Anyone else right at the start of a new cycle? I could do with some cycle buddies.

I'm 32, cycle 5 and TTC first baby. Regular cycles of 27/28 days.

Feeling bummed today - I really thought this month could be our month after all the DTD! Had my first TTC cry yesterday. Is that pathetic after just 5 months?!

@Peachyx2505 I haven't put in OPKs yet. I didn't actually get a positive one, only very close. I didn't realise that I should have been testing a couple of times a day at that point. I also don't get a lot of CM so that's hard to measure. I will see if I can find the settings to see how it's calculated it. Chart below!

@blackfriars sounds like you have DTD plenty so hopefully you have still caught it. Someone just posted on another thread that they only got 9 days of static never the flashing but still got there BFP. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Had some cramps today which i normally get when ovulation happens so starting the TWW today.

Dweebette · 04/06/2019 21:29

@Peachyx2505 still no positive, another negative today and the control line was also really faded so maybe I'm drinking too much water. Or maybe I haven't ovulated yet, it's not unusual for me to have cycles of over 35 days (currently CD 22 which would be a 36 day cycle if I ovulate today, pretty standard). I've had cramps today and a lot of EWCM so maybe it is happening today after all, who knows. It's going to be a long wait for AF / BFP!
Honestly so reassured that so many of us are in the same boat, totally confused and there seems to be a lot of guesswork! Makes me feel less alone in this minefield!

Skyla01 · 05/06/2019 10:20

@dweebette that's good news if you have ewcm- sounds like you might be ovulsting soon. I had a tiny bit of ewcm yesterday, not sure if it's significant. Maybe I'm ovulating late too, currently cd21.
Will be interesting to see when AF arrives, and might help me plan for next month. Will be delighted if some of us get bfp through the confusion! @blackfriars how are you getting on?

blackfriars · 05/06/2019 10:27

@Peachyx2505 No I was only testing once a day, so hopefully the surge was short and I just missed it. Fingers crossed!

@Wishing56 - that is reassuring to hear - thank you! These ClearBlue tests might be a bit of a false economy tbh - I feel like you pay the extra for the certainty but actually there's lots of confusion surrounding them too!!

@Skyla01 - I'm doing ok today thanks. I've stopped testing now and think I must be halfway through the TWW window now already tbh! AF is due on the 13th, so the earliest I could test would be Friday....I was going to try to hold off testing but we are moving house next week and I have a few HIIT classes booked at the gym so it might not be a bad idea to test and see if I should lay off lifting lots of heavy boxes and doing vigorous exercise....(any excuse to test!!) I will probably give in and test on Sunday morning I reckon.

Will you guys test early do you think or just wait for AF? xx

OP posts:
Wishing56 · 05/06/2019 15:09

My app says AF due 18th. I normally dont test early.
I am due out on Saturday 15th for a day of drinking so was thinking of testing that morning but OH made a point of if its negative will I be really disappointed and sad all day. If it is positive then I will struggle to keep a secret. not sure what to do 🤔

Louise190 · 05/06/2019 15:24

@Wishing56 I'm in a similar situ; I am due 11th and have a gin school session on 8th. I am not sure what to do!?

blackfriars · 05/06/2019 15:28

Oh that is a tricky one @Wishing56 and @Louise190.....what about testing the day before your events - a FRER should still give you a reliable result (supposedly!) - and then you'd have a day to recover from the outcome either way? x

OP posts:
Skyla01 · 05/06/2019 17:06

I think I'm going to hold out for a few weeks. I don't really know when I ovulated so not sure when AF is due. Don't want to get a bfn, I find AF is a lesser blow. Will test in a few weeks of no sign of AF. Might try OPKs next cycle to give me a better idea of what's going on. Will try not to over-indulge with alcohol before then!

Dweebette · 05/06/2019 19:06

@Skyla01 I'm with you, i can't take another BFN so I'm going to hold out for AF. Flo app says I'm due on 16th so going to hold out to 22nd which would be CD 40 if I don't go insane before then. I'm going to a wedding the week after that so need to know if I'm good to down my sorrows lol

Skyla01 · 05/06/2019 20:30

@dweebette hopefully we don't get tempted to test early! But when I read about people having CP on hear it is always sad, so would like to avoid that myself if possible. AF is a pretty reliable & free pregnancy test in some respects.

mrssunshinexxx · 05/06/2019 20:50

Hi ladies would love to join I think I'm a little behind as cd 7
ttc 1
cycle 2
Just using flow and ovia apps for now they give different days for ovulation but just planning on dtd every other day and hoping for the best this month fertile week falls when we are on holiday so I'm feeling hopeful because my dh works offshore so obviously not always around x
I also am a love island addict Grin

Dweebette · 05/06/2019 22:07

@mrssunshinexxx welcome to the thread of unlimited ovulation confusion lol

Wishing56 · 06/06/2019 06:59

@skyla01 thats a very good point about CP.
I havent tested early for last few months as I hate getting BFN.
Apps are now saying AF due 19th (CD34). I am going to try and hold out until 22nd (CD37). In the past 18months AF has always arrived by CD36.

Going to get OH to hide my pregnancy tests (i have 50 cheapies)

Wishing56 · 06/06/2019 08:10

@mrssunshinexxx welcome! I use Ovia and Flo too. Mine always used to show different ovulation dates (a week different!)
I have used OPKs this month and put the info in both so they are now at the same dates (give or take a day).

mrssunshinexxx · 06/06/2019 08:26

@Wishing56 hello x
Mine are only 2 days different so just going to dtd every other day and hope for the best

Wishing56 · 06/06/2019 08:35

@mrssunshinexxx sounds like a good plan!

The TTC journey can be so hard at time but nice to have you MN ladies to 'chat' too and realise we are not alone in this crazy journey!

Peachyx2505 · 06/06/2019 11:14

@Louise190 I would say according to your temps fertility friend is about right... as I guess I'd say you ovulated anywhere between days 9 and 11. Keeping everything crossed 🤞 xx

@Dweebette ewcm is a fab sign! Hopefully you've caught ovulation this month xx

@blackfriars I won't test at all. I'd rather wait for AF to show. Now I know my luteal phase is that bit longer is rather wait... wasted much money on tests!!

Welcome @mrssunshinexxx I too use a couple of different apps, WomanLog and Fertility Friend. Since temping and opk last cycle my apps have aligned as I'm able to set them up correctly, entering the right average cycle length and luteal phase. My womanlog has about 7 years of data 😂 although I only really use the last years worth as I had tumour/cysts removed from my ovaries and an ovary and tube removed xx

Hope everyone isn't finding it too stressful xx

Louise190 · 06/06/2019 12:58

Thanks @Peachyx2505 how are you getting on?

Peachyx2505 · 06/06/2019 16:31

I have absolutely no idea! This cycle is probably a write off. I should have ovulated by now but who knows.

My mil is very poorly (has been for a while now) and went into a local hospice yesterday, so we've been occupied with that which has taken my mind off ttc and the dreaded tww.

I keep checking in though as I'm sure we will have some bfps xx

Skyla01 · 06/06/2019 20:43

Is anyone due AF soon?
My app says I'm due on 13th but not sure if that's accurate. Definitely not going to test until after that.
Hope everyone is doing ok!
@peachyx2505 sorry to hear about your MIL

Louise190 · 06/06/2019 22:33

@Peachyx2505 I'm sorry to hear about MIL. It's tough going through that and having to be strong and supportive at the same time. Sounds like this cycle has been a bit random for most people!

@Skyla01 I'm due 12th or 13th, depending on which app you're looking at! I have had mild cramps for the past 4/5 days which is a bit sooner than normal. I'm away this weekend so that will distract me from testing for a bit but I'm sure I'll obsess as soon as I'm home!

Louise190 · 07/06/2019 06:04

9DPO today and had a drop in temp this morning. Trying not to obsess and think too much in to it! Thank god I'm going away for the weekend, I'll be grateful for the distraction!

blackfriars · 07/06/2019 09:50

Welcome @mrssunshinexxx!

You ladies have inspired me - I think I'm actually going to try to hold out and not test - I just imagined getting a BFN v getting AF and I think you're right, the latter is definitely more bearable for some reason. I am symptom spotting already I have to admit...felt like I was majorly PMS-ing and also ravenously hungry yesterday so felt like I was out, but who knows! I dreamt last night I thought I was pregnant....not that I was pregnant, just that I thought I was! Seems like I can't even be confident about it even in my dreams!

I'm due AF on 12/13th (so snap @Skyla01 and @Louise190!) Due to move house on the 13th with the help of the in-laws so could make for a very stressful day, especially if AF arrives. Meant to be exchanging on the house today - please cross your fingers for me!!

@peachyx2505 really sorry about your MIL - that sounds really tough. Hope you and your DH are holding up ok xx
