New Year, new thread! 🍾πŸ₯‚

Basically: a wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the TTC journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Here's hoping 2019 brings some BFP luck to us all!! πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»

You are most certainly not a tit @Carley321! ❀️ The soy isoflavones are indeed a tablet, but you're absolutely right to not start potentially messing with your cycles (just yet, anyway!). If I were you I'd wait to get your bloods done by the doc to build a proper picture of what your body's doing before trying to help it out. I'm hoping you'll get a BFP before you get to the needing bloods done stage though 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻Remind me- when will it be a year of TTC for you?x

@BambiOnIce80 yea you’re right, I’m just feeling so impatient. I do have the doctors on the 15th though. So hopefully they will get some bloods done. Although I’m imagining that they will tell me to come back at a later date.
Not a year yet, I came off BC last May. So 9 months ish.
If it wasn’t for my messed up and very light cycles I don’t think I’d worry as much. 🀞 for us all to get a bfp before any more doctors appointments 🀞

BambiOnIce80 · 06/02/2019 08:07

I think you could push for bloods at that point @Carley321 based on your cycles not quite getting back to where they should be after 9 months (so not because of the TTC, per se). Someone I know IRL came off the pill in March last year and her GP did her bloods 6 months later because she'd only had her withdrawal bleed and nothing else. It can't hurt to ask, anyway.x

Morning ladies. Hope everyone is good and feeling positive about the prospect of possible BFP. I'm really wanting to test but scared, flo due today. No sign not even a whisper, cramping has almost stopped not really feeling too bloated either. I feel different. Don't feel periody at all. No other symptoms. Internet says a period is not classed as missed until it's a week late. Jeez the thought of waiting another wk is not appealing. I'll try hold out to Friday. That'd be cd32. What pgtest should I go for. ? Are the clear blue digital ones best. Have tried first response last cycle, not sure about it. Confused

QuantumGirl · 06/02/2019 11:50

Hi @Guaccamole I'm in the same boat as you. AF was due on Monday and so far nothing. I have a feeling last cycle was anovulatory as I had no ewcm and didn't get a smiley face on pink clear blue opk. I'm scared of testing and getting a BFN πŸ₯Ί. Time will tell.

CNizzle · 06/02/2019 13:05

Hey all, I'm back, its been a crazy few weeks. Hello to anyone joined over the past week or so I've been MIA.
Dad's funeral was monday, and I've been travelling up and down between Glasgow & Liverpool probably twice a week for the past three weeks. I'm shattered. Not done any tracking this month, although not much shagging either. I'm just past ovulation (I think), so I'm not expecting miracles this month. AF due on my 39th birthday, 16th Feb (yay for both πŸ™).

I've had my dates for pre-op & laparoscopy to take a closer look at my tubes, and also check out if I've got endometriosis, that's the 18th & 21st Feb, so not long to wait for that. GP has signed me off work until after the surgery. Thankfully work have been brilliant. I've not been in work since second week of Jan. It's going to be hard to go back!
Thanks @bambionice80 for the mention the other day, he got a good send-off. Hope you're doing ok too xx

BambiOnIce80 · 06/02/2019 17:04

Fingers-crossed for you @Guaccamole 🀞🏻 Here's a link for the sensitivities of the main HPT's on the market - the lower the number, the better for early pregnancy detection:

www.avawomen.com/avaworld/best-pregnancy-test/

I hope it's not an annovulatory cycle for you @QuantumGirl and it's good news instead πŸ€

Lovely to hear from you @CNizzle ❀️ Glad you're able to stay off work on the lead up to your procedures - you've had so much to deal with it can all get a bit too much, so time to yourself can only be a good thing πŸ’ Have you got something nice planned for your birthday?x

OP posts:
Carley321 · 06/02/2019 18:53

@BambiOnIce yea true. Did you know the out come of your IRL friend? I’m so nosy but feel the need to hear everybodies experience lol.

@Guaccamole Sounds promising 🀞 for AF to stay away. Good look with the testing.

@QuantumGirl Monday... it is sounding promising. I hope it isn’t an annovulatory cycle and you get you BFP 🀞

@CNizzle you sound like you’ve had a very manic few weeks. I can’t imagine how hard it’s been. It’s good news that you have time off work though and not to long to wait for your appointments either.
I hope you are able to have a lovely Birthday after this tough time xx

Carley321 · 07/02/2019 07:00

So day 8 of the flashing smiley. I also did a cheapy OPK last night which was positive and some serious niggly cramps.
Any CB advanced users out there who can shed some light?

Is it possible for the test to be broke as I’ve had a flashing smiley since the second day of using it. Also will the static smiley only show for a short period? Is it possible to have missed ovulation?

Guaccamole · 07/02/2019 08:22

#Carley321 I've an update. Took pgtest this am. Cheapy ASDA one. Negative 😑. On a positive note no af. Not a feeling at all of af. Have been having creamy white cm for about 5 days now and I never get that at this stage just before period. Have been taking Maca Root but think I'll stop until with af or bfp. Hoping for the bfp. Will try and leave testing again until Sunday me thinks. Anybody else taking Maca Root? I've heard it's amazing for fertility in men & women! Grin

Pinkywoo · 07/02/2019 08:51

I'm glad the funeral was ok @CNizzle and that your gp sounds like a good one Flowers
We're almost cycle twins this month as I'm due on the 15th and the symptom spotting psycho is starting to appear! Last night I was driving DP crazy trying to find the source of a mystery smell in the kitchen, so either I'm pregnant or he's got a cold, I think I know which is more likely Confused

Amanda81 · 07/02/2019 14:00

@Carley321 very frustrating to get 8 in a row. I've only started using CB adv this cycle, so can't advise much. In terms of how long you will see a static smiley face, you should see it for 48hrs once you've seen it first.

@Guaccamole 🀞🏻 for your bfp on Sunday and you also @QuantumGirl

@CNizzle pleased you have been able to take time off from what sounds like a very emotional and chaotic time. I hope all is well.

@BambiOnIce80 have your temps gone down yet?

BambiOnIce80 · 07/02/2019 17:29

@Carley321, my friend didn't really understand the results (science isn't her thing), but the doc said they were normal. She's got an ultrasound next month to see how things are looking- I'll keep you informed πŸ‘ Very frustrating on the CB front! If you had a BFP IC OPK last night, then you could ov at anytime up to 36 hours after that... When is DP back?!

When is AF due again @Guaccamole? Hopefully it's just still a bit early for an asda cheapy 🀞🏻 I took maca root for a month, but then I had my crap 19 day cycle and freaked out that it could have had something to do with it- stopped taking it quick smart! It's also supposed to work against the soy isoflavones, so no good for me this cycle anyway. My DP is still taking it though πŸ’Š πŸ‘

Hope you're super sensitive nose is a good sign @Pinkywoo! πŸ€

@Amanda81, I'm CD7 and AF is still here a day longer than she usually is πŸ€” I don't mind the chance of a long cycle next to the chance of a super short one though! πŸ˜‚ Temp is still down at 36.30ishΒ°C, so no better or worse. I'm hoping it'll head down to the 36.00's like it did in my first 'good' temping cycle if/when oestrogen kicks in, but still very much in the 'wait and see' camp 😏 Last day of soy isoflavones today, so let's find out if it's done it's thing! 🌑️🀞🏻🌑️🀞🏻How's your temp looking as the weekend approaches? Still nice and high?x

OP posts:
Carley32 · 07/02/2019 19:05

@Guaccamole well no af means your still in with a chance so 🀞🀞

@Amanda81 I feel like I’l never see a static smiley. I think it’s broke πŸ™„. I hope you have more luck with them and get your bfp 🀞.

@BambiOnIce80 yes please do lol. Hope all is normal for her though.
Science is certainly not my thing either.
Well I had a positive IC last night but a completely negative one tonight, not even an inkling of a second line. I am seriously confused πŸ₯Ί. My body is playing tricks with me for sure this month (I don’t know weather it’s to so with me obsessing over it). DP is back Sat evening, he could be back next sat evening I still don’t think I’d get a static lol.
But i suppose you’re having a bit of weird cycle to this month πŸ€” strange (although I guess you have numerous reasons as to why). Good luck with the soy, I hope it’s done the trick πŸ‘.

Amanda81 · 07/02/2019 20:46

Hi @BambiOnIce80 it's hovering around the 36.7 mark which is the high mark for me (pre-o temps are around 36.0 mark). I only have last cycle temps to go off, but if there is a pattern and my temps start to reduce tomorrow, AF will be on her way. Having a few light cramps, so thinking she will make an appearance. This is all based upon my O'ing on cd17. But it could have been cd15...my OPK's suggest CD17. I'd rather it was cd15 as this would give me a longer LP. I do like how BBT can give you a hint either way. So hoping it goes up tomorrow. You have a nice temp there...fingers crossed it goes down a little further 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻

Amanda81 · 07/02/2019 21:00

@Carley321 i would keep going with it, at least for another day or so. Although you could have a really short window for your LH surge and you caught it with your Ic opk and your cb adv missed it. Do you bbt?

BambiOnIce80 · 07/02/2019 21:03

I'm with you @Amanda81 - on the temp chart alone it looks like you ov'd CD15. Is it the IC OPK's that were BFP on CD17 or the CB, just out of interest? Looking like a lovely chart, either way πŸ€“ Long may the temp rise continue!

@Carley321 / @Carley32 (πŸ˜‚) I don't get an LH surge for long either, so I wouldn't worry about getting a fully BFN one today. I've had a BFP at 11am followed by a fully BFN by 3pm on the same day before - it's apparently not unusual to get very short surges πŸ‘

OP posts:
Amanda81 · 07/02/2019 21:10

@BambiOnIce80 the IC OPK was positive at 4pm on cd15 and then I got my peak on the CB adv cd16 on the fmu. It's confusing, as I thought the Lh surge happened before O...any thoughts?

Carley32 · 07/02/2019 21:17

Ok so every time Mumsnet chucks me out and I have to sign back in. It changes my bloody name back to the previous. How frustrating is this! πŸ˜‚.

@BambiOnIce80 Really? That short... is that anything to worry about?
And I wonder @Amanda81 .... if the CB catches the 2 most fertile days then surely it should pick up some sort of difference πŸ€”. This is all very confusing to me.

Also while I’m on the questioning role.... so an annovulatory cycle, is a cycle witch misses an ovulation? So do you still get a period? Or does it all try again beforehand?

Apologies for being a bit daft!

Amanda81 · 07/02/2019 21:36

C@Carley32 so frustrating with the naming issue πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€ͺ I must admit the CB adv OPK's have confused me this cycle. I pleased I do the bbt as I would be very confused. On the anovulatory cycle I think you can still get your period...that's why they can be missed and some women are none the wiser that they've had one.

BambiOnIce80 · 07/02/2019 21:44

@Amanda81 that's right, the LH surge triggers ovulation anytime from 6 hours to 36 hours afterwards, so maybe you ov'd late in the evening CD15/early hours of CD16?

@Carley32 it kicked me out today too - I wasn't getting any notifications through and just thought things were quiet (but of course they weren't!). Short LH surges aren't supposed to be anything to worry about πŸ‘ On the annovulatory cycle front, it is indeed missed ovulation which results in a longer cycle. You still get AF before you move on cycles and carry on as normal though. It's apparently normal to get them up to twice a year, so pretty common.

OP posts:
Amanda81 · 07/02/2019 21:45

Apparently there was a hack in MN, so everyone had to log back in. It's reported on the first page in the app.

Carley32 · 07/02/2019 22:09

Thank you for shedding some light ladies @Amanda81 @BambiOnIce I feel a little better about my weird so far cycle.
I can’t quite believe how busy and confusing our bodies are. I feel like BC has tricked me for years.

Amanda81 · 08/02/2019 06:34

Totally agree @Carley32. Also think that my sex Ed was pretty poor πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I thInk I have a short LH surge, I haven't gathered enough data to confirm. Like @BambiOnIce80 said, it's pretty normal, so nothing to worry about.

Woke up at 5am and couldn't get back to sleep due to the stormy weather. I normally temp at 7am. Anyway I took my temp and it has had a massive drop, right down to 36.22 below the cover line. As it is an irregular time to take my temp, FF have indicated as an empty circle ⭕️. Only means one thing I think...she's on her way. Although the wicked witch of the east who controls that side of my brain (or heart) is saying 'or could that be an implantation dip'...happy Friday everyone. Just want spring to be here, everything always seems better with sunshine and daffodils 🌼

35+ TTC#1 Thread 5
Carley32 · 08/02/2019 07:04

Well it could still be @Amanda81. It’s not over until Af shows up. 🀞 for you.
I can’t wait for spring either, everything feels so much more positive after our longs gloomy winters.
Happy Friday 😊
