New ttc no1 thread.

BTW if anyone knows where those no1 babies are I'd like to know! If I was a real detective I think I would have been sacked by now!

I've had the odd evening when DH has been out, and I have eaten cereal for dinner whilst on MN!

nomoremagnolia · 16/08/2007 18:24

LOL (yes really!) Thanks for cheering me up!

I went to school with a boy called Julius. He was a bit mad.

Ready · 16/08/2007 20:08

Is it just me lurking about on MN this evening. What a dullard.

Wanted to say Nomore - well done on the diplomatic work betwixt hut and caravan. I hadn't realised quite how much friction there had been, I'm afraid I was fuelling the fire til I read the posts, and felt bad

BabyBratt · 16/08/2007 20:57

Hi Ladies,

My goodness how much have I missed

Fi It took me 10 months to get a BFP. My hormones were all over the place. I can safely say it was one of the hardest times of my life but please keep the faith. I had really lost it this month and look what happened. I would symptom spot every month and convince myself I was pg and then every month I sat and got a BFN. Most months I sat and cried. Everyone around me was falling pregnant. This may sound ungrateful because I now have a BFP but I am scared to death that it wont stick. I've tested twice already because I was paranoid about the line. Please don't give up, I nearly did.

nomore ((((Hugs))) hope your feeling better. You guys have picked me up so many times when I have been down. And you are a fantastic diplomat saw your work in caravan

I love brothers and sisters by the way and my confession is I am a big brother addict and love the fact that they showed the housemates nominations. How evil am I!!!

nomoremagnolia · 16/08/2007 21:39

I just want everyone to be happy that's all. Could see it all kicking off big time! BB hope you don't mind what I said about your BFP, I am really pleased for you, just was feeling shit myself (as explained in the caravan) but it was nothing personal please don't think it was your BFP I was upset about, it was two things that happened at work and one that happened on the way to work that had upset me.

Morning folks!! Loving you line on the Cemetary meet- up Nomore - cheered me up no end this morning..

... of to lurk in the hut and caravan to see what has been going on as I'm all intrigued now!

toomuchtimeonline · 17/08/2007 09:48

oops - meant cemetery not cemetary...

rattling · 17/08/2007 10:54

Can I just pop in to rant that last night's episode of Heroes (can only watch the late night edition) was replaced in Scotland by Scotland playing cricket . Very badly from what I saw . Though that wasn't a big surprise .

Am hoping some friends have taped it, if not I may be back for a catch up.

rattling · 17/08/2007 10:55

And I love the cemetery idea.

I gave up on all the fancy vitamin tablets - I was on boots/sainsbury's own version of pregnacare, but now just take folic acid tablets. I intend to go back to pregnacare-style ones when I get BFP as the boots ones (can't remember about sainsbury's) have fish oils in for baby's brain as well as ginger to help with m/s.

OP posts:
rattling · 17/08/2007 12:33

Can I just say that Asda's pregnancy vits have EXACTLY the same ingredients as pregnacare - love supermarkets, no-one cares if you stand for 20min scrutinising products. 2 for $4 (pounds that is - still haven't changed my keyboard options).

Or you can mix and match with some of it's other cheap vits.

DH and I taking so many it still costs a fortune though

hi girls how are we all?

fi how was the blood test? did you pass out or was it ok?

Have just got back from docs myself - progesterone level is 58, which is a marked improvement on the 8.3 I managed last time, so the good news is that Clomid has worked (in that I have ov'd, now I just need to get pg )

OP posts:
toomuchtimeonline · 17/08/2007 21:13

nomore That's fab news! Really pleased for you!! At last some good news! Hooray!!

gilly rattling hello!

BabyBratt · 17/08/2007 21:28

Nomore I do not take anything personally. I was always happy for people with bfp, but I don't care who you are it still hurts when your still trying I really really understand . I should not have taken a picture but I was really scared it was not real and everyone was asking me about makes and strength of line etc and I was on my own with no one to ask. I have taken 2 tests since.

Anyway I apologise if I was a little insensitive.

Enough about all that, Your test results were positive 58 is a good sign. I promise I will keep everything crossed and say a little prayer at Church. (I am not a fanatic religious person, but the support help me alot recently it was one of those things I did to get a bit of me time when I had been ttc for 7 months)

Fi I had an internal to check my ovaries, its lovely being a woman. Talking of insensitive doctors. I go on holiday next week so I telephoned him just to chat - he told me if I have a bleed not to worry there is nothing I can do I just have to accept I have lost the baby and come back to the docs when I get back!!!!!!!!!!

nomoremagnolia · 18/08/2007 12:21

BB and at your doctor's insensitivity! Really was pleased for you as I know you've been struggling with ttc too, it's the 'oh I'm 6 months pg without even trying and I'm not sure if I want to keep it' people that upset me. Another colleague's daughter is expecting (I should be grateful I work mostly with women who are nearer my Mum's age than mine as otherwise I'd be around the pg ladies instead of their mums!) and another colleague's wife just had a baby (though they are older, and had, I think, all but given up on having kids, so not so of them)

everyone else hi, how are you all?

Ready · 18/08/2007 12:57

Congrats on the 58 nomore yay!!! Upwards and onwards It won't be long now!! It's funny that we both thought of Geek the other day. I hope she is doing well

I have to say, I have been a bit of a snob when it comes to pregnancy vits. I am probably daft, but I only use pregnacare, because there is no added salt, no yeast, not tested on animals, no preservatives, no gelatin or gluten, no sugar, no starch (Rattling (good to see you) I was like you, stood in the aisle scrutinising )- am I being foolish paying double for pregnacare just for these reasons?

Gilly - What does starflower do? With regard to the wellwoman, I know we shouldn't just believe what the packet tells us (look who's talking!) but if they say "all you need for conception" then legally they have to have researched all ingredients. However, I would say, if in doubt, take something different. It's so difficult to know what to do. I was just taking folic acid, but thought the multivit would be a good idea for health in general and not just ttc. How are you?

Rattling - Hope you got to see the repeat of Heroes!? How are you? I know what you mean about the cost of vits, I have DH on selenium and Vit A,C,E and zinc. Bless him. I feel like Nurse Ratched at meal times

Fi - How did you get on? Hope you are ok?

Toomuch... Meant to say, I agree with you about B&S - it is sickly sweet, but it's just so comforting

BabyBratt - Had a sneaky peek at your pic. I cannot wait to even take a pregnancy test, let alone have 2 lines on it. Congrats again!

WHo have I missed?? I can't keep up with who is still here??

fifilou · 19/08/2007 10:33

Hi!

sorry I didnt get back until now, but its so hard with work at the mo!

docs was fine- didnt pass out, had boys with me so it made me behave and toughen up! (maybe I should always take them with me!)

Well, results back in 7-10 days (doc had said 5!) So its just a waiting game now. Ivedecided to just have fun and not think about it. Busy wk ahead, my niece (17) coming to stay and acoming to work with me, builder friend coming to plaster rooms in our house(it makes such a mess boo hoo)big party on sunday to get organised for, so am off in a min to strat sorting bits and bobs.

We are having a mini glastonbury! Our friends are coming and performing on a mini stage! And a BBQ.

fifilou · 19/08/2007 10:35

also.........

Just wanted to say a big thankyou to you al for your support. Its great having you to 'talk' to. No one else seems to understand.

We went out the other night and our friends announced they were having a baby. I was so jealous (didnt show it) and when i told Dh he said, oh dont be like that, be pleased for them!

I AM pleased for them, im just jealous

nomoremagnolia · 19/08/2007 20:11

fifi I totally understand the jealous/pleased thing - you are welcome to unload here anytime, we're all in the same boat and you guys have listened to me moan on enough times before! Don't be too cross about your DH's reaction, men seem to take a much less interested role when ttc than ladies do and he's just trying to say and do the 'right' thing by your friends. I don't think men invest as much emotion in ttc as we do - some men I know haven't even felt part of things until after the baby has been born. Hang in there

Ready How are you? Do what you feel you need to with the vits, it's not going to be the end of the world is it? It was just (for me) another one of those things that was becoming a 'ttc habit' and I tried to break all of those. I wasn't training particularly hard at the gym, or trying to lose weight, or having my long hair cut short, or buying nice new clothes, or changing jobs etc etc just in case I got BFP, DH had a v.v. good bottle of whiskey he was keeping for 'wetting the baby's head' which I persuaded him to start drinking and I was taking so many different vitamins that were supposed to help with ttc and I got all superstious about these things and I felt I'd put my life on hold for this never appearing pg, so I broke all the above 'habits' (except I haven't got my hair cut yet and I still take folic acid)
oops long rant!

everyone else Where are you? Have you all left the country?

OP posts:
BabyBratt · 19/08/2007 20:42

Hi all

Fi you had a perfectly normal reaction. My DH used to have exactly the same reaction.

My DH brother and girlfriend came over last night and ended up staying up getting drunk and loud until 4am. I am sooooooo tired I could have killed DH because he promised me it would not be a late one last night.

They have only just left. DH came home this morning from Tesco and said he'd bought me everything so I could cook the sunday dinner!! seriously how generous is my DH. DH and his brother went out to football. He is now asleep on the sofa having got drunk and eaten a full sunday dinner. Trying to keep my cool!!!!!!!!!!

nomoremagnolia · 19/08/2007 20:48

deep breaths BB
