New Year, new thread! 🍾πŸ₯‚

Basically: a wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the TTC journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Here's hoping 2019 brings some BFP luck to us all!! πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»

Dammit double post. Felt I needed to add that afterthought so I didn't come across as a Debby-Downer!

CNizzle · 10/01/2019 07:27

@BambiOnIce80 i think I'd already be POAS too. Whats it like this morning? How long is your usual luteal phase? My temps usually always drop on dpo10, & AF appears at 11.

BambiOnIce80 · 10/01/2019 07:44

You're not Debbie Downer at all @79andnotout! πŸ˜‚ And thanks @CNizzle, but I think I'm having a very standard cycle and AF will be with me at the weekend 😏

I'm under no illusions that I'm going to miraculously get pregnant just because I've started monitoring my temp! πŸ˜‚ Just finding it super interestingπŸ€“ πŸ˜‰ Temp slightly lower this morning but still up, so I fully expect to see a temp drop somewhere between tomorrow and Monday🌑️I think because I can't get pregnant but my bloods are normal, I wanted to temp to see if there was something abnormal in there that contradicted the blood results... But, nope, looking pretty normal thus far πŸ€“ I'm fancying I might have either mega permeable or impermeable eggs and that might be my 'unexplained' cause πŸ€” I say 'fancying' because it's popped up in my reading a few times that the latter are quite often responsible for unexplained infertility. Absolutely no way to find out until IVF though, so just have to sit on my hands and wait for that damn letter to turn up πŸ˜’

That's interesting @BambiOnIce80 - can ivf solve it? I'm thinking there is something that could be added to the eggs to improve permeability. Some enzymes or detergents or something. Your chart certainly looks perfect to me. And it can't be egg quality because you've been trying from a relatively young age and your reserves are good.

BambiOnIce80 · 10/01/2019 08:41

IVF can indeed solve both of the egg permeability issues @79andnotout πŸ‘ If the egg is a little bit slutty and let's every sperm and his dog in (resulting in a genetic mess that can't implant), then they just introduce one sperm to fertilise it. If the egg is full on hard boiled and the sperm would require their very own little diamond cutter to get in, then the embryology team do just that - they inject a sperm into the egg so that it gets in. I say again: I bloody love science! πŸ˜πŸ€“

... I'd also love a life of Chilean wine tours though, so I'll be OK if my infertility issue turns out to be unsolvable. I think 😏

OP posts:
Felinewoman · 10/01/2019 08:53

Chilenean wine tour sounds awesome! humans are rubbish in the fertility department. I read an interesting paper yesterday about human fertility and the percentage of early miscarriage and how many actually make it. Oh well, despite the bad stats humankind is still here...
I have cramping this morning so I guess AF is coming... We shall see.

Morning All - FF is predicting I'm 11dpo today! Feeling pretty standard today (or novelty of symptom spotting has warn off πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚). Still feeling a little nauseous, but I am tired due to not sleeping well the last few nights.

I laid in bed this morning holding my FMU for at least half an hour debating with myself..."do I test". This ttc malarkey is a total mind-f**k! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

But totally enjoying having something to analyse over my morning decaf latte...BBT remains in the higher zone, anticipating AF at the weekend.

@amanda I couldn’t resist a FRER if I was you

So another high day on the cmfm for me (ffs!) but opk looking darker still?? Buts it’s FMU... is that bad??

Temp dropped slightly so I don’t think I have O’d 2 data ago as suggested.... which is bittersweet.
Dtd this morning.... (DH wasn’t in β€˜that pkace’ Last night 🀬).... I want to do it again tonight with this darker line, can it hurt if we do it then wait 24 hours?? X

@tigsyboo - I don't think I will be testing until after the weekend. I would rather see AF than a BFN. I left it until 18dpo last time. Also my cycle may still be a little messed up after MC, so taking a chilled approach to HPT'ing.

BambiOnIce80 · 10/01/2019 18:04

Thanks for the reference @Felinewoman, I'll give it a look πŸ€“ Sorry to hear you're cramping - when is AF due? Cramps don't necessarily mean you're out, of course 🀞🏻 Did your FRER's arrive and are you still going to give one a go?

Temps still looking good my cycle buddy @Amanda81 πŸ€“ I hope AF doesn't visit you this weekend 🀞🏻 πŸ€

I'd call that last OPK a BFP @tigsyboo, so I'd get on it if I were you πŸ˜‰

Crazy-busy day for me πŸ˜ͺ Been good because it's taken my full attention all day (a little break from the all consuming TTC madness! πŸ€ͺ). Day off for the gin tasting tomorrow (so long dry January πŸ‘‹πŸΈ) and then heading down south to do the belated friends and family Christmas visits. Hurrah for more distractions with AF being due! πŸŽ‰πŸ˜‚

OP posts:
Amanda81 · 10/01/2019 19:30

@BambiOnIce80 - really hoping she doesn't show. It's peculiar, prior to mc I never had any Pre-AF symptoms. May have got a few cramps during, but nothing much. Now I feel everything. So really have no idea what any feelings mean at the moment. I hope you have a good time down south and get adequately distracted! That's a long way to get to from Scotland! Happy travelling x

Felinewoman · 10/01/2019 19:32

@Bambi, AF is predicted for Saturday...but my cycles usually range from 26 to 34 days with an average of 29 which is Saturday. If AF doesn't arrive by Sunday I will do a test, just to have peace of mind.

Kescilly · 10/01/2019 19:57

@BambiOnIce80 count me as another who is jealous of where you live! I think if I made a list of places to visit in the UK, 80% of them would be in Scotland.

Scan went fairly well today. She didn’t tell us the sex, so hopefully the other place was right! They are moving up my glucose test because the baby’s abdomen was measuring large, so I’m feeling really guilty about that. Also she couldn’t get a clear view of the heart so I need to go back in a week or two.

PixieN · 10/01/2019 23:06

I love your description of slutty egg and hard boiled egg that needs a diamond cutter @BambiOnIce Anyone else imagining these as little cartoon characters? Lol πŸ˜‚

Glad your scan went well @Kescilly πŸ’•

BambiOnIce80 · 10/01/2019 23:55

@Amanda81, I hear you on the feeling everything ✊ Distraction is the best way to get through it, I think. 7 hours of driving (one way! 😭) is going to give me far too much time to drift off into symptom spotting psycho mode (if AF hasn't already arrived, of course πŸ™„).

Keeping everything crossed for you for a BFP on Sunday @Felinewoman πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€

@Kescilly please don't feel guilty about the glucose thing! ❀️ Gestational diabetes can happen to anyone and they should be keeping an eye on you accordingly. Please let them look after you and don't blame yourself.x

@PixieN in my head they are absolutely cartoon characters!! πŸ₯šπŸŽˆπŸ˜‰ It also looks like I'm one small step closer to finding out if my half-arsed theory is anywhere near accurate as I've come home from dinner to find the hallowed ACU appointment letter (cue angelic music) βœ‰οΈπŸ™ŒπŸ˜‡πŸŽΆ We get this show on the road in 2 & a half weeks time. Bring it! 😁

79andnotout · 11/01/2019 07:42

Woo good news! Finally some progress, @BambiOnIce80! Are you testing before your ginathon?

@Kescilly great the scan was fine! do they think you might have gestational diabetes? A few of my friends got that, seems it's quite common.

BambiOnIce80 · 11/01/2019 08:28

I think I'm at the 'what's the point?' stage when it comes to FRER's @79andnotout, so I'm not bothering. It'll only be an itty bitty tasting, so I don't think there's too much to worry about if by some small miracle I do turn out to be preggers this cycle... 🍸😬

OP posts:
79andnotout · 11/01/2019 08:37

Yep fair enough @BambiOnIce80 - I felt very much the same recently.

CNizzle · 11/01/2019 09:14

Great news on the ACU appointment @BambiOnIce80 have a nice weekend. We want top-gin-tips on your return! Also 🀞 for lack of AF x
@kescilly i think its very normal to be tested for gestational diabetes, please dont worry, better to get it checked out.

BambiOnIce80 · 11/01/2019 09:15

I'd definitely be more of a responsible adult if I was planning on hitting it hard, but given I think we're talking a maximum of 1.8 units of alcohol being consumed I'm not going to put myself through another BFN, if that makes sense? Back to dry January after this πŸ‘

... Until the 28th when we've got a Burns whisky dinner, anyway! πŸ˜„

OP posts:
pattyhoo · 11/01/2019 09:23

AF has arrived for me one day late Sad now just waiting to start again. I thought my temps were so much more stable this cycle and had started the whole 'maybe?!?' Thing. Ugh.

Carley321 · 11/01/2019 16:15

Hello all. This thread is getting so hard to keep up with. But thought I’d drop in and say hi. I’m maybe a week past ovulation not 100% when ovulation actually was (if at all) but had my bfp OPK last weekend. This middle week is torture and seems to make me think about nothing other than sptom spotting and the alcohol I can’t have πŸ™„.

@BambiOnIce80 excellent news about your letter arriving. I’m so pleased that you are able to get the able rolling. Still keeping my 🀞 that AF stays away for you though.
Have a fab time Gin tasting πŸ₯‚.

@PixiN defo picturing the cartoon characters... maybe like a Jessica Rabbit and Miss piggy 😳.

@Kescilly glad the scan went fairly well. And hope you aren’t to stressed about the rest I’m with Bambi you really shouldn’t be feeling guilty at all πŸ’—. X

Carley321 · 11/01/2019 16:18

@BambiOnIce I obviously meant the β€˜ball’ rolling! Bloody predictive text cracks me up!
And so dry January turned into dray 29 days of January... good enough I say! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Melamine · 11/01/2019 20:40

Nice to see you post @Blueberry1, I was on an earlier thread with you, also delighted to hear @SoozC had her baby. Definitely time for @Bambionice81 to get the luck of the thread starter!

@tigsyboo I definitely had one or two anovulatory cycles post MC last year. Then I started ovulating much later in cycle. My lucky cycle (5th after mc) I had 12 highs on CB before I got peak.

Glad all ok with my my fellow thread graduates. @kescilly mine had a slightly above average abdomen too but they didn’t say anything about GD. Do you think they would have if I’d needed it? I’m 22 weeks today myself. Keeping fingers & toes crossed for everyone else!
