TTC 1st. Just over a year married. So I'm due AF in 3 days. Took a FRPT this morning, negative. I'm moving on! Trying to busy my mind with other things. It's so hard not to obsess , Any ideas for me? So roll on February TTC. Lots of loving this month with DH & ov tests from day 10. Don't think we were having enough last month. Not taking any chances this cycle. It's gona be cycle 4 TTC. From when flo finishes planning on BD every 2-3 days until I get positive OT. Using cheap ones and if any kind of 2nd line then use an expensive one. Then that day, and the next 2. Then back to every 2-3 days till I think we're good or were not in the mood. What do you all think of this plan ?

BambiOnIce80 · 03/02/2019 15:59

Welcome @Guaccamole πŸ‘‹ On the trying to not obsess front, I find throwing myself into house work/cooking/organising some other project helps to distract me (my kitchen is currently spotless after this mornings obsessive Google-thon 😬). Running is also a good mind-clearer, but sadly too icey today for it. Your plan for next month sounds like a as good a plan as any πŸ‘ Best of luck to you πŸ€

Thanks guys. No peak.
Is it normal to have so many flashing smilies (4 now) and still no peak. Or any Iv signs and very little to none ewcm? I’m confused, and spending a fortune using 3 different opks lol.

@BambiOnIce80 what is this soy stuff you speak of?
I know i shouldn’t be but I’m also obsessed with Dr google πŸ™ˆ. Not always a good thing. But I’m your case I think he’s probably right, you had a very tough month.

Had a lovely weekend and feeling that very SMonday feeling right now πŸ˜’

Anyone testing soon?

Carley321 · 03/02/2019 19:16

Hi @Guaccamole sounds like you have it all planned out. Good luck 🀞🀞.

Amanda81 · 03/02/2019 20:19

Hi @Carley321 I had 5 flashing smileys before I got a static smiley.

Hello @Guaccamole, sounds like you have all the bases covered with your plan. I find it very hard not to obsess over it all, I tend to go from a crazy ttc woman to who gives a πŸ’©πŸ˜¬πŸ˜¬πŸ˜¬ I'm definitely of the mind like the others, keep yourself busy, especially in the tee!

@BambiOnIce80 I forget if you are now on a new cycle, following your weird crazy cycle?

I'm in the 2ww now. Currently, 5DPO (or poss 7dpo). My temps have been a little erratic this cycle. AF is due in a week (on my birthday)...hoping it's our month, it would make a very nice Birthday pressie. I decided to resurrect one of my hobbies, knitting. I am currently making a seed stitch baby blanket, for when I finally have a baby in my arms...PMA all that.

QuantumGirl · 03/02/2019 22:41

@PixieN I use the KΓ©rastase elixir ultimate mask as a conditioner but as I only wash my hair once a week, this mask lasts for a good 6 months. Then before I style I use KΓ©rastase nutritive Γ³leo relax all over the length of the hair but again you only need a little, 3 or 4 pumps. I found sulfate free shampoos to work really well so I got one from Boots, can't remember the name but it's a brown bottle for about Β£5. I usually style with babyliss big hair which is a God send πŸ˜‰

Welcome @Guaccamole. Ttc tests you in more ways than you imagine and in the 2ww is your patience. I usually have a plan before it starts. This month for me was painting a newly plastered wall of my house and finishing off a cross stitch project (lovely to hear about your baby blanket @Amanda81).

Hope everyone had a great weekend and ready for the week ahead 😘

Carley321 · 04/02/2019 06:53

@Amanda81 I had my 5th flashing smiley this morning. I can’t bloody believe it! DP is off skiing tomorrow morning so it looks like I’m out for this cycle. Which is so frustrating!
🀞 for a BFP Birthday prezzie.

BambiOnIce80 · 04/02/2019 08:01

Ah, that sucks @Carley321! Had really hoped you'd get your static before tomorrow πŸ˜” Can't hurt to keep DTD anyway to have some in the bank (as it were πŸ˜‰) in case it goes static tomorrow. On the soy isoflavones front, I've read that they can trick your body into producing more oestrogen if you take them CD3-5, and my temp chart looks like I didn't get a lot of oestrogen last month so I thought I'd try them. Having read around a bit more it sounds like the Maca Root might have played a part with my wonky short cycle, so to cover all bases I'm going to stop taking it and I won't take the soy isoflavones next cycle either- my cycles were regular before I started trying to 'help' them with herbal supplements, so probably best to stop helping! Could have just been the bereavement stress, but better safe than sorry...

Oooh, that would be a good birthday present @Amanda81!! 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻CD4 here after the weird cycle. Temp is down at 36.41°C, so I'll just have to wait and see if the soy isoflavones help my oestrogen out or not... Definitely going to go herbal supplement cold turkey after CD7!

OP posts:
Amanda81 · 04/02/2019 09:35

@Carley321 that's pants. You will still have some swimmers doing lengths of your Fallopian tubes so don't consider yourself out. Hopefully you will get your static tomorrow. But I would try OPKing tonight. What Cd are you? Do you know when you usually O? 🀞🏻 for you.

@QuantumGirl - I love anything crafts. However I am a bit of a workaholic and tend to put work first. Knitting 🧢 something for my future bambino is helping me prioritise the hobbie...which is nice.

@BambiOnIce80 It's funny how all these conception vitamins are supposed to help, where they may actually through your cycle up in the air. I've been taking the standard Preconception pregnacare vits this cycle, and swear they changed my CM to more watery and less EWCM. I'm not sure if I will stick with them if I'm honest. I conceived last time without any help. However, that little devil in my ear keeps saying "but you ain't getting any younger, you need all the help you can get" blah blah blah 😩😩😩😩 I hope your cycle levels out this month.

Well my birthday is on Sunday, but usually get brown spotting a few days before, so should know in advance if I have the best birthday pressie ever. Only 6 days to wait 😬😬😬😬

BambiOnIce80 · 04/02/2019 12:19

Oh I absolutely know about that little devil in the ear @Amanda81! πŸ‘Ώ I can't get pregnant even though my cycles are (well, were 😣) regular, so it makes sense to add some harmless supplements into the mix to help... until they bugger up your cycle entirely! πŸ™„

Thinking of you today @CNizzle ❀️

OP posts:
Carley321 · 04/02/2019 17:14

@BambiOnIce80 I know, I’m gutted lol. Typical!
Oh really maybe some
Macca root may help my cycles then? I could do with a few shorter ones lol. But yes I agree better to stay away from all if your in doubt.

@Amada81 it is pants, isn’t it!! Lol. Yes I suppose they’ll be hanging around in there for a few days 🀞. I’m cd18. I don’t have regular cycles so no idea when I ovulate but my last 2 or maybe 3 actually have been between 31 and 35 days so I thought I would have ovulated by now. My app sais later in the week. Typical! 🀞🀞 for you special Birthday prezzie, not long to wait.

BambiOnIce80 · 05/02/2019 07:58

Good morning ladies 🌞

How's the OPK's this morning @Carley321? Any sign of that pesky static smiley?x

OP posts:
QuantumGirl · 05/02/2019 08:07

Morning everyone @BambiOnIce80 @Carley321 what would be the result if @Carley321 was using the pink clear blue? Just the empty circle?

BambiOnIce80 · 05/02/2019 09:16

No idea on that one I'm afraid @QuantumGirl - I'm not a lover/user of the CB's... I love my IC OPK's too much (aka I'm a cheapskate!) πŸ˜‚

Mini-update on the soy isoflavones: not sure if it's related, but I've been in a awesomely good mood since last night 😁 Literally dancing around the kitchen whilst cooking to '90's floor fillers' on Amazon music πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒ A very rare occurrence, normally (the dancing and the 90's dance hits- not something I'd normally choose to listen to)! Normally, I'm too knackered for such things after work. My temp has gotten down just a bit lower than last cycle this morning too, so hoping that's a good sign 🀞🏻 Hopefully it'll keep going in that direction for another good few days and not be another wonky short cycle... Time will tell πŸ™‚

OP posts:
Amanda81 · 05/02/2019 09:34

I need to get me some of that soy isoflavones @BambiOnIce80 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Quick update from me...my temp reached a balmy height of 36.72...seriously, that's high for me at dpo7. Of course, I'm now thinking, well you all know what I'm thinking 🀣🀣🀣

Guaccamole · 05/02/2019 14:09

Update. The wait is unbearable. Flo due tomorrow. Took pgtest 12 dpo - negative! but don't actually know when I ovulated. Cd 15&16 i had mild cramp and major bloat then went away then ever since I'd say very mild and intermittent cramp and slight bloat. I don't know what's normal as only got my period back in November . I'm dreading Flos arrival. And have been quite moody and emotional esp yesterday. Hmm

Guaccamole · 05/02/2019 14:17

On an upbeat note. We are all still in with a chance until the crimson wave arrives. Hoping for success and bfp for all of us lovely ladies. Hang in there. Never give up.

QuantumGirl · 05/02/2019 14:31

Ladies, those of you who have a regular cycle, what's the longest cycle you had so far on a normal month (not just after bc)? AF was due yesterday but I need to keep myself grounded! 🀨

BambiOnIce80 · 05/02/2019 15:16

I absolutely know what you're thinking @Amanda81 πŸ˜‚ I'm right there with you! Still keeping everything crossed for you for the weekend 🀞🏻

You absolutely aren't out until AF arrives @Guaccamole πŸ€ I've developed a deep-seated dislike for FRER's exactly for how inaccurate they can be (but at least there's always hope because of how inaccurate they can be!).

@QuantumGirl, my longest cycle was my first annovulatory one probably about 13 years ago. It was a whopping 38 days! 😱 Totally confused and freaked out at the time that I was not pregnant (didn't want to be at the time) but no AF when it was always so regular. Hoping AF doesn't show up for you and you get your BFP πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€

OP posts:
Weathergirl1 · 05/02/2019 16:54

@QuantumGirl I've had a 37 day cycle but that was delayed ovulation due to stress (was super busy organising an event right in the run up to usual ovulation time and it didn't happen until CD 23 - usually CD 12/13).

Hi everyone else - I've been keeping up to date but didn't have much to add so haven't been logging in! FX for everyone currently in the TWW! We're going into FW now...

Really intrigued by the soy isoflavones. Someone else mentioned them in a different thread I lurk on too. I think my ovulation has got slightly earlier in the last 12 months which tallies up with taking B6 and B12 (for a separate health-related reason) though I've stopped the B6 now.

Another crafter here, though I leave knitting and crocheting to my mum as she's fantastic. I prefer sewing (simple stuff - though I'm quite good at bunting) and making stuff to solve problems!

Amanda81 · 05/02/2019 17:12

@QuantumGirl I'm pretty much a straight 28 dayer usually. However, last June I had a cycle that lasted 31 days, which had me in knots. I had upped my exercise regime from a crawl to a run so put it down to that. Have you tested? I hope you get your bfp.

@BambiOnIce80 I will be too excited to sleep tonight to see what the temperature will do tomorrow morning πŸ€ͺ I do find that the tww is similar to Christmas...so much to look forward to, but generally a non-event πŸ˜‚

@Guaccamole 🀞🏻for you.

@Carley321 intrigued as to how you got on with your OPKing. Hope it all aligned for you.

LucyBeatroot · 05/02/2019 17:18

Hello! My first ever post here! I’m 38 and started trying for #1 in January. After years of trying to not get preggers it was strange to realise I really could have unprotected sex on all the roughly ovulation-ish days and not be pregnant... so, now I’m starting my second two week wait, and trying not to think about it. But obviously I am thinking about it, because I’m on here! Argh!! How does everyone else stop themselves from going bananas?! πŸ€ͺ

Carley321 · 05/02/2019 18:30

@BambiOnIce80 still a bloody flashing smiley! I’m so confused. DP has jetted off on his travels now too. So in proper silk mode lol.
That sounds interesting, I’m not usually that type of person but it does sound like fun to be in such a good mood lol. 🀞 that it keeps up. What dpo are you at again?

@QuantumGirl yea just a really annoying empty little face. I hope your longer cycle means only one thing 🀞 that AF to stays away.

@Amanda81 no idea on temps but you sound positive about it so 🀞 that this is your time 🀞. My Opking is still confusing the hell out of me and now DP isn’t even in the country so I should probably give up. But I’m eager to see if I ever get a bloody static smiley!!

BambiOnIce80 · 05/02/2019 18:53

Good luck with FW @Weathergirl1 πŸ€ If I have another crazy short cycle, then I may be approaching it myself! πŸ˜• I found a really helpful 'how to' guide for soy isoflavones on an old MN thread from 2014. Give me a shout if you're interested and I'll see if I can find it again and copy and paste it onto here for reference/anyone who's interested πŸ€“

@Amanda81, I'm the same but I'm hoping/excited for my temperature to go down... come on soy isoflavones! Trick my body into producing lots more lovely oestrogen! πŸŒ‘οΈβ„οΈπŸ˜‚

Welcome @LucyBeatroot πŸ‘‹ I hear you on the hard realisation that we can have unprotected sex and not get pregnant πŸ™„ I felt thoroughly lied to by the sex ed guys! πŸ˜‚

@Carley321, that does indeed suck, but at least you can maybe look at this cycle as a mini no-pressure data gathering experiment πŸ€“ I would absolutely be sulking too though πŸ˜‰ I'm not any dpo because of my wonky shortest ever cycle, so it's CD5 here. AF is still just about here too, so I'm taking that as a good sign as a hopeful return to cycle normality (AF usually hangs about for 6 days for me but she only lasted 4 days last cycle). You only take the soy isoflavones for 5 days at the beginning of your cycle, so I started them on CD3 to try and help get a really strongly matured egg and help ovulation go with a bit of va va voom this time round. If you start them earlier (CD1, for example), you might release more than 1 egg but they wouldn't be as mature. The later you start them (no later than CD5 though), the better egg quality and ov you should get... in theory 🍳 πŸ€“ I bloody love science! 😍🀩

OP posts:
Carley321 · 05/02/2019 19:30

@BambiOnIce80 of course you did. I’m such a tit. I think I have baby brain just thinking about a baby πŸ˜‚.
I love that you love science (it’s a massive help to us) lol.
I like the sound of that! Is it a tablet?

I’m in the place where I want to try everything and anything. Including pregnacare but I’m petrified of messing with my already messy cycles!
