Is anyone near to AF/BFP yet? I still have 10 day Sad

Carley321 · 16/08/2019 11:49

Hello all. Been a little quiet because we’ve been away. But back now.

Finally had my smiley face this morning (typical on the last day of hols mind) but managed every other day up to it and this morning. So 2 days to go now then the one for luck 😊.

I’m a little gutted that I have a hen party tomoz so will have to have a drink and worried it will do something to harm my chances 😬.

How is everyone? I haven’t been able to read through all the pages I’ve missed. @AllHopeAndNoResults not long left of the wait for you now 🤞. I’m dreading it!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 16/08/2019 12:11

Hello ladies.

Just a little update, I know it’s really early but I couldn’t resist and tested today at 10dpo and got a bfn which I knew anyway and going back on my notes all I’m having now is in line with AF from last month so I don’t think it’s my month but I had some really positive news from my gp.

When I first went to the dr for all the tests my progesterone was 0.8 and it has to be 15 to be normal and I had very low vit d, my last blood test I just had has come back with my vit d levels are back to normal and my progesterone was a 14.5!!! So AC defo helped. She has said we do one more blood test and an ultrasound on my womb and then she will refer me for chlomid BUT she said my chances are very much the same as most women now and there’s no reason why I wouldn’t be able to fall pregnant soon.

I am so happy and really pleased because I feel like it’s now just a matter of time. I want to cry at how happy I am with the results 😭😭

How is everyone else?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 16/08/2019 12:33

@Carley321 don’t worry about a drink, so many people conceive without knowing and still drink until they get a BFP just enjoy yourself. There’s no point worrying about it and causing yourself stress.
I know I didn’t conceive this month but I’m happy to try again after my news from the GP today so I’m just waiting for AF now. What day are you on?

@tinyole how are you getting on? I see your other thread and it’s lovely that you started something positive to keep you thinking positively. It’s hard to see so much struggle and not let it affect you.
Did you see my update about my progesterone? It seems like AC really is working for me I hope it has the same affect for you 🤞

Carley321 · 16/08/2019 12:43

@AllHopeAndNoResults that’s fantastic news 👏 I’m so pleased for you. Now you can move forward and think positively for your next chance 🤞. Brilliant!
Yea your right plus the stress of sitting there and lying to all of my friends about not drinking would be shit anyway. I’m cycle day 17 so 1 day shorter than last month. Looking positive for my cycles finally settling down after a year bit makes me feel better about ttc knowing my body better and having an around about time when Ov is due. So 🤞 it keeps up.

So glad your feeling more positive 😁

AllHopeAndNoResults · 16/08/2019 12:49

@carley321 thank you! I’ve read loads saying that levels need to be 30 to indicate ovulation but my GP clearly said 15 is normal, either way I’m getting there slowly and looking forward to trying again. I feel it in my bones that I’ll conceive soon 🤞

I’m glad you agree that you shouldn’t worry. This process is stressful enough there’s no point adding to it. Hopefully it’ll be your month too 🤞 if we relax a bit I think that has to do some good.

mamansnet · 16/08/2019 13:05

Hi everyone, have been lurking on this thread so hope you don't mind if I join!

We've been ttc#2 on and off since jan 2018. I had an MMC in October (conceived during an off period ironically - just after I'd started a 2 year uni course!) but I'm nearly 38 and we both had fertility problems diagnosed while ttc last time, so we're going for it.

This is my first cycle with SMEP. I used the internet cheapie OPKs and got positives last Thursday night (CD15) and 2 more on Friday. So I'm guessing I ovulated around Saturday. We DTD every day from CD13, which I upped to twice a day from CD15 to CD17 so hope it was enough Grin

Poor DH!! When I jokingly asked if he had anything left in his balls he said 'just dregs' French humour

Anyway, since then I've had a bit of a light tingling feeling in my boobs that I can't say I've ever noticed before. With DS, i had really sore and aching boobs at 7 weeks, which is when I got my first ever BFP. I think I'm just symptom spotting tbh, maybe it's just part of my normal cycle, but fingers crossed!

Might try preseed next month, as no doubt we won't be lucky enough to get a BFP on our first SMEP attempt. Does anyone know if you can you buy it in Boots/Superdrug?

Thanks for getting this fR, didn't mean to write such a long post! And good luck to everyone in the tww Thanks

Carley321 · 16/08/2019 13:17

I have faith in us @AllHopeAndNoResults we won’t be much longer before we get our bfp!

It’s a plan nice and relaxed we will be. I’m going to start you tubing yoga on Monday too. To help and to keep the circulation flowing. I feel good about it lol. Maybe il do some meditation too. Who knows what really helps but I’ll give it a go!

DGirl35 · 16/08/2019 13:30

Thats fantastic news @AllHopeAndNoResults. Great to hear you're feeling positive about your next cycle if AF arrives.

Ye i wouldn't worry about having a few drinks @Carley321 We cant put our life on hold. I've a party to go to on Sat too so i'm going to relax and enjoy a few drinks. Hopefully taking my mind off TTC

I'm on CD 14, my OPK's are getting darker but nowhere near a Peak yet. Do you guys hold off on drinking water before POAS and if you do, how long do you hold off for or does it matter?

Welcome @mamansnet. I ordered my preseed at Boots online because i couldn't get it instore but I live in Ireland so they might have it in your local store. So you're in the TWW? That's exciting How long are your cycles usually?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 16/08/2019 13:39

@mamansnet welcome, sorry to hear you’ve been struggling but it’s great you’re still giving it your all! Our poor OH’s will be drained after all this dtd 😂

I got my preseed in store at boots so I know some stores do have it!

One thing I will say isn’t though, try not to question all the aches and pains and tingles because once you are ttc you are more hyper aware of all the little twinges your body makes and it can drive you crazy! I write a symptom diary and it’s been very helpful because a lot of pg symptoms I get are very much just AF and if I hadn’t have written it down I wouldn’t have remembered. Anyway welcome to the thread and hopefully we can be a support to you!!

@Carley321 I’m feeling very hopeful about us too and I just feel like we will all get our BFP this year.

@Dgirl53 I never really thought about not drinking and I still got my pos opk but this was my first month proper tracking so I might do it differently next cycle.

We are all going to have highs and lows with this process but we are getting quite a few ladies join the thread now so hopefully we have enough support going round and there will always be an answer to any questions!! 🤞🤞🤞 for everyone at every stage of their cycle

DGirl35 · 16/08/2019 14:17

It's just it was getting darker this morning and i did one about 12 and the line was lighter. Was wondering was it to do with the amount of water i drank Confused

mamansnet · 16/08/2019 14:19

Thanks for the welcome guys! You're all fab.

@DGirl35 we're going to Dublin for the day next week so I won't bother looking for preseed while I'm there 😂 We only have a little Boots here so so I'll probably just get it off Amazon.

@AllHopeAndNoResults you're right about the symptom spotting, I'm trying to be rational but not doing very well! I'm normally pretty in tune with my body (got a touch of endo so I get ovulation pain as well as period pain, lucky me) but I honestly can't say I've ever noticed this tingling before. I've looked up on Google to see if it could be just a normal part of a cycle, but not sure. Or maybe it's to do with the fact I can still get colostrum from my boobs nearly 2 years after I stopped bf!

Also had one single pinprick of blood on the toilet paper on Saturday but that was probably just ovulation rather than implantation. Don't usually get that though.

I'm CD23 today and am having a bit of what feels like pre-period cramps, although this is probably due to having a bit lot too much wine last night Blush my cycles are usually 28 days but I've had 24, 25 and 26 in the last few months. My egg reserve was found to be very low when ttc#1 so I'm afraid I could be approaching the menopause and getting shorter cycles. That's another reason why we're going for it now, even though I've got another few months to go on my course.

Hope those of you who were on at the start of the thread all get your BFPs soon!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 16/08/2019 14:19

@DGirl35 it probably was because you drank before hand tbh. I’d not drink for a while then take another one

Makingawish · 16/08/2019 14:20

@Carley321 Yay for your static smiley!! 🤗 its a real milestone and takes all the questioning out of is it/isn't it positive?! I wouldn't worry about a drink this early on if I was you! I drank in my TWW and even if you do fall pregnant, the placenta doesn't develop that early anyway so nothing can be passed on.

@mamansnet hahah just 'dregs' made me laugh! Good luck with SMEP! We caught it cycle #1 so 🤞

Skyla01 · 16/08/2019 14:21

@Carley321 what is tubing yoga?! Looks like you're getting on well with smep this month. Ovulating on cd17 sounds really good, you're cycle is well within normal length. I wouldn't worry about have a few drinks. A one-off won't have any effect on your chances.

@AllHopeAndNoResults those test results sound really good! And I hope that gives you a really positive outlook going forward. If this isn't your month hope that AF comes and goes quickly so you can get on with a new cycle.

Welcome to newbies!

Makingawish · 16/08/2019 14:21

@DGirl35 I read that they say to limit your liquid intake for the 2 hours before taking your OPK

OP posts:
Makingawish · 16/08/2019 14:22

@AllHopeAndNoResults I'm just going to say YAY to you again just so it doesn't look like I've completely ignored your post 😄🤗💜

AllHopeAndNoResults · 16/08/2019 14:23

@mamansnet I can understand your frustration and confusion. I also got a tiny spot of blood at 6dpo and I know I ovulated before so I was hoping it was IB I’m on 10dpo and still negative so it’s looking doubtful, I also have never had this. The last two cycles my boobs have been really sore and I’ve never usually got that either. I think it’s probably the hormone levels balancing themselves out but I’m hoping you get your BFP 🤞

AllHopeAndNoResults · 16/08/2019 14:24

@Makingawish 😂😂😂 thank you! What a lovely surprise 😉

AllHopeAndNoResults · 16/08/2019 14:24

@Skyla01 thank you and I do feel positive so I’m looking forward to the next cycle I just hope AF is kind to me this month 😒

Carley321 · 16/08/2019 14:33

@DGirl35 yes the ones I use you need to
Limit liquids for 1 hour at least before. And 2 hours without a wee altogether I think.

@AllHopeAndNoResults me too. This is our year ladies 😊. It’s nice to have such a lovely support group Isn’t it.

@Makingawish I know. I bloody love that smiley little face 😁. All we do is bloody wait in this process though isn’t it.

So your right we can hardly put our lives on hold... I’m slowly learning my lesson on this after a year of ttc.

@Skyla01 I just put a yoga video
Off YouTube on the tv and give it a go 🤣.

@AllHopeAndNoResults I feel like since my cycles have been shorter Iv started to have more symptoms. So could be hormones normalising.... all in all good signs for whatever the outcome is 🤞

DGirl35 · 16/08/2019 14:36

Thanks everyone, I will try another later with no liquids beforehand :)

AllHopeAndNoResults · 16/08/2019 14:48

@Carley321 I might try YouTube yoga. Any suggestions??

Yeah I think it really must be our hormones normalising

Skyla01 · 16/08/2019 15:01

@Carley321 ah got you! I try and go to yoga classes but YouTube is a great source to do stuff in your living room. I'm also enjoying getting back in to yoga.

Did my first cb opk this cycle so just a blank circle. Hope to get my flashing smiley soon. Who knows when static smiley will appear, was cd25 last cycle so might be in for a wait.

Sophieb15 · 16/08/2019 15:17

@AllHopeAndNoResults In the last 7 months I've had every symptoms under the sun and it turned out to be AF so It's so frustrating. I'm here now at 4DPO and i've backache and nausea and a very very dull ache down low in my tummy. Last month 5 days before AF came i'd really sore boobs nipples hurt when I showered(i remember having this when I was about 6 weeks with DD so got excited it was a good sign) I'd Nausea for 3 days then 2 days of backache and cramping then AF came. Other months then were different.

@Carley321 I tried the Yoga on Youtube for TTC for a month it's very relaxing and you get a good stretch.
