@BS9790 might be some hormonal issue?
The only time i had milk in my breast was because of a medication and not pregnant but other than that i dont really know...
Weird.

Michette · 10/01/2020 10:21

Ladies

The TWW is starting to be long.

But- how do you calculate your dpo???
From day of surgestart? Day of peak? Day after?
Day after surge end?

My surge started saturday then peak was on Sunday and on Monday it was much lighter almost back to normal. Since my opks are very light.

So lost. When is the first dpo?

hannahs87 · 10/01/2020 10:52

I think im out of the running for this month. I don't think i ovulated properly anyway sine the MMC and im still BF. I'm really tired, grumpy and wanting chocolate so all the signs that AF is coming... I'm so done with trying again, makes me angry but i so want to be pregnant.
