New Year, new thread! 🍾πŸ₯‚

Basically: a wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the TTC journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Here's hoping 2019 brings some BFP luck to us all!! πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»

Congratulations @zoomies1 that’s fab news. I probably wouldn’t have waited a week either lol so good on you!

Amanda81 · 19/01/2019 16:26

Congratulations @zoomies1 πŸ€—πŸ€—

Blondcat · 19/01/2019 17:49

Congratulations @zoomies1 cramps are completely normal in early pregnancy that was something I got too. Definitely recommend a last child free holiday I am 19 weeks and just sitting in the airport in lanzarote waiting for our flight home after a lovely babymoon in the sun. Would recommend waiting until after about 14-16 weeks as tiredness and nausea usually ease by then...

79andnotout · 19/01/2019 18:02

Great news @zoomies1 !

PixieN · 19/01/2019 22:01

Congratulations @zoomies1 πŸŽ‰πŸ’•

zoomies1 · 19/01/2019 22:25

Thanks Guys. Still can’t really believe it. DH wants me to wait and test again to make sure. Fingers crossed it sticks. xx

pattyhoo · 20/01/2019 09:38

Congratulations @zoomies1 ! Smile

CNizzle · 20/01/2019 10:16

@zoomies1 congratulations 🀞 fir a happy & healthy nine months.

AF is about to arrive here, exactly on cue. Dad still hanging on in there, just.

QuantumGirl · 20/01/2019 18:34

Fantastic news @zoomies1. Fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy 🀰 πŸ’β€οΈ

This is the second cycle I have with no ewcm. I usually have a good amount for a day only πŸ€·β€β™€οΈFlo said ovulation is today but I don't know anymore. It was nice and wet down there ready for ew but now it has dried up 😩 and I drank lots of water and raspberry tea this cycle. I am so disheartened 😒. I've ordered coq10 and Dhea off Amazon today. Let's see what next cycle brings. In the meantime I will jump on DH as much as I can, for luckπŸ€and for loveπŸ’•.
Also for the first time ever I told my mum I am ttc and she was very happy and supportive. She told me to get myself checked ASAP but I told her I'm scared of the result in case they are bad. My parents live overseas and last time I saw them they gave me some cash as present which I haven't spent. Considering using it towards a private test. So so scared πŸ˜”

79andnotout · 20/01/2019 19:09

@QuantumGirl how far off are you from being eligible for nhs tests? My CM has always been hit or miss. I think as long as there's some up around your cervix it's ok. It doesn't have to be visible on wiping.

@VenusStarr - did your partner have his SA this weekend? Was that okay?

I've had the most unhealthy weekend ever, we've been cramming in the January deals, I've just had to have a large whiskey to try and cut through the undigested lard in my gut so I have a chance of being able to sleep tonight. So much for the January diet and detox!

QuantumGirl · 20/01/2019 19:41

@79andnotout Whiskey πŸ₯ƒ? You're my kind of girlπŸ˜‰

My GP offered the form to run the tests but my issue is there will be lots of time consuming tasks involved with the NHS that will need time off work, things like GP appointment just to get the form, then another appointment to collect blood, then hospital appointment then SA appointment for DH. Then I have heard here stories about NHS asking for second tests and not providing tests results with figures😠. So I thought to avoid all these hassle I could just go private and have it all done in one day but I know it doesn't mean it's error free. If the results are bad I know I won't be entitled for IVF on NHS anyway.

Good to know about your ewcm, I thought it was only me.

BambiOnIce80 · 20/01/2019 19:47

@CNizzle, did AF actually show? I hope it's a false alarm 🀞🏻 Thinking of you.x

@QuantumGirl, I rarely get EWCM- I just rely on fertility lube to do the job instead. Please don't be worried about considering investigations πŸ’– I've been poked and prodded in all manner of sensitive locations due to this TTC malarkey and I've not found it that bad (just my personal experience, of course). What's worrying you the most about it?

@79andnotout my dry January efforts well and truly ended last week! πŸ™„ Sat here with a Peaky Blinder and cinnamon tonic as we speak 🍸😬 DP is also in a foul mood because we went shopping to get him some clothes for the funeral and he's gained an 'X' to his usual XXL 😳 He's currently in the kitchen making Tom Kerridges 'healthier' sausage rolls for lunches for the week in a bid to shed the extra X's... I did suggest that salads may be more effective for that but that really didn't help his mood πŸ˜„

@QuantumGirl - there is a lot of faffing around, but for all the blood tests I've had I didn't need an appointment, I just showed up at the hospital blood centre on the correct days, on my way to work. The clinics open at 8 I think and you can show up any time during the day. My sister had the same at her hospital in London, so I assume that's the norm.

Would be easier to combine all in one package though, you will likely need to go through the nhs for the tube check, as that's $$$.

OH has a load of Japanese whisky in the gaff. I'm not usually a fan but I've drank everything else in the house so this was a last resort, although it was pretty good.

@BambiOnIce80 that sounds like a nice tipple! Lol at your OH making healthy sausage rolls. I'm not sure even my OH would be that naive.

BambiOnIce80 · 20/01/2019 19:54

Sorry @QuantumGirl, just cross-posted! Knowing the private sector pretty well, it's definitely not error free. They frequently use NHS resource as well, so you're sometimes just paying to jump the queue. That said, I see the appeal of getting it all done in a oner πŸ‘

QuantumGirl · 20/01/2019 20:46

Thank you so much @79andnotout and @BambiOnIce80. Your experiences are making me feel a lot more assured. My worst fear is a negative result. I don't know how I'm going to take it if my hopes are taken away from me. Sorry for a ranty post on a Sunday evening. The lack of ewcm and a lack of CB smiley face (I didn't have a positive opk at all this FW with FMU) is making me very panicky. I feel quite emotional and I don't even know why. Sorry. I will feel better in the morning πŸ₯Ίx

BambiOnIce80 · 20/01/2019 20:54

Rant away @QuantumGirl! ❀️ Maybe this cycle is just an annovulatory one? Have you had one in the last 12 months or so? If not, it'd be normal to be due one (really 🀬ing annoying as that would be, I know! πŸ˜’)...

OP posts:
79andnotout · 20/01/2019 21:09

@QuantumGirl I find the worst thing is not knowing. At least when you're armed with knowledge you can prepare and make plans. And yep, rant away!

VenusStarr · 20/01/2019 21:19

Thanks for asking @79andnotout, he's had it done. All seems OK but his motility and progressive motility are slightly lower than the average (around 2-4%) but he has over 400million! Going to take it to the GP tomorrow so hopefully we'll get in the system and get things moving.

Spent the whole weekend ripping out tiles and flooring in preparation for the builders this week, lots of trips to the tip! It's been a good distraction and I'm looking forward to seeing how our house is changing.

Will have a catch up read now....

79andnotout · 20/01/2019 21:35

That's great @VenusStarr ! Glad to hear it. And yeah you'll be very distracted with the kitchen rebuild. Good luck with that! I did mine about three years ago now and it still makes me so happy. I had underfloor heating put in too, which was the best idea ever as our stone floor was always freezing (old mill cottage built straight into the earth). I'm currently saving to convert the loft into a dormer now, I'm about half way there. Bloody love a house project.

wheresthehope · 20/01/2019 23:36

Hey ladies... Well my 18th cycle ttc with a mmc and a cp I finally got a bfp!!!
I have been feeling very up n down lately with what should have been my due date was on the 18th Jan so for some unknown reason I decided to take a test, only symptom I had was cramping since ovulation and that evening I got a faint positive on get this 8dpo
I tested the next morning to a better line then again this morn (11dpo) to a solid pink line!

CNizzle · 20/01/2019 23:57

@whereisthehope congratulations! Its turning into a successful month for this thread!
I've started light spotting, but no cramps. 11dpo, usually im 10/11 day luteal phase, so tomorrow will tell. Plus I'm at mum's with no testing facilities.

Dad is still clinging on. Hes obviously frightened, but not in any pain, he just wont let go, and is extremely agitated constantly. Its all v sad just now. Ive been signed off work for a couple of weeks so I can be with family. OH is going back home tomorrow for work, but im with my mum & sister. At one point today there was 17 people including family & nurses in the house. Urgh.

VenusStarr · 21/01/2019 07:28

What lovely news @wheresthehope πŸ’–

Hope you're OK @CNizzle, glad you have some time off. Take some time to look after yourself. Hope this month brings good news for you too and your af doesn't arrive x

BambiOnIce80 · 21/01/2019 07:58

Fantastic news @wheresthehope! πŸŽ‰πŸ˜ƒπŸŽ‰πŸ˜ƒ Keeping everything crossed for a happy and healthy pregnancy for you πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€

Excellent news on your DP's SA results @VenusStarr πŸ™‚ That's a superb count! I wouldn't worry about the motilities being below the average. My ex was borderline/low and the ACU weren't bothered about that at all (they still labelled us as 'unexplained infertility'). Good luck with the docs (and the kitchen!) πŸ€

I hope it's just spotting and nothing more @CNizzle 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻 It's great that you've gotten a couple of weeks to be at home with your family ❀️ Sending virtual hugs.x

CD9 here and waiting for FW to begin at the end of the week. I'm working my normal 9-5.30 days and DP is working 3-11pm... not a pain in the ass at all πŸ™„

Congressional @wheresthehope ! πŸŽ‰

How do we go about getting DP sperm tested? Can we ask the dr? We've been trying for 5 cycles and I know that might not be any time but while I'm still having scans for endo I'd like to know what we're dealing with for him. He's got quite a low sex drive and I wonder if that affects sperm count?

Pinkywoo · 21/01/2019 08:36

Congratulations @wheresthehope and @zoomies1 Flowers

I've been struggling the last few days since the red bitch appeared (crying at criminal minds when JJ had her baby! Confused), but feeling a little bit more positive now it's finished, and it seems like a lucky month for this group 🀞
