Dec/Jan Bus - Testing New Year

Beau2019 · 06/12/2019 09:54

Hi ladiessss.

I thought about having some time away from MN but you get so much support here (and I need it at the moment!) so I thought I'd start a new thread for all those who are due to test end December/NY time.

TTC#2 (first baby)
28yo
Cycle #4
Short LP (boo)
Chemical in October
AF due 30th December

So I had my implant out a few months ago, since then my cycles have been VERY short but regular (23-24 days). My luteal phase is very short 8-9 days which I think is what causing me issues. I conceived very quickly 3 years ago with typical 28-29 day cycles and I didn't track a thing (only CM). Last month got my positive OPK CD14. I'm not sure if I am going to track ovulation this month...

AF due 30th based on a 25 day cycle

OP posts:
Trying2019 · 06/12/2019 11:46

I was considering giving up MN in December as well but ill join as the support is fantasticSmile

TTC #1
Cycle 6
Also concerned by short luteal phase so started taking supplements. My ovulation day and luteal phase does vary so AF due from about 27th dec to 1st Jan.

Good luck everyone

Jane0510 · 06/12/2019 15:23

I'll be testing around new year too...

TTC no 1
Cycle 1

Came off the implant in October and haven't actively been trying until now as I wanted to see how my periods were first. I seem to have settled into a 29 day cycle straight away though Smile

emstone · 06/12/2019 15:34

I got my implant out today! Read some stories about people getting pregnant without even having a period (someone also mentioned it happened to them in another post) so I'm going to test on New Years Day to fulfill my curiosity!

I haven't had periods while on the implant so I have no idea what my cycles will be like!

Positivity2019 · 06/12/2019 16:03

Hello, I’ll be testing 27th Dec if no Af so hoping for something amazing to celebrate going into the new year.
I’m currently on Cycle 6 and so far they have been a bit irregular. Some months 27 days, some have been 24/25 days and one month was 17 days which was a right kick in the teeth. Trying for my first child aged 35.
Fingers crossed Santa is well and truly good to us this year.

Beau2019 · 07/12/2019 10:31

@emstone I heard loads of stories exactly the same so good luck to you! I got a BFP just over 2 weeks from having implant out, must have been a chemical as AF came a few days later and tests were then negative. I think the implant totally messed my hormones up, I've only had it in a year and every time I stopped the pill in the years previous, everything went back to normal straight away.

Fingers crossed for you!!

emstone · 08/12/2019 14:46

@Beau2019 I'm sorry to hear about your chemical :( that's my only concern about testing after the two weeks. I'd rather wait longer so that its hopefully a more viable BFP but I know I'm wayyyyy too impatient and will want to find out ASAP ahaha

Chanel05 · 08/12/2019 14:50

TTC #1
Cycle 16
Cd3
Mmc in May
9dpo on January 1st so may test then if I feel like it.

CuppaTea86 · 08/12/2019 17:45

Hi checking in!
TTC #2
1st cycle
Cycles 24-27 days but consistent LP 13 days.
Will be using clear blue digital ov tests and temp checking (love a good graph)

Flossie333 · 08/12/2019 19:22

Hi! I'm also going to join, was so convinced I was pregnant last cycle and was gutted when AF turned up. Its such a stressful time and so I love the support on here and seeing other women go through the similar journeys.

I'm TTC #1, am 29 and next AF is due on the 7th Jan.

Last cycle I used the clear blue OPK (the two most fertile days ones) but am thinking of trying the four most fertile day ones this cycle - I would be interested to hear people's experience of these! Xxx

Fredthespider · 08/12/2019 20:22

TTC #2, cycle 7 I think... I've had regular 28 day cycles but have been ovulating on day 19 so too short of a luteal phase, then this month I managed to ovulate on day 14 but had a curve ball 21 day cycle, so cruel!

Not entirely sure when I'll ovulate. I'm CD 5 at the moment so assuming I go back to 28 days then I'd be due around the 1st, probably testing around the 30th. I'll be tracking ovulation with clearblue digital advanced as usual.

@Flossie333 - I prefer the 4 days personally. You can still get pregnant if you BD a couple days before ovulation, so it gives you a bit of a warning and chance to get some practice in before the surge. However if you're regular as clockwork and you just want to check that you've had the LH surge then the 2 day would be enough.

Flossie333 · 09/12/2019 08:59

@Fredthespider thank you! I've ordered some let's see how they go.

I've also just ordered the iProven BBT thermometer as have never temped before. Has anyone used this one?

Xxx

CooperLooper · 09/12/2019 09:18

Hi everyone I'll join in too.

Cycle 2 (going into 3)
TTC #1
Age 28

I had my implant out on 5th October and things haven't settled at all yet. I had it in consecutively for 6 years without a period.

Ovulated in October and had a 2 day period just 4DPO later so a super short LP. I've ovulated again in Nov but now on CD33 and 15DPO, zero sign of AF and consistent BFPs. I'm just waiting for AF now so I can start a new cycle, and am assuming my next testing window will be the start of Jan.

I did start to take Pregnacare Preconception this month and have since read numerous threads online that the levels of B6 in them increase your cycle lengths so I'll stop taking them and go back to standard folic acid and see what happens.

I'm also going to start reading BBT alongside OPKs for my next cycle, I'm getting so frustrated with not knowing what my body is doing. I literally never get CM changes, I'm sick of sticking fingers up my flooff to try and spot EWCM but it never bloomin happens so I'm going to sack that off 😱

Good luck everyone for a 2020 BFP :)

SMttcnumber1 · 09/12/2019 10:02

TTC #1
Have been trying 2.5years with PCOS.
This is mySecond cycle with letrazole..
I'm using clear blue digital ovulation tests and had my first flashy smiley face this morning CD15 wooop!!!
What an amazing Christmas / New year present it would be!! 😁
All the best girls x x

Flossie333 · 09/12/2019 12:14

@Snowberry4 Hello 👋🏼. How did you know you had PCOS? I had an ultrasound scan back in 2014 which determined that my left ovary was enlarged and that I had multiple small follicles or cysts on both ovaries. The Dr said that these were consistent with polycystic type change but could also be produced by multiple follicles because I had been on the pill for so long. I have never had another check and am thinking that I probably should, I suppose I am interested in how you found out? Thank you! 🙏🏼 xx

Snowberry4 · 09/12/2019 12:43

Hey @Flossie333 I never had a period, I mean a "Natural" period.... if I'm on some sort of contraception like the pill or implant I will get them but else wise nada and I'm 30! I got diagnosed late teens with scans and blood tests and several trips to an endocrinologist. I unfortunately have most of the unwanted side effects like body hair and weight can go up or down too. So to bring on a period I have to take oral provera ( Medroxyprogesterone)
My main fertility issue is anovulation as I just don't ovulate which is frustrating.
The hospital continue to monitor me with ultrasounds and blood tests as I'm undoing fertility treatment and the sonographers love to point out "classic of PCOS in appearance" (cheers Love!!!!) Haha.
So many women have it without realising as have no symptoms but I'm a very typical PCOS, but all shall be well or so I'm hoping!!! How long have you been ttc?

Snowberry4 · 09/12/2019 13:04

@Flossie333 forgot to say iv been using the Clear Blue connect ovulation test system and even though it says not suitable for PCOS... last month showed ovulation for me which was supported and backed up by ultrasounds at the hospital so give it a go you have nothing to lose and as mentioned I received high fertility today after 3 days of low fertility :)

Quiffy · 09/12/2019 15:27

Hello, can I join too?

On cd1 after being really hopeful I was pregnant, but spotting has turned into an early AF.

TTC #1
Cycle 5
Age 30
Testing around Jan 4th.

My last period was 7 days early and very light. This one starting is a few days early again and looks to be another light one. So I’m hoping prolonged pill use isn’t still affecting me (finished August but had normal heavy periods until November). Christmas is going to be hectic with lots of travelling so not sure how much time in FW we’ll have to DTD without family being uncomfortably close.

Currently take Pregnacare Conception and folic acid. Using opks and BBT for ovulation. Fingers crossed for a 2020 bfp 🤞

Kisses183 · 09/12/2019 15:42

Hey ladies

I would like to be added. I generally have 26/27 cycle.

I am currently on CD22- 9dpo - testing on 14/15th December if I can hold out.

My January test date will be 9th January.

Does anyone chart, and check their cervix/ cm?

Good luck and baby dust to you all Wink

Kisses183 · 09/12/2019 15:43

How long are your cycles?

Quiffy · 09/12/2019 16:17

@kisses183 I don’t do cervix as I’m clueless with it, but trying to track cm lately. Do you find it helps?

Lucy5546 · 09/12/2019 16:45

Hey ladies. Think this is the thread for me. CD10 here. AF due around 28th - 30th december. Im taking a relaxed approach this month so just noting CM and cervix details. Trying the sperm meets egg plan
too. We are away for most of december not back til 1st of jan so i will be testing then if AF doesnt arrive.

Backround: cycle 3 after coming off pill. Cycles seem to have slipped back to my 28 - 30 day after 7 years or so on the pill. Got too anxious last cycle so with everything else goin on this month im taking a more relaxed approach.. God luck everyone

Flossie333 · 09/12/2019 16:47

@Kisses183 I have tried to track my cervix but thought mine stayed 'high, soft and open' last cycle after ovulation (if I did ovulate) but then AF showed up so not sure I did it right 🤔

Lucy5546 · 09/12/2019 16:50

@Kisses183 how long have you been tracking your cervix? From what i have resd it can take a few months to get to know its pattern at certain times of your cycle. And you need to be checking at the same time etc as it can change during the day.
I try to track mine for the last three months so its only now i am starting to see its pattern. But everyone is different
