Oh I must check what the instructions say on these ones. I haven't looked yet. When does everyone test? Is it best to do afternoon and evening?

AF arrived yesterday so it's onto a new cycle for me. We haven't been actively trying until now (just being a bit reckless!) though. I have 1 DS already (3yo). I used Clearblue fertility monitor and preseed when I fell with DS so going to use that again this time but like the idea of having a plan to follow with SMEP. Tbh, I think we basically did a lose version of SMEP with DS before but without realising it was a 'thing'!

I'm CD2 now. Predicted to Ov ~ CD16. Would love some buddies, and I've been following SMEP thread 1 (but remaining quiet!) and you guys seem so lovely!

@DGirl35 The ones I have say to test the same time every day between 11 and 8ish. Or something like that. But like others have said it’s probably good to test more than once incase you miss your surge.

Also don’t forget to limit drinks before you test and not wee for at least an hour before so the urine is concentrated enough to test for the LH.

Welcome to all the newcomers! Smep is kinda hard work, but I found it helpful to follow a plan and know we're doing all we can to get pregnant! Fingers crossed we'll get our bfps soon.

I was thinking of ordering conceiveplus as you can buy it in a tube as use as normal lube, rather than inserting it. But not sure I should go against the preseed tide on this thread!

@Carastarchild sorry to hear your news. I hope it's just a blip (dilute urine?). Fingers crossed xx

@Skyla01 We tried conceive plus before PreSeed and using it as a lube takes away what it's actually supposed to do to aid conception in my opinion. With PreSeed you know you've put it where it needs to be and inserting it really is a doddle.

So CD9 and DP still has a minky cold. Do I just go for it or avoid it, not to be I’ll during my actual FW 🤔. Timing in life is bloody great!

Hello you lovely ladies....thank you so much for the support and I’m so glad the SMEP thread went as positively as I’d hoped and we’ve had some wonderful BFPs and you bunch are honestly so lovely. I just wanted to say to you guys that me and DP have had a chat and I’ve decided (DP not so much because he doesn’t really understand bless him) that we are going to actively stop ttc for now. After not being able to conceive since ds so that’s about 5 years really, I think I got a bit carried away thinking SMEP would work for us personally. I feel like the more I’m trying the more hurt it causes me each month and really I should be grateful for having ds (which I am!) I know I only tried one cycle of SMEP but it just doesn’t seem like it’s written in the stars for me.

I’ve had AF type cramps since yesterday and a bit of discharge so I’m guessing AF will be coming this month, I need to come off these threads on the conception board as I’m driving myself crazy!!

I wish you all well with your BFPs and I really hope the rest of you get yours soon!!

@AllHopeAndNoResults oh I’m so sorry. I’m gutted you won’t be here sharing all your preseed knowledge and positivity. But I completely understand how much this journey messes with your head. I’ve had a few breaks from mumsnet myself. Do t give up hope but most definitely do what’s right for you 💗

So my smep started a day late but it’s started! 🤞🤞🤞

@AllHopeAndNoResults wishing you all the best I really do hope it happens for you when you least expect it this journey is so hard and I know how you feel I have days when I feel like I am missing out times with my daughter longing for another and need to appreciate what I have so I get it completely it - I may have to find peace with it myself soon and focus on living life and accepting it but I'm not there just yet x x good luck to you x we had my dh sperm analysis results back and everything is really good and really high apart from sperm morphology which is 3% when the normal level apparently is 4% 🤷‍♀️ didn't know anything about this but apparently this is the amount of abnormal sperm which can be difficult to fertilise egg if they have funny shaped heads - dh is quite upset about it so I'm hoping it doesn't scupper our SMEP I have planned for this month! I think we are okay as we have the other high numbers on our side so need to try harder and it's only one test and they only test a small amount as there are literally millions so I've told him not to worry! Got some vit c for him and coQ10 which apparently is good for sperm so will give him a try on these for now! Hope everyone is okay today and wish u lots of luck those doing SMEP this month - I'm still getting to grips with netmums so apologies if I'm not tagging people correctly or keeping up with messages I am trying x
