TTC buddies needed DESPERATELY

I desperately need some TTC buddies. We've just started trying for no.3 and we haven't told anyone. I'm bursting but with no one to talk to. I realise this makes me sound like a total sap

Can I join? Not officially trying YET - we're staying in the first week of May - but I've been obsessively taking vitamins for a couple of months now. I've always been a worrier so I'm pretty much expecting there to be problems. My poor husband is having to deal with my neuroses before we've even started ttc!

MountAbora · 02/04/2019 21:05

Heya,
Can I join?
Came off pill on 7th March & no AF yet so symptom spotting like mad even though I know it’s so unlikely!
I want to tell everyone as feel like we have been waiting a long time to start ttc (I’m finishing a Msc & we had decided to wait until it was almost over) but it’s just not what you do.
Nice to have people to speak to about it!

MrsB899 · 02/04/2019 21:14

@Hall84 not too late at all it's so lovely to have people to talk to without telling anyone if that makes sense 😆
@Lauraloop1516 we always said we'd try after our holiday in June but DH caved and said sod it let's just go for it. I've been off my pill since March last year but actively trying now. I'm so excited I could burst.
It's lovely to have so to talk to TTC can be a lonely place when you can't speak to anyone in real life and I just know my family will be constantly asking "are you pregnant yet"

@MountAbora welcome lovey I came off my pill last March and it took a while for my periods to get back to normal but on the flip side my friend stopped hers and almost instantly fell pregnant. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@mrsb899 - we're waiting to try until our holiday in May! Grin We considered waiting another month so we can properly enjoy the all inclusive, but I just can't wait. I've been wanting to start ttc for a long time now, but it's just never been right in terms of employment /mat leave until now.

Lauraloop1516 · 02/04/2019 21:27

I've also found it really hard to not spout off about baby plans to anyone - DH really wants to keep it quiet (for obv reasons!). I honestly have no idea how couples keep it a secret when they are actually pregnant. I'm pants at lying and wear my heart on my sleeve so I would find it very difficult!

Hall84 · 02/04/2019 21:30

Definitely @MrsB899! It's TTC #1 for us and I don't think I realised just how much I didn't know 😂 Google really doesn't help with all the post-implant removal symptoms doesn't help. Are you going anywhere nice on hols?

hopeandpray1988 · 02/04/2019 21:34

@MrsB899 thanks! I'll try those vitamins next to shorten my cycle if needed!

@Robbo93 it was a horrible feeling! We can start this next cycle together but seeing as my cycles are longer you'll be ahead of me soon! Ha

@dizzy85 good luck on your tww! It's a long wait isn't it! I was gutted yesterday when AF arrived. Ended my tww abruptly!

Robbo93 · 02/04/2019 21:36

@Lauraloop1516 I'm taking a break from TTC this month (if it happens, if happens!) but actively trying again in may. We've got too many birthdays in January so want to avoid it if we can!

I never knew there was so much to TTC either. I thought as soon as I had unprotected sex with no contraception I was at risk of pregnancy... clearly not 😂 never realised there was this 6 fertile days yada yada yada... felt so dumb lol but I've now done plenty of research x

Robbo93 · 02/04/2019 21:41

@hopeandpray1988 yes very strange long cycles id deffo speak to your doctor!

I had no periods at all with contraception. I'm now on my 3rd very heavy bleed! It's so horrible I feel so dirty (even tho I know it's not).
I've been using OPK's and I think March was the first time I ovulated since finishing the pill in January so must be my hormones finally regulating themselves. This is the first bleed that has clots in it too x

dizzy85 · 02/04/2019 21:44

@hopeandpray1988 ah I'm sorry your af arrived, mine actually came 3 days early last month..it is so frustrating! wishing you lots of luck for the next one. Thankyou, almost halfway through, trying to keep positive 😄

Hall84 · 02/04/2019 21:48

I feel like I have a lot of research left to do and that I'm very out of sync with my cycle at the moment having been on the implant for so long. Any advice gratefully received! We've left it because of moving, work etc etc and despite work being more unstable than ever have figured that things won't run to whatever timetable we'd like

hopeandpray1988 · 02/04/2019 21:57

@dizzy85 mine came 4 days early and shortened my long 48 day cycle from last time down to 44 this time. I'm hoping to get my bfp but if I don't, I'd settle for shortening my cycle by 4 or more days again this time round.

@Robbo93 my periods have been heavier since stopping bc so I'm hoping it's a positive sign that my body is producing more hormones and gearing up ready for an egg to stick! 🤞🏻

MrsB899 · 02/04/2019 21:58

@Lauraloop1516 I kept saying ok enjoy your holiday then get back and game on but I just can't wait so my husband said as long as you're ok not drinking (it's my 30th while we're away too) then let's go for it and now I wanna shout it from the rooftops
@Hall84 we're only going to Spain for a week for my birthday I desperately want to be pregnant by then
@Robbo93 I've had 2 children before and never knew there was so much to it. I've never tracked ovulation and cycles etc. It's all so confusing.
I can't wait to tell my mum I def won't be able to wait until I'm 12 weeks gone like some do. My brother and his wife had to have ivf and they didn't take it well at all when I was pregnant with my son so I know I will get some grief from then if I announce we're trying🤦🏻‍♀️

Are any of you using a cycle tracking app? I started with flo but found it to be out by quite a few days. I downloaded Ovia a couple of months ago which has been really good

@robbo93 - just out of interest, what's the significance of clots?

Mrs71 · 03/04/2019 01:06

Hi 👋🏼 Do you mind if I join? Ttc first baby since sept time! Sounds so silly but I really didn’t think it would take this long, I’m also the most impatient person ever!! x

Mrs71 · 03/04/2019 01:09

I haven’t told anyone we’re ttc either as I can’t deal with the questions. Nice to have people to speak to. x

LuRose · 03/04/2019 05:41

Like a lot of you ladies we were going to leave it until after our holiday in May (we're staying in a vineyard for two of the nights!) but I'm far too impatient and to be honest I I think there will always be something in the coming up where we'll think, let's just wait until that's happened. I'm 32, first time trying and I just don't want to leave it any longer. How long has it taken for your periods to regulate. Mine were bang on for the first 2 months then suddenly had a 40 day cycle!! I thought they were meant to get more regular, not less!

StarlightIntheNight · 03/04/2019 06:51

I am using femometer to track my cycle and my bbt. I am happy with it. Very easy to use.

Robbo93 · 03/04/2019 07:06

@Lauraloop1516 I had 3 days of light pink spotting 7-10DPO then came on really heavy Monday with clots (look a bit like jelly/jam lol) at least 1 on every tampax ... not huge, looked like string at about 1cm long .. had them through to yesterday but seem to have stopped now I'm getting lighter x

MrsB899 · 03/04/2019 08:16

@Mrs71 welcome lovely. Fingers crossed for you x

OP posts:
Mrs71 · 03/04/2019 17:42

Thank you @MrsB899! AF is due in 4 days time hope she stays away!! x

Hall84 · 03/04/2019 19:22

Very much looking forward to my cycle getting back to normal, whatever that is, so I can at least try to track. So many of the symptoms people seem to complain of after the implant being removed could be very easily confused but I don't know how long they're supposed to last. The apps sound like they might help though, especially if it's easy to use.
It sounds silly but people outside of our immediate family have been saying, 'it'll be you next' for so long that having them know we're even trying would just be too much.

Robbo93 · 03/04/2019 21:26

Strangest cycle for me, started the light spotting 6DPO, heavy bleeding (with clots!) on 10&11DPO.. and practically finished 'period' on CD3 (12DPO)

My last 2 bleeds were 6 days long & heavy up to CD4. (I remember them being like this before i went on contraception too).

So confused!
