New thread for July- Clomid takers, Clomid queries, Clomid successes.....

NOW, WHERE ARE YOU?

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 23/08/2007 17:31

I had a scan before being prescribed Clomid - I think they were checking for PCOS - but have had nothing since except day 21 blood test (which came back at 58, yay!). I could be producing 6 eggs for all they know! (though I have no side-effects on 50mg Clomid, so it's unlikely that my ovaries are over-stimulated) DH quite likes the idea of having twins...

tigerschick · 23/08/2007 18:06

I am guessing that 58 is good - congratulations
I've never had 21 day bloods, they went straight for the scan!
lol at your dh liking the idea of twins - mine did until I pointed out how much of a handful dd is, and then told him to double it and still keep dd! He went slightly pale

nomoremagnolia · 23/08/2007 18:16

a level of 30 is a 'pass'

lulu1414 · 23/08/2007 18:21

Hi everyone. I also had a Day 21 test, but I was never told the results. I guess they just thought since I got AF then I was ov... Sounds like we have all had different experiences!

nomoremagnolia · 23/08/2007 18:24

Getting AF is no sign of ov'ing - I had regular AF (28-31 day cycles) for 18 months before finding out I didn't ov.

nomoremagnolia · 23/08/2007 18:24

My first day 21 test was 8.3 in a regular 28 day cycle

tigerschick · 23/08/2007 18:33

Wow - it certainly looks like the Clomid is working for you nomore!! That's good to hear - and a 50 dose, like me. But you aren't taking it for PCOS are you? I think that I'll need to be upped in my dose soon. What are the 'bigger' amounts?

nomoremagnolia · 23/08/2007 18:39

Have not got PCOS or any other 'reason' why I'm not ov'ing. Having said that the diagnosis of not ov'ing was only from blood tests from one cycle, so i'm still not convinced I never ov, but am willing to try anything now TBH. Dh has a low % of properly formed sperm, but he produces lots of quantity, so doc wasn't too worried about that. I think doc is trying me on Clomid before going down the IUI/IVF route (it's all about the £££)

nomoremagnolia · 23/08/2007 18:40

they increase by 50mg each time up to max of 250 (I think, though it might be 200)

flosspot · 24/08/2007 09:33

Morning all-

Nothing to report- CD29 (I think).....

hello Lulu- how are you doing? When's you next appt?

OP posts:
lulu1414 · 24/08/2007 09:43

Hi Floss- hmm.. CD29 any symptoms of AF? How long were your other 3 cycles? How are you feeling about things? I am on CD19 and absolutley nothing to report.

My next appt is Sept 6th and that is when I hope we will be able to sort out surgery. I'm now feeling like I just want to sort that out as I really feel like something happened during the ERPC that messed me up physically (but then I second guess everything!). I will be on my last clomid cycle then, so I just wanted to make sure things weren't delayed.

lulu1414 · 25/08/2007 11:16

Hope everyone is well and having a good long weekend.

tigerschick · 25/08/2007 17:58

Enjoying the sunshine here! Tho I got stung by nettles when we went blackberrying earlier
Didn't realise it was the bank holiday until yesterday That's what you get when I'm a SAHM and dh works pretty much everyday regardless!

lulu1414 · 28/08/2007 10:24

Morning all- how is everyone? Floss- where are you at now? I am CD23 and have the horrid feeling I didn't OV this time. Usually I get really a really sore left boob- one lump after I ov and I have nothing this time.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

nh101 · 28/08/2007 10:55

Hi everyone! I finally started my period yesterday (almost 12 weeks since last one!) after a course of progesterone so now I am on CD2 and took my first Clomid this morning.

I am shitting myself!

It has been just over five months since my miscarriage and I am just beginning to feel "over" it and now I might be putting myself back on that roller coaster again.

I am temping to see if I can pinpoint ovulation. And am a bit scared cos I am not going to be monitored so fear ending up PG with six.

I am mad busy at work so may not be able to check in very often but will keep you posted with any news. Good luck to everyone else.

lulu1414 · 28/08/2007 11:04

Well done on the AF, nh101 and good luck with the clomid. I could be wrong but I thought temping was tough with clomid. You should ov 5-9 days after your last pill.

nh101 · 28/08/2007 11:38

I didn't know that Lulu. My doc said it was still worth temping - will bear that in mind, though. Will use OPK sticks as well this month. Thanks for info.

lulu1414 · 28/08/2007 12:19

Ignore me, NH101. Your doc will know far better than I. Good luck with it all.

flosspot · 28/08/2007 13:59

Af arrived this weekend. Torn between being and and then little bit happy that cycle only seems to have been thrity days. Unheard of for me....could it be Clomid at worlk???

OP posts:
lulu1414 · 28/08/2007 14:34

Oh Floss, sorry to hear AF arrived, but yes it is good that clomid has got you on a shorter cycle. I find I am gutted when AF arrives, but then after a few days just try to focus on the next attempt! Hope you are feeling OK. Have you started 4th clomid cycle, then?

I'm off for my acupuncture appt in an hour.

tigerschick · 28/08/2007 14:56

Hi ladies

nh101 - glad to hear that the progesterone has done its job. Hope the Clomid doesn't give you problems, I had no side-effects at all, thank goodness.

Flosspot - sorry that your period turned up, but like lulu said, at least the Clomid has shortened your cycle and you can now think about the next attempt.

Lulu - hope the accupuncture goes/went OK. I saw a clinic in my local town advertising 'alternative therapies' the other day. Was tempted to get a brochure but I was driving and there was no where to park. Also not sure what dh would think.

I'm still waiting until cd35 (currently cd20) when I can start another course of progesterone and begin all over again. I did, however, have rather a lot of cm yesterday (sorry, TMI) so, you never know, but I'm not expecting anything.
Hope everyone is OK

nh101 · 28/08/2007 16:11

Sorry to hear about AF floss - are you definitely OV'ing? I read somewhere that sometimes it doesn't work. I just thought with your mega long cycles... and maybe the same would happen to me. Wasn't your last Clomid one 40 days? I thought they were supposed to be the same every month.

Sorry for being so numb about it all.. I'm a total Clomid thickie - just feel like I have been thrown into it and I don't know what I am doing!.

ladylush · 28/08/2007 22:01

Sorry ladies - hijack thread. Hi Tigerschick - just popped over to see how you are. Glad clomid didn't send you raving mad as you feared

EmsMum · 28/08/2007 22:28

Sorry I haven't had time to read whole thread ... I conceived my DD on second clomid cycle. On-the-ball GP realised I had long cycle and did the ov test on day 28 not 21...looked good first time but no luck. I used ov prediction kit second time which showed I was ovulating but later than standard day 14 (or whatever it is, this stuff used to be engraved on my mind but its 9 years ago!) so if you think you have long cycle on clomid may be worth ov testing...otherwise keep ttcing longer!

Best of luck to all of you. I wouldn't be EmsMum without clomid.

flosspot · 29/08/2007 10:40

Thanks for the sympathy, you are all such lovely ladies. I am being focused this time, so hope that it works!!

Was blubbery wreck last night though with the news that yet anther of our friends is pregnant. Get this- she didn't even realise until she started throwing up a lot. I am absolutely inconsolable, not least because she is due round about the time I would have been, had I not miscarried. So every time I see her, I am going to be comparing myself to hr. I feel hideous and evil for even thinking it, and am genuinely happy for her, but don't you just hate people who don't even realise they are pregant? They haven't been temping and using OPKs and agonising about the whole thing......it seems so unfair.

nh101- they don't know whether I am ovulating or not....they told me I wasn't, then I fell pregnant, then i miscarried, and here I am again. I haven't the foggiest, but have vowed to pee on a stick every day this month. I am so tired of not knowing.
