@BambiOnIce80 he’s only away for 4 days but still lol. Well I usually would but I am a little hesitant to leave my pooch after working all day and then again in the evenings. I’ll see closer to the date though.
Good news on the shift work.. good handling DP lol.
A dry 2 weeks πŸ˜‚. Well good luck I have a feeling that you’ll end up better than me this month lol.

Omg I cannot believe the ibuprofen announcement 😱. I am gutted. Feeling good about spicy food having a positive effect though. We love our spice.

On the subject of grey. My floaty strands on the top are dreadful. But I don’t dare to dye it at the moment. Iv always had fine hair but recently it’s falling out and snapping is on another level. So I suppose as long as it stays on my head any colour hair is welcome!

@Amanda81 aw sorry about your nosy new friends. But it sounded like you handled it well. πŸ’—.

I am also trying clear-blue advanced this cycle (as I’ve only just realised Iv been using just the plain old clear-blue sticks. No wonder I had a static smiley πŸ˜‚).
Booked my go appointment too but had to wait until 15 Feb.

79andnotout · 23/01/2019 22:18

Ok so Dr Google says thrush Could be a TWW pregnancy symptom. The increase in oestrogen promotes glycogen production in the cell walls and the Candida yeast love it. Could my itchy nether regions be the first sign? I've not had thrush in at least five years (and then it was caused by my overactive thyroid, it's how I figured out what was wrong). Only 7dpo today though. Gonna test on Saturday as we're going away for the weekend and I want to have some wine. Could it be my turn? (Definitely not getting my hopes up).

QuantumGirl · 23/01/2019 22:52

@79andnotout it sounds promising, fingers crossed for you πŸ€. Great that you are going away for the weekend, it's nice to have something to focus on. where are you off to?

CNizzle · 24/01/2019 00:49

@BambiOnIce80 @79andnotout re: my sister, i believe i can still feel the frostiness in the air from that day! It certainly meant my halo got a polish for a good while!!
In sad news. My dad passed away peacefully this morning (23rd). We were all together, in the house, just as he wanted. Very sad today, but strangely calm & peaceful that no longer struggling.
Funeral is 4th feb. Ill need to stay with mum for a while. OH is coming back down on friday. We were supposed to be going to fuertaventura today. Obviously we've cancelled that. Was just a cheapo deal, and i think weve lost the money, but you couldnt pay for time spent with family like this. Id have never forgiven myself if I'd gone.
I asked my ACS doc about ibuprofen/NSAIDs, cos i take naproxen for period pain, and am suppposed to start taking it before i start bleeding. Id heard rumblings about NSAIDs & ttc. He said if the pain relief were necessary, not to worry at all. Obvs if I could take paracetamol then fine, but as it doesn't touch the pain, carry on as normal & just stop if i miss a period. Hope this allays some fears.

QuantumGirl · 24/01/2019 07:22

Sorry to hear about your dad @CNizzle. But it's nice that he passed away at home surrounded by people he loved the most. Sending you and your family strength πŸ’

VenusStarr · 24/01/2019 07:41

I'm sorry to hear about your dad @CNizzle, glad he had his family around him. Sending best wishes πŸ’–

79andnotout · 24/01/2019 07:46

Glad he passed peacefully and with you all there, @Cnizzle, that's the best anyone could wish for. Big hugs xx

BambiOnIce80 · 24/01/2019 08:02

Urgh, I hate it when that happens @Amanda81 😣 How people think it's socially acceptable to ask someone they've just met why they don't have children is beyond me! 😑 I swear the next time someone does that to me I'm going to stage a full meltdown and cause a complete scene whilst theatrically regaling the crowd that gathers around me with my years of infertility woes... They may think twice before asking that question again πŸ˜‰ How's your temp looking?

@Carley321, oh 4 days isn't so bad I guess- just crap timing πŸ˜• Totally understand not wanting to leave your fur baby alone. Re: fine hair- same here! The really annoying thing is that the grey is a million times coarser than the normal stuff, so I've got a mix of hair that wants to lay flat on my head unless I volumise the hell out of it and hair that is sticking out in any direction it wants and doesn't want to join the fine stuff! My hair's dead straight too, so I like to attack it with the curling wand quite a lot (we're never happy with what we've got, are we?! πŸ˜‚) and it turns out subjecting my mostly fine hair to 180Β°C heat on a regular basis makes it snap off really easily πŸ™„ Time to have a 'break' from the curling wand for me 😏

@79andnotout, who knew thrush could be something to be excited about?! πŸ˜‚ I'm one of the unlucky few who is prone to it recurrently (apparently my mum was too, so must be a genetic element πŸ€”), so I'm enjoying the fact that I've managed to not have it for the best part of 2 years now... guaranteed now I know it can be a a conception symptom I'll obviously be thinking it's that next time it comes a knocking! πŸ˜„ Keeping everything crossed it's a good sign for you (roll on Saturday!) πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€

I'm so sorry for your sad news @CNizzle πŸ’™ You're absolutely right - you'll have no regrets whatsoever when you look back on this time. Sending much love to you and yours at this difficult time.x

So sorry about your Dad @Cnizzle Flowers

I've heard thrush can be a pregnancy symptom too @79andnotout so fingers crossed. I went through a very annoying cycle of uti, thrush caused by the antibiotics, allergic reaction to thrush tablets a couple of years ago, it was a constant saga of lady part trauma!

Regarding the greys I'm fairly lucky as my hair is very light blonde (my sister calls me albino girl Angry) so if I do have any they just blend in and it looks even lighter, also I often dye it pink as I don't need to bleach it first!

Kescilly · 24/01/2019 10:38

I’m sorry about your dad, @CNizzle. I’m glad that you were all able to be with him at home.

@BambiOnIce80 sounds like you know what to expect from your next appointment, at least reasonably so. Hopefully they won’t make you redo everything!

We’ve finally booked to go to Bath for a weekend next month. I felt guilty about the money but I’m also panicked that we won’t get to do anything like this again for a long time. Does anyone have recommendations on where to go for dinner? Nothing too fancy!

Amanda81 · 24/01/2019 12:22

@CNizzle so sorry to hear your news. Like the others have said, at least you where all there to support each other. Love to all of you ❀️

@79andnotout - crappie about the thrush (luckily I've never had it), but gosh I never knew it could be a pregnancy symptom (weirdly, makes me want to have it). All my fingers and toes are crossed for you, which will make driving to my next site difficult πŸ€ͺ

@BambiOnIce80 - they probs thought they where asking an innocent question, it was the 'why' which shuck me, didn't expect a follow up question like that 😩. The group of people was a load of old dears (65+) so couldn't get mad at them. I think they where probably quizzing me as I look younger than what I am (apart from the fricking grey hairs) and look as if I will be in what they would probably see as child-bearing years i.e. early 30's. It was an informal interview setting for a possible project, so totally inappropriate question really. Ah well, it won't be the last time it will come up I expect. My temps was stable for a few days, now they seem a little up and down. I think I may ovulate prior to cd17. I'm thinking of making it a little interesting with the DH and putting bets on for when we think it will happen. The CB adv OPK has me as high still. How are your temps? Are you usually O-OMG on cd17? Hope all is well with you x

VenusStarr · 24/01/2019 16:49

Having a small freak out but trying to stay grounded. Am cd 21 (of a usually 24-26) day cycle and have the tiniest bit of pink spotting. My rational head is thinking that it's just one of those things but my hopeful head is saying what if this is it?! We literally dtd once during fertile week but I haven't been tracking at all, so didn't clock any usual ovulation symptoms and actually thought maybe I didn't ovulate as normal this month because I didn't pay attention.

I'm not testing and am not due until Monday / Tuesday. I know in my heart it's not going to be a bfp, why would this month be any different?

But anyway, just wanted to share the madness in my head. On the plus side, I saw a tiny new born today and had a meeting with someone who is quite heavily pregnant and I feel OK.

Have just got home and the builders have taken out the wall between the living room and dining area, very exciting.

Fingers crossed @79andnotout that thrush is a sign!

Re the grey hairs, I have loads at the moment! I dye my own hair and actually have a box that I bought weeks ago but I'm too lazy to bother at the moment. I can't remember who said earlier but my hair is thinning and breaking lots. It also gets so greasy, literally sometimes by the time I get home it's on the turn having washed it in the morning. Dry shampoo doesn't really do much for my hair. I might dye my hair on Sunday.

Kescilly · 24/01/2019 17:27

Fingers crossed for @79andnotout and @VenusStarr!

Also congrats on getting doing okay interacting with a newborn and heavily pregnant woman. That sort of thing always messed with my mind so much, even when I didn’t think it had affected me.

I found my first grey hair around age 28. My ex had put me through a really stressful move and I nearly ended the marriage and stayed put. In retrospect, I probably should have! But I swear that the stress brought on the grey.

I have very black hair so it all shows up, but I don’t care. Maybe one day I’ll look in the mirror and feel like I look decades older than I am, and then have it dyed.

Carley321 · 24/01/2019 18:45

@79andnotout Sounds promising 🀞🀞🀞 for another bfp.

@CNizzle so sorry to hear that, it really must be a hard time for you all. Sending you lots of cyber hugs. You know where we all are if you ever need us.

@BambiOnIce80. No not to bad but I can’t help but worry. I’m just built that way lol. The fact that it coincides with FW just pisses me off lol. Fine thin and very dull hair is the thing that really gets me down... I can hide my bad skin and selfie myself from an alright angle but my bloody hair bothers me. I’m exactly the same with the different texture grey too lol, it’s wild... you have your wand and I have clip in extensions (for thickness over length, it’s the same length as my actual hair) but it seems my hair is even to weak for them.... I only have to brush it and I can hear it snapping! I even went as far as pricing implants lol.

We don’t have any hair tips or vitimin recommendations do we ladies?

Have fun @kescilly I love Bath.

Only once it takes @VenusStarr 🀞🀞 for you.

BambiOnIce80 · 24/01/2019 19:09

Exciting stuff about booking your babymoon in Bath @Kescilly! 🀩 I've never been, so you'll have to tell me how you find it 😊 Anything to report back on from your scan?x

After saying to you that my temps look pretty much the same as last cycle @Amanda81 (which they did, when AF was here πŸ™„), they very much don't now! They're a whole 0.5Β°C higher than they were this time last cycle! πŸ˜• I've already rationalised it as being because it's my pesky, cysty right ovaries turn to ovulate this time (and I'm getting the right-sided pre-ov warm up twinges to verify it) and I think it takes a higher concentration of hormones to knock an egg out, thus the crazy higher temp... I could be talking total πŸ’©, but sounds like a reasonable theory to me! 😬 It seems to be goosing my flo app too- it's put ovulation as having occurred at CD9, presumably because of the crazy high temps compared to last cycle 🀨 I'm going to start hitting the OPK's tomorrow and hopefully a BFP over the weekend will sort the predicted ov day out on the app. Whatever the real reason for the crazy high temp this cycle, it's all fodder for my ACU appointment on Tuesday (I already pity the poor consultant/reg that lands me πŸ˜‚πŸ€£).

Oooh @VenusStarr, I'd absolutely be freaking out too!! πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€ Sounds like you're kitchen project is coming along nicely also 😎

@Carley321 I've read that clips can do a bit of damage (especially to hair like ours 😏). I think posh ended up with the pob because of the damage from too many extensions (albeit fancy, expensive ones). Don't perfectil do a hair/nail vit? I feel like my fair is getting thinner, so I think I hear amazon calling me to buy some... πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

79andnotout · 24/01/2019 20:09

@VenusStarr - exciting! Fingers crossed!

I have the opposite hair problem. I have an absolute wavy mane and the coarse greys are just making it more wild/frizzy. I have it about shoulder length these days as I can't be bothered with the hour it would take to dry it when long, and so it just sticks out at all angles. I can't complain too much though as it's pretty low maintenance and I only need to wash it about once a week.

Thrush seems to be easing now. My tart vagina is winning the battle! Don't feel remotely pregnant so think it was maybe my body revolting at too much sex. I'm going for a pint at my local, fuck it.

Amanda81 · 24/01/2019 21:32

@BambiOnIce80 - gosh that is a hike up in temps! I hope the ACU peeps appreciate how much you know already. Is the appointment on Tuesday your first one?

BambiOnIce80 · 24/01/2019 23:06

Don't blame you at all @79andnotout 🍻 I swore to myself I wouldn't drink tonight when I was catching up with my friends... yeah, that didn't really work out 🍾πŸ₯‚πŸ˜ Only one small glass of wine though, which I thought showed real restraint! πŸ™„

@Amanda81 it is indeed the first one up here and with DP. I was fully investigated a few years ago when I was with my ex down south, so pretty much know what to expect from it all... and as such I'm not relishing having to do it all again because it's been a few years since I was investigated πŸ˜’ Anywho. Not focusing on it now and will wait and see what Tuesday brings (and what the hell my temperature will do tomorrow! 🌑️).

I’m so sorry to hear about your Dad @CNizzle πŸ’xx

Good luck @79andnotout @VenusStar and anyone else testing soon 🀞

CNizzle · 24/01/2019 23:58

Thanks everyone for your messages. I really love this wee thread. You're all so lovely 😊. Everything is getting organised, spent the day looking through photos & scanning them into the computer to make a slideshow for the wake.
Ive had a good day today, two separate people have asked me & the sister who is the eldest!! (Moi, by 3 years) she's 35, but the two kids are obviously aging her. Haha! V smug.
Hope you enjoyed your pint @79andnotout!
Good luck with the testing soon @Venusstarr & @79andnotout

wheresthehope · 25/01/2019 02:34

@CNizzle I am so very sorry for your loss x

Carley321 · 25/01/2019 07:03

@BambiOnIce80 oh really. I kind of know how damaging they are but just feel so underdressed without a bit of thickness (only on occasions where I am out out I wear them though). I wonder if the bits are safe when ttc... my hair is most definitely getting thinner. Since stopping the pill it’s coming out at all angles!

@79andnotout once a week! So jealous. I have to wash mine everynother day and I could never wear it down on the day I don’t wash it so one day up one day down for me.

Amanda81 · 25/01/2019 08:55

@BambiOnIce80 - so, what did the temperature do? Mine plummeted to 35.99 😳

BambiOnIce80 · 25/01/2019 09:30

I bet your sister was raging @CNizzle! πŸ˜„

How are you doing @wheresthehope?

Oooh, is that the dip for ovulation do you think then @Amanda81? Mines gone from 36.60 to 36.72, but because I was rubbish last night and caved and had a glass of wine I don't know if it's genuine or not! 😣 Seems a bit flipping high for one glass of wine, so I'm already wondering about an annovulatory cycle πŸ€” I'll start the OPK's when I get home and go at them for the next few days and see if they can shed any light on when the hell I'm supposed to ov... theoretocally it should be this weekend but with the crazy temps I have no idea! πŸ˜•
