Blimey Tessiebear. No chance for a rest then.

Cobweb · 23/09/2004 06:07

Girls I am shaking like a leaf and need some advice.

Just done a pregnancy test and got a BFP

Didn't tell DH I was going to test this morning and after the miscarriage I know I am only around 11=14 DPO and don't want to get all excited in case something goes wrong.

Got a bit party this weekend and now am going to have to find an excuse not the drink.

Thanks for listening to me ramble this morning.

Hope everyone is ok xxx

Wifeof · 23/09/2004 07:49

Let me be the first to congratulate you - well done!!!

(Presumably you've told your dh???)

For the party - can you not drive so you've the perfect excuse?

Have a great day absorbing your news!

CP3 · 23/09/2004 07:56

Congrats Cobweb, i can imagine your smiling from ear to ear. Take care and use the im driving excuse. Well done

CP3 · 23/09/2004 07:59

Can i do an early predicter test today if my af is due on sun?

Wifeof · 23/09/2004 08:08

I used a First Response this week on my cd 28 and it was BFN but I didn't use first wee!
With my DS I only got a pos result at about cd33 ish (there again tests were less sophisticated then - 10 years ago!).

First Respose claim to be able to detect hcg 3 days before you're due so it's probably worth a go if you can use 1st wee - or is it too late for that?

Good luck.....

CP3 · 23/09/2004 08:10

Too late for first wee. I was weeing all day yesterday but i hink i do when af due anyway. Ill try and hold out till sun as dont think ive fallen this month anyway

Cobweb · 23/09/2004 08:11

CP3 my period isn't due till Sunday and I did it this morning with my first wee.

I haven't told my DH yet.......I know you probably think its weird but I want to do it again after to weekend to be positively sure and then I will do it with him, although I don't know how long I can keep it to myself

Driving isn't an excuse as we are staying there and not the antibiotic reason as its my cousin and we are very close and she would know if I was on tablets or anything.

Help xxxx

CP3 · 23/09/2004 08:15

How about drinking a orange and pretending vodka is in it or lemonade and pretending a gin is in it as gin and tonic? Can you get away with that!

Or say you had a heavy night on the drink previously and are still feeling rough from that.

I can understand you not telling your dp straight away, i was like that. Its a great secret that you just want to keep hugging yourself iyswim. Im so pleased for you, have you been trying long?

Wifeof · 23/09/2004 08:16

We are totally honoured to know before your dh!! I bet you won't be able to keep it from him!

Re. party - what about pretending you're ill - I'm sure you could think of something suitable that won't make your rellies suspicious?

Wifeof · 23/09/2004 08:18

...in fact won't you have to tell your dh before the party so he can backup your excuse??

Geordie · 23/09/2004 08:59

Many congratulations cobweb..thinking of you and dh...bet you'll be bursting to tell him when you next see him!!

hope this is the beginning of a very healthy 9 months ......and happy beyond!!

MommyD · 23/09/2004 09:32

Yippppeeeee. I am on CD1 today!!!! Am I mad, you say???? No I got AF this morning and dh and I decided three months back to start trying for #3 on this cycle. We had a 'scare' back then and when we started to get used to the idea of being pg (AF was just very late) we decided to give it a couple of months and start trying for another wee lad after AF arrived in September. Flo arrived this morning - only time I have EVER been happy to see her (awful b**y woman)!
ds1 took 7 months to conceive and ds2 1 month. I am hoping it will take somewhere in between!
Good luck to all of you!

Tessiebear · 23/09/2004 09:40

Cobweb Congratulations!!!! A few years ago when just pg with DS1 i had a really big night out planned and didnt want anyone to know i was pg. I said i had just had a sickness bug/ food poisoning and although i was ok to go out i did not fancy a drink as i was finding it hard to keep anything down.
MommyD i also am ttc no3 and already have 2 DS's aged 6 and nearly 4 (we too have had a couple of close shaves and that has made us decide to go for it!)

MommyD · 23/09/2004 09:41

...oops so excited at the prospect of ttc didn't read the recent posts.... CONGRATS Cobweb!

MommyD · 23/09/2004 09:42

Tessiebear - my dss are 1 and 2. That's it - you are now CONVINCED that I am completely nuts!!
X

MrsWednesday · 23/09/2004 09:43

Congratulations Cobweb!!! Fantastic news Wishing you a healthy, happy and stressfree 9 months.

The only excuse I could think of for not drinking is to have some kind of pretend illness - an upset stomach or something like that. Or as CP3 said, just pretend to drink something alcoholic.

Are you testing again soon Wifeof? Your symptoms sound so promising!

Congratulations on AF arriving MommyD! All the very best of luck on this cycle.

I'm on CD17 and constantly monitoring my body for pg symptoms...I feel like I'm wishing my life away but I want it to be next week so I can start thinking about testing. Sigh.

MINNIE1 · 23/09/2004 09:46

Cobweb,
Congrads Cobweb, i was looking so forward to someone haveing a BFP, i cannot imagine how excited/nervous you feel...
On the no drinking try, sore bones not feeling well think i coming down with the flu.. always works for me..
Best of luck Cobweb and relax until monday, Will you do another monday or b4?

Tessiebear · 23/09/2004 09:46

MommyD - you took the words right out of my mouth -NO not at all - there are people who will think i am mad when i announce i am pg again because they know how much hard work it is already. I just think i would look back and regret not having a third in years to come IYKWIM I was one of two and i would have loved more brothers and sisters

Hulababy · 23/09/2004 09:47

Congratulations cobweb; fab news

Hulababy · 23/09/2004 09:50

CD16 and still no noticable temperature shift. Other signs are kind of right though so....

MommyD · 23/09/2004 09:59

Tessiebear - I was one of three and so have always thought I would have three kids. I have just turned 35 so feel I want to do it sooner rather than later. I know it will be hard and I will have three kids aged three and under, but I love the chaos that kids bring to my life. If we end up with three lads (which I fully expect - my dh doesn't seem to make girls!) then they will be so close in age and hopefully enjoy all the same things at the same time! (well that's the plan anyway) x

Geordie · 23/09/2004 10:02

cd 17 here...no temp rise yet either...but right signs too...just gotta keep bding until the temp rise

BeckiF · 23/09/2004 10:03

Well done and huge congratulations Cobweb!
